Cons: "Delayed, no updates,"
Pros: "The gate agents and flight attendants were true heroes, they did they're absolute best in a terrible situation."

Cons: "Failed to provide wheelchairs as requested."
Pros: "I felt safe add respected. They serve drinks and small snacks, no meals going to Hawaii, plan ahead."
Cons: "The airport at Phoenix had little seating. I was funny in the floor in case someone needed a seat. Otherwise, everything was good."
Pros: "Boarding process was smooth"
Cons: "Allowed people to deplane while waiting. Sitting on a plane during a two + hour delay is the stupidest thing ever."
Cons: "The amount of space! I’m only 5’7”, 125lbs and I was absolutely squished in this seat. Oh and we waited an hour in the tarmac for a maintenance guy to fix a computer? Why can’t they figure this out before we board? It’s better to sit at the gate than in your cramped airplanes."
Pros: "They were nice. They listened"
Cons: "No screaming children"
Pros: "All employees were awesome."
Cons: "I have no complaints."
Pros: "Love the seat. Left side best going to Jackson hole"
Cons: "Bigger snack"
Pros: "Boarding was quick"
Cons: "Power in the airplane to charge phones. A form of entertainment would have been nice"
Cons: "First plane broken, second plane broken, overall 4 hours late, 2 hours of that sitting in a hot plane"
Cons: "baggage was not transported from BA flight to London to the BA flight to Glasgow"
Pros: "The connecting BA flight from Houston to LHR was an old 747 and my broken window blind didn’t go down. The worst part was I paid for a bulkhead seat and once we got on the plane it turned out the configuration was different and the seat was not bulkhead."
Cons: "Accurate configuration. A more modern plane."
Pros: "Crew was ok. The basics. No issues."
Cons: "WiFi and better entertainment"
Pros: "Flights were on time, professional crew"
Cons: "Seat back screen kept freezing, headphone jack was broken"
Cons: "Because of 12 hr between original flight and this flight, we drive"
Cons: "Make the chairs more comfortable. Also I would rather buy good food not eat cookies."
Pros: "Only thing that was good was tail wind."
Cons: "The plane was so small and tight. And they sat me next to 260lbs x football player in this tiny plane. Not really your fault but a plane that size is just too small esp when your neighbor is double your size."
Pros: "Price for a very short notice trip, ease of online booking, very informative staff. Also, able to readjust my seating assignment."
Cons: "Unfortunately, the pilot assigned had a car wreck coming to work that morning. The delay was not bad, but my timeline was tight. Still, very grateful that a suitable replacement was found. The delay could have been much worse."
Cons: "Crew disrespectful, with passengers. He was a chubby guy late 40"
Cons: "My original flight was delayed then we had to spend the night in Dallas."
Cons: "The online information was inaccurate on where the pet relief areas were located and I nearly missed my flight as a result. Need to install more ESA /Supprt animal relief areas to make It more friendly to travelers. Very stressful experience overall"
Pros: "Once aboard, LATAM is actually quite impressive. The logistical part of the company is horrendous, but the service onboard is exemplar."
Cons: "LATAM changed my itinerary without my authorization and despite my clear verbal directions to NOT change it. The airline took directions from a corrupt official with the Colombian immigration office and cancelled my return flights. I was forced to purchase an additional ticket, travel on and separate flight from my wife and children. I then had to spend several hours waiting to resolve the case in person. The customer service at LATAM is a joke. If I'd received this treatment in the United States, I would have filed a lawsuit for their infringement on my rights and collaboration with the discriminatory practices of the Colombian immigration office in Bogota."
Pros: "Flight was smooth"
Cons: "This was my final connection from a long flight, we did a line to check in and get our boarding passes, when we got to the gate I found out I didn’t have a seat number asigned but husband did, they gave me one there but of course it was not next to my husband, it was the last seat available at the end next to restroom. The smell coming out from the it was so disgusting even before th first person went in, they should do something to improve the cleaness in the restroom between flights. It would probably take them 30 more minutes to do so, and I would not mind waiting for it even if this was my final flight after 15+ hours."
Pros: "Getting home EVENTUALLY"
Cons: "10 minutes after leaving Austin the pilot tellsnus Houston air traffic control is grounding all westbound flights due to a storm in Dallas that's causing too much congestion. So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."
Pros: "Being able to check flight progress while in the air."
Cons: "We did not appreciate the game of needing to pay for seat selection after having already paid for tickets. We were not provided with TSA-PRE despite providing our known traveler numbers in advance. Boarding selection protocol seemed opaque, complex, and geared towards inviting us to pay extra for priority boarding. Before boarding the plane, we were not able to find out whether any food would be served and the extent of what might be provided. After getting on board, we were offered the chance to buy food. The complementary food was a cookie and a few ounces of soda or juice. Movies were available, but not headphones for listening to them. Leg space under the seat in front of us was reduced to make room for life vests."
Cons: "Delayed, old aircraft, no food, no entertainment"
Pros: "Not much, the flight attendants were fine"
Cons: "They boarded the plane for the ‘on-time departure’ scam, then proceeded to do maintenance for 30 minutes, then when you think your on your way we wait another 15 minutes for takeoff. We spent more time sitting still than we did in motion. Horrible."
Cons: "westjet delayed my flight once again, so I was stuck in the LAX airport for 5 hours"
Pros: "My Mom was very grateful for the friendly assistance as she is wheelchair bound and was flying aline. Excellent service!!"
Pros: "Timely and comfortable flight!"
Pros: "The boarding process was easy and the crew was great."
Cons: "Other passengers were annoying. One guy was listening to a baseball game on his phone at full volume on the plane during boarding. Another kept hitting the back of my seat playing a game on the entertainment system. And a flight attendant let a guy stay on his phone, while we taxied for takeoff, having the douchiest conversation in history."
Pros: "easy on and easy off. ontime."
Cons: "a little more room between people and more padding in the seats. also delta used to have a screen in each seat and you could see where you were and how far you have gone and so on. could also see more and music."
Pros: "It was a small plane so I didn't expect much. The attendants were a little disconnected for it being a three hour flight."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable. Entertainment was appreciated. Flight was smooth and landed early. There was just no offer of food unless for purchase and I was hungry and look forward to that. Even just a bag of pretzels!"
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "I was flying with 2 children on my own and had an issue booking seats together, the gate agents worked to find a solution when we arrived and we were all seated together. Thank you so much for keeping us all together, as my one child has aspbergers and the other is only 8 and we are not frequent flyers. I highly recommend your airline to everyone I meet. Everything met or exceeded our needs. Thank you so very much."
Pros: "Quick connection"
Cons: "Tiny overhead bins - even in first class"
Pros: "Our experience was very smooth. We appreciate all the work that went into making this a pleasant experience for all of us."
Pros: "The flight was very good. Boarding was good, shorter flight, smooth, landed and off we were."
Cons: "Seating still needs a little more padding for comfort. Delta airlines has a screen on every seat and you can see where you are and how far you have gone and so on. That would be nice. It was very difficult to hear what the pilot said when he spoke to say hello and whatever else he said. Entertainment? There wasn't any on this flight"
Cons: "There was no food offered. The stewardess was not happy to be at work."
Cons: "When the flight was on time, we learned it was overbooked. Agents stated that if people would not willingly accept their offer to fly at a later time random people would be denied boarding. This was a stressful element as there was no other flight that could make me arrive on time. Plus, threatening to deny boarding to paying customers for airline related overbooking does not seem like a fair or good business practice. Then there were mechanical issue with the plane. After waiting over an hour for repairs they realized they needed a new air craft. This further delayed the flight. Not only was the flight extremely delayed at this pint but throughout the waiting time we were given very little information and were constantly told they couldn't give us an approximate time of departure. This was extremely rude and makes the experience of dealing with a delay even worse. I would suggest giving us more information about what is happening. Saying we don't know when the flight will leave is just unacceptable. To make matters even worse after we were finally boarded we had to wait an additional 40 minutes sitting inside the plane while they boarded refreshments! I know there are delays in flights but this same thing happened to my flight on my way to Paris and it caused me to miss my international connection and had to be re-routed."
