Pros: Contemporary and well decorated. Manicured grounds. Rooms very comfortable with modern conveniences.

Cons: You could hear people above you and next to you, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy our stay. Seemed outdated and staff was so so. When needing a cab, they gave me the number instead of calling one for me as their guest. Shuttle service was misleading on website. Not available for needed hours. One of the reasons I went for this hotel was because of the shuttle. It was a waste. Will look elsewhere next time heading up to the Culinary Institute of America.
Pros: Love the rooms very nice and. Comfortable
Cons: Wish the breakfast was until 11 instead of 10.

Pros: I enjoy my stay but it was only one little thing
Cons: The only thing I did not like of my staying in the hotel was that I needed to change my room because showerhead was broke and the maintenance was not there to fix it.. they only come once at day in the morining.. ..

Pros: The facilittle was clean. The breakfast was good but more seating on outside patio would have been a nicer touch.
Cons: Our bathroom door would not shut. The bathroom looked like shoddy work was done to try to fix door and something else but not done well.
Pros: we stayed at the best western for vassar college parent's weekend. it was the perfect location to go back and forth to campus. the room was big and comfortable and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. i would stay there again!
Pros: Reception was very friendly, gave us a credit, and did pretend to try to move us.
Cons: Didn't hold reservation and gave us downgraded room. TV reception terrible "because of the rain". TV remote did not work. AC barely worked. Tub drain broken. Breakfast was minimal and low quality. Shabby, old interiors.
Pros: Wonderful; staff, clean room
Pros: The staff member working in the morning was great. She was personable, helpful, checked on specifics of our stay, and apologized for the mistakes that were made. Also, the breakfast was great-lots of choices.
Cons: The person on staff when we checked in was NOT very friendly, and did not offer information. I had to ask about the evening reception, which I found out about when my confirmation email was sent to me.
I had requested extra towels, which we did not receive.
Also, my bill did not reflect my kayak rate. I was charged the regular Best Western rate. When I pointed it out, the morning staff person did get it corrected.

Pros: The room -very clean and comfortable. And the setting was lovely and convenient
Pros: It was a nice resort with everything! The courtyard was picturesque. I definitely enjoyed staying in a suite, rather than a room. Everything was clean. I liked the pool and hot tub. The free breakfast was definitely to die for. Lewis Chiu
Cons: Lewis Chiu
Cons: Noise from other rooms
Pros: One Of The Best In The Poughkeepsie Area, Centrally Located And Mins From Everything You May Want Or Need. The Separate Living Room/Kitchen/Dining/Office Was A Great Space. Plus The Couch Pulls Into A Bed Which Is Great!
Cons: Liked Almost Everything. Only Thing I Could Even Say I Didn't Like Was Parking BUT It Was Sold Out So Can't Complain Much.
Pros: Staff was friendly and the accommodations were great
Cons: There was nothing I did not like about the hotel
Pros: The pool lol
Cons: No everything was perfect staff Were great and Hotel employee is excellent.
Pros: Exterior and facilities were clean and well kept. The bedroom was adequate with sink, microwave and fridge.
Cons: Bed was not a King however and seemed smaller than a Queen. The mattress was very uncomfortable, the worst I've slept on in what I can remember and I've stayed in about 50 different Hotels in my life.
Pros: Mostly everything except the mattress on the bed. To soft. Not firm enough. Other than that very clean hotel, excellent accommodations, etc. Overall we (my husband and I ) had a very pleasant stay at the Residence Inn. Surely, we would stay at this hotel
Cons: While the room was very nice, clean, with modern furniture, granite countertops, etc. the mattress on the bed was not as firm as I would have liked it to be.
Pros: Staff were very pleasant
Cons: bed and pillows were fairly soft.
Pros: The location was absolutely brilliant for me, and it does give a homely vibe while you are in the room. I just stayed here for one night, but will defiantly come back
Cons: I can hear the snoring from the next room, which was kinda funny in a way
Pros: The room was a nice size. It had a separate living room and kitchenette.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice.
Cons: Workout facility was very small.

