Mercedes-Benz car rentals in Warwick from $55/day

I live in Florida and was delayed getting to providence RI. The website said they would honor my reservation up to 24 hrs past pick up time due to the hurricane. My delay was going to be closer to 30 hrs due to changes and flight cancellations. I called Budget twice to confirm they would hold my reservation longer than the 24 hours, and was told both times they would hold the reservation. When I called a third time to confirm, they told me they canceled my reservation and had no other cars available in providence. I had to rebook with another car company for $150 more than my reservation with budget. I won’t be renting from them again anytime in the future.

All good. The key fob didn’t register a few times when trying to lock the car but I finally figured out how the car wanted to be turned off.

Supplier choice

Confirming a rental and not brings able to accept a business car for the trip it’s completely unacceptable. No where on the confirmation said anything about that. Horrible

pick up was not good sign said 3rd floor but we had to check in first on the 5th floor. long line. one teller who was slow and chatty with customer. finally they added another teller. that moved faster. then i had to go back down to the 3rd floor friendly staff. car wasn’t ready. they were adding gas that took awhile. offered me another different model but i only wanted a van. pickup was very nice and easy. one floor

Cons:

pick up and drop off was very difficult very hard to find where we were supposed to go and staff was not helpful and could not be bothered to say two words to us. we also had a tail light go out halfway through our trip which did not make us feel very safe that the vehicle was checked over before we left.

Pros:

Staff friendly and helpful. Easy peasy!

Cons:

Had no trouble with pick up or drop off. Just waiting for them to email me my receipt. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Intermediate SUV

Through Kayak rental was made. I called Enterprise the night before rental pickup to verify purchase and they said all all was okay. I asked to talk with local Enterprise. They said they were out of cars and would NOT honor the rental. I ended up getting a car from Alamo at TF Green airport. I’ll probably never try Enterprise again and maybe not Kayak First time in 30 years that has happened. Never once booking directly with Avis, Hertz or Alamo.

Pros:

The staff in Warwick were very friendly and helpful. The staff in Atlanta was God-awful.

Cons:

The car smelled like a cheap motel and cigarettes. The drop-off process was unclear, the staff member was rude and completely unhelpful.

There was no way to get employees attention inside the building. I had no way of knowing if they saw me and someone was coming to help or not.

Pros:

Staff was friendly, helpful and proactive. Thumbs up for this crew working at this location.

Cons:

I understand about not letting people go inside due to pandemic issues. But please find a way to accommodate customers while waiting outside without having to be exposed to sun and rain. There must be a better way to operate. I also fell bad for these young staff working under these poor conditions. This is purely a top management responsibility.

Pros:

I had a reservation for 6pm. I called to let them know I was on my way. They said we close at 6pm. I said how was I able to make a reservation for 6pm of you close at 6pm. He said "how far are you?" I will wait, When we got there we called, no answer and the door was locked.

Cons:

If he was nor planning on waiting for us then he should have said that on the phone and not made us waste or time.

Pros:

The staff at the pick up in Rhode Island was excellent. During COVID seeing/interacting with others can be stressful and the space was exceptionally clean, and I feel like they are handing the pandemic with ease. I will not hesitate to do this rental again a few times while I am not flying.

Cons:

The car itself had previously had a smoker in it. Not much anyone can do about that, it clearly had been cleaned and aired out, but I could still smell it. Is renting a smoke free car an option?
