It was very easy to pickup vehicle in Bozeman. Woman at the counter was very friendly, and because there was a bigger car available, we were upgraded. The Jeep Grand wagoneer was clean and ran great, and even got better mileage than we expected!

There wasn't alot to like. Once we arrived at the Hertz counter we were told that we would have to pay an additional 50 euros a day for insurance which ended up costing almost as much as the vehicle. I couldn't remember after being awake for 24 hours if I had purchased third party insurance and the guy behind the counter was interested in helping find out. I fact, he made sure to advise us that they would require and $5,000 dollar hold if we did have third party insurance. Once we got fleeced at the check out counter we made our way down to the vehicle where the attendant drove the car up, parked it and threw me the keys. Zero explanation on how the vehicle operated, seats stowed or any of the controls worked. Very unsatisfied with the whole experience.

Waited nearly two hours to pick up the vehicle. The facility was understaffed, only two people were managing the front desk and one of them was clearly more competent than the other. Our vehicle was fine but hadn’t been cleaned super well, likely as a result of rushing. Will not use this Hertz location again.

10 minutes after making the reservation they called me and said they had no rentals available. After I landed their row was full of cars. They just did not want to rent one-way rentals so they should say that upfront and not waste people's time.

Easy pick up and drop off. No one was there at drop off even with it being a 24 hour place. Was hoping for money back with early return

Use National or Enterprise instead. I got in the car in Palo Alto and seat was cranked back super far. Whichever Hertz employee parked must have been huge, and did not bother to reset the seat for the renter. It was hard to readjust the seat to sit properly and see out of the mirrors, thus driving safely off the lot felt difficult. Later, we noticed what seemed like syrup on the gear shift. My kids found a whole strip of bacon under the drivers seat and a plastic fork wedged in between the seat buckles in the backseat. Employee at pick up hands off keys but doesn’t tell you to come back if anything doesn’t meet expectations; employee at drop off just takes the keys and doesn’t ask how satisfied you were. You get a survey about customer satisfaction, which produces an automated “we’re reviewing it.” But nothing after that.
