Location to downtown and through way Pool/rec area not usable because of remodeling. The fumes from the remodel were choking and not ventilated at all. When we informed the manager of this, she was ambivalent about the issue.
Nice and quiet. Bed was comfortable great to come back and relax after a long day at the horseshow
renovations were very nice and the hotel was so quiet
The staff at the front desk was exceptionally rude when we checked in. The rooms are dated and unclean - our shower had black mold on the ceiling. While the campiness of the "holidome" (an inside pool and arcade located in the middle of the hotel that looks like it dates back to the fifties) was amusing, it did not make for the best view outside of our hotel window. Many of the rooms, like ours, had a view of the inside "dome"/courtyard and absolutely no natural light. The hotel was under renovation, which meant much of it was unusable and the parking lot had a pile of old toilets and dressers (like the furnishings still in our room) in the corner. Absolutely ridiculous that this place is $200/night - we would have been better off staying at the SuperLodge down the street. Then at least we'd only be paying $70/night for what I can assume is the same quality of stay.
Bed was comfortable Strong odor of cleaning chemicals in room Odor of mold in lobby Poor "free breakfast" choices. Hot was limited to make your own toast. Cold selection was a small selection of packaged muffins or a choice of two cold cereals. Towel rack in bathroom broken Exterior door had gaps between door and frame, also no safety chain sink stopper not connectd. Had to reach under sink to operate stopper TV had a limited number of selections, was older CRT tube model with somewhat small screen, Difficult to find (limited unlit signage)
Great staff, very friendly, beautiful grounds, large rooms, continental breakfast included, microwave and refrigerator in room, Even though the room was large, there was only one chair to sit on.
Filthy bath tubs and coachroaches, really!
If you're staying up by Rhinebeck, Kingston, Saugerties this is a no brainer place to stay. It's very clean, and the staff is fantastic. The pool is small, but indoors. The hotel is in a shopping area which can be really useful if your forgot a bathing suit. There's a Target and JC Penney within walking distance. The Bistro has microwaveable food and Starbucks coffee in pump carafes. The food isn't terribly good, but there are many, many other options outside the hotel. The view from your room can be less than inspiring especially if you're looking out at the dirt field waiting for construction of some kind. These are both very, very minor issues and shouldn't take away from how clean, efficient and well located this hotel is.
We attended an appointment with our Autistic son's bio-medical doctor nearby so location was key. We enjoyed the pool, bistro and the fact that you have alcohol. Certain staff could be a tad bit more friendly. Alcohol prices were a bit high. Breakfast only served to 9:30am/10am weekdays/weekends.
The room was clean and staff was very pleasant. I would stay here again if I return to this area. Very difficult to find. There were no signs on the road indicating there was a Courtyard by Marriott up the hill and behind the large wall. There were signs for all of the shopping stores located up the hill, but not for the hotel. The street sign was also hidden on the opposite side of the exit ramp and right before another exit.
Hotel was clean and front desk staff were friendly. Rooms are large, comfortable and have a nice lay-out. NOISY! Freight trains passing in the night can't be helped. Emptying the trash dumpsters under our window very early in the morning should be re-scheduled. Housekeeping staff POUNDING on our door at 9:15 am when checkout time is 12 noon is unnecessary. The corresponding rude comments made by housekeeping staff are also disrepectful and unprofessional. Very disappointed.
We needed to be in town for unfortunate reasons, but found the bereavement rates to be exactly the type of affordability we needed. (Having two dogs with us also complicated our needs.) There were variables determining how long we were going to be there. We booked for two nights and twice added on additional nights. Each time, the staff at the desk were kind and made dealing with our lodging very easy. We ended up staying for seven nights and we would certainly go back. Everything was clean. There wasn't a 40-something inch flat screen TV, but it's not that kind of place. Lot of out of town work trucks. Good sign - those guys know which hotels are a good value. Bed was too soft for my liking, but still comfortable and in good shape. Clearly has been a while since it was renovated. The recliner in our room was a bit beat up, but we weren't there to sit on a chair in our hotel room.
I liked the Location , close to everything.. I liked that it was quiet and I could rest when I needed too.. I didn't like the price and the fact that for that inflated price , there was no pool or room service , no cleaning or fresh linen the whole 5 days .
Centrally located where we want to ski in Belleayre and Windham plus proximity to restaurants
Fire alarm went off and was told it was common for that to happen daily.
The staff was super nice and they comped my room. The bathroom was disgusting. There were hairs stuck to the wall in the shower that were not mine and the whole room smelled like a very strong cleaning solution. The bed was hard as a rock and the cleaning crew started banging around bright and early.
If you are looking for an affordable place to stay with basic needs met then this is for you. Location area great as a lot of things I needed are in walking distance and staff always try help u as best they can.
