Location Chef was terrible. Badly in need of re-furbishing due to start in July
Restaurant is open till late and dinner can be delivered to room. View from restaurant is also great. Nothing to complain about room. Door is supposed to be locked from outside once it's closed but the lack of manual lock somewhat doesn't give sense of security given the room is far from reception. Bath cubicle door can't close properly so water trickles down to the floor and reaches room carpet.
Acces from M25 convenient for city/country access Layout of the hotel, room to reception, bar etc.
Great staff. Very helpful.
absolutely nothing Everything, dirty, scruffy, rude staff poor room & bathroom when mentioned at departure all the receptionist could say was that yes the room was not the best !!
All staff were polite and helpful and the location is very convenient it was annoying that there was no hot water in the afternoon i was there
The location was ideal for a meeting I had that day. Food in the restaurant was very umpleasant. Lighting in the restaurant was poor. Lighting in my bedroom was very bad. There was virtually no water to the shower and what little there was was only warm. \hotel corridors were very cold and there were few signs so it was easy to get lost.
Room-only price was good value. Large room with balcony which would have been great if it had been summer. Convenient location close to m25. Staff were helpful & friendly. Heater/air conditioning unit had a mind of it's own. Room was huge, but nowhere to hang clothes, just a sticky-out rail with no coat hangers. Regular tv channels limited (loads of pay-per-view stuff). Food, particularly breakfast, was very expensive.
Large room, comfortable bed, friendly, helpful staff Traffic noise, sound from adjoining room - I could clearly hear their toilet being used at 5am.
Reception did not answer telephone despite trying many times. Room service food was not cooked through. (Chicken was raw in center).
Friendly, responsive staff: responded very well to request for dunlopillo rather than feather pillow for my mother who suffers from allergies. No.
Nothing at all, Room & bathroom too cramped. Trying to locate the room was like finding your way in a rabbit warren
easy to find, lots of parking, convenient noisy when window open as next to main road, quite empty when i stayed.
Reception lady made me feel very welcome At the time of my stay it would appear that there were very few staff available with the person working on reception having to take dinner orders and serve in the bar. It was not clear that there would only be a limited dinner menue.
easy access from M25 and lots of parking. hotel is quiet considering its position on reigate hill. pricing of food etc very high and although staff competent they are not very helpful about luggage etc.
Easy to find, clean and a very good breckfast Noisy neighbour
Location Bath could have been much cleaner and I requested Reception to ensure House Keeper advised.
For the price (£71.00 for double room) it was value for money. It fulfilled our requirements and is only 15 minutes walk downhill into Reigate. Such prices seem to attract people who's conduct is a little noisy. Excessive use of firedoors and partition walls means there will be little peace and quiet.
It served our purpose of an overnight stay after attending a celebration party in Reigate.
Tasteful decoration. Charming gentleman. Comfortable amenities. Room on front, requires double glazing and toilet doesn't flush too well.
I was treated as special and it was central and comfortable
very friendly and helpful staff no
Superb breakfast, best in any hotel we have stayed in, hotel in process of being upgraded to a very high standard, very comfortable beds and pillows, staff extremely helpful, will stay there again The only bad point was on the night we stayed it was extremely hot so in order to cool down we had to leave the windows open so the traffic noise kept us awake but you can request a fan which we would do next time
Welcoming and friendly, clean, beautifully decorated, lovely dining area, conservatory & gardens. None
Very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Ideally situated. Excellent breakfast. Will certainly come again sooner than later.
The hotel owners were welcoming and the hotel pleasant.
Location was convenient. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Great service, very clean and good value
Lovely small hotel just off the town centre with car park by the front door!. Room much better than photos on the website. Very clean and smart with nice furnishings. No
So convient in the south terminal at gatwick. Clean and everything you need for one night. Didn't hear any planes, which I was worried about.
it was IN the airport terminal The terminal is DEPRESSING. No WINDOWS! It’s like a little luxury prison cell. There was no private area in the hotel to do online work, went to one of the more human feeling pub-like restaurants.
