Rental good, not great
Pros: Customer service was very good and quick
Cons: Car smelled like a previous smoker was in it. Also, vehicle vibrated at speeds above 70 on interstate. Suspect wheel or tire out of balance/tire belt broken. Advised hertz member upon turn in and seemed very uninterested there may be a problem

Rental not honored
Cons: Rental was not honored because of debit card deposit policy, no refund has been given to me yet. Security amount was not in any paperwork! Had to rent with another company that was more expensive - there are other renters with similar experience. Front desk could care less about predicament.

Absolutely Terrible Experience, Never Again from H
Cons: Terrible Customer Service Experience with both Hertz and Kayak, The Rental Car was late, The Agents were rude upon pickup. I will never recommend Hertz or Kayak again after this rental. No accountability on either company.

Pros: Staff was friendly overall, just very slow. Reservation was present.
Cons: 1. Staff member took personal calls while checking us in. 2. Car was not ready for us. We waited over an hour, making us late to start our travels for the day. 3. Mileage was not accurately recorded. We had the car for only a few hours and it was recorded that we drove almost 600 miles. I did notify the front desk of this. 4. No one reviewed the car return policy or where to go after hours. 5. No one reviewed the exterior of the vehicle with us. 6. The gas was barely over 1/4 tank when we received the car, but the staff had recorded as full.....which means I had to pay to fill the car up when I barely drove 70 miles. We called to notify the front desk immediately after receiving the car, but they stated if it was recorded as full we had to fill it back up!

Cons: The interior of the original car offered to me was filthy- front and back seats were badly stained. The rep refused to offer an alternative so I asked for the manager. She offered me a bare bones Nissan Versa and claimed it was an intermediate/midsize car, though it was smaller than the previous car. I was already an hour behind schedule what with this exchange so I begrudgingly took the Versa. Not only was it an uncomfortable ride, but about an hour into the drive I noticed the tank was only half full- Obviously not a full tank when I took possession. I returned the car yesterday afternoon after closing. There was not a parking spot to be found in the designated drop off area. I cleared a spot taken up by a vacuum cleaner and a couple of child seats. Another couple had to park behind me.

Maybe due to 2year old rider the car was clean and
Cons: It was cleaned well but noticeably stained before and exterior was scratched up a bit.

Pros: The car was nice and performed as expected. Pickup was good.
Cons: Drop off in New Orleans airport at around 5:30 AM. There were no agents anywhere and signs said to leave the keys in the car. It would be easy for anyone to steal the keys or the car. Hertz should have a secure key drop box for cars returned when no agents are on duty.

Pros: Car didn't break down, but other than that - nothing!
Cons: Car not available at airport ($450 more to rent at airport), spent $100 on taxis and 2 hours of my time commuting back and forth from airport to downtown, had to wait 4 1/2 hours to get a car, paid for mid-size car but got cheap economy (Toyota Corolla with 50,000 miles on it), car not cleaned and filthy, had only 1/8 tank gas in it and smelled like cigarette smoke, and both rear tires needed air so I had to purchase a tire gauge and inflate them to proper psi. Won't be using Hertz again!

Friendly person checked in our car
Pros: Good location downtown. Person who checked in car and provided receipt was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Not really any problem with New Orleans office. I just wanted to complain about what I'm learning about the "toll-by-plate" process in Florida and how Hertz is handling. I was not warned by either Hertz in Pensacola, or signs on the tollway. I used a road which listed a $4 toll, which I was expecting to pay when I left the road. But then I found that there was no place to pay. So then I expected to call either Hertz, or the Florida toll people, to give a credit card to pay the toll. Now I'm finding that I may be charge $4.95/day plus a service fee, in addition to the toll. (total of $30 or more for a 15 mile ride down a road that saved very little time) Apparently there's not a way for me to simply pay the $4, and my credit card is going to be charged for $30 or more automatically. What a ripoff. I hope someone in Florida consumer protection will get involved in this process, or there is some class action suit to get the situation corrected.

sent me to a closed location
Pros: The staff in New Orleans were very friendly, and I liked my car. The staff was helpful about telling me how to get credit back for insurance I didn't consent to pay for.
Cons: First, I was charge $143 for insurance that I didn't consent to. Then when I extended my rental till 2pm on a Saturday they failed to tell me the drop off location would be closed. It was a total nightmare.

No cars at location
Cons: The location I booked my car at apparently rarely, if ever - has cars and I had to go to a different location to get my vehicle. The second location didn't open until an hour later so I had to wait and was then incredibly delayed for my trip.

Pros: I liked the Bluetooth connection for the phone.
Cons: I did not like the basic functions of a car missing. No cruise control, arm rest, etc. Also, I was being charging more when I was only thirty minutes late to pick up rental. The pick up was very confusing, and the drop off was not organized. I will never rent from Hertz again.

Car was a no-show
Cons: Despite making the reservation more than 24 hours in advance, and confirming on the way to pick up the car at the Hertz location at the Hyatt Regency, there was no car. The remote "expert" on the kiosk could do nothing about it.

Couldn't find my reservation nothing
Cons: Hertz couldn't find my reservation at the check-in had to pay way more then the reservation said that I was going to.
