Pros:Car was nice and the man that helped us check in and get the car was very nice and helpful.
Cons:We had problems driving manual and stopped immediately outside of the Hertz office. We were blocking traffic, unable to move, my wife was being yelled at and in tears (she realized she didn't remember how to drive manual). I ran back to Hertz to ask for help. The employees I asked had no interest in helping and simply told me to wait in line despite this being an emergency situation. A random Hertz customer offered to help. it is absolutely unacceptable that Hertz did not care and did not help. Based on this experience I will avoid renting from Hertz in the future.
Pros:Clean small car.
Cons:The staff seemed annoyed when asked to assist on driving the car from its parked location in the garage which seems obstructed by another rental vehicle. Car was an automatic, but it was not explained that the car can also be placed in a manual mode. In the USA a car is either one or the other. Ok

Cons:It took about 2 hours to get served. The GPS was not easy to operate. And the rate was 3X what we expected. So we declined the car. Didn't tell us about the added insurance. Very disappointed.

Cons:car did not engage reverse- we where not told it was diesel- we where overcharged from $69.00 dollar for 1 day rental in portugal to $740.00 ( we need a breakout of those charges- the rental agent was short and did not wanted to explain anything- I am telling every body not to rent with Herz ever.

Cons:We were very disappointed that some crucial information is not shared with the customers. We were not informed that every kilometre has an additional fee. We were renting a car just for one day and the overall price ended up being twice as much from what was promised on the day we picked up the car.

Cons:Check in st lisbon caused me to wait for 1.5 hours. Their Office is very chaotic! The price you pay for renting a car is tremendously high. Although you have a good quote online, you pay an extremely high fare at the counter. I ended up paying 700 Euro’s instead of 170 Euro’s...
Pros:Helpful but overworked staff!
Cons:Car I had reserved was not available despite triple confirmation on toll free reservation lines. Had to rent two cars at 40% more!
