Pros: I was lucky that they had rooms available so I could check in early. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was great, lots of hot food (eggs, sausage) as well as cheeses, deli meats, and pastries, juices. Shower was hot and strong pressure. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly.

Pros: The hotel is close to the historical center. Walking distance to the Cathedral of Sao Paulo (maybe 10-15 minutes walking). Around the corner pedestrian streets starts where you find many shops and the walk towards the cathedral is mostly at these streets. You can also walk easily towards the Edificio Cholpan which is a majestic building of Oscar Neimeyer. The breakfasts are satisfactory. If they prepared fried eggs as well it would be perfect. But there is readily available fried eggs. :/ Staff are helpful and friendly. You feel very safe inside the hotel. Outside is also generally safe, however, there are many homeless people all around Sao Paulo and the neighborhood of the hotel is also taking its share. Just accross the street there is a bar called Brahma. Never been there but very crowded in both nights I was in Sao Paulo. Also very nice live music they had. On the other hand again very close to the hotel (around the corner, two blocks later towards the cathedral) Saturday night there was a open air concert thanks to the bar (I don't remember the name. But the groups name was "tres in the box" and they were playing nice music. I really enjoyed that night.

Cons: My key never worked, had to go down to reception several times. WiFi doesn’t work great inside the room, but is fine in the hall. Air conditioner was not obvious, there is a switch (like a light switch) next to the outlet by the bed. A bit noisy in 1403, can hear the noise from the street below. Homeless people outside.

Cons: Fried eggs can be prepared! I am not sure if they had it or not. To be honest I was late to the breakfast for both days so I couldn't ask if they were preparing or not. Most likely they were not. My room was very comfortable. Instant hot water even though it was 13th floor. Also very nice water pressure. Good job.

Cons: No English-speaking staff. None. And some of them were not very friendly or respectful of my poor attempts to communicate in Portuguese. Foreign travelers should be warned. Learn a little Portuguese if you want to stay here. For room size, there was only one little chair, so not terribly comfortable to relax. Breakfast was average or slightly below. AC seemed hit and miss. Comfort in the room went up and down. Hotel was advertised as 5 star. It was OK but I would peg as 3-4 star.

Cons: The receptionist did not speak English at all. We were missing out on towels when we arrived (they simply have been forgotten when the room was cleaned) and tried to get some. It was extremely complicated since the receptionist did not understand a word of English and tried to speak Portuguese and French to me even though I told him I don’t speak French or Portuguese several times. Finally we had the next problem when both of our room keys stoped to work and we had to “fight” with the receptionist again. It’s very common that people do not speak English, but in a hotel I would expect a minimum level of English! Room was not especially clean. The fridge of the minibar was not cleaned and had a old drink spilled in it. We also wanted to visit the sauna, but couldn’t after all since the receptionist didn’t speak English and on the top floor of the hotel where the sauna is located no one could be found. There is only one sign in Portuguese, but the sauna was also not hot. So we suspected it wasn’t in use anyway.

Cons: the hotel room is not good at all. There are several big black disgusting stains on our bed sheet, so we kept our clothes on for the night. Other parts of the room are not sparking clean as well.. Second, the bathroom window is broken, can't fully shut down and block the noise from the street, so it's very noisy at night. Third, the toilet makes this high-pitch noise after flushing. Last, the towel are very old and ripped..it's like 3year old socks that are almost gonna break...

Cons: The hotel should be rated as a 3 star not 4 star hotel. The breakfast served is for 2 - 3 star hotel. Location is deep in down town with lots of homeless people outside the hotel. It's not safe to walk late at night in the area. The hotel is clean just the surroundings. Communication is a problem as no one from the reception/staff knows English. We shortened our stay and confirmed with the staff before with regard to the refund. And was only told on the day of departure that it's not possible for me to be refunded which i wouldn't have cancelled would I've known.

Breakfast buffet was a joke, squashed into an area measuring about 3m, with very limited choice. Some people will find the area very scary to walk around in after dark.

Photo of hotel on website is deceiving - the hotel entrance is a normal doorway on side of this building so no fancy entrance hall etc. We were robbed on Paulista Avenue - cellphone/cash was stolen whilst "security" looked on. You cannot even communicate with the Police in English, nobody understands it. It is unsafe to be on the streets in this area so better to just stay away!!

Cons: This part of the Centro area is a bombsite after dark; hoards of street people appear when the stores close and rip the garbage apart looking for food, but the police presence makes it more intimidating than dangerous and it's interesting to watch (for a non-Brazillian) from the relative safety of your hotel window.

Cons: Unsafe neighborhood at night The plaster on the ceiling fell down in my room. My first day stay there was no hot water in my room and the front desk had to change my room. The elevators are very small and can only fit 2 persons at a time. The breakfast room is very small and can only sit several persons at a time Portuguese is only spoken here. English is not spoken at the front desk. They could understand basic Spanish The shower bathroom would leak and flood the bathroom floor.

Cons: My flight to sao paulo was delayed for 24 hours, so I've emailed the hotel through "booking" asking to change the checkin time and if they were going the charge me for the night i've missed but i didn't get a reply at all, when I've arrived the next day they couldn't find my reservation in the system right away, it took the guy like 30.minutes to understand that I was supposed to check in the day before and I got charged for the missed night as well

Cons: There is no air circulation in the back rooms and the humidity is very bad- I booked at the Plaza as I had read that there were city views and a balcony. There was neither..so be sure that you include to let them about any specifics you are after.

Cons: Nothing to complain about the hotel itself. The area is a bit rough so for your safety, I would recommend you to avoid walking through the neighbourhood after it gets dark, get a taxi instead and NO PHONE, JEWELLERY SHOWING OFF IN THIS AREA otherwise you may end up "losing it"...

Cons: The sliding door didn't close properly, there was a 3 cm gap between the door and the door side and it was a very cold night, the room was chilly and we were able to hear a lot of noise from the neighborhood.

Cons: I thought that after my last stay, 2 years ago, they would have refurbished the bathrooms. It’s kinda old and not very functional... water was leaking out of the tap, and the shower head was too powerful and was spilling water everywhere despite the shower curtain, and the toilets weren’t flushing well. Had to flush 4/5 times.

Cons: there was a kitchen but no utensils to use it, the room had no window and smelled strongly of moisture, to access it we had to go through an open corridor on the roof so during the heavy rains everything was flooded

Cons: Okay. First of all, our booking ref. told us we could check in 12pm. No way. The lady told us we couldn’t check in before 4pm. And we couldn’t leave our bags there either, haha! So we had to carry them around for four hours waiting for check in. Furthermore, when we got to our room, there was no toilet paper, no towels, no soap, no bedsheets. Our door was almost broken, our window was crushed and so was our mirror. The remote to the TV was MIA and so was the promised WiFi. We asked the staff about the towels and stuff, and they just said «mas tarde» (latter). Little did we know this actually meant 9pm on our second day of our «hotel» stay... In addition to this, even though we knew from before that saturday night is a big thing in SP, we didn’t think we wouldn’t be able to sleep before 5.30 in the morning because there was a big party in the next building...
