"Snacks were good and offered on each flight during the trip. I checked my carry-on bag on the final flight, because the flight crew asked for volunteers."
"My luggage never arrived with me they might be coming the next dat we’ll see"
"Very disappointed and unprofessional so disrespectful"
"Brand new plane. Didn’t even have WiFi hooked up yet. That’s the only complaint."
"The seats were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The A/C didn't work and the crew didn't care. There was no in-flight entertainment. It's a must-have for a direct Seattle to Dulles flight."
"Never happened delayed at the last minute."
"We were delayed two hours and then missed our connection. We got rebooked only for it to be cancelled."
"One of the hardest landings I’ve been a part of. Also seats are terribly uncomfortable and we sat on the taxiway for 30 extra minutes because there were no gates available."
"Alaska Airlines staff members are super friendly and helpful!"
Cons: "ladue leaving dallas. late arriving toseattle so gate was gone. had to sit on tarmac after landing."
Pros: "Seat very comfy."
Cons: "Wish I could have ordered the cheese plate (wasn’t an option)."
Pros: "Beverages and WiFi worked"
Cons: "Boarding was confusing for all, first calling by row number and the changed to group at end. We find one of the flight attendants was extremely rude, the passenger sitting beside us had a small dog, and she force that passenger to push their dog firmly underneath the seat which I felt was hurting the dog and completely unnecessary. Later the same flight attendant outright refused to allow me to go to the bathroom at the front of the plane, I was sitting in row 11 and she sent me to the back of the plane where there was at least 4 people coming towards me. It was highly unprofessional and left me with a bad taste in my mouth."
Pros: "Enjoyed the space and comfort of the upgraded Premium seats. It is worth the extra price."
Cons: "Great trip, thank you 😊"
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "More than 1 counter open"
Pros: "The crew was very friendly. The seats were comfortable. But most of all, I felt safe on the flight."
Cons: "Nothing I can think of. Thank you for a peaceful flight."
Pros: "The crew and attendants Kimberly and Jade were very nice and helpful. The captain was the same as the previous flight from San Jose del Cabo."
Cons: "This plane had considerably less leg room than the previous plane in the A aisle. I would have booked a different aisle if I knew that I was going to be sacrificing leg room by being in the A aisle over B.C or D aisles."
Pros: "I lived! 5 stars"
Pros: "I don't fly often in Alaska ....i was impressed..very nice experience"
Pros: "Alaska airlines staff from checking in to flying set the bar in service standards. I have never been disappointed with their professionalism and will continue to use their services exclusively when I can."
Pros: "Accommodated to an earlier flight without questions asked."
Cons: "Always been a delight!"
Pros: "Ground staff and crew were great"
Cons: "Not much"
Pros: "Nothing horrible service."
Cons: "Everything . Meet customer expectations and we’ll as accommodations"
Cons: "Great flight considering Covid."
Cons: "First class seat broken wouldn’t recline. No food in first class? Cracker box not food."
Cons: "The wifi was challenging to use. Otherwise, it was a fantastic flight."
Pros: "NO social distancing - no real requirement to wear masks = their 'advertising' was a LIE"
Cons: "If they say they are requiring masks - they should actually back up their words with actions - it's a total lie - an irresponsible one at that."
Pros: "We landed 45 minutes early and the flight attendants were great"
Pros: "The crew was good. The problem was our Qantas flight from Auckland New Zealand, to Sydney, Australia, to San Francisco, to Seattle didn't sync with Alaska Air. We arrived in San Francisco after a very long flight. We had gotten our boarding passes in Auckland. When we went to board in SF, there was a glitch and they wouldn't let us board. It took a long time to get that fixed. We missed our flight (with our luggage on it), and had to wait several more hours. Plus Alaska Air had cancelled a flight mid morning and the trickle down result was many people were stuck and waiting on flights. Then we had to wait for a crew to come, then they found something wrong with the plane so had to get in a new plane. It was a long and hard day for everyone."
Cons: "I don't know how you sync airline tickets but if they had synced as they were supposed to, none of this would have happened."
Pros: "The flight crew was great, and the flight itself was smooth. The plane was very clean."
Cons: "There was an issue that was beyond the control of the ground staff (the ladies and gentlemen at the check-in counter) that resulted in a three hour delay. I think they could have been a little more forthcoming about the whole situation instead of just saying “we’re working on it, safety is our number one concern at Alaska Airlines.” They however give us a voucher for $75 credit toward our next flight with Alaska Airlines, and that notification came through before we had even disembarked at our destination. I appreciate their understanding and willingness to try to make an undesirable situation better. I would fly Alaska Airlines again."
Pros: "They were rude and the ride was tight. Over packed"
Cons: "Food was Dreadful. And no USB port working in my seat or those beside me I did notice some people had functioning USB ports but noticed others where they did not work either. Staff not remotely interested"
Pros: "I missed my flight and the lady who helped me get on the next flight was so helpful!"
Cons: "On my flight I was freezing. I saw first class received blankets and many of them were not being used. I explained to the flight attendant how cold I was and asked if I could purchase a blanket. I’m a very understanding person, but even after all of my attempts to warm up (i.e., drinking hot water, moving around, etc.) I was miserable and on the brink of tears. I understand staff must follow company policy but I found this to be horribly inhumane. After reaching out to corporate my issue was never resolved."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed due to traffic control in Seattle. We were thus going to miss our connecting flight in Seattle. The gate agent would not find us a new flight, sent us to another gate where that agent split up our party of four into two different flights hours apart because there " were no other seats." Talking with other passengers later in Seattle, found out they got early flight to our same destination when they landed in Seattle! So we finally got home 6 hrs later that expected. We could have drove"
Pros: "Left on time, smooth ride, arrived early"
Cons: "Was in first class front row. I was offered only one drink the entire 6.5 hour flight. The flight attendant in first class never came around and asked if i would like anything else. The potatoes served with the meal were not cooked completely and they let the entire coach section use the forward bathroom so it was like sitting at the very back. Had to wait several times for several others before i could use the first class lavatory. They didn't turn off the cabin lights until very late in the flight so we could sleep. The flight attendant(s) in first class were not friendly. Wifi was horrible and almost not useable. Definitely not worth the $29 I had to pay. I fly this trip regularly and are almost always delighted but this trip was disappointing to say the least."
Cons: "The crew seemed like it was their last leg of he day and were very snappy with many of the passengers. I can understand them being perturbed but it was a little excessive since we were all upset at the hour delay on the ground."
Pros: "Overall, good flight."
Cons: "I pay for first class because I want a higher level of peace and quiet and a lower level of distractions. On two instances, first during the mid flight cockpit bathroom break, and second during the 30 min final descent, the crew engaged in conversations between themselves in such load and animated voices that it was impossible for passengers sitting in the first four - five rows to ignore them. During the cockpit break, the young handsome pilot flirted with the young beautiful flight attendant who had positioned herself to block access to the forward bathroom. They chatted for what seemed like 10 min, her standing and facing us, him standing directly behind her, also facing us. We felt like we were on a soap opera set. And during the final 30 descent into Seatte, when we from Florida were extremely tired, the two forward flight attendants talked with each other in such load voices that it was impossible to keep reading my book. Admittedly, they were just chatting, but doing so in such a load voice that we could not escape."
Pros: "Flight was on time-ish, no trouble really. Call center folks were great."
Cons: "Our original flight was cancelled with no explanation. My girlfriend was notified of this and I was not. When I called to get my flight details I was informed that I was to fly out on a completely different day instead. After explaining that there was no chance of that happening, the call center rep was happy to help. The flight was now an American Airlines flight booked through Alaska. About 3 days before our flight we both received calls from American saying that they did not have our passenger information. Apparently Alaska just didn't transfer that over. We also now had two confirmation codes as the returning and connecting flights were still with Alaska. Once we got to the airport on the day of I was able to print my American Airlines boarding pass, however I could not print my Alaska boarding pass on neither American nor Alaska's kiosks. It was a redeye flight as well so there was no staff at the check in counters yet. We ultimately did get to our destination, but it was such a completely unnecessary headache to get there."
