We did not pick up the car. There was a problem with the license because it was in greek and not international. Fair enough but we have sent the license (full copy) to Hertz two weeks before the rental and they reported no problem. At the rental deskWe requested then for the second driver who holds an international license to be the main driver. The reply was no because the car was rent through booking.com and not directly through Hertz. They offered the alternative to rent the car directly through Hertz at a cost of 920 euro (triple the cost of the boking.com / kayak rental). We refused. We had a penalty from booking.com for not hiring the car. In simple words Our holiday was totally ruined. Never againReviewed Jul 9 2026

Pickup was listed to be at the airport. When I arrived to the airport Hertz counter, they told me the vehicle was not there and had to be picked up at another location. I had to travel to the other location in order to pick the vehicle up.Reviewed Jul 7 2026

Hertz was closed at drop off point took multiple calls and bad input from them to facilitate leaving car at lot UNLOCKED WITH THE KEY IN IT PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS.Reviewed Jul 5 2026

They gave me a bad car to begin with. The car already had an Oil change required warning sign. The car had an empty red bull can. When I complained the same to the Hertz customer operations manager at Salt Lake City, he was least interested in listening to what I was saying and was very adamant in accepting the fault. When I said the vipers were making a screeching sound and the viper auto mode was not working and I had to manually move it up and down, he said that Hertz does not guarantee the working of auto vipers and some cars don't even have that feature. I am renting cars since ages and never felt experienced such a terrible customer service. Never choosing Hertz again in my life.Reviewed Jul 5 2026