Pros: "Nothing exceptional"
Cons: "Change fees are ludicrous. Also flight was late."
Pros: "Snacks were delicious, flight attendant was very attentive, great conversation—I mean it might have been better because I was in first class, but it was definitely worth the upgrade."
Cons: "Seats weren’t as comfortable as I have experienced before in first class on other airlines (Delta, American)"
Cons: "I have one small computer bag and need to put my own feet under the seat in front. I should be able to not have my small bag where my feet NEED to be. My carryon is far less than what most have and this is for my own comfort."
Pros: "Crew was awesome. Super proficient and even threw in some extras to top off the experience."
Cons: "Has a minor delay due to air craft maintenance, but otherwise things went swimmingly."
Cons: "Had to sit on the tarmac for 35 minutes because our flight was “randomly” selected to wait because there was too much air traffic over Houston. Result: I missed my connection to my final destination. The airline promised that the other flights were alerted of the delay and that people would be there to assist. May departure gate was literally two gates away from my arrival gate in Houston. No one was there to help. No exceptions were made to get me on the flight, even as it was delayed at the gate for 15 minutes, meaning that they could have gotten me aboard. The whole experience made me very angry. After all this, I had to wait an additional two hours for the next flight."
Pros: "It was on time"
Pros: "Was able to get an Economy Plus seat, which is nice - great legroom for an almost 6' tall person and power plug is very handy. Entertainment & screens on the 787 is very good. Regular distributions of water was very helpful since I wasn't able to fill up my bottle before getting on the flight."
Cons: "Not a great amount of food available, and one of the larger cabin crew members kept brushing my arm as she walked past, which didn't help me get any sleep."
Pros: "Crew was very pleasant."
Cons: "Flight was extremely late arriving."
Pros: "The airplane"
Cons: "The departure was delayed because of weather in Houston. If the Houston flight to SJC would have waited than we could have avoided other delays"
Pros: "Not much honestly"
Cons: "In flight entertainment system is outdated without many good movies. Screaming children and the flight attendants did nothing about them. We boarded very late and I was afraid that I would miss the flight due to UA making us sit on the tarmac forever."
Pros: "Reliable way to get to Houston. Very short flight, so doesn't make sense to have food service besides the one drink they offer."
Pros: "On time departures and landings"
Pros: "flights delayed overall"
Cons: "service. flights were delayed and they said there was nothing they could do"
Cons: "There was a name change needed for the flight..they weren’t able to support that at all resulting me cancelling the flight."
Pros: "The beach and the forests"
Cons: "Most of the people from San Pedro"
Cons: "taxi time longer than fly time"
Pros: "Flight was delayed causing us to miss our connection in Houston to Bonaire. No flights until 2 weeks and we missed a vacation planned with several friends. All United said was they were sorry. We did get our money back. But not another thing."
Pros: "MUY BUEN SERVICIO EN UNITED ME GUSTA MUCHO VIAJARVEN UNITED"
Pros: "Easy, no probs. Clean & on time."
Cons: "Nuttin. All good."
Cons: "Sit are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to uncomfortable"
Pros: "Delayed, still in Houston waiting for another flight to go back home since last night"
Pros: "Just your avergae flight and time for a quick flight to a nearby city"
Cons: "Just luggage being lost at the final destination was a despressing conversation"
Cons: "Delays hrom Houston toCR"
Pros: "Overall experience was good."
Cons: "The food and the long layover"
Pros: "It was a new plane. Plenty of leg room and comfortable seats."
Cons: "Arrived a little early and had to sit at gate before deplaning"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "Long delay"
Pros: "Trip too short for anything"
Pros: "The flight was just another flight, crew was speedy, and proficient."
Cons: "The seating is way too compact. Me and my neighbor we're hitting elbows the entire time."
Pros: "Danny and tansha were friendly . They looked like they enjoyed their jobs. The kind of people that if we met on the street I'd want to hang out with."
Cons: "The run through the Huston hub, to catch a flight in 10 minutes."
Pros: "That I got a window seat"
Cons: "Didn't like the boading system. Ppl. Had to stand for long time just for them to start announce boarding for each group"
Pros: "Boarding was easy, seat was good for economy."
Cons: "Although it was a short flight it was not great. We departed late having to run through Houston to our next termunal halfway across the airport. The flight was very hot, no cool air from the vents. Very turbulant...but no bad weather."
Pros: "THE PEOPLE WHERE GREAT ."
Cons: "CRAMP SEATING ,CEO,S SHOULD RIDE THESE SEATING FOR FOUR HOURS IN THE BACKOF THIS NOISE PLANES ."
Cons: "I have united credit card and still had to pay for baggage cause I didn't purchase ticket with card. American has wifi, free movies and plugs. I'm very disappointed with United."
Pros: "Missed my flight so I ended up staying overnight in the airport to catch the 5:25 am flight the next morning. One of the cleaning staff found a blanket for me which really helped since it was incredible cold in the airport."
Cons: "Security line at BWI is extremely long and under staffed compared to other airports. There was not enough legroom and the flight attendants pressured people to check baggage when there was plenty of room on the flight to stow luggage."
Cons: "Nothing but a sweet caramel treat offered as snack. At least could be a regular cracker, not full of sugar."
Pros: "United did manage to reroute us so that we cought up with the flight to Europe we were booked on."
Cons: "Though delayed through no fault of the airline, there was very little effort made to hold connecting flight for a few brief moments so that we could catch up to it"
Cons: "The arrogance and attitude from air crew, ground service staff to lounge receptionist was unreal."
Pros: "Everything was ok."
Cons: "I was supposed to be home by now, but instead I'm sitting in an airport in Houston writing a review about how ducky this flight experience has been. Delays delays delays. Nothing to eat because all the restaurants are closed. Can't go anywhere because nobody knows what is happening and "it could be any minute now." Two hours later... still here."
Pros: "Flight itself was short."
Cons: "It took longer to board and wait to take off than the entire flight lasted. Deplaning and receiving gate checked bags seemed to take longer than normal times. One of the attendants (don't know his name, but he had glasses) was not pleasant. He seemed to want to be anywhere other than there."
Pros: "It was on time and the staff was very friendly."
Cons: "I sat at the very back. :-("
Pros: "After loading and putting bags overhead, announcement came that we needed to change planes due to the starter on one engine didn't work. Then was advised we did not have to change planes, there would be a 20 minute delay because they had 'found' a mechanic. Flight went well the rest of the flight."
Pros: "Seats where comfortable in economy plus. And friendly staff"
Cons: "No snacks offered."
Cons: "everything on United's part was fine"
Cons: "It is June, not December. No idea why the delays. Got put on multiple different flights due to delays, missed connection and meeting. Turned around to go home at 3 am. It was hell. United is so disappointing, not the first time. Will avoid at all cost in the future."
Pros: "Nothing besides I got a little compensation for my inconvenience. I had about 5 gate changes and my friends had to drive from Austin to Houston to get me after they cancelled our flight at 2 am. They had no clue when the next flight would go out the next morning."
Pros: "I liked having multiple lines for each boarding group. I think it would make sense to board from back of plane to front. I think it would make it go quicker"
Cons: "Having to check my bag plane side."
Cons: "Limited space"
Pros: "Great flight/great staff"
Pros: "I liked that I slept the whole way."
Cons: "That united barely serves any snacks, need something besides that wafer that won't even make a dent in hunger."
"It’s not frontier’s fault I think it’s most airlines seats suck unless your in first, but would an extra inch of foam on the bottom cushion be that hard?"
"Say on tarmac for almost an hour in Denver…"
Pros: "Price. You get what you pay for"
Cons: "Why does the city have to fix a ramp? Leaving Denver was late arrived in Houston late. Cant get off plane due to equipment issues."
