No towels ,poor service, hot breakfast is a waffle, ran out of breakfast microwave sandwiches, hard to find english speaking staff.
Tres bon dejeuner!!!
Lobby was very clean and bright and the staff was good in the front desk. Me and my wife Stayed on 10th July , 2010 at room# 224 and the Toilet flush did not work and I complained, but no body came in the night or in the morning of 11th July to fix it ?????
It was convenient to visit family. Not normally a location we'd visit otherwise but hotel was clean and quiet with good breakfast.
It was convenient, clean, and staff was very nice. Price was right and breakfast was good6. I would definitely stay there again.
Very nice hotel with excellent staff, good value for money
Very close to the bussiness center & value for the money Cleaness & wet carpet in the room
The Hotel is one I have used several times for convenience due to location just north of Yonkers thus just north of NY City and close to clients. They have been working on the hotel & the renovations are tasteful, the room was comfortable and well laid out, the bathroom is elegant and general it was not only a reasonable price & great location, but a restful stay.
Early check in saved me from paying for extra night...thank you!
the staff , the accomadations and the room this is just an observation. had a room with 2 beds. but the closet was in a corner next to the bed and very hard to get in between the bed and the bathroom wall. Not a good location. maybe a better architect next time. Also the bathroom was quite nice, but the sink was too shallow and when you open the faucet the water sprayed all over, not that any of this was extreme but just annoying. have a nice new year.
Staff was nice n helpful every thing but staff
Staff was friendly and facilities were fine. Found bed bugs in my bed.
The pool is great, the employees are very helpful and kind, and the place is beautiful. Nice pool, too. I only wish there was someplace to eat on the grounds aside from the pricey Cellar restaurant, since we kept having to take cabs to the main part of town to find restaurants.
The location is great for where we needed to be. The entrance to the property is 'grand', really liked driving up. The restaurant is 'cellar 49' is in the basement, cosy and intimate. Great service, helpful and super friendly! ... The noise! They need to insulate the walls! We were placed in the 'Weschester' part of the hotel (someone told us it is the quietest area), you could hear the guest next door talking on the phone, hear what he was watching, and hear every single passerby in the hallway chatting away...
The pool was 21 and over and served GREAT drinks! The staff was very nice We didn't eat breakfast there because of the price. It was expensive.
Professional service and a classy clean look. We can't wait to stay there again.
Everything at Tarrytown House was just so easy - easy check-in, perfectly comfortable room, and the front desk was so helpful (setting us up with cabs, for example). Plus, the grounds were so green and lovely. Highly recommend - a great value for the cost of the room.
Spent the weekend at the estate when I proposed to my girlfriend. Staff was very accommodating to my requests to surprise her and Alex even had a few extra special touches to add to our stay.
Their staff was very helpful and friendly.
Location in Tarrytown, NY, overlooking the Hudson, friendly upbeat staff, parking on site was convenient, price was great through Kayak, pool was nice and warm, racquet ball court was great! Food at Cellar 49 was tasty. The doors to the room do not close automatically when one exits their room. At one point, I notice that 3 of th4 doors in our area were left ajar by accident. To actually close and lock a bedroom door, one must pull it really hard to make sure it closed. What I am saying is that this is pretty unsafe for women who may be traveling alone and also, throughout the night, I we heard was other guests SLAMMING their doors closed. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff, they seemed surprised to hear this. Some of the paint, wall paper, flooring (in pool bathrooms), need serious sprucing up. Also, air conditioners seem to leak or stain the outside of the building and when I looked out my window, I saw rust stains running down the side of this building. For a Destination property, I expected more in this respect. As my only Destination point of comparison, I have stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort in the Charleston, SC area, which was AMAZING!
The building was beautiful and classic. Closer, than I thought, to NYC, but probably need a car to get there. The restaurant was good or okay. It is also a great wedding destination. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay there. The service at the restaurant (Celler 49) was a little slow and strange. Food was good or okay. However, it will not stop me going back Tarrytown house estate in the future.
clean room big room nice furnishings great view shower had low water pressure hotel is a maze to navigate
Everything.... Was the softest bed ive slept on... Bad for the back.