Pros: "This was a completely booked flight during Xmas week, and the flight was delayed an hour. Alaska Air did a great job of accommodating these difficulties. When I checked in online they had a notice asking if we would volunteer to check bags for free because they knew overhead space would be tight. Once the flight was underway they announced they'd been able to reroute to save us some of that time. And the Alaska Air/Horizon connecting flight was also delayed, most likely to accommodate this large flight. The aircraft is wonderful--the plugs for devices at every seat plus free entertainment piped to our devices really helps to pass the time."
Cons: "Person announcing the boarding needs some enunciation lessons. She spoke too quickly and on top of (or below) other announcements and even kept talking when she was doing something beneath the podium, so no chance to read lips."
Pros: "N/A. Because of bad weather on Vancouver Island, my flight to Vancouver was delayed two hours and I missed my 230p flight to Seattle. Alaska had no other flights available from Vancouver that would get me to San Diego and other later flights that day from other airlines were over booked. I stayed the night and flew out the next morning on a direct flight to San Diego. The flight was fine. The flight crew was nice, they offered us drinks and snacks and the air condition worked. The reason I included the AC is sometimes it doesn't work and that's miserable. There's not too much else to add."
Pros: "Crew was polite and accommodating."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed due to the pilot not being able to get there in time, announcement made after boarding that the airlines did not get the pilot there on time. Close connecting flight proved to close as the airlines called ahead to hold 3 separate flights into Montana, however our connecting flight left 8 minutes early! Courteously rebooked by the airlines for the following day was unacceptable. We were able to make a connecting flight to a different town and had to rent a car to drive 2 hrs to our original destination. First time flying with Alaska Airlines was not a great experience."
Cons: "our flight was cancelled the night before rebooked on a later flight which would cause us to miss our ferry and other connections they did rebook when I called, adding another connection, but only my husband was rebooked , not me so, I had to get a seat at the counter in Seattle to finish the trip everyone was very poliet"
Cons: "Flights cancelled or delayed warm water nasty warm old orange juice. Both flights leaving Denver to Seattle and Seattle to Eugene Oregon were delayed rerouted my flight return flight was cancelled and I was put on a flight that would not get me back to Denver in time for my flight back to Boston had to call and rearrange that that made me have to fly out of Portland instead of Eugene very inconvenient then that morning's flights both delayed sitting for half an hour on the runway and then 45 minutes on the runway will not fly Alaska again"
Cons: "The website wouldn't complete online check in so I arrived early (0415 for a 0600 flight). The kiosks were mobbed and several were not functioning. Only one poor staff member was there to assist literally hundreds of irate passengers. The line for check in at the desk with live assistants was also several hundred people long. I finally got my boarding pass and bag tags at 0517. Then the bag drop off was broken. One poor staff member with an I pad was trying to scan all the checked luggage. I was directed to leave my bags against a wall and hope that they would make my final destination. Obviously people were anticipating not having luggage at their destinations and were opening bags to remove a few items of clothing. I finally got to the tsa check point at 0533 and begged my way to the head of the line (thank god for global entry and tsa precheck! And a thank you to all the people at lax that let me jump the queue) The flight itself was lovely. I slept until landing. Alaska airlines, please hire more staff."
Pros: "The flight was on time and very comfortable. Nice leg room. I could plug in my phone to charge which I thought was great. They even had tablets that you could rent and watch a movie. Checking in was uneventful - very smooth."
Cons: "The only problem was that we had one piece of luggage that didn't make to Syracuse with us. It was taken off the plane in Seattle and not put on our next flight. We are waiting for it's arrival. Hopefully soon."
Pros: "Outlets on the seatback in front of me to charge things. Free WiFi from TMobile. Flight attendants and crew all VERY EXCELLENT. TSA was actually friendly in Las Vegas (I realize this is not Alaska's control). Skills of the pilots was exceptional (very windy leaving LV and the flight was great). We left very late due to a problem with the flaps warning light (??). Would rather have left late after thoroughly checking it out than take a chance - good for you, Alaska! Pilot took advantage of a tailwind and we got to SeaTac in 1 hr 50 min (I think this is pretty spectacular). Enough room in overhead bins. Great job. Pilots and stews all smiled at me and said thanks and said goodbye when I left the plane (this is more important than you would think - first and last impressions are lasting). Boeing 737s rock. The little extensions on the wings rock too."
Cons: "Typical airline stuff. Small seats. Bad elbow room in middle seat. I'm an "Emperor's new clothes" kind of guy. I won't ignore these things and pretend it's all okay, just because we all do. You probably can't do anything, cost-wise, about this. Fair enough. But my main complaint is that I had a ticket for a much later flight (leaving 6:30). I knew I was done with my business the previous day and tried to change my flight online and by phone the previous day. Changing flights by either of these channels would have cost me a minimum of an extra $238. Not worth it to me since the round trip was only $180, so I stayed. But going to the airport early and getting past TSA and going to the actual gate allowed an Alaska rep to change my flight there at the airport for $25 (This was actually a tip from my wife). In the year 2017, with the internet and cell phones, this situation is ridiculous! Why should I have not been able to do this from my hotel the day before and leave even earlier? As a company, you recognize the good will that having your crew and stews smile at people and say goodbye builds with your customers. Why would you allow this situation to continue? When traveling by air, convenience is everything. Get the information systems in place that allow you to accommodate this kind of change from either the website or the phone. If you need help with it, call me. I teach IT at the UW in Tacoma and I can put some of my seniors on the problem (whatever it is) and come up with a solution. Unless it's not a software issue and you just want to gouge people who know in advance that they want to change flights. --chuck (253) 777-5387"
Pros: "While flying to Portland from Maui, our next flight was cancelled. No one notified us of this while on the plane or as we exited the plane. My mom found out while I was in the bathroom. She talked to the person at the gate we had just arrived at. She told us we were rerouted to a better flight and told us to go to a specific gate. When we arrived at the gate, Rainy (your employee) explained the situation again calmly, printed our boarding passes, told us we had an hour to catch a bite and worked on seating us together on the plane (I am traveling with a child). When we came back to the gate to board, she had taken care of our seating issue and was very nice. If you are going to cancel a flight on a customer, this is exactly how it should be handled. Better flight, better time, calm and helpful staff. This was the most enjoyable flight of our trip. Nice size plane and great staff. Just maybe need to notify the on board stewardess, she doesn't need to project or yell to be heard for the courtesy of those who have been traveling all night."
Cons: "Knowing that we got very little rest on the overnight flight, I was looking forward to a good nap on this flight. I was getting it until the airline assistant decided to have a very loud, very long conversation with a passenger. I could barely hear the passenger, but the employee was speaking as if on stage at an ampitheater! I know where she use to work, how she became a stewardess, how many cities she has worked from, how many days she has off, and again how many cities she has been to, AT VERY LOUD LEVELS!"
"The plane was hot. my seatbelt was too small; of the 4 planes we were on on this trip, this was the only belt I had a problem with. The in-flight entertainment screen was not responsive so it was stuck on one movie the entire flight. This experience was very much unlike any other Delta experience."
"Great service during the pandemic."
"Pilots found a smooth flight path! Wowza!!"
Pros: "Crew was amazing. Very attentive and welcoming."
Cons: "No baggage space in overheads. Despite being in an early boarding group"
Pros: "We flew from Anchorage to Boston via Seattle. If there had not been a delay in Anchorage, the flight would have been excellent. However, there was a mechanical problem earlier in the day with a plane to Cincinnati. Our flight was scheduled to leave Anchorage at 4pm, but Delta decided to take our pane from us and use it as a substitute for the original but nonfunctional Cincinatti plane. A ridiculous decision. The Cincinnati people already had missed all their connections, but now all the Seattle people missed theirs as well. When we finally got to Seattle 3 hours late (just before midnight), the desk agent said that Delta had no hotel rooms for us and also no hotel vouchers. We thus had to find a room and pay for it on our own. The next day, we had been rescheduled to Detroit and then on another flight from there to Boston. The flight to Detroit arrived nearly 30 minutes late, and we just barely made our connection. Had we missed it, we would have had to spend that night in Detroit. Delta did its best to keep the two of us together. On the Seattle-Detroit flight we were on opposite sides of the aisle in the same row, but that was in a row right behind a bulkhead, making it easy for us to walk over to each other. On the Detroit-Boston flight we were next to each other. Both flights were completely full, so Delta must have made some effort to keep us together as well as possible."
