On the flight to New York with Delta we had to check our carry ons at the gate because it wasn't enough room for bags in the airplane.so we asked when we checked our one suitcase if we can/should check our carry ons to avoid having to do it at the gate. The delta employee told me sure no problem. He checks in my one suitcase I purchased gives me the tracking paper and says ok have a good flight. I asked him so what is with our carry ons and he told us that that would cost 25$ and we can't check those in at the drop off?!?We ended up taking the carry ons with to the gate and then off course there wasn't enough room on the airplane that we had to check it in. And surprise it was free?? We had never issues with Lufthansa, icelandair etc. with checking our bags at drop off to not needing to carry it around and than still end up to check it at the airplane. Every airline has been more than happy that we volunteer to check our bags that they don't have the trouble at the gate."

Cons: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

The flight attendants were very pleasant & efficient. They only served snacks on this short flight but were very good at ensuring everyone had at least one or more beverages. Paying extra should be if I want to upgrade a seat and not for a seat in an area that I already paid for. This was definitely not an upgraded seat. I will avoid flying Sun Country in the future."

I understand that things don't always go right but it is important to provide good customer service on those occasions. SC failed me."

Every flight I have American Airlines is delayed. This was no exception. This one was delayed over 2 hours.

After the passengers got off the plane, the man at the counter came on the P.A and said it’ll be a few minutes, they’re catering the plane now from the back to the front. The flight crew still needed to get on a preform safety checks. He apologized again. Then it was 8:40, time to take off and we’re still waiting to even board. The man at the counter said again, thank you for your patience and relayed the same message, only this time the flight attendants were walking away from the gate. Around 9 some lady higher up told the man to announce that the flight crew had timed out and stand by crew was on the way to the gate, said sorry again. A little later the man says sorry, there’s a gate change. You’re going to K6 now. When we get to the new gate it’s almost 9:30pm and while we were all gathered at the gate, the flight crew that supposedly “timed out” showed up and proceeded to get on the plane. Passengers started getting mad and saying we were lied to and to just tell us the truth. Chicago PD started showing up. We finally got on the plane but it would be another 30 minutes before we moved because of issues getting our bags off the original plane. We ended up being almost 2 hours delayed."

Cons: "the drink service came through pretty late in the flight. i asked for hot tea. a few minutes later i was provided with extremely hot tea. about 10 minutes later it was a temperature i could tolerate drinking. about 1/3 through the drink i was required to throw away my drink because we were preparing for landing. i understand that, fine. bad timing. it’s just a drink. what was unsatisfactory is that the attendant rudely commented “you have to give us your drink. it’s not that long of a flight.” the comment made me feel like i had done something wrong even though i had just been drinking my tea as soon as it was at a drinkable temperature. i was not impressed with the attendant. also, there weren’t any biscotti cookies."

Cons: "I was traveling today with my daughter, who is 6 months pregnant, my 3 1/2 & 18 month old grandsons, my husband & son-in law on an international flight from Chicago to Manchester. I was very disappointed a 757 was used for an international flight! No attempt was made by staff to accomodate our family with a extra seat for the infant, even though there were a large number of rows with empty middle seats (4 of which were directly behind them!) The 1st indication of the beginning of the NIGHTMARE was when the plane arrived in Chicago and overshot the gate, this caused almost an hour delay! (We heard our crew saying "oops" while looking out the window at the plane arriving & then again when they were discussing it would have been faster if the plane had used a different method to get to the gate again.) This was then followed by a mechanical problem with a frozen water valve, requiring us to be de-iced x2! Then we started to taxi out and again had to return because of a hydraulic problem that required repair. I think we were delayed almost 3.5 hours. The crew did bring a round of water during the onground delays, and offered free drinks later in the flight. The icing on the cake was not getting the stroller back at the gate because there were no baggage handlers. I can't tell you how much FUN that was trying to corral a toddler & 3yr old with all our carry-on bags while getting thru customs! Did I mention in our haste to get off that plane we overlooked my daughter's winter maternity coat in the overhead! May be time to switch to the Friendlier Skies of United for our UK travel!"

