I wished the had a bigger pick up truck available, the Toyota Tacoma was a bit smaller then what I anticipated. However it was great in gas.

I spent an hour and a half in line to pick up the car and when it was finally my turn I was told there were no cars available except for a 12 passenger commercial van. If I hadn’t insisted they would have never gave me another option. There were a bunch of hidden fees, had to call to get them clarified after I dropped car off. Will not rent again.

Horrible experience. This was fulfilled by Hertz. They bait and switch car was not clean at all!!! Never cleaned!!! So probably wasn’t disinfected either. Staff was rude and signage was lacking in the airport for the pickup location.

What can I say good about this reservation. Nothing really. I rent a fair amount of cars, and I’ve never had many problems at all, but this was a total debacle. My car is in garage being repaired, and I needed a rental for a Dr. visit I never made. The first problem was the rental office was closed, and the person I spoke with said it would not be opening any time soon. He also said he did not have a car for me, and that he would call me at 4 pm when he had a car. I never got that call. I spent over $50 in cab fair round trip. I fly for the airlines and witness everything from great customer service to the worst. We live in the age of technology, and things like this rarely happen, but when they do, people make the difference. Not in this case.

Pros:

Staff was very friendly. All went well with pick up and delivery. The windows and side mirrors were so dirty and water spotted I could barely see out. They had a film on them which made things really blurred, especially at night.

Cons:

Clean windows and mirrors the day of rental.

Hertz absolutely were trying to take advantage of me at every step and trying to make me pay extra money for every option they offered. So dishonest and wrong.

Pros:

Staff was very friendly and fast even though the office was very busy. Car was very clean. Price was incredible. Drop-off took less than a minute. They had a space for me to leave my own car overnight.

Cons:

I declined the CDW when making the online reservation. When I inquired about adding it at check-in, the price for it was four times higher. But this was out of the hands of the staff at my rental location and controlled by Thrifty itself.

Car had food crumbs. Had a grinding noise to it when driven. When I called to trade out the car they told me I would have to drive an hour and a half away to the airport to do so or call AAA. They had no regard for our safety.

The car was filthy. There was mud and dirt all over the inside. There was sticky stuff all over the windows. They told me they had no other car and we needed a car for our trip. I asked them to swap the driver on the reservation not add an additional driver but they didn’t so I was charged for an extra driver. They said my tank was full and it was close to half way but I returned it full. I would never rent from hertz again.

The time it took to complete the pick up was ok, the waiting room/counter is a bit congested and there isn’t a clear place for patrons to wait in line to be served in order. The way it’s set up it pretty much relies on the customers to be aware of their place in “line” so they k ow when it’s their turn. There doesn’t seem to be a clear check in of vehicles. There isn’t a designated worker assigned for I take and it feels like if there were a line, you would also wait in line to check the vehicle back in. While there is a formal check out process involving walking the vehicle with the worker as they take photos of the vehicle, at check in, there are no photos taken. This doesn’t make sense as there could be damage done to the vehicle after check in that isn’t the responsibility of the last renter that could be associated with the last renter. Also,returning, there was two associates and no customers and the associates didn’t greet. I understand it was early on a Sunday but making your customers feel welcomed is important. Nothing bad to report just a couple areas for consideration.

Staff was friendly but not forth coming with info about tolls and so we called hertz and we were told we needed to see an agent at our nearest location. Found out the location had just closed and after another call to Hertz we were told again to wait until morning to get the info on toll sticker! Found out the next morning we didn't need to see anybody because we were to wait for a bill in the mail. We lost a day of travel because of this:( Also the side door of the cargo van kept getting stuck and would not open and the inside light would not turn off. My husband spent over 2 hours trying to turn it off on the way back from our trip! It was a very bad experience.

Cons:

A different vehicle altogether, as well as, information on the use of tolls. For the price we paid we deserved better service!!

I had paid for my car in full. I had to wait for my bus to pick us up. He didn’t want to wait. When I arrived at the pick up I was late due to bad weather and my car was given away. Remember I paid in full the car so it should have been there no matter what. I receive a smaller car after paying for the more larger one and wasn’t given my money back. Was told my insurance on my master card wasn’t good enough for insurance which I had used Multiple times in Florida. Which is the reason I have this cards to for theses extras. I was forced to purchase insurance. He told me I had to complete the walk around and fill out the forms as I look for the damage. Never had to do that. I walked around in the dark as the property doesn’t have enough light to see the dents and scratches on the vehicle. The office wasn’t up to standard. Needs a face lift. Wanted to drop off the car and there’s didn’t have a night time drop off between. 11pm- 6am . Had to paid $100 for airport drove off.

The car was clean, but the sale tactics were not. I had prepaid for the vehicle and read all of the fine print listed on the rental page before purchase...and also the NextCar policy page on their website! Yet when arriving to pick up the vehicle, agent Johan said my insurance declaration page was not sufficient (it has never been a problem before, anywhere) and that I must pay for their liability insurance. It was twice the price of the vehicle per day. I wasted over an hour trying to communicate the unfairness, but they pointed to a line in their MIA franchisee website (not the NextCar home page) that justified their charges. Bad faith business.

Complete details were not provided on the rental via the website. The representative at the counter and all NextCar representatives contacted via many phone calls were extremely discourteous, unprofessional and did not assist with providing a solution to my issue. I will not use this company in the future nor will I recommend them to anyone.