Pros: "The male agent at the counter was great! Unfortunately that was the only good thing about the trip. Everything was SO expensive, had to pay $1.99 for a bottle of water which is free in other flights. The crew on board didn’t do anything and didn’t come through to collect trash until the very end."
Cons: "More affordable prices, snacks and drinks available in flight, and a more helpful crew on board."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "No WiFi, no food."
Pros: "The crew was hilarious. I love their honesty and awareness of how terrible it is to charge people $4 for water on a 3 hr flight."
Cons: "The seats, the leg room, the captains announcements, the intercoms sound quality, the temperature, the entertainment, so so so very much."
Pros: "Lol seats NOT comfortable but it's that "you get what you pay for" but that's ok the staff is AWESOME"
Cons: "Frontier is good for the price you pay. It would be selfish to ask for first class paying coach prices. Good when you need em"
Pros: "Crew was personable and helpful"
Cons: "Longest boarding I’ve ever experienced."
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "Crew didn’t wear masks correctly."
Cons: "Frontier did not notify customers where the flight was in a terminal 20 minutes away from the main terminal accessible only by shuttle which only picked up people at the main terminal every 20 to 30 minutes"
Pros: "This was an uneventful, therefore pleasant, flight."
Cons: "Where do I start? The $45 dollar charge for one bag is ridiculous. The charge of $2.99 for a can coke and the seats do not recline at all."
Cons: "I filled a lost & found claim for my mother's coat she had forgotten in flight from John Wayne California to Austin but haven't heard back even if it has been submitted or not yet. On our way back..Poor Airport service in Virginia, The lady on the counter said I can go but my mom who was on wheel chair cannot go as she wont make it to the gate and also that luggage has been closed 3 minutes ago and we cant take luggage... Three Minutes cost me buying new tickets from South west that was cheaper than you and allow extra bag. Your representative was in moo mood to either help me or compensate me in your next flight.. very Poor. Upon dialing your number I couldn't get hold of a representative to address my concerns. You guys need to improve your customer service and clients call response and make it effective."
Pros: "The seats had lots of room"
Cons: "The flight attendants were very informal and not well groomed. The announcements made were not very professional"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "You get *1* carry on. A 2nd carry on or checked bag is **$45.** The most unreasonable and expensive bag price in the industry. Highway robbery. Who the hell flies anywhere with only one checked bag? I mean, seriously. It is an unreasonable expectation to put it mildly. Second of all, *you have to PAY to select a goddamn seat.* What the hell? Who the hell does that? *0* other airlines CHARGE you for the pleasure of picking a seat. That is insane. So, that is $18 at a bare minimum to choose the most inexpensive class of seats on the plane. Third of all, **you have to pay for ALL drinks of any kind.* Free water? Hell no. Free sodas, juice, coffee, tea, etc? Hell no. You have to pay for all of it. So then I was dehydrated the whole flight, which was very unpleasant and put me in an even more foul mood. The way they nickle and dime you on this godforsaken airline is criminal. So, To Review, if I had flown round trip it would cost *at a minimum* $18 + $18 + $45 + $45 ($126 goddamn dollars) in fees that no other airline in the industry charges. That is insane; and that happens to be approximately what I paid for my flight. So for all unreasonable charges I could have had a bonus flight somewhere. I will never, ever fly on this godforsaken airline ever again; and please believe I will tell every single one of my friends and (gigantic) family that not only does this crappy airline get 0 Stars from me, but they should under no circumstances ever fly on this horrible airline ever. Pick literally *any* other airline over this hot nonsense."
Pros: "Nothing throughout the arrival to landing except the actual flight crew was at an even decent level."
Cons: "After having flown to Austin for the death of my mother my return flight to DC was delayed for over 8 hours. There was minimal communication and no real understanding of what was happening by frontier. When asked about any sort of compensation the employees were extremely rude and difficult. After so many hours they’re required to give a 50 dollar voucher but failed to do so. After not sleeping for multiple nights due to my situation I did not arrive into DC till 1am and had to drive multiple hours home in the middle of the night which was a major safety hazard. Frontier did not offer to compensate a hotel or anything for the inconvenice. Extremely disappointed in the horrendous service provided by the airline in this nightmare scenario"
Cons: "HORRIBLE CREW! I’ve never been treated so poorly by a professional in any industry. They were childish and inconsiderate. They made the already horrible experience of flying with this subpar airline even worse! I would never recommend this airline to anyone. I wouldn’t fly this airline again if they paid me to. We were in the 4th row and wanted to use the restroom, they put their cart in front of aisle (horizontally) and told us we couldn’t use the front restroom. No explanation at all. Just said “you have to use the one in the back”. As we turned to walk all the way to the back you could hear them laughing and snickering at us. Another example was when we pushed the call light to ask them to take our 4 empty cans so we’d have room for our laptop on the tray. She came to our seats and asked what we wanted. When we told her she said “you’ll have to wait” then walked away empty handed. It made no sense and they didn’t pick up the garbage for awhile later. Overall, the worst. Don’t fly this airline, EVER!"
Pros: "The cost (initially), direct flight, staff was friendly"
Cons: "The fees for everything, the seats were pretty much metal chairs and really uncomfortable, no entertainment options and very cramped"
Cons: "Same ☝"
Pros: "Nothing. Every single person I spoke with was insulting to me, repeated information they already gave me and showed no sympathy whatsoever. They cost me money, they cost me a day of work and no one even seemed to care but every single agent did find something different about me to blame. What an embarrassment."
Cons: "I couldn't check in online because of a website error. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone on the phone to check in. When I did they said I had to use the website. I arrived in plenty of time to board (there was a 4 minute security line) but they would not check me in and told me to call a number and they made no offer to help me and told me I should have chexked in online. I called the number and they gave me. I was on hold till I missed the flight. The agent told me the people at the counter could help me. I aksed for a supervisor. He offered to reschedule me for Sunday, (today is Thursday) for a $99 fee (the ticket was $63). After arguing for an hour i finally got the supervisor to refund my money but I still had to buy another ticket on another airline to get there. I will never fly frontier again ever."
Pros: "The airplane was clean."
Cons: "The seats were not reclinable and for a 3.5 hour flight in which I wanted to get in some sleep I was unable to sleep. Also the seats were very narrow and with almost no padding. I could feel the padding had wore off and my back was touching with the metal of the seat. Add all that up together and instead of a regular airplane seat it was like seating on a rigid chair for 3.5 hours. Moreover, since I couldn't sleep I decided to at least get in some work, but then I realized that the tray was so tiny that it can't even fit the smallest of laptops... I know it is a low cost airline, but paying for carry ons, checked bags, selecting seats and on flight beverages is plenty for a low cost airline. Frontier doesn't need to top it off with the most new uncomfortable seats possible. At least with Ryanair the seats are more comfortable, you can bring a carry on at no cost and the flight ticket is cheaper."
Pros: "The ride home"
Cons: "The 4 hour delay that received once we arrived at 4:30 AM to catch our 6 o'clock flight home to find out it had been delayed until 9:28 AM. Once we were on the plane we were then told we would be delayed until 10 AM. Flying with two children was difficult for a four hour delay. However front tier did give us all $10 food vouchers and $50 vouchers each for our next flight. Once we landed in Houston we then sat on the tarmac for another hour waiting for the gate open. The plane did have mechanical issues which caused the delay but still the notice given was always last minute"
Pros: "Bird was clean; crew was pleasant; flight was on time. Can't ask for much more."
Cons: "The layout of Frontier's planes, understandably, is to maximize the number of passengers while minimizing weight. However, the "lawn chair" (for lack of a better term) seating does not give a sleek, modern look; more of a cheap (and uncomfortable) one. This flight was about 2 hrs, and I couldn't sit in those seats much longer. As for the food/drinks comments, as many other travelers have noted, my suggestion is to either go back to the old school program of no-charge can of soda and small bag of pretzels, or don't even have a drink cart.....you're just making people mad in an, already, stressful environment for most."