Clean hotel, comfortable beds and very quiet. The staff was nice. We stayed 2 nights and I wouldn't have minded if our stay was longer. There aren't many choices in this immediate area, but judging by the looks of the other hotel I saw, this is the best. Our room was at the end of the hotel, so maybe that was the culprit, but the wifi was terrible. It constantly dropped in and out to the point where it was effectively useless. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:30 and my wife and I got there just before 10 and they had already closed and were setting up for lunch. Ours and the key card of another guest stopped working on the 2nd day, which was a little annoying, but not that big a deal as it was easily reactivated.
It was a very comfortable ad pleasant experience. The rooms are modern and very clean.
Desk Staff and Cleaning Staff very helpful Not noted
Nice rooms, although a little on the small side. Great location while visiting Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Elmsford, etc. Cooper Mill restaurant is comfortable with good food and provides the room service. Did not make use of the spa, but it looked nice. Excellent service at the front desk. Very accommodating of any request. Evenings when there are company parties and weddings in the ballroom, parking can be a problem. The ballroom can handle very large groups. There is plenty of parking available but it can be a long hike to carry your luggage. We experienced this twice during our four night stay. Coffee service in the lobby is Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only, and then coffee is not served until well after 7:00 am. Do not plan on coffee service from the lobby.
The beds where comfortable, good water pressure and got water. Plenty of parking. Not happy that we had chipping ceiling paint over the bed. Don't be fooled when your told you have a room with a view of the pool. It was noisy, could bot open the windows for fresh light because of pool was right there, and random people walked up to the glass sliding doors to sit in chairs directly in form of our room.
Not so many people there and it is very quiet place to relax and peace. so we came at the right time!;) One mattresses is very soft and floppy which makes my back hurt. Plse check the matrress... Also needs a bigger table instead of square table so can put some food on instead on the dresser...
I like the fact that I was able to book the room on short notice I did not like the fact that they do not cater to your typical family on vacation very uncomfortable when it comes to dealing with front desk and some Of the staff will never return it's my own fault for not planning ahead Which Is why I laugh when you have a question on the survey asking if it was worth the value the answer is No!!! I have been happier in a hospital No Accomodtions should have known better ther is only 1 picture of the 2 rooms styles the offer deluxe queen and deluxe queen with breakfast hahahah shame on me!!!!!!
Clean. Great staff. Phenomenal breakfast buffet. Definitely go back. A little bit of a corporate feel. You can tell it was an old IBM building. Great place though.
So close to the city but the landscape and grounds really take you away to a clean and comfortable escape. Tons of conference space ideal venue for business meetings or even a wedding!
Cleanliness of room and hotel overall was great. Room was cleaned everyday with fresh amenities. Great area and very secluded within the Rockland area. Within minutes in town very convenient for me. Nothing I didn't like.
Excellent location for my travel schedule. Accommodating staff. Comfortable bed/pillows. Lovely golf course view. Handicapped room not requested. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Shower tiles and sink area required better cleaning/bleach. Windows very difficult to open for fresh air. Windows and frames dirty.
The staff was excellent 1st put into handicapped room. Upon request they moved me into regular room, in morning I couldnt control the water temp and couldn't take a shower & couldn't turn water off. So couldnt shower before work. problem was later resolved when i returned.
I didnt like that the elevator was broken amd that my bathroom smelled and the house keeper just came and sprayed some freshener and when I came back to the room it still smelled horrible. I wouldnt reccomend to any one.
Staff was very accommodating with a special request Zero
The decor and ambiance in this hotel is worth every penny! Quality hotel and very friendly staff!
great location / atmosphere. older and needed some tlc.
The location was beautiful and convenient. The room was small, furniture old. Shower tile moldy. A/C loud and hall noises kept us awake all night. Husband got food poisoning at hotel lunch, & front desk staff showed no concern & charged me for 2 aspirin & coke. Never staying here again!
Great location. Looks majestic from outside. Bathroom was smelly with nauseous odor that filled room. Called maintenance, they sprayed deodorant. Left exhaust fan running all the time to prevent odor from coming back into room. Jacuzzi had chlorine and pH issues. Hopefully it was isolated instance.
Lovely grounds, staff, good breakfast, nice rooms
It is set in a quiet locale The bathroom wallpaper is peeling off, the party door to the adjoining room couldn't be properly locked at all, there was no refrigerator nor a microwave oven of any kind in the room, the windows were drafty, the decor wasn't modern, the chair was worn.
Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff was very friendly, attentive and extremely courteous. Couldn't be happier with this hotel selection.
I felt safe lots of noise from the highway. Only one elevator was working. Room wasn't ready when we got there
No dresser in the room.
Location 227 is a sad, little room. A queen room at the Hampton Inn. It is unloved and uncared for. If the room were located in Paris, France or a berth on a cruise ship it could be considered spacious but by typical standards it can only be described as tiny. There is no chest of drawers. Guests must leave their clothes in their suit cases or stuff the two night stand drawers. The bath room contains the typical notice indicating that for ecological conservation linens left on the towel racks will not be laundered. Sadly, the bathroom is so cramped there is no room for a towel rack. Clean linens are stacked from counter to the ceiling on shelves. Used linens can only land on the floor. There is abundance in other areas. Two arc lights outside the window of room 227 bath the seven storied building in light. The lights also perpetually bath the room in light. At night, the blackout curtains glow at the edges framing the window as if morning is always eminent. The door to room 227 is located about 12 inches from the door leading to the pool and parking. There are 5 parking levels at the Hampton and the easiest access to most rooms in the hotel is through this second story access. SCREEEEEEEECH-BANG goes the second story entrance door hundreds, possibly, thousands of times throughout the night and day. Management and staff dislike room 227 as much as the guests. Neglect and frustration is clearly present. Controlling the water temperature in the tub is frustrating. Turn the control knob too far and the water is icy cold. Turn the knob too little and the water is icy cold. Like a modern day Goldilocks, guests need to turn the knob on the tub ‘just right’ to get the water temperature close to what a human could sustain. The tub spigot and the shower head are not affixed to the wall. Diverting the water to the shower head is troublesome as the spigot moves around as the guest attempts to send the water to the shower head. Do not think that your HHonors will help you here. Staff has learned, or possibly well trained, to contain prepaid guests to room 227. Ask for relocation and offending guests are given static and treated as trouble makers. Room 227 does have a redeeming quality. Having been a guest of room 227, I affirm to live a better life and treat my fellow passengers on earth better and more kindly. My earnest hope is that after I pass from this planet that I do not end up back in room 227.
I really enjoyed the breakfast selection and outdoor pool :) Didn't like that only 1 elevator was working at the time of my stay.
quick check in, breakfast, clean room and bathroom Line for breakfast was way to long, dining area wasn't up kept very well, neither were the elevators.
The restroom was uncleaned and the room was very small
Staff was friendly. For the area this is the best priced hotel. It was clean and quiet which great. Quiet in the sense that even though there was a lot of people staying there I never heard anything throughout the night. The free breakfast and shuttle were also great. I travel to the area quite a bit and I think this is the hotel I will stay at every time.
Clean room, good restaurant in the hotel. The staff was rude, no elevator. They expected me to carry my heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs and did not offer to help. I ended up throwing my back out. Thanks for nothing.
The proximity to our event and food, gas, etc was fantastic. The staff were amazing, as was breakfast. It was fantastic to have four pillows on a double bed! Not every hotel does that. Clean and comfy linens. Mattresses were on the north side of firm, but I'm a side sleeper and prefer a softer bed, so that's just me. The floors are not level, both first and second floors. The bathroom sloped down so you felt like you were falling when using the facilities.
The staff was good. The property was reasonably clean. The towels soft and the beds comfortable. The microwave and small fridge are a nice convenience. This is a very old property and it shows its age. Odd old smell. There is no elevator. If you travel with heavy suitcases, ask for a first floor, there is no help. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything in the next room. The A/C conked out for a bit and there are no screens in the windows so opening them was not an option. There is only a front desk clerk, no security; guests run rampant through the halls after leaving the on-site bar. Wedding guests woke us up every half hour while continuing their partying in the hallway. I'll pay more next time and stay at Homewood Suites or Marriott Residence. But if you're not too picky and need to save money, this will be a good fit.
Nobody entered my room while I was sleeping. That's about all I can think of t for the positives... The hall ways smelled like urine. The air conditioner was very loud. I had a room on the front of the building, and the traffic noise was terrible. The walls are very thin, and I could hear everyone's tv while I was trying to sleep (during normal sleeping hours), and I could hear people from nearby smoking rooms coughing loudly all night. Also the smell of smoke was fairly pervasive. I was not expecting the Ritz, just a clean quiet place to sleep. That is all. I was asked upon departure how everything was, and I mentioned to the gentleman at the front desk it was very loud and obnoxious, and he just said "oh, sorry about that, have a nice day".