Cons: "Delta should not have made the dumb decision to take the Seattle-bound plane and use it as a substitute for the malfunctioning Cincinnati plane. Delta should have provided accommodations for the stranded travelers once they arrived in Seattle."
Cons: "Had unknown jump grade to much better seats No explanation given Too bad it wasn’t on a 6 hour flight"
Pros: "The crew members were nice and didn't bother while sleep when giving out snacks & drinks (I've had this done to me before, annoying). Plane was comfortable because it wasn't packed, so was able to have a seat empty in-between me. The entertainment offered was really good, the connecting to the Go-inflight WiFi was a bit difficult, but no biggie."
Cons: "THE DELTA TERMINAL AT HARTSFIELD AIRPORT, ATLANTA, IS DIS-ORGANIZED!!!! THERE WAS NO ONE GIVING PROPER INSTRUCTIONS FOR DROPPING BAGS OFF, PEOPLE WERE EVERYWHERE IN EVERY KIND OF MADE LINE!!! ALMOST 30 - 40 MINUTES OF WASTED TIME, THIS AND THE SLOWEST TSA PROCESS CAUSED MANY TO PROBABLY MISS THEIR FLIGHTS, INCLUDING ME (THANKFULLY MY FLIGHT WOUND UP BEING 3HS DELAYED - THAT'S NEXT). DELTA SHOULD INFORM TRAVELERS ABOUT TIMES WITH THEIR BAG DROP AND TSA!!! 3HRS TO GET A SMALL PART THAT ONLY TAKES 2 MINUTES TO FIX, I'M VERY GRATEFUL IT WAS FOUND WHILE ON THE GROUND, BUT AFTER 1 AND HALS HOURS COULDN'T WE HAVE JUST CHANGED PLANES!?!?! I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME AFTER 10A, WASN'T UNTIL ALMOST 2P.."
Pros: "everything was just as comforting as it was pre-pandemic"
Pros: "Being upgraded was a GREAT surprise !"
Cons: "I waited for over 40 minutes for someone to answer my call button. And then they just turned it off without asking me or anyone in my row if we needed something."
Pros: "Quick flight with basic service."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "Nothing really"
Pros: "Pilots and crew were amazing"
Cons: "It was perfect"
Pros: "We've always enjoyed flying Delta and this trip had been just as nice as the previous ones we have taken through this airline."
Cons: "Our stewardess/stewards seem to be incredibly cranky on this trip and very unapproachable. They must have been having an "off" day I guess."
Pros: "Cleanliness. Safety. Friendly."
Pros: "Crew was solid."
Cons: "Don’t change my seat. Not on time. No food. Luggage with legally checked firearm sent to the wrong airport."
Pros: "Crew was great, comfort+ definitely has more leg room."
Cons: "Beer not guaranteed on flight for Delta comfort plus."
Cons: "The flight was delayed by 3 hours because of storms in Atlanta earlier. This caused us to miss our connection to Fairbanks in Seattle, so we had to spend the night in Seattle at our own cost."
Cons: "Crew was abrasive and put off by people asking for service. Monitors had to be rebooted 3 times. Ran out of water and snacks."
Cons: "Space on airplanes"
Cons: "The cabin temperature was very hot"
Cons: "Luggage drop was severely understaffed. We had checked in, had boarding passes but there was a 45 minute wait just to drop off a checked bag."
Cons: "Miniature candy bars are not sufficient for an hour and a half flight."
Pros: "Smooth, efficient and timely."
Cons: "Seats weren’t assigned until at the gate even though checked in 18 hours before. Bag drop was horrible. No self service. Was inline for about 45 minutes."
Cons: "Food is always bad."
Cons: "My monitor isn’t really working after rebooted. And the audio hole wasn’t tight enough"
Cons: "It made no sense to board an hour and a half before takeoff."
Pros: "the food was really top notch and service was great and friendly"
Pros: "Easy and on time and Delta Comfort is always the best. Easy boarding process too!"
Pros: "Quick boarding process"
Cons: "Wifi stopped working halfway"
Pros: "The flight left on time and arrived on time, crew was pleasant and helpful."
Cons: "I am over 6 foot so comfort for me isn’t possible. It was an older aircraft so the seat monitor was of the older version but it did work and helped to pass the time while I was in my no leg room seat! I am NOT over weight! With turbulence there was only one opportunity for inflight beverage service."
Pros: "Boarded and left JFK on time and arrived 15 minutes early to Seattle. Love DELTA."
Pros: "The nice staff and entertainment options."
Cons: "I usually fly delta and have a great experience - unfortunately my flight from Detroit to Seattle was not. To start off, i was flying with two other people and we were not able to get seats together, and the whole seating process with delta is really difficult even when I had called weeks in advance to see if they could try and seat us together. I understand with main cabin tickets you can only choose your seat as you check in, but it would be nice to be able to request seating with a person/group you are flying with. I was placed in the very back row of a busy flight, and noticed that the horrible smell from the bathrooms which made it unpleasant. As said above, I normally have a pleasant experience.. but being a delta sky member I feel as though i do not really receive any differences as to a non-member. I hope this review helps for the next customers! Thank you."
Pros: "Excellent crew"
Cons: "I ordered food for my son and they had no record so he had some snacks only during a 10 hour flight. The cabin temperature was freezing, everyone was shivering but despite requests it stayed cold."
Pros: "On the first leg I liked the entertainment options. There were plenty of current content to watch and the screen was good enough. I still resorted to my iPad after a while but it was more because I wanted to watch something specifically rather than I had to. The food was decent but as usual the good stuff runs out before you get your turn. Order special food next time."
Cons: "I don’t like any airlines boarding process in general. They always seem inefficient and slow. I didn’t like the free headphones they passed out. They’re so awful that they really ruin whatever you’re trying to watch."
Pros: "I like Delta but this crew had such a shi**y attitude it was contagious. Yikes!"
Cons: "The gate staff and the flight staff. Rude"
Pros: "I've been beaten down to expect a bus ride on flights. However, Delta surprised me. The crew members we're kind, and did the best they could to keep us comfortable."
Pros: "The snacks were decent on the flight. Everything else was a disappointment."
Cons: "Unexpected delay for take off after being told the flight was going to be on time. They couldn’t give us a reason or an eta on take off while waiting at the gate which affected my ride situation once I landed in Seattle."
Pros: "Delta has great seats, friendly employees and engaged managers and pilots. Even their customer service Center reaches out to help on suggestions. I am flying to Portland for School over 40 round trips and I am saving $4,000 vs Alaska Air. Plus I get miles and discounts with the Delta Amex Card. I am very pleased."
Cons: "I don’t like harsh change in schedule fees but it forces me to plan. I wish the Seattle to Portland Eve flight landed in time to catch Portland Rail system at 11:50 PM"
Pros: "Gate personal kept us notified about flight delay. Flight crew was very positive on plane and they were as miserable about the delay as we were. Snacks and drinks were brought out. The gate crew keeping us updated is what saved the name of Delta. If she didnt do that people would have been angry."
Cons: "Flight was supposed to depart at 0730. Actual departure was 1045. Three out of seven of the flight crew were not happy about how badly they were being treated by call center and /or management while they were delayed with us at gate. Snacks were brought out because of delay but they were just junk food. Nothing I could eat due to allergies."
Pros: "The seats"
Cons: "We purchased tickets together and our seats were not together when we checked in. We had one small roller bag for the two of us and we ended up having to gate check it along with 3 other people and then there was clearly enough room for it once we were boarded."
Pros: "Kara was really nice to us."
Cons: "Noisy plane."
Cons: "Left about 2.5 hours late because of a broken seat of all things. Apparently Delta doesn't bother to have maintenance staff on site at the airport."
Pros: "I LOVED the 2 seater plane, so comfortable traveling with a companion and not having the third person."
Cons: "Boarding. It seems that it would be smarter to board from the back forward. I didn't have any food so I rated that wrong. Maybe add an N/A to the survey."
Pros: "The flight was quick and quiet with a kind crew and captain that had a great smile."