Pros: "The attractive fare."
Cons: "Long delay on return flight."
Cons: "Boarded the plane an hour late. Once on the plane we had to get off again because of problems with the plane"
Pros: "Maybe just the price but it makes sense why it was so cheap."
Cons: "I was checking in on my app while I was on my way to airport. Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes before departure time. The app didn't work and keeps on telling me the app has error. I restarted phone and everything. I had to check in at airport with no bags. When I arrived, there WAS NO ONE at check in desk. I was standing at empty security checkpoint and I could see my gate. The frontier employees were at gate early and never came to assist me. I waited for an hour until my flight left. You can imagine how furious I was- ridiculous for me to have this kind of experience. Thankfully united airlines got me on plane. Never flying frontier again."
Pros: "Planes are newer, seat backs are thinner which gives the impression of more leg room, not very comfortable though unfortunately."
Cons: "For what looks like a competitive airfare consumers get up charged when it's time to get your seat assignment (ie. pay $9 or $15 or $30 MORE for a seat on the plane when it's time to check in - not disclosed when you book through Kayak of course). To be fair, there was 1 seat available for $0, it was in the last row in the middle...1 seat. I also experienced a first...getting charged $30 to bring my backpack on board as a carry-on. Airlines are now charging to put luggage in the overhead compartment. Same carry-on luggage you'd bring with you on any other airline for free, apparently not on Frontier. $30 for a backpack, wow. Apparently Frontier also claims 'we don't participate in TSA Pre-Check', meaning it's great if you have TSA Pre-check, but given Frontier doesn't 'participate' in this program even if the consumer has paid the $100 and cleared to checks to use this program (which is awesome), if you fly Frontier, you can't use it, they won't put the 'TSA Pre-Check' denotation on your boarding pass. Huh? I get companies like this shooting for operational efficiency, scaling lean, profit maximization et al, however this airline feels like a total money suck from top to bottom. 'We have snacks available for purchase'! Of course you do Frontier, of course you do."
Pros: "The price of the flight was great, until I realized I was being charged for every little thing. What a rip off! I should have flown United."
Cons: "I had a severe allergic reaction due to the passengers in my row carrying four cats. I had to take Benadryl and broke out into hives. The flight attendants didn't even offer to move my seat. It was a truly terrible experience and I can't believe that there's not a better protocol in place with the airline to accommodate customers with severe allergies to animals, even when they are labeled as emotional support animals. This as a truly terrible experience. Thank goodness the flight was only 4 hours. I'll never fly Frontier again."
Cons: "It may be customary now, but we arrived with all our luggage as carry-on bags. We learned that they now charge more for carry on luggage than they do for checked bags. So we ended up checking two carry-on bags that we could have easily consolidated into one larger bag if we had known ahead of time. 2nd and worst of all - when we were checking in they told us our seats were not yet assigned (even though I picked seats out when I purchased the tickets). They showed a seating chart, but the only seats together required a premium payment of an extra $30 per seat! We complained and they told us to let the computer assign seats for us. That worked and the computer ended up assigning us two premium seats together. By the way - I did see what was "premium" about these seats. They reminded me of spirit airlines. Overall it seems like frontier is now trying to find ways to charge customers for things that were previously included and it is somewhat intentionally deceptive. I appreciated the low cost of the ticket, but I was left with a bad feeling overall. Spirit airlines is an inexpensive no frills airline as well but at least they are upfront and direct. I will fly with them next time if I have to, or go back to United."
Cons: "I booked this flight because it seemed an unbelievable value. Well, the price was, indeed, too good to be true. Upon receiving the reminder to book, I discovered they charge not only for checked in bags but for carry-ons. Oh, and they charge more if you don't book more than 24 hours in advance. Oh, and they charge for choosing your seat (that I didn't go for). The food for purchase stinks (only bad snacks for a four hour flight), the seats are uncomfortable, it did take off and arrive on time, I'll give it that. But after adding on $120 for my checked carry-on fee, it was no bargain, I will never fly this airline again."
Pros: "ease of booking, checking in, utilizing app as boarding pass."
Cons: "was surrounded by babies in all rows around me but they were cute so it was alright."
Pros: "I think the only good thing was the fact that we made it to the correct airport and didnt die."
Cons: "Frontier WAY overbooked the first flight. Myself and 4 others sat on a bench and waited to see if we could even get on the flight because it was "overbooked". No warning that this might happen mind you. When expressing my shock that the flight was overbooked, the gate attendants explanation was "Well that's frontier for you!" what kind of response is that? When speaking to the others waiting with me to see if they would be flying or waiting 24hrs before the next flight they said they will probably never fly Frontier again. Fast foward to the second flight, boarding went smoothly, the flight was fine and on time, until we landed and there was "another plane at the gate and it would be 5 minutes or so." 20 minutes later we start moving toward the gate only to get a second announcement that there was no crew to dolly us to the gate and we would have to wait til someone got us. Tack on another 40 minutes and we had been waiting in one spot for an hour after landing turning our 2 hour flight into a 3 hour flight. A woman even missed her second flight because of that delay! Seriously crazy that an airline can be so irresponsible with their customers money and time."
Pros: "got there safely and our checked luggage went with us ; plus the employees were nice but that's about it. Could've been worse but won't Frontier to make it so in the future."
Cons: "We were late arriving on both flights, online check in didn't work, had to pay extra for ANY seat and for all other things that aren't normally paid for on other airlines and the airline overall is obviously barely making it. I thought that major carriers such as Delta and United were bad but Frontier and so many others that are cut rate airlines make them look not so bad which is why I'll go back to flying with them and Frontier will probably never see my money again."
Cons: "Flight delayed over 6 hours and they still charged an arm and leg for everything"
Pros: "Initially; I liked the price of the ticket"
Cons: "But. That price was an outright lie. That price was only to get a spot on the plane. Then you had to choose your seat with an up barge of anywhere from $11-$35. Then you have to pay for a bag. Zero free bags. Carey on cost $40. $40!!!! And a checked bag is $35. So my low prices ticket actually cost me another $51 plus tax above advertised. Then the plane. Plastic seats that do not recline or have any head support adjustment. I'm 5'10" and my knees touched the next seat. The over 6' gu next to me had his legs spread into both my area and the woman next to him just to try and fit at all. The only complimentary drink was water. No entertainment screen and the most laughable tray table I've ever seen. I had a cup of small Starbucks coffee and it wouldn't even sit flat on the little narrow tray. I used to fly frontier exclusively because the prices where really great and so was everything else. I'll never fly frontier again if I can help it."
Cons: "I lost my bag on a direct flight from Denver to Austin. Once Frontier lost my bag, a representative gave me a claim number and a number to call for inquiries and a status update. I called the lost baggage claim department several times and not once did they answer my call. I had to leave a few voice mails to an automated system. Finally, someone after 12 hours from leaving my initial voicemail called me back to let me know that my bag was found and would be delivered to the my friend's address. The bag was not delivered to my friend's house until 1:30am the following night, which was 36 hours after my flight had landed in Denver from Austin. Frontier also said that they would refund me the $40, but that they happened either. Frontier has very low air fares, but I now know that is in fact very deceiving and ultimately not in fact true. Asking customers to pay $40 both ways to check a bag is not worth it if they can't even safely transport a bag on a direct flight."
Pros: "Nothing. Worst Airline. Will never travel in this Airline. We will ask everybody to whom we know not to travel in this Airline"
Cons: "I arrived at Austin airport one hour before my flight and no one was at the Frontier counter to help with a boarding pass and check my bag in. I had no choice but to miss my flight and they wouldn't give me a refund and basically told me it was my fault because I didn't arrive two hours prior to boarding? The Lady at the Delta counter told me no one had been at the Frontier counter for over an hour! So I recommend anyone spend the extra money and avoid this airline like the plague. Terrible terrible terrible!"