Very comfy bed and very friendly staff! Shower wasn't separated from the rest of the bathroom, so the entire bathroom floor was soaked.
Staff were friendly. Room very clean. Beds comfortable, not sagging in my middle as some are. Excellent location for Gatwick airport travellers. Good restaurants. Priced reasonably. They view! But cannot help that. But the large windows were nice.
Ease and access to airport None
There wasn't anything not to like. We arrived at 7.00 pm and left at 5.00 a.m. Did not like the restaurant. We booked a table and the food was not up to the standard we would have expected.
location was why I selected this hotel. location was excellent Very expensive!
location to the terminal restaurant was expensive
The lovely atrium and the easy access to Gatwick airport together with helpful and friendly staff.
The Softel is less than five minutes walk from the Gatwick check-in desks via a slopped covered walkway. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere throughout warm and friendly. An excellent place to spent the before an early flight, I would definitely stay again.
The location is excellent. Staff were efficient but a little arrogant. Problems connecting to the internet in the room. The connection was very slow. The location of the room safe at floor-level is ridiculously inconvenient. The safe did not work. I'll try the Hilton next time.
The best part was the access to the airport which allowed us to wake up and check in easily. The location was fantastic and the staff were very very helpful. Will definitely use this hotel everytime i am flying out of gatwick.
Convenient location on airport Price of room service breakfast
Ease of accessing the internet
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We could only find one working ice machine in the hotel. The bed bugs we encountered weren't very pleasant either.
Our reservation was not in the system. They did not give us access to Internet for our booking but we understood that free Internet would be included based on the booking criteria.
The hotel is tired. Thankfully, I was upgraded to a newer room. Mattress is super hard. To get to the room, you must walk tons. The hotel needs serious renovation. Because options are limited for overnight flight.
Location and very comfortable bef Everything is fine for me
The convenience of the location, the beds were very comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken when we arrived and the room was incredibly hot. The engineer was very nice and apologized quickly and requested a room change. It then took concierge a further hour to relocate us (10 rooms down the hall). At which point our children were completely starving and exhausted. The food in the garden restaurant buffet was mostly good, though expensive, but we were seated in a dark corner because we were a family, where the staff were already setting the tables for breakfast around us. Service was polite but very slow and waiters were unaware of the fact that children ate for free.
Great location A little pricey!
The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient! There could be a few more amenities to may the stay more memorable.
Proximity to airport The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.
Location and staff very old decor in room and bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, missing towels and only one set of pillows were provided
Restaurant way over priced. Not many options for a reasonable, casual meal.
Easy access to the airport with complimentary shuttle to and from. A nice breakfast included with room price.
Ease of getting around, helpful and friendly staff, generally quiet location
easy access to gatwick airport with pick up/drop off by the hotel. after europe did find it rather expensive to eat and bar prices very high, but this is england!
The young man who picked me up at the airport and checked me in was extremely helpful in pointing me toward some of the nearby sights I would otherwise have missed. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and just all-around nice. I loved the community, and the hotel's location, and the convenience of the airport transfers made entire visit outstanding. I would absolutely stay there again, and would highly recommend to others.
An excellent hotel. Superb location with a fabulous atmosphere. Great staff.
Lovely boutique hotel, clean, fresh with lots of character, will stay again.
friendliness of staff and Pub down stairs. I suggest people choose the continental breakfast!
I liked the convenient airport transportation. Relaxing and friendly lounge in which to have a drink. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Great place to stay to catch a flight at Gatwick. No complaints.
Very reasonably priced.
Since we didn't need to use their 5 GBP shuttle service to Gatwick, their price was goodl. Bar nice but empty, did not try the food. Proximity to Six Bells pub was the best feature. Parking tight and tricky.