Had to pay again at the airport for the extra bag. This is highly unfair."

They darkened the windows when it was dark outside and they darkened the cabin, so we couldn't look out the window. It was dark outside--why the need to darken the windows?? If I fly American, I would bet my entire checking account that the plane will be delayed well over 2 hours."

Cons: "Plane seemed very dated. No individual entertainment No USB chargers Not much space"
Cons: "The airline "randomly" selected me for extra security. Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

Cons: "My outbound flight to Manila had an overnight layover in Japan. I asked at the luggage check-in at O'Hare International Airport if they can check it all the way through as I had planned to go outside of the Narita airport for the layover. They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information."

Young woman to my left by window was tall and broad and slept but took up all elbow and shoulder space. Guy to my right was very obese, sweaty so kept wiping his neck, head, and face with a cloth. Also had terrible body odor. I spent the entire flight in a narrow middle seat, hunching my shoulders due to lack of space. Both people taking up some of what little room I had."

The day to day staff at ohare and on flight were good and courteous."

Cons: "My boarding pass was not scanning which was holding up the line. A second person came over to approve me getting on the plane. That person made me check the size of my carry on bag, which had gotten bigger from some things I purchased in the airport but was just a touch too large for their sizer. She attempted to check the bag meaning I wouldn't have it until my final destination, which I was NOT ok with for two reasons. One was i had a 3 hour layover after this flight and needed work materials inside. The second was i was on a time crunch to get my ride at my final destination and was only traveling with carry on. She was very rude and insitant on it fitting inside the sizer as she stood over me with the tag to check my bag. I managed to take some things out that I moved into my backpack, which meant I had to awkwardly carry my blanket and travel pillow onto the plane. The most frustrating part was when I got on the plane, it was oversized top carryon bins, so the extra inch my bag grew would have been fine. Because of the time it took me to rearrange, i was the last one on the plane and all the bins had been filled with tiny second bags, but a few people on the plane had seen what happened and they rearranged a space for me. Also my video screen was broken and everyone else's worked. And there were two screaming babies around me the whole flight, but that is no one's fault."
Pros: "That we got a standby flight 6 hours earlier than our scheduled 12 hour layover. This plane was far better, newer and nicer than our international flight from London. UA929 was the WORST!"

Only entertainment you have to pay extra for. The international flight UA929 was the WORST. Old enough to all have the loop playing screens and mine didn't even work."

Cons: "United is a horrible excuse for a company. 3 mechanical delays ultmately causing us to miss a wedding which was the reason for our trip. A 5 hour delay out and an overnight delay in the way home. We slept on the floor in the airport- one thing for us but disgusting to see United allowed this for elderly and families with toddlers and babies. The third mechanical delay occurred after we were finally bored and on the runway and they wouldn't let us deplane. Never have I been so terrified to fly."

Cons: "That you changed our seats, and, that there was no room in any of the overhead bins. So, the flight attendant told me that I needed to fight my way through the people coming toward me back up the aisle and check every overhead bin all the way back up to see if there was room for my one suitcase. Others had brought more than one bag up there. Finally they checked my one carry on bag. The ride was also really bumpy, worst that we've ever experienced. But that was due to weather conditions."
Pros: "Well I liked that I got there and that the price for the flights in total was $190 (kayak SLAYED at getting me the right price). But I was expecting a continuation of excellent service that I got in white planes New York to continue, and be elevated, because they didn't have the same troubles that my previous airport did."
Cons: "There were just too many failed opportunities. The biggest was the gate agent who was "just filling in for another guy who's suppose to be here." I'm like well if someone is in line, even if they hop in line, you need to give them the best service because you're the face of the company."

Cons: "On finding that my flight was cancelled, exactly 10 hours before my flight, I cancelled the flight because they didn't have another flight in a similar timeframe (it was just a 24hr trip). I cancelled the flight and they only gave me back credit for another spirit airlines flight that I must purchase in 60 days. They never gave me a reason for the cancellation. I then tried to call into their customer service line, which was completely disconnected (this was the number online and the one they had shared with me via email). Needless to say I will never fly with spirit again."

