10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and amenities. If we asked for it we got it. Yoga mat, ice, corkscrew, and maintenance. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really beautiful. Fantastic view into the harbour.
Cons: Some of the new renovations were not checked thoroughly for functionality. Toilet ran and needed adjustment. The sliding door into the bathroom could not be opened or closed without significant effort. Maintenance could not fix it as the door is too heavy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a true 5 star experience
Cons: The AC in the room had a very strong fan, even when turned down low - it did not extend to the bed so it worked for me but if I had sat at the desk, it was to the point of uncomfortable. But the overall hotel experience was first rate.

Cons: A bit expensive but really nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went for the 4th of July holiday and felt so comfortable in the small and warmly decorated hotel. Being such a crowded weekend, we never felt overwhelmed due to the hotel being near MIT and no school in session over the summer.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location and really close to MIT. Breakfast is good but the foods are the same every day.
Cons: Limited control of HVAC system inside the room. Unable to set the preferred thermostat temperature.

Cons: Maybe a drink vending machine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, a former firehouse, has a beautiful feel. The very opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and comfortable.
Cons: The location, in the center of Kendall Square, is difficult to park in. The hotel does have a small underground lot (which is great) but the fit is right. Despite a warning from front desk staff, we still managed to nick the front bumper...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great location, Wi-Fi hotspot in every room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As an old firehouse, this hotel has great character and is a nice respite from typical chain hotels. The breakfast was excellent and afternoon wine was a nice touch. This hotel provides a wonderful experience for guests and is a very good value.
Cons: Parking was very tight
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: They called and cancelled room on me even though I was given a confirmation number - at 8:30 pm the night of check in! I had to try and find a room standing on the street corner - totally unacceptable.

Pros: Best experience. We stay in hotels a lot and this one had all the ingredients of what we hope for! Staff, hotel decor, breakfast buffet and the room layouts and cleanliness were all awesome. Fire pit and pool were great additions. Loved it here!
Cons: Only negative we could note was that the ice machines didn't seem to be working on the floors, but because it was a minor thing, we didn't inquire to desk/maintenance, who I am sure would have provided a solution since they had such pride in their work!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and modern, plenty of lights and outlets. Loved the bathroom. Loved the location
Cons: The toilet was clogged the first day, but was fixed fast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place is clean and arrangement
Cons: Everything's good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location , unique style, large room, pantry,
Cons: No separate Restroom Limited view (wall)
5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff is friendly
Cons: Rooms were decorated in such a manner that it almost echoed when we spoke. Parking totally stinks. Valet parking for $40 per day should be in something better than a dirt lot. Could hear every noise in the hallway. Beds were hard. For &300 per night, there should at least be a mini fridge in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very tasteful design of lobby, rooms, bathroom, very clean and well-maintained. The all-day open pantry with free coffee/tea, candies and fruits is a bonus!
Cons: NONE. Our window looks out to a construction site but we were not bothered by any noise. Not the hotel's fault as there is development all around the Row!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hip Hotel in a great location.
Cons: coffee in room was very weak and when I went downstairs there was none left in the lobby
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Had some confusion about checking in late. Even though I had called ahead of time.
Hotel Commonwealth - Boston - Building