Staff was great Near the highway
Hotel is accommodating for pets. Price was reasonable. Bed was very comfortable. Was not told about pet rate. Hotel charged my credit card upon arrival and didn't tell me. Location could be better. Route 17 is a nightmare.
Suite was not cool d by air conditioner.
Everything was perfect here. We enjoyed our stay. Nothing.
style, comfort, free breakfast, courteous staff. had to pay for wi-fi that should have been free given the price of the room. lost connection to to wi-fi too many times.
Well first of all I would like to say I checked all the other hotels online this hotel is absolutely the best prices the best Hotel staff I've ever seen in any hotel in New York City and abroad they're very friendly helpful respectful I love the fact that it's way way far from the city the gym is excellent the pool was excellent food is excellent this is my get away to paradise when me and my wife just want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is where we come
Well laid out, and comfortable. Nice reception areas and good breakfast. hotel overbooked on arrival meaning we were transferred out - not happy!
Love the staff, very nice people. Very professional and always helpful --- Love the rooms, comfortable and clean Have stayed here three times so far and all three times were great
The beds are extremely comfortable & very likely to get a good night's sleep. I have stayed @ Hampton Inn previously for last 2 years. There was once a greeter, a young upbeat guy, who would greet, interact w/guests, and make sure he said good morning to guests as they arrived for breakfast. He was a great asset to the hotel, but sure he has moved on in life. No one greeted guests @ breakfast during my stay, did no see any staff interacting w/ guests to see if anything was needed.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast line was a bit crazy. Took a while to get what I wanted and it seemed like the staff had a hard time keeping up with the number of people at breakfast.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The bed was uber comfortable and clean. The breakfast was satisfying and tasty. I liked that they had an indoor pool, gym, and a bar.
good lockation, clean room, very good for 2 stars, staff was very friendly and helpful slow internet conection
he the layout of the room.
Hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke but room didn't.
Rooms were clean Needed more TV channels
No power! Couldn't iron clothes or do my hair no electricity, had to go to gas station to fix my hair for a graduation, toilet smell like urine! Sink was clogged! Customer service was not all that!
Well located, 45-minute by bus to NYC, next to Garden State Plaza mall (almost walking distance), good value for money WIFI would drop literally every minute. It was connect-drop-connect-drop-connect-drop all the time. If you need wi-fi in your room for business, you may want to consider another place to stay (or maybe another room - ours was 422, maybe a bit far from the antennas?)
This hotel offered a very clean and friendly atmosphere for a very reasonable rate. Would stay again when traveling to nyc! The continental breakfast was more extensive than I expected. Good job here! I would like to see a full service restaurant open that serves lunch and dinner inside the hotel.
Everything More pillows
Very clean, room was very beautiful, some of the staff was very friendly, restaurant next door was delicious. The hotel is really beautiful. Check in was simple and easy. They allowed too many guest to hang out in the lobby.
Clean room, clean lobby. Courteous staff Difficult to get back onto the Gardenstate Parkway North from there.
Great Breakfast for continental. A great restaurant beside the hotel. My mattress needed replaced. It sunk to the middle bad.
Location is right off the highway and close to the major malls Exterior looks dirty and low-class; people hanging out in front smoking seemed like junkies and vagrants.
Nice room, had everything I needed, a fridge, shower, bed, and wifi. I have no real complaints. The room was clean and had fresh towels/linnens when I arrived. I was never disturbed during my stay. Wifi was a bit slow.
Comfort Beds & Room layout was nice. Double Closet with 1 door made getting clothes in & out difficult
This hotel was easily accessible from all major roads. The property itself is well-maintained and very clean. In the staff is very friendly and helpful too. After a very long day of touring New York City this hotel was a welcomed stay for weary travelers. The Bistro Cafe located in their Lobby is an excellent choice for breakfast. We ventured out into the neighborhood our first day for breakfast, and we were very disappointed with the food locally. We should have stayed on premises to eat at The Bistro Cafe both mornings.
