Pros: Beautiful condo style facility. This is one of the best overall resorts on the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a market store where you can order hot food at reasonable prices. Their Philly Cheeses teak sandwich was the bomb. Rooms are spacious and include a full kitchen. Huge high Def TV.
Cons: Elevators were slow. Take a patience pill to use them.

Pros: We were first timers to Myrtle Beach and since it was a short trip we were wanting to splurge and not drag our camper. We were beyond pleased with the value of this Resort. We had a fantastic Ocean view at a really nice Resort for not much more than the local campsite. I would for sure recommend staying here if you are not into the "Ocean Dr. strip scene" because unlike the hotels there you have privacy.

Pros: The public areas and amenities are fantastic. Definitely the best option (ONLY option) for luxury accommodations in Myrtle Beach.

I didn't care for the layout of the rooms (it felt awkward) and floors felt greasy when I walked on them barefoot. Nothing was a deal breaker and there wasn't anything terrible either. Pros: The amenities for children were great. The indoor and outdoor water activities, the play ground and being right on the beach made it ideal for our family. The king studio with fridge, kitchenette, dishes and cookware made it quite convenient for a family for a family to eat. We did not have to take time to eat at one of the resort restaurants or leave the property for food.

Pros: Loved our stay here! Rooms were nice and clean, excellent view of the ocean! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was easy to find no wait times. The heated lazy river and water slides was fabulous my kids had the most fun doing that!! Fast access to the beach a lovely park and u have access to both water parks in the side by side resorts! And at check out staff member Derek was really sweet and thanked up for staying with them and very accommodating !! We would definitely go back!! P.s not very expensive

Pros: We really liked the room, it was perfect for 4 adults and 2 young children. The waterpark was nice for the kids who were 2 and 5, the water was a little cold so we couldn't stay in for very long. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach and a short drive to the boardwalk, we would definately stay here again.
Cons: We had called the day before to see when we could check in and they told us 4pm, and to call when we got to Myrtle Beach to see if our room was ready, we decided to do some shopping and got to the hotel at 6:45bto check in, we went up to our room by 7 and our room was not ready....we were glad we didn't get there any either, the hotel gave us all free breakfast for both mornings we were there...glad it was free because it wasn't very good and we would have been upset to spend $10 per adult and $6 per child for the quality of the food...we also found no coffee or filters in our room but when we called they brought some up to our room, we also waited a few times for them to deliver more towels, all in all we would choose to stay here again.

Pros: This was our second vacation in Myrtle Beach and it was our best one! This place has everything you would want to do with children. We always had something to do and had a blast doing it. The staff was amazing and the location was PERFECT! We almost stayed somewhere else to save some money until we read some reviews on their website about The Dunes Village Resort and looked it up. That was all it took and we spent the extra money (honestly it wasn't even that much more) and stayed with absolutely NO regrets. We will be staying here every time we go to Myrtle Beach. I LOVE to save money but listen to me when I say spend the extra dollars and stay here. You wont be upset that you did.

Cons: Room was filthy upon arrival run down. Front desk sent maids in to clean and had to argue with them to change nasty dirty sheets with stains. They had to clean kitchen and living room food was left stuck to the furniture coach was deplorable. Dishes were put away with food on them just nasty. Pros: Breakers Resort failed to bill Hotels.com for our stay which was purchased two months prior. Breakers had billed us again for the stay and I contacted Hotels.com the following day after checkout to investigate the billing problem. They contacted Breakers and resolved the billing issue. Breakers later contacted me and apologized for the billing issue and explained they were crediting our card account and waived the standard resort fee. The prompt response was much appreciated! Enjoyed our stay and will recommend Breakers Resort

Pros: Location off beach was wonderful! We traveled off-season, so traffic on Ocean Blvd wasn't an issue, but it would be during peak season. Parking is located in structure across the street and that was OK (prefer connected, but it's on the ocean front, so...).
Cons: The Breakers ain't the same Breakers! Beware there are two (or more) towers -- North and South. You check into the North tower and it's all clean and wonderful looking, but if you're staying in South, it has more of a Motel 6 feel to it. Old, outdated. The three things that keep it alive are: Oceanfront views, price and housekeeping staff. Our phone didn't work, and (oddly) we didn't have a shower curtain, but they got right on it. Also, the beds are immediately there when you open the door, so be aware while dressing. Parking during check-in can be congested. Staff was harried -- took incoming phone calls before people standing in line (my pet peeve), but our check-in guy was cool and accommodating.

