Bait and switch
Cons: Confirmation email did not reflect correct pickup location. Trying ti cancel on website refers me to phone number. Trying to cancel on phone refers me back to website. No one will answer the phone. Did not have requested car at pickup. Gas was not full at pickup, but I had to fill before return. Pickup desk closed while I was waiting in line AT THE PICKUP DESK. had to go to another location.

Pros: I had to return the first vehicle. The seats were dirty; the vehicle was not vaccumm. There was a light on indicating the wheels need maintance.
Cons: Returning the vehicle, I asked for a reciept. I was told I would receive one with in the hour. I had to call back several hours and request the reciept again.

Beware if you Pre-Pay
Pros: I ended up with a 2016 Yukon with under 20k in miles. The exterior was clean and had minimal damage. However, the trouble it took to get the car outweighed the overall value.
Cons: I arrived to pick up the vehicle early, there was a long wait. Upon being called to the counter I was advised that my vehicle (full size) was no longer available. Upon questioning they admited that they gave it to someone earlier (who hadn't pre-paid by the way). I was offered another vehicle which was a smaller class but luxury and told that this is their policy. I had to keep pushing to get another option as I selected FULL SIZE for a reason. Finally I was sent to another location (10 miles away in rush hour traffic) and told they had enough vehicles after I had to ASK them to confirm before I drove all the way there. I am going to shorten this because my blood is starting to boil reliving it. I arrived at the second location over an hour later due to traffic and was told that they don't give out cars since all of their cars are already committed. I asked for management, (did no good) but the other girl at the counter must have called them because she came over and said they were told it was okay to give me one of the 4 full-size cars they had. Now the fun part, she pulls up my reservation to transfer it to their location and discovers I pre-paid which apparently is a no no within their system. I was told they couldn't give me the car but I could pay for it and wait for my refund, but I would be paying the full price (same day rental rate)!!!!!!!! Much more transpired, and ultimately 5 hours later I ended up with a vehicle. The car was nice, but smelled like marijuana, had sticky stuff all over the compartments and steering wheel. Did not have a full tank, but they marked it did. Had no windshield washer solution, oil monitor stayed on giving warning that there was only 20% left. Not the type of thing you want to deal with when getting on the road. Also the tire pressure was very low so I had to do some maintenance stuff on a rental car! ughh Oh btw did I mention you can't get a live person on the phone when you call them to address a pick-up issue

Bait and switch
Cons: Car was located, according to the counter staff, 25-45 minutes from the airport by cab depending on traffic. The reservation was for $95 for 5 days, prepaid. The best they would do for a car at the airport was $245. When I asked if I could cancel that reservation and not be charged, they assured me that would be no problem. I rented a car from another company, then a day later received an email stating that I would be charged the original $95 since it was prepaid and couldn't be refunded.

Need for better management
Pros: I booked Hyundai Accent, Chevrolet Spark or similar but was upgraded to a Hyundai Santa Fe because they could not find the car-type reserved.
Cons: I got a phone call this morning asking me to return a car I turned in yesterday! After I explained that there was only one receptionist when I returned the car, I was put on hold while the lady searched for the key. Fortunately, she found it and I was sent a receipt via email.

Pros: Awful customer service, the lady at the desk was rude and disrespectful. It took me 3 days and the threat of calling the BBB to get my money back.

wrong car, right price
Pros: The price was great and pick up and return was easy
Cons: I specifically rented a mini SUV based on the vacation we were taking. When we got to the rental spot, we were informed that they didn't have any SUVs at all but offered us a Cadillac instead. While the Caddy was a delight to drive, it was not what we asked for or needed for the trip but we made it work.

Lack of Customer Service
Pros: Like that rent luxury cars, but that is it.
Cons: First car smelled like someone had just finished smoking and had trash w food on it. Second car had a load roaring sound when drove. Sixt said they would not it up as it was still drivable. They could tow, but would charge. After went out of my way to return, gave me third car which had coins, crumbs and nails in the drink console. I cancelled my reservation at that point, but was informed I would be charged until they investigated the car. Three strikes and your out. I have never felt less like a customer much less a human.

Pros: We come to AOL for a day full of meetings. We came to pickup the car 7:30AM but the lady in the office advice us the SORRY, WE HAVE NO CARS. . It was us and other 3 upset customers who made reservations a week earlier. It my 2nd time with major issue with SIXST Bottom line, we lost half a day, took a car from A visit, was great. NEVER AGAIN WITH SIXST

Pros: I liked the courteous service but unfortunately soon found it was disingenuous! !
Cons: I called Sixt to rent a car during spring break. Understanding that this was an extremely busy time for them, I expected some delays in my reservation. What I didn't expect was, After calling three times to confirm my reservation and being told I was next available for a car, to have no one call me back and even acknowledge that they would not be able to fulfill their agreement to rent a car!! SIMPLY NOT PROFESSIONAL! !!!

Never trust your reservation
Cons: I originally had a reservation with a different rental car company but cancelled it when I got a confirmed reservation with Sixt because it was a much better price. When I went to pick up my car, there were no cars available. There were also 4 other people waiting on cars in front of me.. All with reservations too. I left without a car. Reminds me of a classic Seinfeld episode. I won't rent again from Sixt.

Cons: 1. My rental pickup time was scheduled for 11 am. I received a call right before my pickup time (while en route to the location) that no rental cars were available and that my pickup time would have to be pushed back until around 4 pm when some of their cars were returned. 2. The SUV we received (they only had one available) smelled like marijuana and the exterior and Windows had so much grime on them we had to go through a car wash or risk not being able to see. 3. The vehicle was tiny. My toddler was in her car seat in the backseat and the only way she could be remotely comfortable is with her legs through the center between the two front seats and resting in the front over the center console. The backseat did not adjust, move, budge, shift, or anything. We attempted to slide the front seats up, but that left us with our knees touching the dashboard. 4. The pickup location was inside of a hotel. The sign for the rental car place is tiny and very visible. You also have to go into a pay to exit parking deck (we were told to bring our ticket inside and someone would validate it). Apparently that wasn't the case. We had to wait for someone to come outside and swipe us out of the parking deck with their employee badge. 5. When we picked up the vehicle, although we had reserved and locked in a price online with the Kayak booking, they required a credit card for a security deposit and placed a hold for the full amount of the rental PLUS an additional 15%. My fiancé had put the rental amount and our hotel on his credit card and did not have enough left on his card to cover the entire security deposit. So they said that I could use my card and although I was not driving during the trip, they automatically added me as an additional driving and charged us another $59.95 for that. 6. Although we paid for rental car insurance through Kayak, when we picked up the car, they made it seem as if the car did not have coverage and that we had to purchase rental car insurance through them. 7. When we went to return the rental car, the location was closed and they did not have a dropbox for after-hour key returns. We had to speak with someone at the front desk for the hotel who told us to put the keys in an envelope, write our name on it, and leave it with them. This seemed kind of unusual to us and a little sketchy so we did but only after speaking with a manager and taking a picture of the person's identification badge. This was the most horrible and disorganized rental car experience I have ever had. I will NEVER again rent from this location or the Sixt company (their other location told us we could only use the rental locally and if we drove over 50 miles a day even locally, there would be a $0.50/mile charge for both local and out of town). They had so many hidden fees, conditions, and it really felt like they were just trying to come up with ways to get more money from us. I contacted Sixt directly and they refused to attempt to rectify the situation

Stay far away!
Pros: Nothing the price increased from the quote they provided online through kayak. The agent small talked and charged my card almost 1k, and only told me in the end, never during the transaction. I declined to take the car after that, but they still charged me!