Cons: "Frontier's baggage policy is such a rip off and comparatively over priced. They allow 1 checked bag for 40$ whereas American Airlines and others charge 25$ a bag. For carry on items Frontier charges 60$(!) We were two passengers with each allowed a carry on item. After paying for our 2 bags, we were about to board when the lady at the boarding gate insisted on having us pay for our carry on ( whilst they clearly say one carry on item per person ). We were threatened with being kicked off the flight if we didn't pay for the carry on. Other passengers were also subjected to this behaviour. Never flying Frontier again. Rude boarding attendant, and a rip off baggage policy."
Cons: "The staff at the Frontier check in desk was extremely rude. (Which I can imagine is because they spend their day getting fussed at because of how awful Frontier is). I was charged over $100 per way for my family to bring very small carry on items onto the plane. I have NEVER heard of being charged for very small backpack sized carry ons. When I questioned the staff member, she looked at me and literally did not respond. She stared at me like I was speaking another language. I waited over an hour and a half for our checked bags to come to the baggage claim area. Everyone was looking for Frontier staff to help us as our bags didn't seem to be coming. The two staff members we found were HORRIBLE and extremely rude. They stood there leaning against the wall staring at us and telling us they couldn't help us - It isn't their department? The seats are uncomfortable- they do not recline at all. They charge for EVERYTHING on the plane- including drinks (non-alcoholic). Overall, the staff was rude, the charges were outrageous, and the flight was uncomfortable. I have never had such a horrible experience and will NEVER fly Frontier again. ."
Cons: "My flight was delayed for 6 and a half hours. On top of that the airline charges $35 each way to have a carry on so I had to pay $70 on top of my already $200 something ticket. Then they charged $2 on the flight for a soda which is normally complimentary on all other airlines I have flown on. Then when I called customer service they said there was nothing they could do or credit any of the fees I incurred from paying for carry on baggage and said it was too bad the flight was delayed they didn't care at all."
Cons: "The woman at the check in counter was rude, and by the end she had me in tears my bag was fine on the fight in but she insisted on charging me 60 dollars on the way home I had no money or credit cards on me so I had to beg a stranger for money, and when I gave her the 60 dollars she said with a grin on her face we don't accept cash at that point I broke down not knowing what to do she announced one minute to board and finally they let me on I was a mess by then! Never again will I fly Frontier!!!!!!!!!!! Robin M. Cahill 215-669-1108"
Pros: "clean plane"
Cons: "I haven't flown Frontier in a while. I didn't realize I have to buy my seat too? What the heck is that? Sure it's only another $13 min. But here's the catch, you get a seat They've replaced the pull down table with a small flip down "table" that is about 1/3 the size of a standard table. While this does offer more legroom, it makes eating difficult and uncomfortable. I could not rest a standard square salad container on it during the flight. Luckily, I had a plastic bag from the vendor that I could put over my slacks to act as a big placemat. I didn't want to spill dressing on my pants. No WIFI onboard In short, I will be avoiding Frontier in the future. I do fly budget airlines like SW, but at least the attitude there is better. And what you get is clear."
Cons: "Start with paying for a carry-on, which made this "cheap" flight as expensive as a better airline. And paying for a seat assignment?! Didn't get a chance to experience paying for water onboard, as the entire flight was cancelled. Thanks to their lack of connection to other airlines, they couldn't get us where we were going prior to our RETURN date. So our lodging, car rental, etc all were completely wasted, at our expense - no vacation, but still had to pay for it. "Nothing we can do, sorry, it's the weather..." Really?! Weather explains a delay, not torpedoing the entire vacation. This airline is the absolute pits."
Cons: "HIDDEN. FEES. They charge you at least $17 at check-in to select ANY seat, and another $40 for a carry-on. The tray tables were (no joke) 4 inches by 8 inches, and barely fit a soda can, cup of ice, and snack. Seats were also hard as rock."
Cons: "I get their and theirs no one to check me in. I was an hour early and a half early and yet,I didn't see anyone at the front desk. I kept asking the flight group next door if they Had a clue weather or not they were their, and all I got for an hour str8 is " they'll be back shortly ". They never came. I missed my flight. And important meetings in Texas. Now I'm Re-schedule for Friday. When I'm Suppose to Be their Before Thursday. And besides all the "BS" they Charge You Extra and Hella Expensive on the Baggage and carry on. It's like ur Buying a House with all the Hidden Fees they Don't Mention. ***Worst Experience Yet"
Pros: "NOTHING! They cancelled it!"
Cons: "They cancelled my flight the night before, their website gave confusing information (some places said it was on time, some said cancelled), and I was on hold for SEVEN HOURS!!!!! They never actually answered the phone. Guess what? I went to the airport in person, and nobody was at the Frontier counter for 3 hours. When someone finally showed up, THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE NUMBER I WAS ALREADY ON HOLD WITH! I told him I'd been awake the entire night trying to solve this issue. SCREW IT! In the end, I went with Delta, costing me $441 more dollars on top of what Frontier stole! Delta was fantastic, the guy who booked me was hilarious and helpful, and I'm never messing with this 3rd party nonsense again unless I get a full refund."
Cons: "All frontier cares about is nickle and diming their customers. The flight was not too much less than any of the other airlines, but I should've done reviews before choosing them. They charge you $20 for your seat on top of your fare when you try to check in 24 hours early. They charge more for a carry on than a checked bag. They do not provide anything complimentary during the flight. Drinks are $2. Overall, I spent just as much as I would've with Southwest of American, but I felt ripped off and unappreciated. If you want a loyal customer base, Fronteir, I suggest you change your flight policies. This is 2016 and customer service is everything."
Pros: "The crew was friendly."
Cons: "Brand new Airbus had computer problems that required us to return to the gate after 45 minutes on the tarmac. Cold restart was required. That required another 45 minutes. Then we had to wait for 1/2 an hour for a maintenance crew to arrive so they could sign off on the problem??? Seriously? Why wasn't the maintenance crew already waiting for the plane once the decision was made to return to the gate? One would have thought after such an inconvenience that Frontier could afford to let go of some of its $5 sodas or pretzels for free to the passengers, are you kidding...NOT! We were offered about 4 ounces of warm water. Yup, they would not even let go of their ice. I guess the lesson is that you live and learn, I will never fly Frontier again."
"Spirit had a huge meltdown this week. DO NOT FLY SPIRIT. My whole itinerary was blown up."
"Excelente viajar con spirit"
"Horrible experience. I booked my flight nearly 2 months in advance. Paid in full. We had so much trouble checking in online. I paid extra for reserved seats so my wife and I could sit together. Somehow, we had two different seats. It was a horrible hassle to get us to sit together. They didnt have my reservation or reserved seating. My check in apparently failed and didn't show on their part that we paid and reserved our flight. If it wasn't for my wife getting frustrated and a little wild we would have missed our flight. Keep in mind we showed our confirmation showing paid in full with reserved seating. It was really a terrible experience. I am all for cheaper flights, but I am truly not going to be flying with them anymore. It is a horrible feeling almost missing your flight for an issue that was not your own."
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Pros: "The crew wasvprofessional and very helpful"
Cons: "No Covid 19 safety. No one was wearing masks. Staff didn’t stop anyone from taking them off. And the flight was packed."
Cons: "The flight attendants were rude to customers"
Pros: "Everything was great. The crew was amazing & I felt very comfortable"
Cons: "But a five hour delay on top of an already 5 hour layover was extremely exhausting. I know it is out of everyone’s control so I do not blame spirit"
Pros: "The seats were bigger than the first flight of the day."
Cons: "There were unused rows. Why do they always have people grouped together? We're supposed to be keeping a distance. This is not an isolated incident."
Cons: "It was appalling the place was 100% full when we are in the middle of a global pandemic. Shame on the greed of Spirit"
Pros: "Everything went well and smooth, clean plane."
Pros: "The amazing and nice flights attendants. By that I mean, they were very clear in instruction and greeted passengers with smiling faces."