Pros: I was skeptical but it was clean and did the trick for a night passing through. Staff was friendly. Sheets and pillow cases smelled fresh. I work in hotels so I'm picky and know what do look for. But the room I stayed in was clean. Can't speak for the rest.
Cons: The bed was firm but some people like it. The walls are thin. I could hear others accessing their room and it almost sounded like they were coming in my room. But none of this is the hotels fault. They are doing a good job with what they have.
Pros: The hotel was a good value. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the property was clean. Additionally, the hotel was only a short drive from the CIA.
Cons: The property has seen better days. The bathroom door in our room didn't latch. The exterior security door near our room opened without scanning a room key. While the hotel is a smoke-free facility, smoke was always present in stairways and hallways.
Additionally, the property does not have an elevator. Travelers should request a room on the first floor, otherwise you'll be carrying your luggage up and down stairs.

Pros: The bar was great... Front desk, great...rooms, nice...overall, nice... Could be better
Cons: The attention to detail seemed lost... Dings, dents, bad painting..... Basic hotel upkeep seemed lacking...
Pros: We stayed here a few years ago, and they've definitely been upgrading. The rooms and the hotel are much nicer than I remember. The front desk staff was really welcoming and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast is really bad. Wedged in a back ballroom, everything was cold and half-hearted. It took forever to have basics like cream and water pitchers refilled. There are tons of great diners in the area. It's definitely worth venturing out and paying elsewhere.
Pros: Heating system out dated
Cons: I couldn't. Get a double bed room

Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with room service and free WiFi.
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room has been recently renovated and everything was very clean. Having a refrigerator in the room is very appreciated. The size of the room is very generous, giving us plenty of room to spread out during a five day stay.
Cons: We had a room on the first floor. During one night of our stay, there was another guest in the room above us. The sound proofing between floors is non-existent and you could hear every single footstep of our upstairs neighbor, loudly. Also, we were happy to see that the windows could be opened for some fresh air but, any time we tried to open them, someone would start smoking outside the front entrance and the smoke smell would waft into our room. Disgusting.

Pros: Very nice, clean, quiet. just a few minutes off the Taconic parkway and 12 minutes to Reinbeck or Redhook. You will not find anything in town unless you pay double.
Cons: Nothing. All good
Pros: Staff very friendly and efficient
Cons: Shelf over sink was badly located. Near the road....traffic noise
I am going to stick to chain hotels from now on! I was disappointed in the overall look of the hotel. It was shabby and not well taken care of. The grounds were not taken care of. The outside needed painting and fixing up to make it more comfortable to stay there. The lamp did not work in the room. There were ants running around in the room. The creamers left for the coffee were sour. The furniture was shabby. You have to climb 15 stairs to get to your room and the planks you have to walk over to get there were scary. You could see the ground underneath and you are high up on the second floor. I thought it would be nicer since I did research and it got mostly good reviews. Breakfast on Sat. was runny eggs, hockey puck sausages,& cold toast. The breakfast room was so small that it did not fit all the guests on Sat. morning.
Pros: quiet location. Clean but dumpy.
Cons: the bed was awful..better to have slept on the floor. We had to leave before our time was up because of this. Lots of stairs to climb to the room. The place needs fixing up esp. painting!
Cons: Wasn't near Red Hook. Way out in the middle of nowhere
When visiting Stanfordville, Jennys Country Manor Lodge is a great choice to consider. Free perks include WiFi and continental breakfast on weekends between 8 AM and 9 AM.
Situated in the mountains, this bed & breakfast is within a 10-minute walk of Hyde Park Historical Society Museum and Springwood. Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site and Hyde Park Landing are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: Poughkeepsie isn't to blame for this ramshackle of a hotel.
Cons: The en masse loiterers, smoking rooms, damaged furniture and flailing plumbing. People don't take pride in their property. Horrible.
Pros: Very clean for being such an old hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The beds are very small and not very comfortable. No breakfast choices for gluten free diet.
Pros: No one bothered us
Cons: Cigarette burn on the blankets. Cost more than what kayak.com told me. Even though I ordered one king bed they told me that's what happens when you order online and stuck me with 2 queen beds. Basically it cost more than what it was supposed to and I didn't even get what I ordered.
Pros: I found that hotel to be clean with a friendly staff. There are so many things to do and see in the area that we did not have time for the pool and exercise room. I would recommend this hotel to others and use it again if I return for a second visit.

