It was the worst rental we have ever experienced. The vehicle was filthy (human and animal hair and it does not appear to have been washed on the outside either). The guy said there was not another car and they had a new person 'cleaning'. The key battery was dead and he told me they had replaced it and it would take a bit to re-set. Then I drove away and the oil change light came on. We went to another nearby Hertz location and did get the service we should have from the beginning. The downtown Cincinnati location should not even be in business.
Pros:Dropped off before opening so no opinion.
Cons:Random $100 cleaning fee with no explanation...
Pros:Nothing, they didn’t have a car
Cons:Despite booking through Kayak and then confirming the reservation through a Hertz agent, the local Hertz office called me the morning of pickup to tell me they didn’t have any vehicles available. They couldn’t even get me a vehicle from a different location. I ended up having to scramble all morning to locate a rental car through a different agency.
Pros:The van was almost brand new. It was very nice and had plenty of room for all 6 passengers and their bags. It rode well and was extremely comfortable.

Cons:we were late due to traffic. They had a car though and we realized that the card used and the drivers license were in two different names (same last name, same account) so they made us call customer service to get that changed and so we changed it in store and cancelled the order and created a new one and literally turned around and handed them the card and they said they gave the car away, even though the whole process took less than 5 minutes. Extremely rude customer service. Girl working wasn't doing anything and yet still wouldnt help. Had to wait to even get acknowledged.
Pros:The staff was helpful except for the manager who did not try to compensate me for the amount of time I lost trying to pick the right car for my rental. Manager truly was not concerned that I spent over two hours trying to get a car that would work with Bluetooth and cell phone.
Cons:Hertz needs to know more about the Bluetooth and Android/iPhone capability in the rental of their cars. We are in a whole new arena with the cell phone capability and the integration of car with it.