Cons: "I didn't like the food."
Pros: "Very on-time and fast, respectful crew."
Cons: "The airplane was old and with no entertainment."
Pros: "Comfortable seats."
Cons: "Flew business class and my 1st choice on the menu had run out. I ended up not eating."
"Boarded late. Missed first landing attempt, landed almost an hour late and missed connecting flight."
Cons: "Two loud drunks talked loudly about inappropriate topics the entire flight while not wearing masks. Several people were not wearing masks and the crew never even tried to quiet them down or to tell anyone about the mask. I wondered if the crew agreed with what they were saying that’s why they allowed it. I say that because the one time a steward came to speak to them, it was in the most endearing way. The drunks were commenting that they were told there’d be alcohol and the steward said something like “It’ll be back soon. It’s just that things have been difficult. Have you been watching the news?” in the sweetest way. It felt like a wink."
Pros: "The prices were low and the crew was great. A lot of entertainment options, also!"
Cons: "Boarding was rather disorganized"
Cons: "It was a six hour flight. It would have been great if they Offered a second drink."
Cons: "Plane was too hot!! Ac nor working !"
Cons: "I missed boarding by one minute and was told there was nothing they could do. Our connecting flight landed on the other side of the airport and after literally running through DFW, we were told our flight home had already boarded, we arrived at 6:21, flight left at 6:30. American Airlines screwed us again. Just paid $300 for a rental vehicle so I could make it home."
Pros: "They held the flight for us."
Cons: "Something to eat"
Pros: "The touch screens had a good selection of movies and tv, which was very nice."
Cons: "The crew pretty much ignored us, not friendly at all."
Cons: "No more comments!"
Pros: "Friendly crew, good food and entertainment."
Cons: "Seat comfort and space aboard."
Pros: "My first time flying Alaska Airlines. Absolutely will be back. Comfortable, spacious seating. Staff was professional and friendly. Flight was seamless from beginning to end!"
Cons: "Excellent flight, no issues"
Cons: "The flight comfort was very bad. The plane was extremely warm and people we beginning to feel bad. Several mentioned it and asked multiple times to have the the cabin air conditioning turned down"
Pros: "Great Crew"
Cons: "More drinks"
Cons: "Wider seating"
Cons: "Delayed taking off by 35 mins because of onload slowness and issues. Resulted in landing late in seattle and missed the last transportation option home for the night. Should have had 1.5 hours to make my shuttle. Instead got stuck in my destination airport for the night."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 3 hours"
Cons: "Delayed for an hour"
Cons: "One crew member is not particularly helpful when passengers needed assistance."
Pros: "The flight was not even 1/3 full, which made everything easy. Was able to find a spot for my bad above my seat. The seats next to me were to empty, so that added benefit through out the flight. The in flight entertainment on the app is a not annoying if you don't download it first but there's a work around if you know it."
Cons: "Minimal food selection."
Pros: "Nothing, this was a miserable flight."
Cons: "Gate at Philadelphia was tiny with not enough space for everyone on the plane, it was a 6 hour flight and no snacks beyond pretzels were available-not even for purchase. I'd just come off an 8 hour international flight where I was provided lunch, ice cream, a pot pie snack and frequent beverage service. Somehow as soon as you are flying domestic on a slightly shorter flight American Airlines thinks its okay to treat customers like garbage-nothing but some sad pretzels and 2 rounds of drink service was provided for a 6 hour flight. The seats were super uncomfortable with no head rest, no personal entertainment devices were provided, and there was no general entertainment for the whole plane-seriously I've never been so bored. I would have fallen asleep from boredom but the seat was too uncomfortable so I couldn't even do that. The plane landed in Seattle but sat without unloading passengers for 20 minutes because the gate crew wasn't ready. We didn't get our checked baggage for over an hour after landing. When asked, customer service reps said that the S gate was far from baggage claim-seriously I'm not sure how that is a reasonable excuse. Other airlines arrive into S gates and have timely baggage claim service. American Airlines has no standard for timely baggage claim service like other airlines (Alaska) so there were no repercussions for such late baggage service. We left the airport with our luggage over 90 minutes after the plane landed. The entire experience is just another example of American Airlines of why the terrorists won't even fly American Airlines. I was seriously disappointed to find out that the British Airways flights we booked were operated by American instead of BA crews. I seriously will never select this option (or fly American) again if I can help it."
Cons: "The seat in front of me reclined so far that the guy in that seat had his head less than a foot from my face and my knees were being smashed by his seat. Very painful."
Pros: "Seats in general Economy ended up being fairly comfortable and headrests would bend enough to actually support my head while sleeping. Nice to have granual baggage tracking info in the AA app."
Cons: "Overhead entertainment video quality was horrible. Awful user interface for trying to figure out and use the personal device streaming entertainment. Did not order food on the flight, but options were very limited for a 5.5 hour night-time flight (8p EST -> 11p PST)"
Cons: "Crew told us bulshit story about strong winds, even though flight times were normal. Diverted the flight to DFW, where we stayed for almost 2 hours fo refueling."
Pros: "There’s nothing better than a non-stop."
Cons: "Oy, they offered an $800 credit if I let them bump me. But they had no way to get me to my destination! I guess instead of asking for volunteers, they should have asked for people who really didn’t want to go. Then the flight attendant announced, “we’re really low on food”. Really? This is a SEVEN hour flight!"
Cons: "The bathroom supplies were not replenished. In fact, the facial tissue was empty at beginning of flight. When the toilet paper ran out, I finally informed the attendant and they fixed everything. It seems that checking on that stuff was not part of their routine."
Cons: "Left s half hour late because they had to shift cargo, then we taxied on the runway for what seemed like a half hour. My wife and I purchased our tickets in July but could never pick our seats and ended up 9 rows apart."
Pros: "Flight was great. Crew was very attentive and the flight was under booked giving my wife and I an empty middle seat. The entertainment was vast consisting of movies and TV shows to pass the time."
Cons: "No entertainment and no gate printed on my ticket. My flight to Dallas was delayed and I had to waste time figuring out what gate to take a train to."
Pros: "Left on time, relatively comfortable considering I had already spent almost 9 hours on a previous flight, landed 30 minutes early"
Cons: "Mixed feelings about the entertainment app, I was pleased that something was available at all, however had the person sitting next to me not mentioned I needed an app to watch the in flight entertainment moments before it would have been too late to use the internet to download it, I would not have been able to use it, unless paying for a limited time package from AA to use the internet to download the app. A better job of advertising of the gogo app is needed more than the booklet in the seat pocket. Also I was only able to watch one movie, after that the system kicked me out saying high usage was making it not work for me. The gate changed a couple of times which had me trawling up and down the H and K concourses, could have done without that after the 9 hour journey I had already taken."
Cons: "no charging station"
Pros: "Comfortable, very friendly helpful staff"
Cons: "Nothing, well I miss the movies shown on their divides rather than my tablet"
Cons: "We had too little time to switch flights. We were stressed and had to run a lot in order to make it to required connecting flight"
Cons: "For a customer-based service, I found it disturbing that one of the flight attendants was abrasive to passengers on this flight."
Pros: "Nothing. Someday the airline industry will be disrupted and we'll all remember this and say, "can you believe what we used to put up with, and how expensive it was?!""
Cons: "No decent food available, they ran out. People allowed to play movies loudly with no headphones for 5 hours straight. Uncomfortable seats with no cushioning."
Cons: "Dry / borderline rude staff and hostess. Dated plane. Tiny seats. But that is pretty much the baseline of airlines in the US. When will carriers start to take note from International carriers..leaps and bounds ahead."
Pros: "It was not a full flight, so I was given an aisle instead of a middle seat...for which I was grateful."
Cons: "Flight was 6 hours...almost as much as my previous international flight, yet food and drink was only available for purchase. No entertainment options. Plus, wireless was $21! I needed to work and had to purchase, but that is really quite a rip off compared to other airlines."
Pros: "This flight was amazing! The crew was friendly and helped me when I had a panic attack from flying. It was very appreciated"
Pros: "Long walk and less than an hour. Very difficult for senior. No assistan e available."