The location is great, rooms clean and staff helpful. Waiting for the lifts became quite a pain. I was lucky on the 2nd floor so could take the stairs, but even at 5am it was difficult. Wanted to try the restaurant too, but very busy - would have had to wait over an hour - lucky there's lots nearby or across at the south terminal.
The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. Food was good and rooms comfortable and clean.
Very close to airport Lack of check in service
staff and food
The surroundings to the hotel were very picturesque and the inside of the hotel was beautiful. The library and main hall were particularly stunning. The view from our room over looked the car park and leisure centre which wasn't the best considering the hotel is situated among acres of countryside. As we were a young couple visiting the hotel i felt a little out of place amongst some of the older members of staff and residents. This is only because of a few instances when I politely said hello while passing them and in return was given nothing but an uninpressed scowl. Quite frankly my girlfriend and I found this very rude! Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.
The setting and the building TV in Suite was dreadfull
venue was great, food was good Portions at the restaurant are small but the food is good! Ask for a room with a view - its great (otherwise you will only get to see the carpark!)
event coordinator for luncheon was excellent and deserves this special mention restaurant staff reluctant to book after 9 30 pm even though hotel residents
I found the peace and tranquility of the surrounding area was complemented by the atmosphere and experience i found within the hotel. It was a most relaxing and peaceful break enhanced by excellent facilities.
unfortunately did not have a lot of time to experience the hotel but were i able to get a good rate there again would go back possibly for longer next time
Staff very friendly & helpful Nothing
The room was excellent, but the restaurant was very disppointing - slow , poor service - waiter showed no interest and no atmosphere. It was so slow I forgot which course I was on. I would stay at gotel again but not use the restaurant for an evevning meal. Restaurant service
I Thought the rooms were lovely. The breakfast area was also very nice I thought the general decor needed attention, throughout the hotel. Lots of paint flaking on woodwork. The Bar was very disappointing, the furniture was in poor repair ,and for such a huge room it was soul less. Manybe the Hotel is in need of a renovation in reception rooms.
Very clean, quite place, frendly staff, nice breakfast, None
Everything to my liking and very easy to reach with the public transport. Could n't always get the toilet to flush properly.
Quality of room, house, dinning room. Efficacy and kindly staff. Very good house keeping of the house and the room. Services were high quality level (bathroom, beds, towels... ). Room was very quiet and well sound isolated (despite very close Gatwick aiport) Honestly, I have'nt any negative point to report, because the overall level of services is in accordance with what we are looking for, regarding quality/cost ratio
Another fabulous stay at immaculate well located establishment close to all amenities. Home from home, but with all the trimmings.
location to local transportation to London and the Gatwick airport and the local shops and freindly staff
Very friendly family run Guest House. Excellent breakfast - next time I might be tempted to pay the extra for a full breakfast.
The staff were all tremendous and willing to make your stay easier. Very helpful during the stay single bed in family room was extremely hard mattress could feel the springs through.
After spending six weeks in France and the U.K. this hotel proved to be not only the best facility for the money, but the best facility in every way. They responded to our every need and helped us immensely in working out the London travel segment of our journey through train tips. Awesome service! Too short of a stay!
Nice - clean and close to airport and train
The facilities and food were excellent and the location of the guest house was ideal as it allowed the opportunity to go for a walk in the area and was close to the village and local shops, pubs and restaurants. N/A
the mattress and bedding was excellent paying for the parking
Easy to find location from website and is signposted when on the approaching road. Polite friendly staff and clean hotel.
Convienent location Dreadfull catering & and catering staff
Clean and wide room very low water pressure from the tap
wide and clean room The reservation through Arora hotel web site does not work.
Very near the railway station -
It's in a great central location, so you can go out in Crawley & eat/drink/shop etc. Even though it's next to the railway line, we didn't hear the trains. Hotel decoration lovely, very clean, very helpful staff and it has excellent facilities. Our room was very spacious & they'd thought of everything. En-suite was huge compared to other hotels, it had a separate bath & shower. Lots of thought had been put into the design & comfort of the room/hotel. Really pleased with the hotel & we'd definately stay there again, especially if we were taking our daughter, as there are connecting rooms. Also have a shuttle bus to Gatwick airport which is really close by, but again didn't hear any noise from the planes.
close to station, high standrad of facilities, excellent food.