Cons: "We were delayed for about three hours but there were no announcements or screens displaying that information. There was no indication that we were even at the correct gate. People had to walk up one at a time and ask to confirm what was happening and that we were all at the correct gate. Two hours after our flight was supposed to take off, there was finally an announcement letting us know that there was a delay and our gate would be changed so we needed to move out of the way so another flight could use the gate, but not to too far because they didn't know when or where our flight would be leaving from. It was chaotic and disorganized for no reason. I understand that delays happen but the lack of communication was unacceptable."

Pros: "Plane's leather seats were comfortable and not as squashed as I thought they'd be. After I deplaned, I was lugging a heavy bag. One of the staffers insisted on carrying it to the gate entrance, then called over a wheelchair that was free, saying "That bag's way too heavy for you to carry that far." (to baggage claim) I was a little embarrassed -- but SOOO grateful! Thoughtful people like this make me want to keep using Spirit."

Cons: "It's a total bait you in with low initial price and then breathing costs 25 cents a minute from there on. Definitely ended up spending more and feeling ripped off in the end. Their kiosk at checkin kept saying there was someone else with my name and to talk to the front desk. I waited in line to get up to the desk and then the lady clicked a few things on her computer and was like okay our kiosk should work. Ummm hello, how about you just print my boarding pass and make this easier for me. She wanted me to go back to the kiosk and then wait in line again?!?! "I'm sorry sir even though our stuff doesn't work, that will be $10 dollars to print it here" Well I'm was already use to fees so throw one on my tab. Then on boarding they switched gates a couple times and talked over the intercom in something that wasn't english to explain where to go. Everyone on the flight had to play telephone to figure out where to go. Meanwhile the screen behind them as your scanning your ticket never changed to the correct location. I saw everyone literally asking them as they scanned the ticket if it was the right location. On the flight I've never had a rougher take off and landing on a sunny day. The pilot just kinda stood there with his head down at the end of each flight because he knew no one was going to give him and praise. Not to mention you're strapped to a skeleton of what once was an airplane chair and have what could only be an ash tray (even though you can't smoke) as a table in front of you. I would be willing to accept all of these issues if it truly was cheaper to fly here, but it's like a restaurant saying they have a $5 filet and then saying, Oh the fork will be $5, the knife $5, the napkin $3, the plate $7..."

Cons: "Airport was disorganized. Check in was long and a mess at 8:30 in the evening. Long lines. Staff not helpful. No checkin kiosk to get bag tag. Probably will not fly Spirit again."
Pros: "Met some pretty cool people in the seats next to us. Bathrooms were clean, easy to use, and easy to access. They had a bathroom light viable to all passengers to see whether or not they were occupied for all 3 bathrooms, which I really appreciated."
Cons: "My only complaint was that during our layover in Chicago we couldn't get off of the plane to get food. Eventually we just bought food on the flight because our trip in total was about 6 hours of flying. I wish there was more food options. Oh, and the crying baby behind us wasn't the best either, but we drowned it out with conversation."
Pros: "Overall this was a bad experience. Spirit forces you to pay $55 for a carry-on bag. I suppose I should have known this already, and I'm sure it was in the fine print of my ticket. So partly my own fault. But when you add in all the fees Spirit nickel and dimes you for, you could have purchased a ticket with a better airline for same price. In addition, the boarding process was slow and the staff was unprofessional. The flight attendants were rude, the seats do not recline at all, and I could feel a hard metal piece inside my headrest. I asked for a pillow but the flight attendant said none were available. I will not be flying Spirit again unless there are absolutely no other options."

Since Spirit doesn't have many airplanes we were redirected to rebook our flight which would not get us anywhere until Monday morning, if we use Spirit. They did offered flights with other airlines, but of course those were gone fast. I missed a race, asked if they could refund at least part of that fee and was told no. Crew was nice, honest and helpful."

Whenever I'm stuck on Spirit I'm sure to complain to anyone who will listen."