Cons: "The pain from carrying bag between gates"
Pros: "Other than a 2 hour delay due to a mechanical issue (identified after everyone boarded) the flight was ok. No electical connections for equipment. That would be an improvement. Also, out of a lot of meals that people request, and that was at the beginning of service in the premium seats."
Cons: "I asked the woman at the gate prior to boarding if there were electrical outlets on the plane. She looked it up and said, its an Airbus, yes they have outlets at each seat. I didn't worry too much about charging my devices at my layover because I knew I could charge them on the plane. When I got on it was clear that there was no outlets, no video on the backs of seats, no devices being handed out for purchase. Nothing. I'm definitely used to more updated planes, but I would have been ok without the misinformation. I ended up on a 4 hr flight bored out of my gourd—which could have been avoided."
Cons: "Despite arriving more than an hour ahead of time, I had to wait in a long line to get to the ticket counter and by the time I got there the assistant refused to check my bag. I then had the choice of catching another flight standby, possibly not even arriving on the same day, or changing my ticket for an obscene amount of money. I hope to never deal with AA again."
Pros: "The service was okay, they were polite."
Cons: "The plane took forever to load, the plane departed late, although the captain still claimed we would make it 10 minutes early we did not. And to top it off, we waited on the tarmac to find a gate because we were late. Thanks American, I appreciate the reminder as to why I never fly your airline."
Cons: "As it was the continuation of an international flight, I believe I travelers like me deserved to be treated with free food and not just drink and water."
Pros: "Chairs were very comfy and wider than some airlines."
Cons: "Crew not overly friendly and not very attentive, and there were lots of empty seats so there wasn't much excuse. Also, I had an issue with the plane. I think no screens on a cross-country flight is not good business. Not everyone is savvy with go-go inflight. And if there are no screens, could there at least be outlets? I was so tired after my Paris flight and wanted to chill with some go-go entertainment, but my battery was low and there were no outlets. I know not all flights can have these luxuries, but if the flight is over five hours, I think it should be better equipped."
Pros: "I was upgraded to the comfort economy after waiting 10 hours at DFW for my flight."
Cons: "After being in DFW airport for 10hrs all I wanted to do was watch a movie on board and sleep. Go figure, my TV didn't work. I called the attendant and she said she would reset them. The "resetting process" took a while. She attempted, and the other stewardess did as well. They said that the TV issue that *some* of the people were experiencing wasn't able to be fixed by them and only by the company that provides it's service. So there wasn't anything that could be done. I know that at least the two guys that were traveling next to me had issues with the tv monitors as well. It was just driving it home that I will never fly on American Airlines again. I don't ask for much these days while flying, it's not like it's a luxury anymore. But the saddest part is that customer satisfaction is completely out of the question. Just pay the extra money and fly another airline. -Deidre Fugate"
Pros: "I did not like have to stay in a hotel room when I could be sleeping in my room I'm on medication I don't even have my medicine with me because American Airlines had engine trouble in Dallas we went back to the Terminal 3 times before they ever got it fixed slit throat me late getting into Seattle and I missed the flight to Yakima I don't feel that this was my fault I didn't nothing to delay the airplanes and I walked as fast as I could to the terminal on in Seattle so I didn't have such a pleasure to little trip but your airline get put me up in a hotel but it's still not does not change the fact I have my blood pressure medicine and about 10 other medications but my blood pressure is the biggest and I will think twice before I fly Alaska Airlines again"
Pros: "I had my first experience in the Admiral's Lounge at O'Hare and enjoyed it very much."
Cons: "My traveling companion's tray table was disgusting when she folded it down for beverage service. She asked for a wet towel and the flight attendant was snarky but went to get one without even looking or asking to see what the problem was. Her entertainment console wasn't working so they reset it but instead it reset mine (two seats over) they did this again and I let them know it was resetting mine. I was told that I was not in the seat they were resetting for ...I inquired if perhaps they should try to reset mine and see if it would, in fact, fix hers..it did. When she slipped off her shoes the carpet was soaking wet. This was a really crummy, crummy flight."
Cons: "See above comments"
"United is my favorite. They are so much better with service and staff and landings. I've been flying with them for over 40 years. The seats are the only thing that could be better by being a little bigger. Otherwise, fantastic flight."
Pros: "Everything was great"
Cons: "USB outlets at seats, footrests in first class"
Cons: "United, along with American, is a horrible carrier, and the next time it files for bankruptcy, needed to be allowed to remain our of business. The employees don't care about service at all, it's no longer part of their culture."
Cons: "Friendlier service."
Pros: "On time flight"
Cons: "Gate agent at SF was rude and unprofessional. While waiting, gate agent at gate 65, flight 647 started the following, “group 1 boarding, group 2 boarding...everybody, let’s go let’s go”. She went on to call out one, Hispanic customer with limited English, “come here, you can board now”, rude rude."
Cons: "The plane was just too darn hot and the fans were barely working. All of us were melting."
Pros: "The crew was amazing and also the space of my seat"
Cons: "Wish they have a portable TV in my seat"
Pros: "Better staff"
Cons: "Still terrible"
Cons: "Seating was brutal. Need to do a better job about being upfront about what you book when you get basic economy. Brutal seating and gouged for baggage"
Cons: "If the power outlet works reliably, it would be much better. The toilet was really small."
Pros: "Brand new plane"
Cons: "Didn't get much refreshment"
Pros: "Nothing, horrible experience."
Cons: "RST to ORD to SEA took 16 hours because of non airworthy United planes at RST. First one cancelled, second fixed after several hours but SEA connection missed at ORD. Fortunately AA had a ORD-SEA flight available or I'd still be in Chicago"
Pros: "Again we had more leg room than on most flights. Attendants were nice. They held this flight for us because our previous flight was delayed, we ran in and they closed the door. Thank you United! We only had one day visiting our son and his wife near Seattle, if we had missed that flight, I don't know when we would have gotten in. We would have lost our day."
Cons: "The flight staff was rude, the wrong gas was put in the plane causing a delay, I missed my connection because of this where they wrote it was delayed because "it was snowing in Savannah" which was a blatant lie, but made it so they did not have to help me in any way since their delay was "weather" related. They could not get my to my destination until noon the next day which forced me to buy a new flight on Alaska air. My flight on Alaska was absolutely fantastic and I regret ever buying any United flight and will not in the future."
Pros: "Courteous crew. Smooth landing. My only compliant is that we have to purchase in-flight wi-fi. I find this unacceptable, especially because the airlines charges upwards of $80 for an Economy Plus seat and then one needs to $26.99 for wi-fi for the duration of the flight."
Pros: "It was a short flight"
Cons: "I didn’t like not having to choose our seat assignments after we booked our flight. I have used Kayak on many occasions and I was able to choose my seat after booking. I was not able to do that after I booked my flight."
Cons: "I was not able to sit with my husband and the man next to me drank a a bunch of red wine and the attendant brought him whiskey after that until he passed out with his baby over my lap."
Cons: "This flight was also late, and this was after having to spend the night in the airport"
Cons: "The Capt. Lying to Us and after 40 minutes sitting on the rap being held. The Captain came on and said the delay was Dorothea baggage boys loading the plane aft heavy and incorrectly loaded they had to totally remove every bag and reload the entire baggage and move most of the bags to a forward compartment . Many passengers wanted off but they crew refused Another reason not to fly United I am cancelling my return flight an returning on another airline! United is e worse airline in business today. Do not book on United Everett Johnson Bellevue, Washington"
Pros: "I liked how there were some (very few) staff that were friendly and helpful. They somewhat eased the nightmare a bit"
Cons: "There were so many delays that could've easily been avoided. To make matters worse there were two United attendants at the gate hastling every passenger preboarding. The two women were so rude and confrontational. Then I board the plane that I had to be rebooked on because of the delays I missed my connection .. and didn't even get the seat I chose. A woman sat in my seat and refused to move, leaving me with a middle seat next to a lady who was so mean. She kept making rude comments to me throughout my 5 hour flight, and proceeded to get intoxicated. I didn't get home till almost midnight..when I should've been home by 9."
Pros: "Having a flight. United Airlines employee at the help desk was very helpful and found the quickest available flight."
