Economy

The price, vehicle cleaniness, staff and check in and out was EXCELLENT!!! I kept the car an extra 2 days, the process was easy and convenient. I also appreciated the due back reminders. I will definitely use again

Pros:

The pick-up and drop-off were easy. The pick-up took a little time because they washed the car and then took a video of the car in order to document any existing damage. I dropped it off on a Saturday morning and it didn't take long.

Cons:

They did try to sell me extra insurance for the car. I told them that I had purchased insurance with Kayak. The guy at the counter told me that they didn't accept the insurance that I purchased with Kayak. However, after he realized that I had put the Kayak insurance on a credit card, he accepted the Kayak insurance.

Pros:

Nothing. My reservation never showed up in their system and I had to do it all over again. The insurance which I purchased when I booked the car was not accepted and I had to provide a new insurance policy to cover for the rental. I spent more than an hour to pick up the car. I also had to wait for the car to be cleaned before I could leave.

Cons:

Paperwork was printed at 12:37pm but the associate attending to me left the counter to go wash and clean the car. I did not leave their premises till 1pm. When I returned the car at 12:55pm,the same associate saw me drive into the parking spot and left what he was doing outside to go lock up the main door since they closed at 1pm. I knocked on the door for about 5 minutes and no one came to the door. I dropped the key in the drop box and as I waited for my ride to leave, he came out of the building and did not even acknowledge my presence. Just this evening I see that my credit card was charged for reasons unknown to me. Poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I will never rent from them again!

Pickup was quick and easy. But the cleanliness of vehicles needs to improve. The outside of the vehicle was dirty. The inside of the vehicle was not that clean. I asked the Hertz representative if the inside of the vehicle had been cleaned and she said all of the vehicles are cleaned before they are given to customers. I found crusted particles on the interior door panels, and some decorations that someone else left behind.

Cons:

They could check the condition of the vehicle before they rent it. My vehicle had 2 bald tires on the front and I was driving to Florida had to delay my trip until the next day because had to wait for 2 new tires to be installed. Started my trip driving in a snow storm tried to get out the day before. Windshield washer fluid was empty doesn't work so well driving in a snow storm.

Pros:

Pickup and dropoff was pretty easy. The staff person that was there for both instances was very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

It would have been helpful to be have an opportunity to choose our vehicle. The minivan we were given had pet hair in the back. We have small children, so this was not ideal. We made due by putting down plastic in the back, but this was an avoidable modification if (a) the vehicles were cleaned/inspected better, (b) there was a backup vehicle available, or (c) we could have chosen our vehicle beforehand - to which we would have asked questions about the cleanliness of the vehicle.