Cons: Be careful which building you’re in. There are multiple towers and most of them are old and VERY dated. Also our Resort view was of the side of another building and the street. Which wouldn’t have been so bad, but unbeknownst to us it was bike week. For half of our stay all we heard was blaring explicit rap music, cursing and the whole hotel smelled like pot. During this time bike week was going on the room next to us was blaring their own rap music till 4am. So while most of my complaints aren’t about the hotel. I do wish they would check the halls at night during these events so that their guests can get some sleep

Cons: When booking this room, I did a great deal of research. I read reviews, I scanned hundreds of pictures, studied accommodations and compared them to prices. This hotel had beautiful pictures and some pretty good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The first thing we saw (and smelled) upon arrival was giant dumpsters of trash and men were shoveling it out of the building into the dumpsters. We checked in just to use the pools because our room wouldn't be ready for a couple of hours. We had to go find parking across the street before we could swim. The hotel was very crowded so we walked around for awhile looking for a place to leave our things. Before we could find a chair, a security guard asked us where our arm bands were. We hadn't been given any armbands so we had to lug all of our stuff (including our eight month old daughter) back to the registration office to get them. The resort boasts it's number of pools but each of them was warmer than some baths I have taken. We eventually ended up at an indoor pool where a lady was sitting right next to us smoking. After a couple of cours our room was ready. I was excited because it was advertised as ocean-front. When we got into the room, our balcony overlooked the parking lot. There was a mini fridge which we had planned on keeping our sandwich meat and our daughters food in, but it didn't work, so we ended up traveling to and from the ice machine several times to keep our things cold.

Pros: In a word...OUTSTANDING. Great location, great facility and great staff. Quiet rooms which we very much needed. We never heard the traffic. We put "do not disturb" sign on the door and housekeeping did just that, plus they left clean towels in a bag hung on the door for us. No hotel does that anymore. Clean rooms with great size. In another word...GREAT stay and we're looking forward to staying there again. Four and a half stars!

Pros: Our stay at the Sheraton was perfect. Although we booked on July 3, the rate via Kayak was affordable and cost us 197 compared to the 279 booking through Sheraton would've cost. The hotel is in close proximity to the oceanfront, restaurants, and Broadway at the Beach. So close in fact we were able to walk to the oceanfront and enjoy July 4th on the beach! The hotel staff were prompt, courteous, and accommodating. The room was clean and had an oceanview. It was great!
Cons: Well, Kayak is a third party, so you will need to secure payment and ensure the hotel has your reservation via Kayak's Customer Service Department. But they were accommodated and got us all squared away. I would definitely book through Kayak again.

Cons: The mattress on my bed was extremely caved-in in the middle of the bed. Obviously, t was not comfortable. We were told we could not change rooms, because the hotel was full. However, we were there Thursday through Sunday. The hotel was not at maximum capacity. I was attending a convention that had less than half of the expected attendees, and we were at the hotel all day and all night, the hotel was not full. Even the parking garage was not even close to be full.

Cons: Beds were the "heavenly bed" types, big fluffy beds, pillows, comforters, etc. but they were WAY too soft. It felt like we were laying in a hot dog bun. Cons: we stayed in arrowhead court condos - they were just ok. dated, dark, musty, an unappealing porch. tv didn't work in master bedroom due to lack of cable box, really cheap-o appliances - or missing altogether (toaster?). lacked basics - filters for coffee maker, dish towels, paper towels. it was painfully clear why airbnb is so successful - its as if zero effort was put in to make this a comfortable condo rental experience. I am not a fan of a hotel chain renting out homeowner properties - and this experience proved it again. there were nice condo rooms on property, but this wasn't it.

We also enjoyed the Malibu beach bar and the entertainment at night. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Fan above stove broke. broken knife in drawer. gave knife to lady who cleans rooms says not my job. day 2 - Called about fan - still no knife returned -no one showed to fix fan- elevator stopped working, stuck on 3rd floor day 3 - called again about fan and knife - no one cleaned room called for towels twice had to go get towels from main desk. got knife around 4pm day 4 - no one cleaned room again, called about fan, now someone shows late that day. day 5 check out, daughter left phone, called at 2 spoke to a fairly rude female, who showed no concern with taking my name or number and said some might call me tomorrow. called back at 6:30 and spoke to a very rude female who tried to hang up after saying the cleaning people went home at 4. I told here I called over 4 hours ago, she looked it up and said they found it but the lost and found person is gone and want be back till Wednesday and there is nothing that anyone can do. So I am still waiting to get my babies phone back.

If you are coming in after 11pm you had better call ahead so keys will be left for you in a drop box. over 3000 units in this site and it was very confusing trying to find the unit. We booked 2 separate rooms and our other friends were on the opposite side of the complex and on the 3rd floor. Friend had trouble walking stairs and when we went to ask for a different room for them they could not accommodate. We even tried to change to a two bedroom unit and offered to pay more but they said they could not do this due to the fact that the unit's owner gets paid and they have no way of paying the owner of another unit if moved. Staff was not really friendly when we asked them for this. No elevators in our units some had them. Better bring your own soap, shampoo and hear dryer. small bottles of such but won't last for more than a day or too. We asked for more but they said they only provide what is in the unit.

