Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was so clean! Breakfast was great. Something that everybody liked. Eating area was very clean. The was nothing that we didn't like, except the fact that we had to leave. We will definitely be back.
I liked the room, staff, location and price. It was easy to get to and convenient to everything.
The location to the beach was great It was nice, clean and quite. We had it to ourselves.the breakfast was ok, the eggs and sausage were watery and the dog wouldn't even eat them so I passed. The waffles were good. The staff was really nice to us Pam at the front desk was very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfy but small. The view is of the water but the walk way to get to the rooms runs in front of the window so if you think you're going to sit on a balcony and enjoy the view you're wrong! There is area with a picnic table and grill down by the water as well. There isn't anything within walking distance unless you are looking for a bar. When I walked in the check in there was a drunk at the desk he asked me where his pizza was, I'm not the delivery guy sorry buddy. So Pam checked me into my room and I tried ignoring the guy. I went to get my things and children out of the car the man proceeded to follow me he sat on a bench outside and smoked. He tried helping me in. At this point I'm just thinking he's a drunk and being friendly. I told him I didn't need help. So then I go to my room drunk guy is down the hall from me in 315. His friend is in the room right beside me. So now he knows where my room is and that my husband isn't on this trip with me. He proceeds to harass me because they stood out on the walkway and smoked for forever and I had to make a few trips. i complained about the guy and the next night he meets me at my door when I came in. The hotel was full of construction type workers he was one of them I ended up having to change rooms it was a hassle. So before checking in without your husbands find out if it's full of construction workers the things this guy said, in front of my children aren't something I'm going to repeat.
Location and VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS!! Non smoking room smelled like cigars when I walked in the first time
Nice view, clean room and friendly staff Walls were thin and motel atmosphere leads to loud guests
Location was best thing about hotel. Food right across road Hotel stunk. You walked in and halls smelt like mold. Whole family was sneezing non stop but fine once we left. Very musty and not worth money. Staff was just there... She acted like I was a bother to her while checking in. Didn't check id or anything. Pool was half the size of a normal small pool and beyond freezing. Wouldn't recommend this hotel at all
Staff were all very nice. Beds were comfortable. Room was reasonably clean. Online description did not match accommodations - There was no kitchenette; toilet not separated from shower. Microwave was very dirty - would not use.
The location and lobby, the room. The pool and Jacuzzi are in a pretty odd location. Also the hot tub had some murky looking water. In the morning at around 7:30am I had no hot water to shower.
Good location. Breakfast buffet was good and reasonable Room was small.
Room and bed were comfortable. Buffet breakfast was okay. Nothing special. Waiting in line with so many others for one waffle iron was a hassle.
The location was great room was cleam and nice. First hotel i have stayed at with recycling in the room. Great. The motion detected light for the bathroom i could not figure how to shut off it would go off in the middle of the night when someone ran down the hall.
Was a great place to get away for our anniversary. Nice romantic water front view.
Breakfast was great and dinner aswell. Room was nice but there was no were to change down stairs by the pool so you have to take the elevator and walk through the hotel wet. We have a very early flight and had to leave in kind of a hurry. My fiancée realized that she left her sunglasses in the room. They were a Christmas gift and rather expensive. She tryed calling the hotel and emailing the manager but was unable to get any real assistance in locating here property. The staff kind of asked like they really did not care. So if you stay there make sure you don't leave anything behind.
Very nice view of the bay from the sliding glass doors of the room. The room was large by today's standards. For the $40 a night deal I got what I paid for. The rooms was a bit outdated and there were a few little things like the toilet leaked around the base despite several layers of caulk to keep it contained.
Breakfast was great, although to eat in your room you get charged $5/plate, But the Dining room was big, had a pretty view, as did the room. It was great for a 2 night stay with a 2 and 3 year old- clean and kid friendly, all cords were tied back and out of the way, thank goodness! The noise! there was some get-together out in one of the cabins, lots of bass-y music and hoots n' hollers. If you've got enough money to spend, they'll let you party until 3-4 am! i know at least 4 others complained to the front desk between 9-11:30 pm and the noise never stopped. I wish all guests would be treated fairly, i know if my kids kept others from sleeping, it wouldn't have been tolerated.
I liked that when my girlfriend had left her sex toy the person on duty was professional and called to notify me and ask if I could return for it or for an address to mail it to. Of course I returned for it....with a smile and a thank you. I wasn't able to get to know the maid on a more personal level. I was inclined to tip her for prompt and competent service.
Pretty much everything was cool about oyster bay. Staff is friendly, breakfast is awesome, pretty much everything is good here. The need for additional cash deposit on top of my visa booking/payment online. Very inconvenient. Was not happy with this.
We stayed here for about a week when we moved and were waiting to get into our house. The breakfast was awesome, lovely pool, conveniently located within walking distance of food/entertainment, and the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Parking was $7 a day.
Friendliness. Front desk guy was very helpful and upbeat. Room attendants very friendly. Pleasant stay. Parking
Attention The attention.
Location is great. It was available on short notice. Free continental breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Too close to highway, poor TV reception & channel choice. Not enough people working at desk.