Cons: "Reclining seats lol"
Pros: "No wifi available. Seats do not recline. That bites."
Cons: "Provide wifi to travelers."
Pros: "Stewardesses were very nice and pleasant. We left timely and arrived on time."
Cons: "My seat got randomly assigned and I was put on the back row window seat with no window. I wish I could have selected my seat from a list of free spots (w/o extra charge). I don’t like that you are charged for everything: seat change, water, and any snack. I would expect at least water as passengers get dehydrated from flying. Seats are uncomfortable, not much space from seat in front, and there is no recline. Feels crammed. Lacks hospitality majorly as I am charged for every little thing. I hope they don’t start charging for oxygen intake. I was not informed of entertainment options, but I’m sure they were not inexpensive. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. There are other airline options that are less expensive (after you add all the additional fees up) and much more comfortable and hospitable."
Cons: "Spirit isn’t an airline for frequent travelers. The aircraft is always delayed to depart due to beionh last in line after reputable airlines, files the have check in counters in popular airports or located on bottom levels, not accommodating for travelers that missed flights, and last but not least their luggage weight requirements are extremely low compared to all other airlines. The normal requirement is 50lbs and Spirit is 40 so one checked bag is $70. By the time you pay for every single detail you could be on a Delta Airline with complementary Biscotti and water!"
Cons: "Took my money and never deliver the paid services! If you’re late to reach your flght, your whole itinary, doesn’t matter how may flights you may have in it will be cancelled! No refunds, no flight changes, doesn’t matter if you did everthing you can to reach the consecutive flights on time!!! No REFUND for the flights you did not miss. This airline capitalize on your misfortune to make their profit without having to deliver the services you paid for up front! Also, they have lots of hidden fees after you purchase your ticket. Picking your seats so your family could fly together will cost more than the price of another ticket! Don’t forget the carry-on cost of $40 or more! Terrible business practice, they bully the customer because they can get away with it! Do business with them at your own risk!"
Pros: "Boarding was easy"
Cons: "Not roomy, on the returning flight the person behind me kicked my chair the entire flight on top of being surrounded by children on the flight there and back. They should at least let you know you're surrounded by crying babies I would have never booked or paid more to not sit around it. I understand people have to travel with kids but it was my only vacation wouldn't fly spirit again. On top of I called spirit airlines to help extend my flight and the guy couldnt/wouldn't help me told me to check online, but their system that day was not cooperating"
Cons: "I'm not sure how it's legal that spirit doesn't include the exit tax for a country when every single other airline does include it in their KAYAK posted price. There is literally a tax window in San Pedro Sulu, Honduras that says for "spirit airlines passengers" charging $47 per person that my family of 5 had to pay to get out of honduras. Continental would have been cheaper. The exit tax for a country is a required tax. Why is the tax included in the KAYAK posted continental price but not spirit? Only spirit airlines passengers had to pay it. That's messed up. Kayak should be more aware that prices they list aren't truly accurate as all the required taxes were not included. I'm not talking about baggage fees or meal fees or seat selection fees which aren't required if you don't want to pay it, I'm talking about a required tax to get back on the plane."
Cons: "They are cheap, at first, but it will cost you. You have to pay for bags. (If you fly Southwest you don't have to pay for bags). Our flight got canceled. Like many others did. We were stuck at the airport for 12 hours. Their lack of professionalism, customer service and empathy made the experience worse. They're policy is that they do not accommodate - ever. Intel from the airport says they are always having problems. Say they constantly cancel flights and that they come up with different excuses as to why. This time was the storm which had already passed and had not affected many of the destinations people were flying in or out of."
Cons: "Yes, the initial fare is cheaper, but that's only because they nickle and dime you for each tiny thing. Once you pay for bags and seats(!), you've spent the same amount of money as the other airlines, and have had to do extra work. I'd rather pay more up front and not have to pay for each little service. The seats do not lean back and there's not a lot of leg room. I'm short and I was still uncomfortable. Unfortunately our flight was delayed over 3 hrs. This was due to weather, so that's just something that happens, but I was already frustrated so it just made things worse. I won't use Spirit again."
Pros: "Finally - an airline got it right! My husband and I appreciated that we only paid for what WE wanted to use. We did not have to pay for what the airline thought we might want. They got rid of the horrible airplane food that we always felt obligated to eat because we paid for it. We never used the screens in the seat back because we are readers. Also - when was the last time you heard the captain announce that the flight arrived early!! While the seats are a little tight, we didn't mind it. Will fly them again in the future."
Pros: "The flight price is good, but they will quickly add extra fees if you aren't careful! Check in online & print your own boarding pass or pay $10. Don't just buy luggage that indicates the measurements are in line with their free carry-on measurements because they will be happy to charge $65 per bag because the wheels or handle makes it a fraction of an inch too wide! You'll pay to choose a seat next to your companion or if you want a cup of coffee. Be careful with Spirit Airlines. THEY START OFF WITH THE BEST PRICE, BUT THE EXTRA FEES MAKE THEM AS EXPENSIVE OR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THEIR COMPETITORS!"
Cons: "They will quickly add extra fees if you aren't careful! Check in online & print your own boarding pass or pay $10. Don't just buy luggage that fits their free carry-on measurements because they will be happy to charge $65 per bag because the wheels or handle makes it a fraction of an inch too wide! You'll pay to choose a seat next to your companion or if you want a cup of coffee. Be careful with Spirit Airlines. They wanted to charge us for 2 carry on bags $260 RT because the two carry-ons were 1/16th inches too wide. Their attitude was all about themselves with a merciless disregard for the passenger. Their website shows the free carry-on measurement without indicating the wheels or handles inclusion, but you'll find that part in the small print below, and then at the gate, they have you "flagged" because you didn't pay an extra fee for a checked bag. When they scanned our boarding passes, they immediately told us to step aside to measure our bags, telling us to pay $130. We ripped off the wheels and handles in front of them and they still harassed us over a sixteenth of a inch piece of plastic that made it slightly too wide to fit into their frame/mold...1/16th of an inch! Rediculous!! We will never fly them again! Be warned!"
Pros: "I could tell the plane was relatively new because of the details. The crew members were always available and helpful."
Cons: "No room for the legs, no recliners, small restroom. When boarding, 3 people had the same seat, one of the crew members solved the problem because luckily the flight was not a 100% full. 0 entertainment for the 6 hours flight (it was the same plane from FLL to Houston and San Diego) so I had to try and sleep (which was impossible). When I felt thirsty and wanted a cup of water, they told me it was a $3 dollar charge per bottle, I've never been denied water in my whole life, I found it nonsence. Overall, I would never fly Spirit again."
Pros: "i like the assigned seating, i makes not rush to get on the plane first because ur seat is ur seat."
Cons: "seemingly all the rows of seating are too short. i'm only 5-11 tall and my knees were constantly against the seat in front of me. i sat in the middle seat on row 22. the lade next to me sat on the isle and even her knees were hitting and was uncomfortable. at one point the person in front of her leaned his seat back and it was all completely in her space, make her extremely uncomfortable. we had to ask flight attendant to ask the man to put his seat up some to give her some more room and comfort."
Pros: "The initial price"
Cons: "1. The flight was cancelled but no email or text was sent out. 2. There were no accommodations for the inconvenience and although the agent did his best to diffuse the already high emotions from he was unable to offer better options to appease the customers 3. The only option I was given was to travel over 2 hours to another airport again there was no accommodations provided 4. On the flight the seats are too close and they did not recline; my flight was little over 3 hours and I was so ready to get off the plane 5. Flight attendants were not approachable 6. Fees that are added after purchasing ticket: Seat, fast pass 7. Lack of confidence in the airline"
Pros: "Clean and friendly staff"
Cons: "Upon arrival to the airport, I was told to stand in a line. Once I flagged someone down and asked if I could use a kiosk since I was not checking a bag, they directed me to the right location. Upon attempting to check-in, the kiosk printed a ticket that read "see attendant." I was placed on a line to wait again. Once I finally reached the attendant she told me that I was late in checking in. Apparently, the system does not allow you to check-in less then 45 minutes before departure and I was one minute shy of that. The then proceeded to tell me that I could not get on the flight despite having time to make it and would be charged a $100 rebooking fee. I was livid. I had to wait over six hours for no reason. My seat was empty when the plane took off. There was no reason to keep me off the flight."
