I read alot of mixed reviews about this place and was worried, but upon arrival i realized that the reviews were from people who had booked last minute and thought they would be catered to personally. Yes the rooms are outdated but so many independant motels are. I read comments about the manager, he was more than helpful, and accesible. He knew my reservation without looking at the computer. And his presance around the area lets you know people will think twice about entering the property. My room was clean and the beds were comfortable. As far as the reviews i read i can only say that i didnt see any of that. My stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Definatly will be going back.
Efficient, clean motel easily accessible to Ojai and also to Ventura. Good beds and services
The facilities And the upgrades are phenomenal and the staff is the best anywhere In the world For a place that Prides itself on being a Healthy environment, the food options, especially for breakfast and dinner aren't very good. Needs to be more emphasis on a farm to Fork like restaurant
Jane was amazing at the front desk and always make sure you tip the bellman well!!!
the staff was friendly and helpful; the room was good sized and clean with mostly good accomodations. There was a closet area without a clothes hanger rod and there were no towel bars by the sink or shower. Very inconvenient.
quaint little motel with friendly staff, lots of charm
We had a large group of friends. Everyone felt the hotel was na great deal. To begin with the staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was a nice perk.
The hotel was very nice. We had paid in advance (November) for a date in May. In March we received a phone call from Kayak or their 3rd party telling us we would have to move to a hotel in Ventura since they had over booked the hotel. We were very upset since we had made reservations very early. We were told by that 3rd party that if we didn't move then we could cancel. After several phone calls and emails we were finally able to stay. The good thing was that the hotel had us in their system as the reservation they had and they told us that they were not changing it unless we told them we were. When we arrived at the hotel, our check in took about a 1/2 hour because the credit card the third party gave to the hotel was not working. It was sorted out but was incenvenient.
We stayed overnight on our way down to LA airport so consequently required a restful stop. Casa Ojai Inn is very comfortable, the swimming pool is an added bonus. The self service breakfast good and the staff very pleasant - we would definitely use it again. Ojai is a really interesting place- great seafood restaurant & a brilliant second hand bookshop & a real Literary centre.
Staff, grounds, pool, hot tub. Well, the furnishings weren't my taste but that's just me. I usually like a more modern hotel.
Consistently good, with little touches that show that staff and owners care about property and the environment. Very quiet and comfortable. Walk to shops and hiking. I stay here every time I'm in Ojai. Need bedside outlets to plug in phone and other accessories.
The rooms were clean and the Casa Ojai Inn permitted pets.
Clean, good-sized room, great bed, and friendly staff. 2 minutes from the middle of Ojai by car. Low-flow shower, but understandable in these parts.
* It was clean * Staff was friendly * Bed was comfortable * Paid extra for a private "patio" which turns out to be a table and chairs outside the front door adjacent to parking lot (don't recommend you choose this upsell). * Faux-wood floors (I prefer carpet) * Tiny bathroom - only sink is in main room * Wall-mounted shampoo and soap dispensers (soap dispenser was empty for my shower) * Have to go to pool to get to ice machine
I was unable to go to Casa Ojai Inn because my childcare fell through. When I tried to cancel Kayak wouldn't let me even though I'm sure the inn would have been able to book the room 36 hours in advance on a popular summer weekend. I will not be using Kayak to book anymore.
Nice upgrade to room interior. Pool and jacuzi were great! Best best best value for better than average room. Nice touch with free breakfast!!
Loved the cabin like room and wonderful log bed! Only 1 lamp worked and had only about 5 min of warm shower water.
Great location, fun vibe, great bar and pool party, free bike rentals, cool decor Pillows could be more comfortable
All rooms had deep soaking tubs and fridges and microwaves. The decor was great, and the beds were huge and comfortable. The pool and lawn are great for spending hours lounging in/on. There are small pooches in front of each room to sit and talk. Ojai is beautiful, and our stay here was perfect.