Room was nice and the location was fine The front desk person was basically rude. A decent welcome should occur when you enter a hotel instead of "what do you want". Never said welcome, thank you, enjoy you time...... Get someone else at the front desk. Someone who actually wants to do the job. Will not return
Location, large room Variable staff attitude, old mattress, threadbare sheets, dirty bedspread.
The room was clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good, especially the waffles. Staff was great.
Great motel. No complaints. Nothing.
It is tired
The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable and there were soft and firm pillows labeled and plenty of them. It was almost $200 for one night which was waaaay too much for the quality. Also, this may seem silly to some but it is important to me, they only provided a "conditioning shampoo", rather than a shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo was NOT conditioning and made my hair terribly knotty and stringy. They should not offer smoking rooms, I am a smoker but it was gross smelling. It was the only room available. It stunk so bad!!
Noisy Internet was slow in the evening
Fridge, TV, beds were comfy. My family had a wonderful stay! The breakfast far exceeded my expectations, and helped start our days vacation. The staff was available, and helpful. Location within walking distance of general stores was fantastic! The room itself was a bit small and felt cramped at times.. also, lucky I wasnt in a room by the back entrances! They were heavy, loud, and I can't imagine staying in the room next to it and getting any sleep.
Great location for an multi-night stay to visit my home town. You can walk to downtown and waterfront restaurants. Hotel staff are pleasant and helpful. Large room with all the necessities - coffee maker, micro and refrig. Coffee available in the lobby along with homemade cookies (!) after 3pm. Thin walls - you can hear adjoining room noise a little too well.
Good healthy options for breakfast, comfortable room.
All the employees were very nice. Everything was very clean and tidy. GREAT location next to the trolley. Grounds were very tidy and beautiful. Wish it was a bit more friendly for our four legged friend - it didn't seem very welcoming for the dog. Rooms and halls were dark and could use a bit more decor - felt very sparse. I expected a bit more "luxury" for the $200/nt that I paid.
The breakfast was okay and the location was good for ferry access. Our first room smelled like bad body odor. Called front desk and they transferred me to a different double queen room which also smelled bad. The second room's bathroom was dirty and did not have bathtub , just a shower. I had my 6 year old with me, so the no tub would not work. Instead of giving us a King bed room, which the attendant said she couldn't do because we reserved our room through a online third party, we resorted back to the original stinky room. The attendant said the room stunk because they have a lot of government workers that stay extended times. Really though, that is a terrible reason to have stinky rooms. My sister's room stunk as well. Will not be staying here again.
The shower head Comparible prices to WAY better quality hotels, the room smelled disgusting, the walls thin, the staff just flirted with construction workers, I literally have never stayed anywhere this bad. Oyster bay, flagship, similarly priced and way better/ safer, don't bring your kids here. Disgusting.
The hotel had changed hands the day I checked in. The front desk computers didn't work my entire stay, housekeeping missed my room the first day I was there, the breakfast consisted of bagged 7-11 type pastries and coffee, and my wakeup call never came on my checkout morning. The staff were apologetic but the facilities were pretty poor.
clean and comfortable. The airport shuttle picked me up there
The girl at the front desk was fantastic.
Soaps and lotion, breakfast was great, very well maintained very clean and smelled good. Absolutely nothing.
Place looked dirty and run down, I was afraid to sleep in the covers. The room was really small and I'm pretty sure our "queen" bed was a full. I feel like this is a place drug attics go to rent rooms, to be honest. The older lady didn't even greet us when we checked in.. It was more of "what do you want?" When we walked up. Not "hi welcome, how can I help you?" Right when I got there I called around to all the other area hotels to see if I could switch places to stay and for some reason this weekend everything was sold out. Pay the extra money and stay some where else, yikes!
Air conditioner worked great. Staff was unorganized. Called me at 11:30pm to verify my credit card information...could that not wait until checkout? They entered in the card # wrong. Called desk to ring a cab, waited for over an hour to find she never called and tried to play it off.
The lady at the desk allowed my granddaughter to use her bathroom when she was desperate. I also enjoyed the breakfast bar. One of the best I had ever seen. For a 2.5 star rating, it was in a less then desirable part of town, people from the parking lot were talking to people on the 3rd floor. The room was tiny and it smelled a little funny.
Consistent personal staff The rates quotes did not match the summer rate, quoted $65 and had to pay $75. They stated that Kayak made the error
There was a really sweet dog there that one of the front desk people had with them. It was super friendly, and she (the human) was super friendly as well. Also, the guy who was there at my checkout was nice. Trees behind the place were very green. Though the bed wasn't horrible, it was actually decent to sleep on, pillows were all right, and the sheets were clean. There was also a refrigerator and a microwave in the room, though as I did not use them, I cannot tell you if they did indeed work. Driveway and parking isn't great. Paid for a nonsmoking, room still smelt like an ashtray. It totally fell out of a horror movie, and really did seem like the kind of place where you go and get murdered in the middle of the night by some crazy mountain people, or the unhinged guy staying down the way. TVs were only about 25 years old, and though they had cable they did not get cartoon network. They also did that static thing that all TVs from the late 80s/early 90s did when you turned them on. Picture quality is just as bad as you imagine. There were paper cups by the sink, they were not wrapped in anything, and I was scared to death to touch them. No idea how long they had been there, and there was no way to tell if they had been used. Seriously though, you might get murdered here.
Price Not all rooms are non-smoking