The staff is very friendly and hard working The trains are very loud
Charged for 2 breakfast but was alone. Should have asked me first before charging.
Generally good, but WiFi sign in system a hassle and card swipe door keys real pain rarely if ever worked first time and usually took 3-4 tries at least.
I booked for 2 nights, flight problems lead to me missing my first night and arriving very late the next. On arrival I was lead to believe my booking had been canceled and the hotel was full After 2 hours I was given a room and my booking re-instated. Why was this necessary, I had a booking, I arrived, to wait until 3:30am to be given my room was almost unbelievable.
Check-in was quick and easy, room was very clean and new, despite being attached to the airport it was extremely quiet, and the wifi was excellent. The included breakfast was fantastic - huge and varied - much appreciated before an early morning flight. Also had dinner in the same lounge area the night before and all of the staff who served us were lovely. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. The only negative I can come up with is that it is in the north terminal and I was flying out of the south, but that's hardly much of an issue because the tram between the two is all of a 3 minute walk from the hotel door.
Great location for an overnight connection. Clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast
The room was very clean and comfortable. The que for checking in was quite long and we waited a while.
It was fair stay but not comfortable......the service must improve ...also the menu must be changed and finally the stafff must inform their customers about the breakfast time,we asked the reception and they said breakfast is served till 10.30pm and when we came down at 9.30..they advsied that it's finished... service and menu....
Absolutely aweful service, terrible customer relations, poor food.. no choice. Room service was a joke! Had to help other customers...
Location poor from airport ....No Air con in rooms and windows couldnt open .Water cold in shower ...a dreadful experience for a Ramada Hotel .
Very close to Gatwick Airport. Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice hotel. As window didn't open, had to leave air conditioning on all night which was very noisy, so didn't sleep very well.
TV control doesn't work
Convenient location Noise of air conditioning system, inability to get fresh air into room, always having to wait for attention at reception
the room was clean and tidy on arriving at the hotel you have to pay for your car parking even for the time you are staying in the hotel. The hotel even those it has a 4 star rating there is no one to take your bags and show you to your room
restful & quiet atmosphere, giving us time to unwind after a hectic 6week tour of the U.K.. Staff were helpful & very pleasant,& food was great.
First time I have had to pay for a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The whole point in staying near the hotel is that normally you get free courtesy transport
very clean / friendly staff limited wine list that was overly expensive.
This hotel is excellent for flights from Gatwick.the Management and staff are both friendly, courteous and helpful
Clean - nice room with ensuite - quiet - friendly
Friendly and helpful staff, good service, hotel facilities clean and in good order, no problems. None apart from the weather!
Pleasant and friendly staff; Easy to find location; Enjoyable breakfast; Generally, very clean throughout. Guest House staff didn't know we had booked and it was a bit embarassing on arrival; Very cold in the bedroom, with no portable heater available, when asked.. Decor, is 'dated' and tired throughout some of the Guest House
free parking charged extra for credit card although not stated in booking.com , heating was not working , Unclean room , internet down , early checkout and staff not friendly
Easy to book, location was excellent for walk into town and proximity to Gatwick. Lodgings were clean and in good order The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in.
they kindly allowed me to store my bags between check-out and my late afternoon flight. the bathroom was very clean. lovely house. •WIFI: the wifi internet was super slow, and then shut down entirely. unacceptable in a developed country. •DIRTY: there was a old fan in the room that turned on, but didn't blow any air. the wiring around the fan was entirely coated in dust. disgusting. it clearly had not been cleaned in months, which shows a lack of attention to detail. •CHECKOUT: checkout is at 10am. considering people have afternoon flights, would it really kill them to allow guest to checkout at 11am or noon? i never heard of a 10am checkout at such a small guest house. •ODD: the owner quoted a 7 pound taxi to the airport but it was 8. i don't care about the money, but this again shows a lack of attention to detail considering they must send several people to the airport daily. not knowing the price of such a core part of the stay seems strange.
near the airpot cheaper then going to London and overnight rather old matresses on beds
My daughter and I stayed. Lovely place!