Pros: I liked that the roof didn't leak and the toilet worked
Cons: I'm not a complainer. Do no stay at this motel
Scary place, run down and they got me for $130
Pros: I liked how close it was to a gas station, since I had to buy beer a few times in the middle of the night. The breakfast was minimal but suitable. The mattresses were stained but the sheets were clean! Plenty of parking, lots of rooms available.
Cons: Everything in the rooms was long overdue for an upgrade and our room didn't have an iron. It was clean but smelled dusty.
Pros: Very convenient location to Poughkeepsie and the Walkway over the Hudson bridge. Despite being on Rt 9 the rooms were quiet. Continental breakfast was bagels/cream cheese, donuts, coffee.
Cons: Only one window in rooms, got a bit stuffy overnight. Across the street and in the mall next door are reasonably priced eateries. And the CIA restaurants are less that 1/2 hour up Rt 9.
Cons: run down waiting for a teardown
Pros: The front desk guy was friendly
Cons: The place was filthy. I refused to stay. It was so bad I didn't care about my loss of money. I couldn't get out there quick enough.
Pros: At first we were mortified, it seemed abandoned. Our room was was dated. It was fine for one night for the price. Location was good.
Cons: Wi-Fi didnt work, place felt abandoned. Heat wasn't very hot. The place is old and hasn't been updated in a long time.
Cons: The place seem old. Stayed with my 11year old son and he was not happy with room. I guess tou get what you paid for.
Pros: Location. Water for shower hot.
Cons: Very old and worn - needs improvement. Noisy neighbors. Breakfast is coffee, tea, bagels or white powdered donuts.
Located near a train station, Poughkeepsie Inn is a great choice for a stay in Poughkeepsie. Free perks include breakfast and self parking.
Pros: The reservation process. The lobby looks nice at first.
Cons: The front desk attendant was missing for fifteen minutes when I wanted to check in at 8pm. When we entered our room it smelled musty. Further, the room was very outdated and unclean. There were stains everywhere and something growing/leaking? from the ceiling tile. The bathroom did not look sanitary. It was a very uncomfortable stay--- aware that they are renovating, there is no excuse to the disgusting conditions we paid to stay in.
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: It smelled bad, our room wasn't clean, the wall paper was peeling, the bathroom wasn't cleaned, there were holes in the carpet. It was disgusting. We found another hotel and walked out of this one. It was so gross we didn't want to put our stuff down anywhere.
Cons: Signs of water leakage on the ceiling in the bedroom and the bathroom. Rust stains in the tub. Poor attitude from staff.
Pros: Only bad things were we didn't get the room we booked online at first but after saying something they changed our no problem and their restaurant/bar wasn't open even though they had a sign out front but there is a place right across the street
Pros: The hotel did the trick for what we were looking for in a last minute booking on a holiday weekend. The bed was large and fairly comfortable.
Cons: The hotel is very old and could use an update. Our first room the toilet didnt flush and 2 of the lights didn't work, and the hairdryer cord was so incredibly old it was literally black....and supposed to be beige. Grimy. The next room was okay. Toilet was slow, but eventually flushed, lights worked mostly. By the second day the bathroom florescent burnt out.
Pros: Young lady at the desk was pleasant and did what she could to help.
Cons: Pulled up to the hotel, saw windows open with fans in them. First room we got, A/C didn't work, lights burned out, trash in the bathroom. Moved us to another room. Trash on the floor. Breakfast was bagels and cereal.
Cons: We didn't stay at the hotel, we drove in, and it was like an hotel from HELL. It was very scary, sketchy, and disgusting. It has "construction permit in the windows, the pool was closed, and it looked like a hooker spot. We turned around and left. I lost my money!
Cons: The hotel is old, smells bad and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The manager called me at 5am to tell me I left my license at the desk. Then instead of just sliding it under the door he knocked a few minutes later and woke me up again.
Pros: Price for the area, proximity to where I needed to be, free breakfast, free wifi.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't very good, thin walls, poor light quality, poor shower quality, no conditioner, no material about the hotel or the surrounding area, toilet didn't flush well.
Pros: the cost was $83 and it was close.
Cons: Unfortunately I booked through Kayak so I had to pay $110. I will use Hotel Mercury again but I will book through them and save the $27 extra that Kayak charged as their fee.
When visiting Poughkeepsie, Mercury Grand Hotel is a great choice to consider. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking.