Cons: "Got my ticket. Had to run through the airport because the layover time was too short (as it has been on MANY of my flights with United). Attendant that took my ticket was actually rude to me about having a ticket on the plane. Boarding was disorganized."
Cons: "I was very I'll and could not complete this flight. Was told by airline to call Kayak for changing date of flight for $50 vs $200 they would charge. Ticket was less than $200. I called Kayak. They said sorry it will cost you $200 per airline policy. Either way, this is unacceptable to me. I will stick with Southwest who let's you change flights on all fares if you use it within one year. So since change fee was more than ticket I just ate the cost. Not happy with UNITED or KAYAK. Won't use either one again."
Pros: "Crew was new but okay."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by an hour or so. Then had a last minute gate change across the airport from my original gate."
Cons: "Roundtrip flight to Seattle with a layover, first flight went without incident, so far so good. On the flight back (during a layover) literaly 5 minutes till boarding the plane, the pilot is ready to go, the people are standing in line, United decides it wont make enough $ on the flight and gives it to an Ontario flight. We are canceled and now have to wait 4 additional hours in the airport. Was told it was air traffic control that messed up, not United, which was not even possible and an obvious untruth. Was offered a complimentary bottle of water for the trouble. Classic united."
Cons: "This flight was cancelled and it became one of the most chaotic ordeals to get from Newark to Seattle."
Pros: "No charging docks on plane as military duffle bag open with clothing hanging out on arrival ~ not sure if anything stolen but the threat is very real and it's unacceptable for military bags to be delivered in that manner"
Pros: "We were delayed due to some maintenance issues, but the crew did a great job of keeping us updated on what was happening. Other than that, a normal flight."
Cons: "I'd have to say poor since I'm still stuck in Denver."
Cons: "One of the crew members at the gate! I believe her name was Jackie or jaciquiene at SF was the most inconsecrate women I have ever met! She was yelling at me to put my bag in the bag to see if it will fit. She was completely rude and acted like she hated her job! I will NEVER fly with UNITED again! I will be contacting United regarding this issue as well! The other lady at the gate called her led and after that she contacted her supervisor and they also didn't let me on the flight! This was the worst experience I have EVER had! I will NEVER FLY WITH UNITED AGAIN."
Pros: "I thought the newer model 737 with the ambient lighting and redesigned overhead compartments gives the plane a less claustrophobic feel. The pilots did a great job navigating through potential turbulence and the flight crew was attentive and on point. A better experience than the crew on the flight from Seattle to Houston four days before. It is my understanding that Continental crews remained intact upon the merge and my assumption was this was a Continental crew versus the United crew that was not as good."
Cons: "The boarding process with the arbitrary assignment of boarding group 5 giving us no chance to bring our one bag on the plane. There is no real enforcement of the carton policies of these airlines which makes it frustrating for those who follow the rule only to be punished and forced to check the bag and go through baggage claim."
Pros: "Our names are Steve and Jan Hovde if you have any other questions about our flight concerns. We can be reached by phone at 360-332-8414. We did not call FAA, but still very much a concern. We have flown United other times and many other airlines and many Boeing 737's...we noticed other passengers looking at each other because of the clunking and growling sounds."
Cons: "most important I vowed I would try and call FAA about safety concerns with the plane. Mechanical noises prior to take off , during flight(right fan whine) - could hear it when started engines in SF., Some loud clunking at take off bringing in landing wheels and again letting down for landing in Seattle. When plane came to stop at the gate, again some noises we have never heard before on 737's. Please check out that plane more closely. Part of our concern is that Pilot mentioned before take off that they had problems with scheduled 737 and they needed extra time to locate another 737 that could be used(Why our take off was rescheduled twice and different gate)......it seemed that one that had been mothballed may have been brought out to use......We did mention some of this tactfully to stewardess' standing near exit when we got off the plane(She seemed surprised and wondered what we were talking about. We were so thankful we made it. We just figured that flight crew would be tracking these odd noises and pass along to captain if he couldn't hear."
Cons: "The difference in entertainment options between different United flights is frustrating. Unlike some flights, which offer a bunch of free movies and shows you can watch on your phone or tablet, this flight offered a small selection of movies I could pay $8 for access to, which started at pre-determined times so you might pay for them and not even be able to catch the movie from the beginning. My original flight offered an outlet to charge my phone and a fairly large selection of free movies, so I watched 3 movies and the time went by quickly. My return flight did have an outlet, but I didn't want to pay for a bad selection of movies that I couldn't pause or start from the beginning, so it felt like a much longer flight."
Pros: "Mr Anthony Brown, gate crew for United in Chicago remembered that I had asked for an aisle seat and, when one became available, he made sure I got it. I was so grateful for his consideration and professionalism."
Cons: "No entertainment system. Few bathrooms. More cramped."
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "The United app told us we missed our connection so we had to go stand by on this flight. We later discovered that the original flight was delayed an hour and we could have easily made it. We were told that this fight was overbooked. We almost waited on an even later flight. Luckily we stayed at the gate and found that this flight was in fact only half full. United IT sucks. The entertainment system is horrible. With one exception the FAs were bitter and angry."
Cons: "Having to pay for Internet sucks"
Pros: "Crew was gracious, helpful, and courteous during a terrible and disruptive ordeal for passengers"
Cons: "Being stuck for nearly an hour sweating on a plane with no AC while mechanics were trouble shooting, only to find out that we had to exit the plane, and that it could not fly. Passengers had no idea what to do - whether another plane would be sent for us, whether United would reimburse our ticket if we arranged another flight on our own, etc. We were left to fend for ourselves. I had a wedding to get to with many pre-wedding events, starting this evening. So, I looked for another flight, found one, booked it, and went to United customer service to request reimbursement for my ticket. I was told that United had just learned that another plane was coming for us and would arrive in 30 minutes, at 8:10. (My original flight had been at 6:35). The other flight I had booked was at 10:30 pm. So, United customer service changed canceled my new booking and put me back to my original flight, now arriving at 8:10 and boarding at 8:50. The plane did arrive, but we did not board until 10:50 pm. My flight left at 11:02 pm. Bottom line is that my flight was delayed 4.5 hours. I missed an important event that I was supposed to host. I missed my only opportunity to see a dear friend (and guest of honor) - this is someone I have not seen in person for ten years and was the guest of honor at tonight's celebration that I was supposed to host and missed. Furthermire, I could not carry on a bag that I have carried on for years, and that would have easiky fit. Having to check my bag left me without my phone charger. Of course, the fact that we were 4.5 hours delayed meant that I ran out of power shortly into our long flight from Washington. to Seattle. And the food was awful - stale nuts, . ;, b:;"
Pros: "Polite staff"
Cons: "The boarding process was chaotic. Overhead bins were full, but flight attendants were not available to help people struggling to find a place for their baggage. They should've offered to gate check baggage"
Cons: "The delay ruined our evening and made the expense of a hotel for the night and babysitting moot because we might as well have flown the next morning. So much for seeing friends in Seattle on Thursday night. A 2 hour delay means we just get to sleep in an airport hotel for no reason."
Cons: "i did not see anywhere when checking in on line that there was a charge for checked bags or that the self checking had to be done 45 minutes prior to departure."
Cons: "They lost my suitcase."
Pros: "While waiting in the terminal for everyone to board and the plane to be cleared you got your options of watching everything on the Direct TV headrest screens. It was interesting to see what people watched at 1am (4am my time)."
Cons: "Received another handful of snack mix, which was fine. At least I knew not to eat it this time. Once the plan took off, the headrest screens asked you to pay some ridiculous amount of money to watch them for the hour that we were on the plan. I wasn't surprised, but I never found out who killed the lady in my show. Bummer."
Pros: "We got lucky and there were two empty seats across the aisle, which happened to have extra leg room, and the one gentleman sitting there, graciously offered to move to the window seat so my husband could sit in the aisle seat. My husband was quite happy that he was able to move just across the aisle from me and have the extra leg room."
Cons: "My husband's original seat had a broken jack for headphones and the only thing they could offer was to switch seats with someone that wasn't going to use theirs. Luckily, the man sitting across the aisle heard what was going on and offered his seat to my husband and the gentleman just moved to the window seat. Paying an extra $118 for basically nothing; it's not very clear before you buy it, what exactly your paying the extra money for. On our return flight, we flew American, and the same thing would have only cost us an extra $42. We had to wait in a ridiculously long security line in Chicago and by the time we got to our terminal, 90% of the passengers were already on the flight or in line to enter the plane and that's what we found out we had paid the extra $118 for."
