The hallways had an unbearable stench. Requested a handicapped room WELL in advance and ended up with a room on the second floor dead in the center of the facility making it impossible to get to without several halls and at least one elevator or stairwell. Staff was unwilling to assist in adjusting bill based on poor accommodations and early check out. Very poor customer service. Rooms weren't very updated for the price or comparable to the area.

The moment I walked into the hotel the front desk greeted me so welcomely! not only that, but as I was walking up to my room all the way till my check out date the workers were beyond friendly and always had a smile on their faces.

I loved everything about this hotel, my only concern was that there was a little bit of crud on the bottom of the shower which ended up floating to the drain once I turned it on.

Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room which was much nicer than what I usually find in this price range, and a good cup of coffee at the bistro in the morning.

The Irish pub in the restaurant was excellent. The staff was very professional, accommodating and friendly. The room was clean other than the issues cited in the other box. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The location is convenient and there was plenty of free parking.

I booked for 3 adults and requested 2 doubles, however my email confirmation stated 1 king bed. I called the Marriott and was told there were no rooms left with double beds. I then called hotels.com and was told the room could be changed to 2 doubles, however upon arrival the reservation was still for 1 king. Thankfully the desk clerk noticed the size of our party and immediately changed the reservation 2 doubles without me having to ask her. Don't know why this was an issues when I originally called the Marriott (or why the change made through hotels.com did not change the actual reservation at the hotel). There was some black mold on the ceiling above the tub/shower and the room had a slightly musty smell, like a damp basement. Our room refrigerator was not working upon arrival and the hotel had to send up a maintenance person to get it to work. We discovered there was a big cultural conference (NJ/NY VSNA Indian conference) taking place during our stay. No issues with the cultural conference however with so many people mingling about in the lobby and hallways we felt like we were intruding on a private event and that was uncomfortable. We did not feel like we should walk around the hotel and stayed in our room. It would have been nice if I was told about the conference at the time of booking.

Got a wrong room. I requested for double queen bed but was given single king. So a family of 4 is sharing a single bed. No effort is made to help the situation. I even tried to ask if there is something she can do. I got a big 'NO'. However, the couple after us the a double queen bed. The door going out into the veranda is broken so we have to turn on the heater.

Room was extremely large with a king size bed and a separate room with couch that rolled out to a double bed along with a kitchen. Staff was extremely helpful too.

I booked my stay thru my mobile app and realized I had the wrong city .. I picked Morristown and I needed Moorestown .. I called no later than a second and explained my error only to be told I had a non refundable reservation . I asked if I could at least get a discounted rate or lateral transfer to the correct city. They refused.. I ended up getting screwed..

Room was clean enough, bathroom worked, all the basics were there. I ran the fan all night and thus the room was quiet enough to sleep in.

Its main business seems to be weddings and other big parties, so bar and restaurant VERY crowded and not available to guests who want to have a quiet drink. Door to hotel does not have automatic open button -- crucial not only to those with mobility issues, but anyone with a lot of luggage. How is that even legal in 2016? Breakfast included but there's not enough seating, so it gets loud and crowded. They use styrofoam cups for coffee. Again, I must remind the hotel, it's 2016. The decor is **very** outdated. Forest green carpet in the room, vertical strip wallpaper -- from the 80s or 90s. Was fooled by high reviews into thinking this was a nice place to stay when it in fact it is just adequate.

The hotel was perfectly located for us, near the train to head to Manhattan and near universities.

We were on the back side and our window looked down upon the trash.

AC was broken in room, took them 1.5 hours to get us room with working AC. Staff seemed overwhelmed with tasks and wasn't very helpful or responsive to problems. Obviously old hotel with a few cosmetic updates, but still dumpy.

Everything. The place was a dump. It smelled bad, the facilities are decaying and poorly maintained, the food was terrible. An all around horrific experience. The place needs to be completely re-furbished and renovated.

The property is modern, sleek, beautiful. Anda well kept facility.

Breakfast is not available on the weekend, only through a limited room service menu.

Scents and cleanliness.

I am a new mother and was severely disappointed that after a long day of travel and late arrival, the refrigerator in my room was broken and resolved not by changing my room to one where it was operational so I could store breast milk- instead I was brought a warm one from storage.

Hotel had no record of booking.com booking. Checking took half an hour. In the end they honored the reservation but I need assurance this won't happen again if I use booking.com

Was only there for one night but the staff treated me great!! They helped me find my dinner location and other places to go to make my evening seamless. Id go back again!

Pleasantly surprised about my stay. If I had to say anything negative, it would be the walls are pretty thin so you can hear toilets flushing and muffled conversations

Very sketchy neighborhood. Not safe at all, to the point where the checkin desk has a bullet proof glass. If you're on a really tight budget it's fine, but if you can spare an extra $20-40 do it!

Close to airport.

Across the street from projects with a horrible view. This hotel isn't the best hotel but I guess you get for what you pay for.