8.9 Excellent (3,264 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Boston (Fenway–Kenmore), Hotel Commonwealth is within a 10-minute walk of House of Blues Boston and Fenway Park. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and express check-in. Planning an event in Boston? This hotel features 12500 square feet (1161 square meters) of event facilities.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is well appointed and staff is friendly and accommodating
Cons: The hotel advertises that the resort fee covers a coffee and fruits or pastry at Eastern Standard but eastern standard is consistently out of either fruit or pastry! The false advertising is a bit of a let down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Staff was amazing, so professional and helpful. Located near Fenway Park, not too far from historic hub. Public transportation was easy to access.
Cons: Would have liked better token "on the go" breakfast option. No access to ice without housekeeping delivery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite, decorated in BU memorabilia. Given that my wife and I attended BC, that was ironically funny. The suite, however, was spacious and lovely.
Cons: No criticism.
5.8 Okay
Cons: This hotel is just basic. It should be priced at $500+ a night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel Commonwealth is a great hotel, nice staff people who are always available to help you. The number one thing about this hotel is location location location. Kenmore station is literally right out the door, the green line can get you anywhere in the city in about 20 minutes. The rooms, even the more affordable ones are spacious. The beds are comfy with the swishy hotel pillows that everyone loves. The entire hotel is managed well, and the interiors are beautiful. I highly recommend room service after a long day of walking the city, the late night menu has some delicious bites at reasonable rates.
Cons: Only things I would caution about this hotel, the free breakfast is a is simply a small pastry (if they have not run out) and a iced or hot coffee with milk and sugar. If you want a room with a view you need to pay more and call in advance to confirm you have been given a room with a view of the city or fenway park. Last draw back is parking. The valet is over 50$ a day. We checked in on a Friday and out on a Monday. We intentionally left and checked in the way we did to avoid paying extra for parking. In the end we were only charged for two overnights because we left early.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and modern. Everyone was very helpful from the valet to the checkin staff. The room was spacious and clean. It has a very modern look for the Fenway area.
Cons: The hotel was almost too modern. The hotel in very close to Fenway and that is why we chose this hotel. Unfortunately that is all it is really close to. They have a valet but this come with a steep parking fee.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It is a good location.
Cons: apart from location I did not like anything else. I had the feeling that they are trying to charge me for everything and treat me as if I was going to run away without paying. Overall it was a very uncomfortable feeling. The room was large but very badly designed. The heating was like in the highway hotels - either working too much or not working. Way too expensive for it offers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Your front desk staff's check in and check out process was exemplary! Thank you!
Cons: Yes, the fact that we had to go to the Eastern Standard for a cup of coffee.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, lobby, staff, location.
Cons: Expensive parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing scent hits you when you walk in the entrance doors. The staff greeted us warmly and immediately offered us snacks and checked us in quickly. The room was fresh, modern, clean. Comfortable beds. Go to onsite Hawthorne for amazing cocktails!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very pretty rooms and loved location
Cons: The cost
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We drove from NJ and arrived before check-in. Our room was ready. The room was very spacious and nice. Having a smart TV in the room was a plus. It was within walking distance of all the sights we expected to visit. But be sure to have tour walking shoes.
Cons: It was a 30 min walk from the Freedom Trail. Only two small free water bottles provided. Were charged $58 per day for valet parking. We only stayed 2 days.

Pros: Awesome rooms.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was not worth the price!!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: fantastic location in the heart of Boston Harbor district. Many good restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Great views of the water and downtown.
Cons: no
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities.
Cons: Horrible Internet plan and room service requests. Housekeeping was fine.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: TV was broken KEURIG coffee maker broken
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect and the facilities were clean and comfortable! The staff was very helpful.
Cons: I didn’t like that breakfast wasn’t included in your stay for the price you pay for the hotel. You are paying for location which is perfect and the views are gorgeous. They do have a star bucks in the lobby as well as the restaurant but still provide you with keurig coffee in the morning which is nice!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, restaurant
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Walking distance to Little Italy and the Historic North End and the trolley stop is right outside the hotel as well as the dock for the Harbor Cruises.
Cons: They had no parking available to guests at all. If you wanted to park in their lot it was valet only and $68 per night. I feel like you pay enough for the room that parking should be less than the other available lots that are close but it was not. This was not well advertised and when we pulled up to the hotel we had no idea what to do.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, view, cleanliness
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely building and room. Great location.
Cons: Poor service in the restaurant with main course brought to the table when only halfway through starter. Bearing in mind the cost of the food (and $22 for a glass of wine) plus the fact that at the time there were only four tables occupied in the restaurant it was not the service that we expected, but the restaurant manager was not interested and said it was normal to serve food when “fresh” regardless of timing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, good view and location. Staff were very helpful. Concierge Jeffrey was very helpful in obtaining our boarding passes since business center was closed for repairs.
Cons: Had several instances where room keys didn't work in elevator or room entry. Room was hot, AC didn't seem to work the first night. Complimentary or more reasonably priced breakfast would have been nice considering we paid for 2 rooms. $29 per person
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel and great location
Cons: Very expensive breakfast and parking
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect! Loved walking to aquarium and shops and restaurants at Quincy market and boat tours ! Hotel was clean. Room small but was fine to sleep 4, not much drawers no dresser, just two smalll drawers under tv. Pool small so too crowded
Cons: Pool too small