Close proximity to Gatwick. Also had a train stop close by. The bed was not so comfortable. Very lumpy.
Everything provided that was needed and rooms clean. No. other than we had to lift our cases into the car taking us to airport (we are not young people) but the driver was female so there was no way round it.
I was very late coming in , but I had a very warm reception and was taken to my room very quickly , it was very homely and I was so sorry I only spent one night . My phone was ringing all the time , only to discover somehow calls were coming to my room not reception . Also the cold water didn't work in the shower . I did let them know
due to this nice garden and anchient atmosphere cold floor in a bathroom
Friendly staff, attentive and efficient. No milk in the room for tea or coffee.
A beautiful hotel set in great location. Will have to take the wife there sometime!!
It is a very convenient setting for Gatwick airport but the actual building and surroundings are beautiful. the room was very stylishly furnished. a luxurious bathroom and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A real gem.
Truly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff is extremely kind and professional, and my room was magniificently decorated. The bathtub was even big enough for me, and at 6'3 that's rare to find. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, and the hotel grounds are gorgeous and well kept. I hope to have a chance to stay again someday for more than a one night visit.
Great hotel...all very good.
Every thing. The atmosphere. Just every thing is perfekt for a weekend stay with your wife
Fantastic setting, well furnished rooms and great service
wonderfully comfortable beds, gorgeous bathrooms. Very helpfull staff, and the most excellent breakfast I've ever had! Needs to have lighting that comes on when you walk round to the suits in the dark.
The personal attention and quality of accomodation
Welcoming and helpful Main road noise in ground floor room.
This is a little gem. Very close to Gatwick without airport noise. The innkeepers are wonderful, the rooms super clean and comfortable, close to a charming pub that serves hearty fare until 10pm. Wonderful.
clean comfortable room near good pub woth good menu
The free collection and return to Gatwick airport was excellent and well organised with all the information about freephone and telephone number arriving by email. It is a family run hotel and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were advised to reserve a table at the nearby 'pub' which we did and where we had a delicious evening meal. The breakfast was excellent and the conservatory very pleasant for relaxing in.
Closeness to transport and able to use laptop in room nice and clean and good choice of breakfast (Not any) only that it is not a hotel but a guest house and on arrival from air port on asking about the gatwick house hotel no one knew there was a hotel called that on that I did not mind it being a guest as it was just as good
The warm friendly attitude of the owners and staff when my arrival flight was delayed and the welcome next morning to an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.
Standard of room comfort, cleanliness etc Price too steep, especially G and T in the evening and coffee pot in the morning coming to about nineteen quid!
This Hotel is first class - and the Restaurant & Brasserie of a particularly high standard - congratulations to all who made our stay so comfortable and successful. We have already "well advertised" the Burford Bridge - and we will return! Slight disappointment in being accommodated in the Annex - due to my partial disability - however I did just cope with the garden steps and the annex location was peaceful & pleasant. The fact that there were wedding functions at that time was perhaps the reason for our accommodation being in the annex - which was understandable
Peace and quiet
excellent food and good service
Beautiful place, very helpful staff - and lots of happy memories from the past! Not really a "not like" - but we did tell them that it was our Golden Wedding anniversary - and our room was three flights up, with no lift!!