Our heater in the room was broken, but the guy at the front desk was super helpful and changed our room! Great price and place was clean! We also had free breakfast which was a plus! I would recommend this place. Also lots of shopping stores nearby. =)
I wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price, but whichever reviewer posted on google that it was like paying to stay in a homeless shelter was right on the money. It was nasty, sketchy. The only bonus is they allow dogs but I spent the whole time scared of what my dogs might find in that junk heap.
Super nice reception staff. The friendliest woman helped warm my Ramen noodle soup bowl in the office microwave at 2am and then escorted me to my room. Complimentary breakfast. TV didn't work, hairdryer didn't work, no conditioner, no complementary water, no elevator to second floor, no microwave, no refrigerator, no carpeting hence super slippery floors and dusty room. Management refused to comp or discount my incredibly brief stay of just 8 hours.
food in restaurant was OK needs renovating; rooms OK but corridors, stairwells, public areas generaly need re-decorating
The beds were comfy, clean and appropriately provisioned. The kids loved the pool! The walls were run down with cracks/old water damage and the window was open a little and wouldn't shut all the way.
There we not very many people in the hotel. Breakfast was the cheapest continental i have come across in a long time, I thought with an attached restaurant it would have been better. Also, when i checked in the first room they put me in had no hot water.
a lot of facilities i asked the desk staff for an authorization about a broken suitcase which i asked them to throw (for the insurance), but they refused. I think that they were afraid to take responsibility.
very comfortable bed and swimming pool at location door #2 was constantly left ajar by people placing rocks in the jamb to keep it from closing. it made me feel very uncomfortable. my room door had to be slammed to close, problem was reported but not addressed.
I booked this hotel for proximity to a work event, and because it looked like it would have more character than a chain. Their communication with me was very misleading.
The staff was really great, the common areas were very inviting and the food was delicious!
The New Paltz Rodeway Inn & Suites was conveniently located, with easy accessibility to the highway and a short drive to the college, yet it was quiet at night with no road noise. The rooms and public areas were very clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel offered a standard continental breakfast in the morning. I understand that this property has recently come under new management and the new proprietor is eager to continue to make improvements.
Outside is nice and renovated. Front desk curteous. By far the dirtiest room I've ever stayed at and I've stayed at a lot of cheap motels. Table was sticky and had crumbs on it. Dirty dirty floor seemed it had not been cleaned in years.
Out of all the hotels in new paltz, it's the least of the rundown hotels. Linens are disgusting--bring your own. Large dark red stain on the teal fleece blanket. Disgusting.
It was a basic room. I would would only stay for one night tops. There was hairs in the bed and on the bathroom counter. The sink wasnt draining from the very beginning and once it filled with water it started leaking from underneath and counter. We used the garbage can to put underneath to stop it from flooding all over the floor.
Not much. Dirty sheets, odd smell, hovering staff over the poor continental breakfast...
Checked in after the 2 PM check-in time and was told they were just readying the rooms then. Door was difficult to open since clearance was too low. Deadbolt on door non-operational. Worse issue was the mold in the bathroom. Toilet did not flush enough to empty. Tried to check out the following morning but lobby was locked. Went outdoors and tried ringing bell several times at lobby door. After 20 minutes, clerk came to door in his bare feet (walking through breakfast area), seemed annoyed that I had awakened him (even though by that time it was about 10 minutes prior to when they said breakfast would be out). Did not stay for the breakfast. Saw that the cereals were kept out in dispensers when I checked in the earlier day so I had doubts about their freshness/closure from insects.
It was a good value for the money, conveniently located and had a surprisingly good little breakfast for such a small hotel. Suggest that you advertise Free Wi-Fi because we almost cancelled our reservation because nowhere was that listed! The fact that the hotel was under renovation and had no hot water-rather inconvenient!
Everything was great! Great value and perfect location to visit the SUNY New Paltz University!
The staff was very friendly The biggest problem was the HVAC unit in the room. The mechanicals were so noisy that I was awakened every time the unit went on. It sounded very very dated. Another issue were the dust mites that got my allergies going. This was not unexpected. Overall, the hotel was an inexpensive place to rest my head that is need of an update. In a pinch it would do.
clean breakfast included close to New Paltz Village without being too close easy access to main highways Entrance is easy to miss on Terwillinger Street
The room was simple and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price was right. Lots of cigarette butts outside despite the receptacle provided. That's on some rude guests but a sign or two might help.
Outside of the property is beautiful must've been the resort at some point in time. To get to the place you have to drive through a rather sketchy area of old boarded up houses. The interior of the hotel is very old and run down. Holds on the shower scratched up furniture. A tired old place not taking well care of. Next morning us locals about the place and all we also recommended not to stay there.