Pros: "Despite my gripes, the staff was professional and polite."
Cons: "Firstly, I understand a discount airline will try it's best to place fees anywhere possible, but it seemed as though I was living in the fine print. Concerning luggage fees, the staff at every counter had a different opinion on what could be considered a personal items. While heading to LAX had one standard, returning to IAH had another. Rules seemed to be arbitrary. For example, a backpack was ok, but wheels on a backpack might change it's "category." On the speakers, "small backpacks" was permissible, but this is subjective. This is in addition to the fact that some Spirit employees told customers "any backpack is okay because it's a backpack." I fly frequently and have the smallest lightest carry-on case made by Hershey. I have never had problems with it's dimensions. It BARELY poked it's top out of that cage-fitting stand. I mean, it skimmed the top. Really, it was the handle that peaked out. I should have taken a picture. I had to pay $65 dollars for that one. Then, another $65 for a small backpack for my little cousin because it had wheels that couldn't retract! 2) The obvious confusion on whether to use kiosks or not was also apparent. People did not understand if both were needed. The confusion resulted in people asking other people to watch their luggage while they went over to the kiosk! In a post-911 world, this is not only poor airport etiquette, but downright dangerous. There should be signs stating: "If you need to check-in luggage, print and get in line, unsure if you need to pay, get in line, or if you have one personal item (showing measurements), print your boarding pass and continue to security. 3) No complimentary anything is given during flight. Sell. Sell. Sell. I and the three family members that accompanied me will NEVER book with Spirit again."
Cons: "High and unreasonable fees such as charging to choose where to sit and for carry on bags. Very little space on airline, small tray tables and no backseat pockets for you to store your water or anything like that. Spirit over books flights and scares passengers by causing them to think their purchased flight isn't definite. Bribes people with free round trip flights to fix their mistake but even I wouldn't want their free flights because my experience with them was that horrible I wouldn't want to suffer through another Spirit flight."
Pros: "The staff on the flight were very nice."
Cons: "Where to start... I understand the concept of a base fee and you pay a la carte for everything else but this only really works for a single person traveling with a small personal item ONLY. You are literally charged for EVERYTHING. Which is mostly stated on their website with the exception of the checked bag and carry on fees of $50 and $55, respectively. Those fees can vary depending on who you ask....And even though they say you can save by using the kiosk ($20 to go to the counter), we ended up going to the counter anyway because the kiosk could not complete our transaction!!! On our return, we had to go through customs which requires you to get your checked bag (decided to save the $5 and check it on the way home), go through customs and then drop off your checked bag to continue your flight. Well, the Spirit representative decided it would be a great time to take a break and be completely MIA from their post. We had to go completely out of the terminal and back to a counter to recheck our bag. Resulting in a very close call on not making our connecting flight. The long and short of it all: We "Saved" $100.00 total on the initial ticket purchase. We paid over $220.00 ADDITIONAL to have our one carry on and sit next to each other ($20.00 each seat, each leg of trip). Never flying Spirit again and have been telling everyone not to. Bad Spirit!"
Cons: "The woman working the baggage claim area was so rude and acted like she didn't even want to be there. My luggage was ruined (they ripped open the top of the suitcase and there was a huge hole in it) and she said all she could do is give me a $25 credit for our next flight and we'd have to put through a claim first and wait. Then when we asked for a supervisor she said there's no point in calling him because he won't help us. The supervisor finally came and refunded us what we paid for our luggage but that still doesn't even come close to covering the cost of our luggage."
Pros: "Seats were fine, and the cabin felt nice and cool. The attendants were nice as the interacted with fellow passengers. The flight felt smooth, and they got us to our destination safely."
Cons: "The employees at the gate were extremely unorganized, and played a confusing back-and-forth game on the intercom during the boarding. Although the attendants were curtious to those in need, they lacked in competence. Many passengers either a) could not follow instructions as request, or b) control their children. The attendants just seemed to let it slide, an not show any enforcement. In lieu of the 5-7 minute announcement touching on passenger safety, and respect towards fellow customers, a little more effort from the employees would have gone a long way on his flight. Finally, once we arrived, our gate was occupied. Then, the jetwave operated did not show up for some time. Therefore, we did not disembark the plane until an hour after landing. Apologies for the lengthy complaint, but this seems to be a trend for Spirit, and it's a bit ridiculous. However, thank you for getting us to our destination safely."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 2 hours and they did not communicate this information very well. I was told to go to gate L7 and waited and waited without any information. Then they told us to go to gate L1 and then to go to gate L11 - it was very disorganized . The employees were not helpful and they seemed annoyed at all the questions. It was very crowded in the terminal and they kept telling us to move back to let other passengers off the plane but there was no where to go. All in all it was not a good experience to fly with Spirit."
Pros: "The lady working at the gate 17 checkin for the flight from TPA to IAH was excellent!"
Cons: "I arrived to checkin in my bag early so I could relax in the airport only to be created with a sign stating that no one would be available to assist me until 4 PM which was two hours later? I then proceeded to pay by the kiosk to check my bag to be safe but then was unable to leave it. I then had to still carry the bag around only to return and be at the back of an extremely long line of people waiting. I finally get through then proceeded to my gate 17 to checkin. Once one the plane I noticed several people with bags the size of mine as carry on which meant I just wasted $52. I was extremely disgusted because I could have possibly had this issue resolved and saved my hard earned money if someone was at the baggage checkin desk."
Pros: "The flight was cheap."
Cons: "1 hour delay to start. Then ground crew dud something to knock out a flight display screen in the cabin. 45 mins later the screen is fixed, but we're waiting on paperwork. 30 mins later paper work is complete but we need a new passenger count. 30 to 45 mins to get a passenger count! Meanwhile the flight crew is snippy, but they serve a thimble of water and cookies. Finally they offer $50 vouchers for your next flight, you just have to get in contact with "Adam" who is somewhere around the airport we just left. So. . . Yeah."
Pros: "My flight from San Diego to Houston, TX was Awesome minus the seats, couldn't get comfortable! I'm tall, so my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me. That's really my only complaint! Oh my bad, I forgot to add the ticket counter..the ticket doesn't open until 5:45 so as a result of that, the line was super long! Free bags and head of the line privileges(Military), quick cheap flight from San Diego to Houston at the last minute=winning! If Spirit continue to improve their airline and I can get an exit row, I will be taking this flight more often!"
Cons: "Long lines, due to Spirit opening less than two hours(5:45) before their morning flight( it builds anxiety of missing the flight), you pay for refreshments, and the lack of comfort because of the seats being too close!"
Pros: "I enjoyed the smooth ride and coming and going"
Cons: "I believed and considered it a rip off having to check 3 other bags that weight less than 20 pounds at the chk in and charged me $50 each . I only had to chk in a big luggage that weigh 45 pounds and paid $55.00 going to Houston Texas then to sandiago California. How is it that i was able to carry on my other three small luggages (one per person.....a total of three people ) to then charge me .....$211.00 coming from sandiego back home? The gentle man who chked all my bags said " I got lucky at the begining of my trip !!.....WHAT IS GOING ON ? ....I have been flying spirit for over 20 years and i have NEVER encounted such horrable service that alone charged a ridiculously price for my small luggages. .....I will never fly spirit airline AGAIN ......."
Cons: "Check in at Atlanta airport was a mess - there were several lines and it was not clear which line i should take to check in for my flight. Despite i arrived 2 hours before take off, I almost missed the flight."
