I had a shock when I turned up to the airport and my car hire that was listed on the website as £250 turned into a bill of almost £600! Insurance costs just under £80 for each day and then a petrol price of $9.90 per gallon is just outrageous! Had no choice as needed a car and other providers sold out as it was collection time. Hertz canceled the booking on me and won’t hold nor same day reservations. This made it particularly hard as we were traveling with family for vacation and left us to scramble at the last moment. Very poor service and mismanagement.Reviewed Apr 12 2023

There was no option to modify reservations as I was in need of car seat for infant. Return was inside a hotel where there was no board signs, it took lot of time to figure out. Atleast hertz can put up sign boards visible from Main Street and update info on google!!!Reviewed Aug 25 2022

Pick was as easy as it could be made in New Orleans. The shuttle buses ran often. As someone from out of town who does not rent vehicles often, finding the drop off was a little confusing. Signage was great until almost to be very end. I got turned around a bit but was able to find my way. Turning in the care was simple and the shuttle was easy found.Reviewed Jun 14 2022

What did I like - NOTHING THIS is the most awful service ever- I reserved the car 2 MONTHS ago and when we arrived, they simply said - WE DONT have a car for you.... really? I would like to contact the corporate and find out how this can happen. All the counters at the car rental pickup at the New Orleans airport were full of people standing in line to claim their cars - ant HERZ people standing behind the counter simply said they dont have a car - this is unheard of... i would like to talk someone at the HERZ and Demand an explanation about this.!!!Reviewed Mar 28 2022

The staff were great—friendly and helpful. Hertz no longer accepts calls at its locations, so if you need immediate help, you’re trapped in a hellish operator menu that solves nothing and charges you 5% of your rental fee to speak to a human. They’ll push the app on you but the app can’t resolve everything. Hertz’s attempt to automate everything in the name of cost cutting has put undue stress on their employees, who were all extremely patient and kind as we resolved the issues that came up with my rental. I hope they pay them well and reinstate actual phone lines to local offices. I will not rent with Hertz again.Reviewed Mar 26 2022