The staff at the main desk and in the restaurant were friendly and attentive.
The room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff at the check-in desk was efficient but not overly friendly, with the exception of the first check-in.
The king bed is very comfortable. The internet is not fast enough to stream videos, and juices in breakfast is not that fresh except orange juice, waffle is firm like rock, little choice.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was clean, comfortable, beautiful view and very accommodating! Thank you!
The beds were comfortable and had the fastest elevator I have ever seen. The view of mountains was nice. The pool and gym were very small. When u look at that beautiful exterior of the building u would think u were getting the best of everything for the money u spend. There is no security in the parking lot either..
Location Road conditions in lot need improvement
nice view very very noisy doors, one rude front desk staff with attitude, unorganised management. secluded nothing within walking distance. issues with lifts
Paper thin walls. You hear EVERYTHING including The opening and closing of the extremely loud bathroom doors. the DJs in the downstairs club may as well have been in my bedroom. But at least I had a lovely view of the cemetery
Looked like it might be nice.. We specifically chose the place so we could relax in the hot tub/jacuzzi. It wasn't working and in fact that and other things were still under construction. One elevator didn't work. Restaurant seemed way too expensive. Feel like we got ripped off.
I really love how professional and friendly the staff is. Everyone greets you with a smile... The room was extremely trendy and the beds were so comfortable... The bathroom was very contemporary and towels were extra soft .. You get a pair of new slippers and a nice robe.. There was a keurig coffee maker and a glass refrigerator.. The pool was nice, clean and warm .. I would definitely stay here again and again.. No trash can in the room. Restaurant doesn't have a great dinner menu
I had a mix up with date for discounted reservation. Hotel was very gracious in giving me a room that night for discounted rate. I was very pleased that they did that for me. N/A
Nice, clean, quiet rooms. The beds were very very comfortable. Very nice breakfast including eggs and sausage. Enjoyed the pool and workout area. Close to all the Palmyra LDS Historic sites and the Hill Camorah Pageant.
It's located conveniently Terrible service, terrible breakfast, expensive for what you get and elevator didn't work.
I like to visit NYC every once in an while but don't like to cost of hotels in the city, not to mention the trouble with parking my vehicle. I find this hotel reasonably close to the city for a reasonable cost and with plenty of parking space. The facility was clean and the staff was ok. I felt a little aggravated that at breakfast, the regular coffee machine was broken and there was no regular coffee at all, only decaf. When I inquired about it, the personnel attitude was like "there's no regular coffee, deal with it." I feel that coffee is a fundamental part of the american breakfast and the management could have make alternative provisions to have regular coffee available. Now, to be fair, I was not completely coffee-less. There was regular coffee with a coffee maker at the room, but them the second day of my stay they did not supply with a disposable plastic component need to brew the coffee and I had to walk to the front desk to get it.
Room was awesome facilities were good Guy at the pool was creepy and muttered remarks under his breath about us.
Convenient to event we were attending Serving area was crowded for breakfast
I enjoyed the room and comfort and the bathroom was really nice. Quiet and nice place to relax and some places around to go get food and a shopping area down the street. The breakfast was great and excellent with a waffle maker and sausage and eggs etc... Overall this was a great stay. The only thing I did not care for was the bed not a fan of how it makes you sink in and the pillows were not that comfortable. Overall it was comfortable.
Very friendly and helpful cleaning staff. Rooms were clean. Only one elevator that takes you to the wrong floor frequently. Always a line at the elevator forced most people to use the stairs. This is horrible considering there's only three floors. Tried to have breakfast in the lobby with my children at 8:00 am but the lobby was full of people pounding back beers. Power went out at one point at the hotel. I've stayed many times at Hampton Inns around the country and have come to expect a certain standard. I am usually very satisfied with my stay but these issues along with others left me very disappointed. Not the worst place I've stayed but not up to par with any Hampton Inns I've stayed in.
Staff very helpful and polite
Good location comfortable rooms Front desk not friendly at all. No attempt at being nice or helpful. Seemed annoyed that we were checking in. Lol
Amazing stay. Couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. The hotel was very, very clean, modern in style, beds were extremely comfortable and every staff member was sincerely friendly staff and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a plethora of healthy choices. Vernard & Gus went above and beyond to assure our stay was perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer.