Staff who appeared more concerned about our comfort, satisfaction & value for money, than how much we spent! Small room
I was so disappointed following check in that I can't remember anything that stood out. We arrived late following our wedding. The man on reception talked about protecting his eyes with glasses and didn't even say congratulations! (Yes, I was in a white dress and my husband was in a suit so it was prettly obvious). It was a shame as we had felt so special all day, After checking in it just left us feeling a bit flat - it would have been nice to have been welcomed. Also, we weren't told the times for breakfast and I could find no information in the room telling us. After the experience at check in I didn't want to call and ask so we took a chance and arrived a couple of minutes before 10am. The waitress who spoke to us was abrupt and acted as if we were inconveniencing her. All in all, not very good or welcoming.
Excellent breakfasts Hotel in need of better cleaning and overall refurbishment
Quite room and location Certain requests for room service and cancelling early morning call did not happen. We did not get the items ordered and got a call when we cancelled this, rather frustrating.
The hotel staff were very helpful and tried their best under what appeared to be difficult conditions ie not enough staff on duty . the waiter in the bistro seemed to be taking orders, serving food and drinks, all on his own. He was extremely polite and friendly but couldn't cope with all this and a very slow kitchen. The food, when it came, was very good Waited hours for food to be served in the bistro, on both the fri and sat night. Menu in the dining room wasn't inspiring.noise from the functions stopped at midnight but was very loud until then ( rooms near the function room not sound proofed ). Grouting in the bathroom not to the high standard I expected from a Mercure hotel.
breakfast available at any time after I arrived
The Guest House was close to Gatwick and it was very handy to be driven to the airport. The owner also recommended a great pub where we had a very good meal. ( we would never have found it on our own). The reservation was waiting for us and the room was lovely.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. The room smelled of smoke when I first arrived. The walls were thin and I could every sound from the room next door. Breakfast was only continental.
Extremely clean and beautiful room but the internet did not work and my son had to re roue it and there was no one around to ask. See above
First class service from start to finish. Couldn't have been more helpful thank you.
Comfortable beds! nothing, great experience.
Cleanliness, transportation to and from airport and staff friendliness Breakfast service could have been better
Room was small but very clean and pleasant. The owner was very helpful and very prompt shuttling to and from the airport. I would stay here again and have recommended to a friend.
Near to the airport. Staff were nice.
friendly and amiable owners. 10 minute easy walk to town. no
I liked that we could have breakfast at any time we wanted (e.g. 5.00) and that they ordered the taxi to the airport for us (and payed it).
Reception was very responsive to my e-mail queries. Room was comfortable and clean. Free wireless internet was a big plus. None.
In the room there was everything you could need from razors to a folder that had every takeaway/restaurant menu in the area.
This is the second time we have used Rosemead and on both occasions we have been delighted with service received. We will use the guesthouse on future journeys without a doubt.
Good value for the money, rooms were roomy for two adults and two children, excellent cooked to order breakfast, convenient to Gatwick airport. Decent selection of restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor, but was clean.
I like the most facilities in room about the tea/coffee,hot chocolate with cookies and also cleanliness of the guest house. I had a good sleep. Have very limited vegetarian breakfast.
Bed was comfortable and the place was decent Owner had very bad communication skills and acted as if we were intruding when we needed help with something. Heard afterwards from others that she runs people off with attitude.
Friendly and efficient owner. Excellent breakfast and convenient for early morning flights
We were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean (smelled great) and dust free though a tad small but the bed was most comfortable. Teas, coffees and cookies greet you when you walk into the room..... wonderful idea. The bathroom was fabulously tidy and the shower was relaxing. The breakfast prepared by the host was fabulous. The grounds were pretty and secure. It was very close to Town where we shopped and within walking distance too nice eating places, pubs, and a laundertte and so we didn't rent a car. It was also very close to Gatwick Airport, the Horley Train Station and the buses. Taxis arranged by the hotel were on time. All in all, we made an excellent choice. It felt much like a home...less like a hotel.
Nice staff, tasty freshly cooked breakfast, nice garden, clean rooms, real English countryside house, free of charge shuttle to and from Gatwick. When booking this hotel please pay attention, that check-in hours are between 4 PM and 11 PM. If you arrive early you might not get in and better wait at the airport until check-in time.
