KAYAK

Cons:

Reserved a standard size car. When I arrived (3rd in line with only one person working) there was only a compact left. I was on a schedule so I had no choice but to take it. I was told the total charge would be less due to it being a different size vehicle. I took the (uncleaned) car and got ready for my trip, running a few local errands beforehand. The check engine light then came on in the vehicle. I took it back to the rental agency and was told it was the O2 sensor. I didn't have time to wait for another vehicle to be returned or go to another location for one. I basically was told to take my chances or wait for another vehicle, which again I couldn't do. The sensor was reset & I was informed I could call the 800 number for an exchange vehicle if it came back on while I was on my trip. The sensor came back on 3 days later when I was driving home. I stopped for some gas and the car wouldn't start. It took 4 tries and it finally came on. When I finally got back in the area I stopped to fill the gas tank the rest of the way before returning the vehicle. Unfortunately this meant I had to turn the car off. Again, the car would not start. Took me 6 tries to finally get it running. When I arrived at the rental location the door was locked. A girl came & unlocked it and took the keys. I explained to her what happened with the car and that I was also told that someone would be in the office when I dropped the car back off around 1:00. She told me that they closed at noon. Days later when I checked my bank statement I had been charged for the standard size, which had not been available for me, and also charged for an extra days rental, after I had been told I could return around 1:00 on a Sunday. Luckily I was able to call the 800 number and get all of this resolved (they were very helpful), but overall it was not a good experience. This is the 2nd time I've had issues with this location. I will not be going back.