Pros: "The woman at the airport desk was wonderful and very helpful. She took off 10 dollars from each bag because she said she could see that we tried to login. She put notes in the record and said we could possibly get more refunded but I have not heard from anyone about it. Now I get to call and be on hold for ever. She also informed us that the flight confirmation number we had was a kayak, not spirit number???????? There was no indication about this. Also boarding was very efficient."
Cons: "When I purchased the ticket from Kayak I was not informed about the need to purchase a seat or bags or given the opportunity to do so. There was no notification that one could not have a personal item and a small bag -- only one. When I tried to get my boarding pass on line, I was unable to do so. At that time I learned about the baggage policy. The system had me in a loop that I could not get out of. I was not allowed to request an account so I concluded that I might have gotten one when I logged in. I tried to sign in repeatedly and asked for a new password because it kept saying it was wrong. I never got it and I had to leave for the airport or risk missing the flight. So, I was charged $40 per bag (two of us were flying) for both the outbound and return trips. That is roughly twice what I would have been charged if I had been informed and had been given the chance to buy the bags when I bought the ticket. It would have been much cheaper to buy a ticket on another carrier once I paid 160 for two small (what would easily fit in overhead). I had a carry on (personal item) so had to pay. Our flight was delayed and the gate was moved several times. We were not kept informed about the weather conditions, the fact that the plane was on the ground, or what time the flight was supposed to arrive after all the delays. The flight crew was too busy visiting with each other to deal with a problem in the seat next to me -- I kept trying to get their attention. A tall man kept his feet in the aisle and, most importantly, he was talking loudly on his cell phone until the plane was barreling down the runway to take off. They had told us to put electronics in flight mode way before that. He just kept talking. I tried to get the crews attention but no problem."
Cons: "Do not understand their business model. Spoke to numerous people coming and going and everyone was upset about something. All of the hidden costs were the most mentioned along with frequent flight delays. Never fly Spirit with a connection! But it all trickles down. Because their luggage size and weight standards are less than the industry standards [Scam] and the attending charges check in is at a snails pace. Took us 30 minutes to check in with no line because one person was unpacking their bag to get under weight charge. Also since they are dealing with irritable and angry customers all day long the employees attitudes are terrible. The most common remark I heard, and I concur, was I will never fly this airline again. This is the part that leads to my confusion of the overall business model. At some point you run out of first time customers."
Cons: "Pay for your luggage, Pay for picking a seat, Pay because you luggage weighs too much, Pay for priority boarding, donate to help make them greener, donate! really? Ha! Finally, the fact that the seats are so narrow and so close to the seat in front of you. It is almost impossible to get in with out falling all over yourself and the person next to you has their elbow in your side and I am not a tall person and my knees almost touch the seat in front of you and because they are so close together, they do not recline anymore. Thank goodness the flight was only 2.5 hours!"
Pros: "We were able to fit our duffle bags under the seats, so we did not have to pay the extra $55 each to have a bag with us."
Cons: "They did not even offer a complementary glass of water and instead tried to charge us $3 each to have water on the flight. The no carry on baggage policy is just a scam for them to get more money and we heard multiple arguments between passengers/crew over baggage charges. In general, the crew was argumentative, making the flight a less than pleasant environment. The actual plane was outrageously uncomfortable for a multiple hour flight -- the seats didn't recline and there was no sort of headrest cushioning."
Cons: "I was seated in an aisle seat (5D) with two morbidly obese men sitting in the middle and window seats next to me. Both men were over six feet tall and approximately 350 lbs. Neither one fit in the dimensions of their seat, therefore I was forced to relinquish a third of my seat. Question: Why don't the airline personnel require these people to purchase 2 seats? You can post a notice online (where most of us buy our tickets). If passengers exceed certain ht/wt parameters, they must buy 2 seats. You enforce bag size/wt. restrictions. Why not people?Obesity is epidemic in our country. I consider it false advertising when Spirit tells me I am purchasing a seat...I paid full price for one-half to two-thirds of a seat."
Cons: "Seats don't recline and are close to each other. I didn't have much leg room, and I have short legs. The food was the standard fare -- soda pop, chips, etc. but you have to pay for it and they only take credit cards. That brings up my biggest dislike for Spirit: charging for everything. The ticket was lower priced than any of the other airlines I could find. The reason why is that they charge for everything. Carry on bags are $45 if you check in online, and $55 at the airport (that's each way.) Checked bags cost money. Want to pick your seat? That will cost you. Want a drink and snack on your 3 hour flight? Give us money. In the end, it actually would have been cheaper to fly on another airline that offers free carry on baggage and complimentary snacks. Then there's the check in procedure. I tried to check in online. Got my seats picked out, 1 carry on, things were good. I even opted to rent a car through them because they offered a rental at a really cheap rate (but the taxes and fees were twice the cost of renting the car, which they don't tell you up front.) Got to the point where you print your boarding pass and got a message saying "something went wrong (gee it's so hard being popular.)" Too many people using their website at once. The message said to print out the message and take it to the counter to avoid being charged a fee at the airport. OK. Went to the airport to finish checking in, showed the print out to the person working there, and was told to use a self-check in kiosk. I went to the kiosk, and found I had to start over. Picked out my seats (different ones than the one I had picked before,) claimed one carry on at a higher price, and called the Spirit employee over. She said that because it didn't work online, I had to pay the higher fee. Total BS! I won't fly Spirit again, that's for sure."
Pros: "Staff were very pleasant."
Cons: "My issue is with the purchase of my flight and the failure of your website to make the need or lack of need to purchase additional items. I purchased through orbitz and was not allowed at that time to advise of my need for wheelchair assistance or pick a seat. I got on your website and ended up purchasing an aisle seat to accomodate my disabilty and paid to bring on a carry on bag. The bill indicated i was charged twice so i had to call when i was informed i did not have to pay for a seat and i did have to pay for tge caary on. I could not figure out your system and most likely will not fly on your plane again because of that fact. I paid an extra 45 to accomodate a disability which is unsettling but more a problem when you cannot figure out the additioal charges until it is too late to cancel them. Then, on a plane that was not full, they gave my seat to another passenger which t ook quige sometime to fix"
Pros: "Apparently low fare"
Cons: "They don't disclose that it costs $45 to carry on a bag and $65 to check it. You pay extra to chose a seat assignment and you are charged extra to check in in person at airport. The parking attendant told me that Spirit cancelled an earlier flight because they didn't have a flight attendant and on my return trip the flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. Almost impossible to get someone on the phone to cancel the flight. The seat spacing is extremely tight and seats do not recline. A can of Coke is $3."
Pros: "Spirit's $199 round-trip fare was very reasonable, especially since I was traveling Christmas Eve at the height of the holidays. (I should add that Kayak.com's review, which they emailed to me, is poorly written. If they're assigning my critique 5 categories, Excellent, Good and Okay are clear.... but "Poor" and "Mediocre" are too similar. Kayak ought to buy a thesaurus. Which is a worse or better rating, Poor or Mediocre?? Way too vague!)"
Cons: "At my gate at LAX, I got on line because Spirit said my flight to Houston was boarding soon. Then the video screen said, "Flight and boarding time delayed 45 minutes." Fine, delays happen. I rejoined the line later, but the "delayed 45 minutes" had vanished from the video screen, which now said "CLOSED." Damn, did I miss my flight because the delay was cured and the original boarding time reinstated? (No, but it looked that way.) None of Spirit's constant speaker announcements explained anything. So my fellow passengers and I waited there confused. Finally, with the long line barely moving, my gate's video screen changed to "Spirit Flight to Denver boarding in 1 hour." Did I miss my flight? (No, but it looked the way.) Congratulations Spirit, on putting the 100 passengers standing in line into a panic. Your pathetic lack of communication is abominable. Haven't any Spirit employees ever flown your airline and noticed how inept the service is? Even my flight attendant was curt with me when I politely requested a soda. Moral: Spirit's price is wonderfully affordable, but you get what you pay for."
