Pickup was a pain, got a vehicle with 7% charge and then when I went back inside to exchange there was a long line of people that I had to wait behind to exchange my vehicle. The woman also initially tried to charge me the wrong price that was much more than what I booked it for. Drop off was a breeze though and I really liked the ease of just parking and walking onto the airport shuttle.

We picked up the vehicle in North Carolina it was snowing and sloppy there was no window washer fluid in the vehicle. Had to stop and throw snow on the windshield,. We bought some put it in only to find out the sprayer did not work. We called budget talked to someone they had us call a different number was suppose to be a local number but we got put on another waiting list never talked to anyone. Thank goodness the the weather changed and we did not need the wipers anymore the rest of the time spent there.

The first car that we were directed to, smelled so strongly of cigarettes I had to ask for another car. It was particularly annoying since I had my 3 and 5 year old grandsons and had to have the car seats switched to another car. The second car was ok but not nearly as nice as I have had in the past. The return was good but I probably will look for another rental company.

The line was almost 2 hours long to pick up the car. They gave us the wrong SUV 3 different times and had to load and unload the car with 3 children. Finally we have a suitable SUV and it smells like smoke. Horrible experience. Go Turo!

The pickup experience was great. Desk staff at RDU was very friendly and helpful. I was having trouble finding my car and door staff walked me over to my car. Really nice people.

I didn’t like the fact that I prepaid for everything on the rental. When I got to the counter to pick up the keys I was charged an extra $200.00 for insurance when I told the representative that I have insurance and the credit card covers the insurance as well. The rep told me no I had to get their insurance. Also I was also hit with a $500.00 hold for using my debit card because there wasn’t enough funds on the card. I was charged a total of $1,050.00 including the rental, insurance, and hold amount. My prepaid total in July when I made the reservation was no more than $500.00 . I will not use this app again because it didn’t disclose everything. Thank goodness I had extra money to cover this mess or I would have been stranded.

I was charged $45 to recharge this electric vehicle that I drove only 63 miles. As that is about half what I pay for the electricity for my entire house in a month, it amounts to highway robbery. This charge was not clearly spelled out by the Thrifty employee when I picked up the car. I will therefore not be using Thrifty or Kayak to rent cars in the future, or recommending that anyone else do so.

Thrifty itself is fine and the staff were very friendly. The problem is with the booking company Qeeq. At the time of booking there was no indication that I had reserved an electric vehicle. I had to “upgrade” to a petrol car. For $55 extra per day.

They did not have the class of car that I reserved and prepaid for. Instead of being given a car one class up, they tried to give me a car smaller than I paid for. Then, because they didn’t have my car class, I was upsold a different vehicle that more than doubled my total charge.

Pick up and drop off was simple and quick. Customer service was fantastic. Only bad part was the vehicle. The special offer was for a small SUV. What I received was an Buick with 80k miles that looked and felt very used. The brakes were going bad as well.

Pros:

While the drop off was east, I found that I was charged $6.99 for gas when I filled the gas rouhgly one mile from the drop off place. My mistake is I did not check the bill until I reached home. I feel cheated because I filled the car

Cons:

The staff should be fair and inform the client that they find the tank not filled while we signed to fill and bring. Clean the car better both inside and outside. There was smell of smoke inside the car when I took it. I mentioned this to the security at the gate. He told me that this may be from the material used for the upholstery.
