The staff and service at Hertz at Billy Bishop is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly! The added step of taking a ferry is the only reason I couldn’t give the best rating, as it does add extra time to obtaining the rental, but it isn’t difficult - just make sure to factor it in.Reviewed May 11 2023

Arrived at 8 am for a booked pick up at 830 am No other customer in the place and Hertz employee refused to serve me until 830 am Made me wait outside the doors while she stood behind the counter Said there were 3 customers who had 8 am pick ups that were ahead of me. When I went to pick up the car that I had already pre-paid for they added new taxes and service fees which was quite a surprise. When I took the car back I had inspected it and it looked fine I went in side and the service agent went out to inspect the car and then came in and told me that there was an area in the front bumper that was pushed in. I went back out with him and I said that was not there when I dropped off the car and he said that it was. He said I would have to pay for it. I asked to speak to his manager and he said the manager was not available I asked to see the local cameras to see if he had pushed it in and he said that I would have to figure that out on my own. I proceeded to fix the bumper which he asked me not to do and when I left it was good as new. I am disgusted with that kind of behavior and I wonder who else they do it to.Reviewed Sep 27 2022

I'm not sure if this is an opportunity for improvement for Hertz, or for Kayak/Priceline, but I was charged more than the advertised price and what was sent to me in my confirmation email I was charged considerably more when picking up the vehicle, 45% more in fact. That was a disappointing surprise. I won't be renting vehicles from Kayak in the future, I'd rather call the rental company directly and find out what the true price is.
