Pros: The Kia Optima was an excellent car. The service when checking in was excellent and the return was super easy. Great experience overall!

Pros: Price as advertised. Clean car. Well maintained car.
Cons: Pickup process was longer than I'm used to with other rental car companies but this was largely because of the customer needs ahead of me, not because of Hertz staff

Pros: The lady at the counter was nice
Cons: I prepaid for a rental, turned out it was 40 miles from the airport. I lost the money I prepaid and I had to pay for another rental from hertz for $150 more than my reservation

Cons: we were late due to traffic. They had a car though and we realized that the card used and the drivers license were in two different names (same last name, same account) so they made us call customer service to get that changed and so we changed it in store and cancelled the order and created a new one and literally turned around and handed them the card and they said they gave the car away, even though the whole process took less than 5 minutes. Extremely rude customer service. Girl working wasn't doing anything and yet still wouldnt help. Had to wait to even get acknowledged.

Pickup delays - felt like I went from Gold member to bronze to copper
Cons: The paperwork said car was full of ags, the electronic indicator said 7/8. Had to bring back to counter agent and wait awhile to be heard. Then they called for service to fill car, but after that was done, the told me it was actually full bu the electronic gage was messed up. Then I demanded the agent write on the agreement that it might not be full so after checking I would not be charged for a partial tank of gas. During rental, the key had trouble turning in the ignition at times. Told them on return this car needs out of fleet and requires maintenance. The last person checking cars should have made that decision. It cost me a total of 20 mins getting to my first appointment on Mother's day weekend!

Don't use Hertz in Cincy.
Cons: They had no cars and gave me the run around the entire time. Not sure how they operate but they must only have 4-5 cars between the local Hertz stores. Never actually got a car, will never use again .

Inflexible and lack of customer focus
Pros: People at pick up were good.
Cons: I wanted to change the drop off location and they wouldn't allow me to do that without charging an outrageous price. They lost a good customer.

Cons: I was not happy with the car. I received the car dirty (inside and out), it had many dents and scratches, and the service was ok. I have never rented a car that looked like a used car before...all the rentals I have rented in the past were clean and not damaged. I will not be renting a car from Hertz on Elm St again.

Cons: Extremely difficult to reach by phone. Didn't return message after I finally got through. Did not offer option to pay set gas price on return.

Pros: The Hertz staff was really wonderful and helpful. They explained everything and were clear about their policies. The car itself was very clean and a joy to drive.
Cons: Honestly, my biggest issue was with booking a rental car through a 3rd party website. I will never do this again. There were many policies that I was unaware of at the time that I booked the car. The rental car insurance that I paid for was not Hertz rental car insurance, it was Kayak's own insurance. Had I known that, I would not have purchased it. Hertz was not even open on the day that I had planned to return my vehicle, so I had to pay for an additional day of car rental.

Pros: Customer service was good the young man was extra nice and helpful. The car I rented was nice as well just wish had a variety. But overall everything was good this time.
Cons: When I went to drop car off someone blocked the entrance so it made it hard to park. Wish they had bigger lot.

Pros: The car was nice and everything was very convenient
Cons: You tricked me into buying trip insurance rather than car insurance. I also found that the quoted price which I paid in advance was significantly below the final price charged by Hertz. I paid you $50, and then I owed Hertz another $50+. I wish this entire process wasn't so misleading.

Pros: Pick-up and drop off was quick and easy. The Hertz representative was pleasant and helpful.
Cons: While the car was clean, it still had a slight odor of cigarette smoke and had several set in stains on the interior that made the car look dirty and feel old.

Cons: I was not given any instructions on how to use anything...the car reeked of cigarette smoke and I don't smoke. I had a $100 temper pedic pillow that I had to put in the trunk hoping it didn't smell of smoke by the time I arrived. I got caught in rain before I arrived in Owensboro, had to pull off the interstate and try to figure out where the windshield wipers were and how to get the lights on as I was not told anything when I picked up the car. I will probably not use Hertz again.

Bait and switch
Pros: The staff at the airport location was pleasant, especially when I returned the car.
Cons: When I searched for rentals by airport code, I made the mistake of assuming my rental would be from the airport Hertz. That wasn't the case, so I had to transfer the rental to the airport location (other options were to take an Uber to/from the location in the inner city to pick up/return the car -- a big inconvenience). Of course, it ended up costing me an additional 50% of what I prepaid for the rental. I was really frustrated. This is the 3rd-party site's fault, though, not Hertz's.

Good except for pickup
Pros: Everything besides pickup was great
Cons: Person at counter had a hard time figuring out my reservation since it was not booked directly through Hertz. Took about 25 minutes to figure it out. This was annoying.

Car unavailable at first location
Pros: The staff at the Elm location was very friendly and went out of their way to help take care of us.
Cons: The car class that we originally reserved was unavailable when we arrived, so the more expensive cars were not made available to us for our reserved price. Rather, we were driven to another location 10-15 minutes away by an employee, where they also said they didn't have a car available. But after some work with the staff there, they were able to arrange for a car there to be given to us.

A ruff ride
Pros: I was given a car that had damage. The car drove a bit ruff and the Low tire light was on when I received the car, I had to put air in the tire. This should have been done before the car was given to me