Pros: "I enjoy all of the amenities United offers and the staff service overall."
Cons: "I didn't like the difficulty with which I had to use such amenities(wifi) a 6 hour flight overall isn't comfortable."
Pros: "Lining up in groups"
Pros: "Nice big plane and great staff"
Cons: "45 minute delay"
Pros: "The crew was very helpful. United took care of my hotel when mechanical issues caused a missed connection. I really appreciate them taking care of that."
Cons: "Mechanical problems resulted in a 3 hr delay. When I inquired about Overnight accommodations, the flights delay had been incorrectly listed as a weather delay... I worry it might be common practice to incorrectly list the cause of delay to improve their stats. This could also cause a problem for people on the landing side when they need accommodations... luckily, a CSR got to the bottom of the discreptancy for me."
Cons: "paying for baggage no food service"
Pros: "Flight was On time, departure and arrival"
Cons: "Crew gathered at the back of the plane and talked too much and too loud"
Cons: "Free drinks"
Pros: "Not much."
Cons: "First and LAST time flying Spirit. Once I had to pay the fee for having a carry on bag, the price came out closer to one of the airlines I should have used instead. The website address didn't even work from my phone, so I had to pay the $65 gate fee for the carry on. The seats weren't comfortable, didn't recline, no cushioning. No inflight entertainment of any kind. During the flight, I got up and went to the front to use the bathroom (which I KNEW was empty) and the staff directed me to use the ones in back. Why? And they never reduced the cabin pressure on the descent! The cabin was still completely pressurized for the higher altitudes well after we touched down. This feels like such an amateur mistake that simply isn't acceptable."
Pros: "Terrible company"
Cons: "Like a city bus in the sky"
Cons: "They charge $50 for a carry on bag!!!"
Cons: "A free glass of water"
Pros: "Price was unbeatable. Service and flight attendants were awesome. Flight left on time and arrived early, just what you want for an early flight."
Cons: "The superviser at that time was 0 comunicate , no people person aroll she is no good !!"
Pros: "Nothing... the passengers were nice."
Cons: "It was horrible! I won’t let any of my friends use Spirit air. I had to pay 55$ for a carry on. I wasn’t even carrying a purse. I was told after I paid 55$ and they took my bag I could have pre- checked my bag for less! I had to pay for my seat!!! There were no screens, no outlets, no WiFi, and no snacks without a charge. On my return The Spirit website did not indicate gate changes as the gate changes. I prechecked this time, 3 hours early and the plane departed 40 min before departure. The screens at kiosk did not indicate changes to flight time or gate change. I wasn’t even called!!! I missed my flight. The staff gave no help for hotel or shuttle. I was to sleep 12 hours for n Next plane and my bag was on first plane. My original flight of $249 to Vegas was $349. Plus hotel 129 plus $40 for extra night stay and Uber."
Pros: "I liked that we didn’t crash"
Cons: "Everything else, a carry on bag was $55 making any savings a joke. You can’t even get water with out paying for it $3 for a cup of water. No phone app for entertainment nothing. If I wasn’t sitting by people I knew I’d be extra uncomfortable because you’re in each others laps"
Pros: "We made it safely. Flight attendants are friendly."
Cons: "It was frustrating to learn after booking that Spirit nickels and dimes you on everything, and these seats don’t recline! We thought we had found a great deal through kayak, but after paying for carry on bags and having a terribly uncomfortable red eye on the way out, we realized it was not worth it. Kayak should find a way to make those trade offs clear when they show them next to normal airlines."
Cons: "Spirit sucks"
Pros: "That they were upfront with the fact that they charge for everything"
Cons: "NEVER AGAIN! My fight was canceled 6 hours before my departure, due to “air craft congestion” (whatever that means). They were unable to get me on a new flight until two and a half days later. I ended up booking with another (more reliable) airline because it was cheaper than taking 2 days off of work, staying in a hotel, eating out, rearranging child care, paying for extra parking at the airport... SO DISSAPOINTING. It put a huge black spot on my otherwise awesome weekend, among me have to scramble to get everything worked out while trying to get home."
Pros: "The cost"
Cons: "The seats, the flight was late, the staff was pushy loading, and it was a red eye with the lights left on. Not sure I would fly again."
Pros: "low fare?"
Cons: "astronomical baggage fees, tight seats, pouch on the back of the seat in front of me was broken and pushing against my leg."
Cons: "Two hour delay was very unfortunate because the link light rail stops running at midnight so I had to spend quite a bit more money for an Uber home"
Cons: "There was a computer on the plane malfunction that caused over a 3 hour delay and causd me e a lot of problems in Seattle because of it."
Pros: "Direct flight"
Cons: "Lack of customer service and attempt to charge for every little thing possible."
Cons: "Even though the flight was delayed, they did not tell us that at the gate. The gate had changed since we checked in, and we came to know just because we were trying to look for it. Even though the flight has space for the cabin luggage, unlike other airlines, they charge you for it. And it's not like they are very cheaper than the other airlines. The boarding process was ok. The crew was ok. They kept banging things in the back. The seat selection costs 9$ per seat online. So we decided not to select any. That's why we got seats in the back. The seats were so uncomfortable that even for the short flight of 2 hrs, me and my wife got a back ache. Although it looks cheap to fly with spirit, it would cost you so much more if you want to fly comfortably. I would not be travelling with spirit anymore."
Pros: "The plane"
Cons: "The personnel and the way they handle people"
Pros: "The temperature on the plane was perfect"
Cons: "Seats were not comfortable. It was my first time flying with spirit and once you pay extra for a seat, bags, and food, it ends up costing more to fly with this airline than it does with others. I will not be flying with spirit again."
Pros: "We boarded about 39 minutes late, but once the boarding process started we moved quickly and took off within a pretty reasonable time frame."
Cons: "Flying Spirit airlines you know the extra charges are around every corner. We may have saved slightly on the price of the flight, but easily made up the deficit in the cost of bringing a bag in the flight. While paying the $55 to carry on a bag the kiosk informed me that I could have saved money if I had done this online earlier. I had actually tried to do this earlier, but after 4 failed attempts to create an online profile (required) to check into your flight, I gave up. This airline also doesn't email you check in information as every other airline will. The plane itself, while successfully and safely flying us home, was old, very noisy and very bare bones as if it was a hand me down from another airline. Not knowing I'd have to pay an additional fee for something as simple as water, I sat through the flight without a beverage, which isn't horrible just annoying when the airline's main selling point is that it is less expensive than its competitors. in the future I'd rather pay more from the start."
Pros: "Cheap price. Make sure you don't pack more than a backpack full of items."
Cons: "Appeared ever single spirit plane at the Las Vegas airport was delayed by multiple hours."
Pros: "There is absolutely nothing good about this airline."
Cons: "There are lots of hidden fees we didn't know about and ended up spending a lot more money than intended. There was horrible communication between the airline and the airport and we were held on the plane for an additional 30 minutes after landing which caused us to miss our connecting flight. They said it was our fault for missing the connecting flight even though it was out of our control. We were stuck at the airport and the next available flight was not until the following day. We received no compensation for their mistakes."
Pros: "I didn't get o to this flight at all. Staff were very friendly, but completely overwhelmed and inexperienced. They were told to tell us that we had to switch flights because we wouldn't make the connecting flight, but in fact it was because the flight was overbooked. They said I'd get a hotel and then I had to take a taxi to the hotel where there was no room - as the hotel and had already informed the Spirit airlines staff. By the time I returned to the airport for a new hotel voucher it was 3am - and I'd been at the airport since 12am. Mostly it was also crazy to see the situations of other passengers with that airline. The staff were nice, but I wouldn't even feel safe flying with spirit again, much less like I'd be well served."