Location next to Newark Airport with free shuttle. Good value.

Hotel is shabby, carpet fraying, lots of dings and marks on the walls in hallways (though room itself was in better shape). Housekeeping must've been rushed, because underwear left by a previous guest was on the floor of our bathroom. Yuck.

Very nice room and very friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport. Nice rate. Coffee and muffins were available at 4:30 am.

Other guests were extremely loud- banging doors and yelling in the hall the entire night. It kept waking us up. Our wake up call rang at 3:40 instead of 4:40. We reserved a shuttle and one of the drivers never showed for work; so at 4:50 on the morning there were four families trying to get to the airport for our flights. The driver was very, very nice but one family was forced to stay behind.

The bed!! So comfortable. Also I left my luggage on the shuttle, and they were very helpful in facilitating my getting it back.

The plane was late, and the shuttle took much too long to pick up.

We really liked how close the hotel was to the airport. The shuttle between the airport and the hotel was about 5 minutes.

If you're not used to road noise you may have difficulty sleeping

There's nothing I disliked about this location, The only thing I did dislike was I didn't see public transportation that could take me to Newark Penn Station wanted to go to NYC via the Path train

Stayed for 4 nights for the 2016 Star Trek convention in NYC. No regrets. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient, free parking. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Newark Penn Station. Reasonably safe urban neighborhood. Easy access to NYC via PATH or NJ Transit. Price compared to NYC hotels. My room had a nice view. Was able to park the full day after I checked out.

Elevators malfunctioned one morning (this was a huge annoyance). Area around hotel closes very early (no good restaurants, convenience stores, etc).

Staff were terrific, breakfast great, airport shuttle extremely helpful.

We checked in very late. When we finally got into our room (the keys worked only every 8th time or so) we were bowled over by an intense chemical smell. We tried to find an air freshener but couldn't. Called the front desk, housekeeping came. Turns out they spray some kind of God awful disinfectant before guests arrive. This is dangerous. I asked for a different room, but there was none. We were given a fan, which helped a little, but there's no fresh air coming in from anywhere. I had a headache the entire time we were there. I've always loved Hampton Inn but this is unacceptable.

good overnight with early morning flight departure. Enjoyed lobby bar with good accompanying menu -- not a bad place to hang out and unwind. Staff was friendly and accomodating, keeping their cool during a substantive number o all-at-once check-ins.

Hotel is alright. Gym is good and has equipment for about 7 people at the same time. The wee shop where you can buy food is open 24/7 and has good food in it.Free Internet is fast.Shuttle Bus drivers are friendly.Is worth its money if you book online and don't pay more than 100 bux.

People at the reception are not really friendly - as mentioned before by other travelers. Though they are helpful.

Some hotels have gorgeous communal areas, such as the lobby, and the lounge, but a different standard for their rooms. Renaissance Newark Airport had beautiful areas that were communal, and their rooms were of the same high standard. Bed was comfortable, and warm. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Shuttle to and from the airport is a plus. Many airline staff stay at the hotel, so the morning shuttle filled up fast, but another shuttle was dispatched right away, to pick up the overflow of passengers. I would stay here each time I'm in the area. Not just a good value, but a great place to stay, meet, eat, hold a conference, etc.

I am very picky, about clean, germs when it comes to hotels. the staff was friendly, from the valet to restaurant staff. the room was clean. i would go back and stay there again.

I was only there one night but I was very comfortable. When I needed questions answered the staff was cheerful and very helpful. Breakfast was great too.

Only flaw was that it is on a flight path for planes taking off and leaving, so occasionally you hear a plane, but just once in a while. And not overly loud

Too difficult to get to, walls were very thin and you have to pay for breakfast and coffee.

We experience a problem with our room which we brought to the attention of the weekend night manager The Weeknd manager change the room immediately she informed me that a manager would be contacting me to address my concerns about the room which did not happen. On checkout I brought my concerns up to the front desk manager which in short blamed me for the problem with the room

Perfect hotel stay. Everything was lovely from the pool, to our hotel room, to the staff. They even welcome you with hot cookies! The best part is the Hilton Double tree is inexpensive :)

The hotel was comfortable and had all the amenities one could need. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check-in before 11 a.m. without an additional fee, took advantage of the free shuttle to the airport several times to get to the Amtrak station and head into New York City. When our room keys stopped working at we went to the front desk for assistance, not only did the clerk apologize for the inconvenience, but she advised that if it should happen again, we didn't need to return to the front desk. Instead, we could call from a house phone near the elevator on our floor and they would send someone up to assist us. This hotel provided great value for the price and I would definitely stay there again.

When I checked out, I inquired about paying for parking. I was told that I would need to pay at the gate when I left since there were no charges on my room bill. However, I was not advised until I pulled up to the gate that they only accept cash there. Luckily, I had enough cash on hand to pay for my 2 nights of parking, but it would've been nice to have the opportunity to pay by credit card or at least forewarning that only cash is accepted at the gate.