I liked the Jacuzzi and the fact it was in Ojai, California where my son now lives. The staff was pleasant when they were there. The little garden as you enter had interesting cacti. There was loud rock music playing both Saturday and Sunday night making sleep hard and guests were still partying after the bar closed on Sunday at 11 p.m. The bar is located in the cove where all the rooms are making noise unavoidable. There was no service at night with the staff coming in at 8 am. Before that, you were on your own. There is NO breakfast period. Finally, the rooms all look out on the gravel parking lot, so there were no oases to look out and enjoy the nature of Ojai.
Very chill, relax vibe. Make yourself at home feel Coffee with almond milk available in the front desk Bar Kitchen had all the supplies you needed Nice decor Swimming pool was closed for health code violation. Hotel never disclosed it publicly. TV didn't work but with staff not being there at night, couldn't get it fixed till the next day Loud creaking noises everywhere made for a uncomfortable night's rest.
The rooms were artistic, comforting and simple . The staff was informative and personable. We were enchanted by this rustic and crafty little gem.
We had an amazing stay. Highly recommended!
The Chantico Inn is very attractive, bright and cheery. It is probably a good buy for the city of Ojai. The room had no closet, only a wire rack with hangars. The lighting at the mirrors was very poor, too poor for putting on make-up. The bed was very, very high; no problem for me, but it might present a serious difficulty for someone 5' 2" or shorter, or for an elderly person. I know my 70 year old mother could not have climbed up on it, or gotten out of bed without help. When we went downstairs for the complimentary continental breakfast, the place was locked up tight, with a note saying the staff would return at 7:00 am. By 7:45 am, no one had appeared, so we gave up waiting. The following morning, we had the breakfast, but it was pretty poor, coffee, tea, and pastries wrapped in cellophane. I don't remember whether there was cereal
Had a great time in Ojai. Dinner and a community play. People were very friendly at the hotel. Bungalow was ok with a little more privacy. Flooring was separating. Bed moved on flloor. Headboard was leaning. At $200 for the night (tax included), just an ok value. Even for CA.
The Outside of the Inn is very quaint. The rooms themselves are larger than you would expect. They also seem to have little cottages as well that were bigger. Would definitely come again. The only real thing I could complain about is that they didn't clean out the fridge, there was an open bottle of Pacifico and a couple other random drinks.
Close to a lot of restaurants and some attractions. Nice view in front of the hotel. Price was descent for Ojai. Staff was friendly. Rooms are small. Walls are very thin so can hear neighbors turn I their faucets and walk around. Patio was shared with neighbor and had construction so was not useful for dog (Patio room was required to allow dog). Floors squeaked in our room. Shower mirror had black splotches on it.
The staff were friendly and super accommodating. The location was a short walk into town but far enough away to be private and less expensive. It was next door to a golf course which permitted me to surprise my husband with the opportunity to play golf, since I knew he always has his clubs and paraphenelia in his trunk. The room was very comfortable, with two queen beds (although we only needed one) with very comfortable quilts and throws on them (also plenty of pillows), a mini kitchen with microwave, fridge and electric kettle with teas and coffees) eco-friendly goods for shower, soaps, etc., a large flat screen TV, and anything else you might need and had a lovely view from the back window. (our room was on the second floor. We noticed that the first floor rooms had little patios un back.) The hotel accommodated our request for an early check-in and a late check-out.) All together a lovely stay. Oh, and they had a continental breakfast with a wafflemaker. The only things I would suggest would be: (1) perhaps to have an option for a softer pillow rather than all pillows being on the harder side and (2) consider adding hard-boiled eggs or some other form of non-dairy protein to the continental breakfast for people whom dairy is not an option. These are only suggestions, not really dislikes.
Rooms are cute, staff friendly, great location. Hard beds, no hair dryer.
Good location. Nice remodeling with a cute, modern atmosphere. Soaps smelled decent. Quiet. Smelled clean. Sheets were clean. Separated from other businesses, but still in town. Pet friendly large yard. Friendly hostess Jenna greeted us at check-in. Motel style entrances to rooms. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. No shelves for soap, etc. in showers. For the last two factors, unlikely to stay here again.