Cons: "This is by far the worst airline to fly with they charge you for everything the staff is very in professional and rude! The are low staffed and the same people that check you in are the ones helping load the plans. The Kiosk doesn't work! The seats are so uncomfortable.they don't even offer you water, they charge FOR A CARRY-ON even tho everyone else puts there luggage on top of the seats!! Do not fly with this airline YES ITS CHEAP BUT YOU END UP PAYING MORE THAN YOU WOULD AT ANY OTHER AIRLINE!!!"
Pros: "The staff in Orlando were beyond friendly and helpful. Jasmine (Supervisor) took great care of us."
Cons: "Our plane was an hour late in San Jose, then we sat on the runway for 45 minutes in Fort Lauderdale because Jet Blue was "blocking our gate". We were told twice that they were holding the plane (which was the last flight out because we missed our original flight by an hour and a half due to delays) for us. We went through security twice and they still didn't hold the plane. There's about 12 of us that didn't make it and was told that the plane was being held. We were forced to stand in the back of a long line to rebook. In that amount of time ( which was over 2 hours) in line and online booking were being made for our same flight. They WOULDN'T accommodate us with a hotel even after we stood in line for another 2 hours just so they could tell us that if we wanted to fly to Dallas it wouldn't be till Tuesday. By this time shuttles werent even running for the number they gave us for a discount on a hotel. The supervisor, GREG HALEY came over and covered his lanyard id with his hand the whole time he spoke with us. We asked for his name and he just said Greg and tried to walk away. We asked him for his last name and he was hesitant but told us it was Haley. We asked his supervisor's name and he scoffed and told us that he didnt have to give us that information, then walked away. We tried to sleep for 3hours on the freezing airport floor to catch a 8am flight to Houston so I could drive my boyfriend all the way to Dallas to pick up his truck and both of us drive back to Houston. Luckily our connecting flight to Houston was in Orlando for 4 hours so it gave me enough time to jump on a standby flight to Dallas Fort Worth out of Orlando in just under an hour. Worst airline and Supervisor (GREG HALEY-OUT OF FORT LAUDERDALE) I have EVER dealt with in ANY company."
Pros: "With all the hidden associated fees such as having to pay for all beverages and snacks, they charge you more than any other airlines for your checked luggage and the allotted weight limit of your luggage had to be 40lbs vs the 50lbs with other airlines. Additionally, they do not include the international taxes and fees when traveling internationally so you incurr that fee when leaving the country. By far the worst airline!!!!!"

Cons: "The hidden fees, charging 55.00 for a carry on ,50.00 to check it in at the ticket area and if you forgot to do that it's a 100.00 at the gate! Now if you did it online it would be 35.00! Not a real deal in my mind! They charge for your seat! 7.00 which I didn't and go fourth and twelfth rows while those who played the sucker bet got worse seats?? Level of service was zero not even an offer of water or snacks! And by the way if they did they would charge for that also no free coffee or water!"
Cons: "Uncomfortable planes, broken seats/ Unusable fold down trays (trays were about the size of a small tablet. You get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for a real airline."
Cons: "The entire flight was cancelled on Thu Jan 5th. I received no message about the cancellation. Reason was the volcano near San Jose was spitting ash. All other airlines were leaving except for the Spirit flight 756. After 2 hours in line at the counter I was told that they could offer me another seat on a flight in 5 days ( Wednesday) or a refund of the entire return flight. I asked for the refund. No receipt for refund was received. nor an email message that the refund was processed. I booked another flight for $705 to return overnight to EWR through Guatemala. Please provide phone number and info on how to receive the refund."
Cons: "too much time to setup the flight, pay the ticket then pay the seats then pay for bags... in the website or it will be more expensive if you go to the counter... after all of this I prefer to fly any other airline"
Pros: "I will never book another flight on Spirit. Beyond the nickel and diming they do to passengers from the beginning, they engage in unfair and deceptive trade practices. For example, when you choose seats online, if your session times out, as soon as you go back to the page, your seat prices go up. However, if you go back online using an incognito browser, the prices displayed are the original, lower prices. Further, my flight was canceled and Spirit blamed it on Customs and Border Patrol when the real reason was some of the flight crew failed to show up."
Pros: "I was very surprised to get charged $55 for my standard carry on. Spirit needs to show this on their web site with big letters. I will not fly with them again"
Cons: "To get charged for carry on bag"
Pros: "I have been traveling for business and pleasure for past 18 years and I have never been on anything worst than Spirit airlines. Definitely going to write them up on my washington post blog. Kayak should disassociate themselves from them."
Cons: "Spirit airlines is the WORST company!! They gauge you on hidden fees (like charging for carry on luggage!!) and then our flight got delayed by HOURS without any notification or explanation. I will never ever again fly with spirit air!"
Pros: "My flights were pretty punctual.any delays were easily attributed to weather, and we actually arrived 10 minutes early I in my first flight"
Cons: "I was a little shocked at their over the top fee for carry-on luggage. It ended up almost doubling the cost of my flight to bring an extra 20lbsof clothing. and supplies for 5 days away. Once we arrived at the gate and had completely stopped many passengers began to stand-up to stretch and get ready to disembark, we were quickly scolded to wait for the Seatbelt light to turn off, which it did seconds after we sat back down. If you are looking for a quick flight for an overnight adventure, you might like Spirit, but if you think you might need more than one change of clothes, choose someone else."
Pros: "Flights were both on time, smooth"
Cons: "I was unaware of the baggage and boarding pass fee policy at the time of buying my ticket, so it would be great if you could make that more clear."
Cons: "Alaska would've been a much better and more economical choice. Had no idea Spirit charges for bags until after I bought the ticket through Khyak. They might've said something! Also, Alaska has free carryons, diet cokes and peanuts. Spirit won't be around long."
Cons: "Did not travel on flight due to delay in Dallas. The flight from Los Angeles had left by the time my flight from Dallas had landed."
Pros: "spirit was late both ways. three plus hours late on the way home... so much so the train back into the city was closed and i had to take a $50 cab. i like the idea of cheaper fairs for simplicity, but its worth paying more if spirit cant even get the basics right."
Cons: "spirit was late both ways. three plus hours late on the way home... so much so the train back into the city was closed and i had to take a $50 cab. i like the idea of cheaper fairs for simplicity, but its worth paying more if spirit cant even get the basics right."
Pros: "That I was able to get from point A to B and the plane was on time! I got there safely!!!"
Cons: "That I had to play for EVERYTHING.... My seat, my checked bag, my drinks, and for the price of the ticket (which wasn't that cheap) I could've flown with a different airlines for about 15$ more with more amenities. For instance I payed 85$ for one way trip with Alaska, my checked bag was only 25$, soda and pretzels were complementary, I didn't have to pay for my seat and I was able to charge my phone ON THE PLANE!!! Get it together Spirit!!!"
Pros: "Richard, our steward, was the only reason the flight ever made it out of the country. Without him I would have been stranded in Costa Rica for another night."
Cons: "We sat on the tarmac in a hot plane for 5 hours after an aborted take off due to brake malfunction. They offered no food, no compensation, no protection, and instead of booking me another connecting flight they forced me to take a van they rented from fort lauderdale to my final destination, orlando."
Cons: "It took so long to check in for the flight that I almost missed it. It was not apparent you had to pay for carry on bags when I purchased my ticket"
Cons: "That my flight got cancelled & I did not get informed until I got there & they wanted me to wait in an hour wrong like to get my refund"
Pros: "the staff was kind ON the plane."
Cons: "the plane was cold. The staff in San Jose, would not make announcements, inform passengers what was happening. and kept hidden that a hotel was available to those whose flight was cancelled. in general most customers i spoke with said they would not fly your airline again. and staff at your hotels said flight cancellations happen all the time with spirit. low fares are cool, but someone is absorbing these costs in your business model. i wonder if you will survive as an airline beyond 1-2 years if this is your manner of performance. we are willing to fly in discomfort, pack small bags, etc, but to treat us like pigs, is not a good thing for anyone."
Cons: "The most uncomfortable seat I have ever been in. I thought because I only had a short (2 12 hr) flight that I would try this cheap airline, boy was that a mistake. Not only was the flight delayed 2 hours, but the seats were crammed and did not recline. I looked around and everyone was trying to sleep, but with the seats perfectly vertical everyones head was bobbing up and down. Don't do it to save a few bucks, you will be sorry. I guarantee it"
