Pros:Car was excellent, had my choice of any there, checkout and check-in were fast and easy.
Cons:Quoted rate was different than final rate at the airport by a factor of 60%. Payless associate couldn't explain the difference, so I ended up paying more, as I couldn't contact Kayak to ask.

Pros:The car ran.
Cons:Pickup happened through a different brand’s counter that had a line that was an hour long. They don’t actually employ anyone , they just outsource to other brands. During pickup there was no one to talk to to confirm that dings already on the car were present or that the car came to us with half a tank of gas or that the dashboard said “change oil soon” and had the check engine light on. This is after being offered a minivan when I booked an SUV. No... it’s not ok... drop off was similar. There is no one in the garage to hand off the car to. You just leave it with your contract and key inside (per the unoccupied booth window sign). When I got home I called to confirm the car was received ok and on time. The hotline said no it wasn’t and my contract was still open. They gave me the number of the local rental desk. I called got the hotline again. They inform me that it means the desk is busy if it transfers to them. Can you transfer me to the local deal? No. Can I speak to your manager? No. Just keep calling. All day? Yes. Seriously. After calling several times a call center lady put in a ticket. I got an email back saying the car was received that morning four hours after I dropped it off. I can’t. I just can’t. Worst customer service, ever.

Cons:Worst experience dealing with roadside assistance. I damaged the car hitting something in the road. 100% my fault. Called at 8pm to arrange a tow truck to swap out cars. 9:30am THE NEXT MORNING the facility finally got the car in and wanted to send me another car. Useless telephone support: Unable to get a hold of the branch. Was passed back and forth with nothing getting done. My $150 "PayLess" rental car cost me over $300 because of taxis I had to pay for because the car swap they promised me never happened. Avoid this company!!!!!

Cons:1) The staff person at the counter repeatedly tried to bait-and-switch me from a car to an SUV at 50% greater cost. She would not give up, saying that they were short of the cars, but had plenty of the SUVs. In fact there were numerous identical cars (down to the color) in the lot. 2) The scratch and dent form was not filled out. The Payless attendant refused to fill it out, and told me to have the exit attendant fill it out. The exit attendant was bemused when I told him what the Payless attendant told me to do. He did so with some bewildered cheer. 3) Both the counter and the lot were located at the furthest and most inconvenient locations among the rental agencies. 4) I was promised a Ford Focus with the reservation, but was given a Chevy Impala. 5) The staff were generally colorless and indifferent -- except for the initial agent who was more simply antagonizing.

Pros:Absolutely nothing except a clean bathroom
Cons:The person at the front desk was rude not compassionate to our plight He refused to honor our reservation even though it showed up at the customer service dept. he said we would have to wait about 4 hrs until our reservation showed up on his screen. We explained we must get home because of the storm and he didn't care. We even had customer service speak to him to no avail he said he could get us a car for about double