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms and bathroom.
Cons: This hotel doesn't provide free bottled water in the rooms, at this price point that is unusual and poor practice.
6.7 Good
Cons: No turn down service. On the Saturday, when we got back to our room at 16h00 it had still not been made up.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room is very nice and spacious with great bathroom. There is a TV in the bathroom mirror built-in. Very cool.
Cons: Front desk service was not great
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location being so close to Harvard. The room was great and fell a notch above what I was expecting.
Cons: The pool was not part of the hotel but connected and therefore had weird restrictions on kids using the pool.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Racist
Cons: Racist folks. Will never go back. In fact, I believe to have been overcharged. I will contact Amex on this.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The price is always so high.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent farm to table restaurant and bar.
Cons: Although they had a parking garage, the elevator to the lobby was out of order so you had to take the stairs and the stairs lead to outside the front entrance. Very inconvenient if carrying any bags from the car and also because of sub-zero temps that weekend. Also no in and out access for self parking at $40 per night. If you leave you have to pay again.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Room service very fast, and extremely polite room service staff. Beleaguered front desk staff dealing with irate guests kept their patience. They need more support from mgmt. Restaurant is good; really good coffee in lobby in early a.m.
Cons: Multiple, extended power outages occurred; Hotel said due to construction, not their fault--yet construction was on their premises. Fire? alarm problems, PA messages = epic fail. Insufficient instruction to guests. Requested wakeup call--did not receive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedding (down comforter, great pillows), and the air quality/climate control were outstanding. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bed was actually more comfortable than my bed and home (and I'm fussy). The pool was excellent.
Cons: No coffee maker in the room. Refrigerator packed with overpriced bar stuff. I was annoyed, but the NY Times outside the door in the morning put the smile back on my face.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with excellent service and nice trait ants around in the plaza
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, rooms are well-appointed, spacious, super comfortable bed. Dining and beverage selections are great.
Cons: Loud wall clock in room.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The room was overpriced and shabby - the entire property needs a facelift.

Pros: Great location in Cambridge. Close to the bridge to cross into downtown Boston. Plenty of places to eat and drink close by. Nice, clean and safe area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice, however a different selection (bacon) would have been nice for a breakfast selection.
Cons: Complementary water bottle and bacon at breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very close to MIT. Hotel was quiet, room was large and breakfast was very good. Service was quick. This was our second time staying, if we come to this area again we will definitely stay here again. Enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Everything was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff as a whole smiled and greeted us when we came into contact. Reception staff well informed and obtained taxis when none were waiting outside. Room kept spotless. Breakfast staff worked hard and I was delightfully reprimanded for reading from my phone and not a book as my wife was doing. I did get praise when I to had a book with me.
Cons: Very happy with all aspects of our stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the fact that it was very quiet!! Perfect for getting that good sleep!!
Cons: The parking lot fees was over the top!! Plenty of room and space to offer free parking.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing truthfully. The entry way looked pretty I guess and if the windows we clean the view would have been cool
Cons: Our AC was broken, windows dirty, hallway need to be vacuumed, the staff did not know what to do. 13 a day for parking that they do not tell you about. They are located way up on a hill by themselves, no where else to park and only people parking at
1.0 Poor
Cons: Parking was horrible!! Almost non existent!! Rude staff!! Restaurant food was nasty and poor service! My prime rib was tough and potato cold. Sent the potato back and finally got it after I finished my meal! Will never stay here again!
7.1 Good
Pros: Good room, nice view. Nice big TV in the room, though it's (as usual) poorly adjusted for color and the soap-opera-effect. You can't fix this, because they lock out the settings.
Cons: Value is poor - they charge a high rate, and then don't even include parking (they charge extra for this)? Rooms are good, nothing amazing.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: There were multiple problems with my room including the shower jets not working , the cold water in the jacuzzi tub not working I had to wait 2 hours for the water to cool down to be able to use it, maintenance came up to try and fix it but ended up taking the cold water handle off and it looked horrible, the temperature knob in the fridge fell off, one of heaters didn't work and the small cover to the controls fell off, and 2 different lights didn't work.
7.5 Good
Pros: Joe
Cons: Mouse in our room so we moved to a different room and it was noisy until late into the night in our new room. The schuttle driver was late picking us up for our ride to the airport the next morning and was kind of testy when he did arrive. Joe the manager was very professional!!