When I was leaving the lady next to me was upset because housekeeping walked in her room before check out didn't even knock! When I checked out, they didn't ask about my stay. Pros: I enjoyed the closeness to the beach about a three minute drive from the villa. There are multiple sections of the villa and each one come with its own pool. So the pools are never over crowded. We had a perfect view. The condo already comes with towels ,soap ,dishes eating ,utensils a small amount of laundry and dish washing detergent. Which was quite nice Also the checking in and out was quite and the receptionist was very polite.
Cons: Im really afraid of bugs and on the second day of our trip I found a cockroach in the middle of the living room floor dead I was very disappointed. Also you are RESPONSIBLE for WASHING YOUR OWN DISHES the the people before us left my boyfriend and I there left over pasta. I was also quite disappointed with the fact that the bed was indeed like many other reviews I have read said two twin size beds pushed together this made sleeping indeed uncomfortable. The air conditioning unit in the front room of the suite didn't work so it was extra hot at all times. Only one of our two bedside table lamps had a working switch so we had to keep unscrewing it and then moving it to the other one to control the second lamp. The air conditioning in the bedroom was motion activated so it would turn off while we were asleep. (making the room very warm)

Could see in other rooms that some had been updated, but not all. Stove had visible rust on the top. We had 4 women in the room and had to ask for extra bath towels every day. That process usually involved 2 calls to the desk at least an hour or so apart.

Pros: My wife and I stayed here 4 days, 3 nights while having a walk-through and closing on a new house. We loved the Captain's Quarters and had an ocean front efficiency. The view was spectacular, room amenities very good. The hotel has 15 water features including lazy rivers, pools, hot tubs, [several inside] and a giant pirates ship kids pool with active water features. AND 20 bowling lanes on the 6th floor, plus a bar, pool tables, and arcade games. Also a great breakfast buffet deal at Vista 9 [9th floor] Restaurant.
Cons: The hotel does show its age a bit but the convenient multi-level covered parking, location, value, and excellent staff more than made up for it. I would stay here again and do recommend it.

But they were not.This was a third world hotel. The party I was with had bites all over the body when she woke up in another room. The hotel moved them to another room and said it was bed bugs. I booked 2 identical rooms and both were different from one another. Tvs were dated, bathrooms were too small. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom and a missing light fixture. Maintenance handed me a curtain to put up myself and as far as the light fixture...maintainance told me they are beginning to phase them out of the rooms. Finally parking was very difficult.

After trying to fix it, they moved me to another room; however the new room was not as nice and had not been updated the same as the first room. Regardless, most of the updates seemed cheap anyway. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and I was next to the ice machine. I chose an ocean view room when I booked the hotel, however both rooms they put me in, you could only see the ocean through a narrow gap between buildings. Other than being on the beach, there wasn't much else around the hotel either. They say it is a 3 star hotel, but I would say it is closer to a 2. I suppose you get what you pay for though. If I were doing it again, I would pay the extra money to stay somewhere nicer.

Paid $127.71 a night for side ocean view, had a full size refrigerator, nice size TV. We had dinner in the restaurant which could use updating, but great hamburgers and fries. Then we went back to room and spent the evening sitting on the balcony drinking and listening to the DJ. When we were ready to go to bed went inside, shut the sliding glass door and couldn't hear anything but the air conditioner.

The fancy faucet in the sink was hard to set the hot or cold and when you pulled up the handle the pressure was very forceful. They could have saved money on a regular faucet that is easier to control. The bed frame that the mattress sat on should have been built so that you wouldn't stump your toes. We had to put our beach towels around the edges so we wouldn't keep stumping our toes.

The location is also much further south from the main boardwalk area which was nice for people who want a little bit quieter stay without all the traffic. The room also had a full sized fridge and freezer (standard room, wasn't a suite). We didn't use the pool but it looked super clean and well maintained.
Cons: Front desk employees weren't the most welcoming or friendly. The parking garage only has one elevator so wait times are very long. The stairwell in the parking garage was disgusting. The elevators in the main lobby look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. The rooms also could use a good scrubbing (dirty walls, floors, etc.) the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling badly, the drain was backed up, our patio light was broke. The balcony floor was disgusting and covered in melted bubble gum and some other unknown substance that I accidentally stepped on barefoot. The bed sheets (although clean) had stains all over them and both the flat sheet and top sheet were extremely thin and rather uncomfortable. We did not eat in the cafe or go to the bar area at night. Overall, this is an okay stay. I don't think it was worth what we paid, but I know it certainly could have been worse.

Avoid this place, you will be looking elsewhere if you book here. I've traveled all over for work, and this was one of the worst I've seen. Believe the bad reviews!

Cons: Everything. Everything was misrepresented in kayak. No room like mine was even shown in pictures and that's exactly what customers look at. oh there's also two VERY DIFFERENT buildings that are Westgate: ones a very nice condo, the other is literally a shitty roach motel. There's no differentiating the two when you're booking a stay. The staff talked to me and treated me like I was a child. I didn't even stay there the night I checked in. Kayak also informed me that I might not even get my money back even though I wasn't even there 24 hours. Unfortunately I won't be using kayak again.

Pros: Our room didnt have curtains for the 1st 7 hours of our trip. After our 3rd call to the front desk we finally got some at 11:30pm. Besides that issue it was fine.

Pros: I loved everything about our stay. I will definitely be staying there again. Even though it was just my fiancé and I this place suits whether it's your family or romantic get a away.
