The booking was through WestJet (found the flight on kayak which kicked me over to West Jet's site) and check in was a pain. Their code did not work for their site or Delta's, I had to FB message them both leaving and returning to ask for the correct one, and the first request took them hours to answer. I'll just book Delta next time and save myself the trouble.

Cons: Plane was diverted back to Toronto from LaGuardia airport as we were told due to "weather", landed late at night and were told that due to not being able to control weather WestJet could not assist with accommodations, leaving everyone stranded and scrambling to find a room in alreday booked up hotels. When speaking on phone with agent, I was told it wasn't due to weather but incident at LaGuardia where plane went off runway. I paid $130.00 for 5 hours in a hotel, due to pilot error, not weather. La Guardia opened it's other runway immediately after and other airports in NewYork were running fine. Completely unacceptable and extremely bad customer service as CSR simply told us "sorry we can't help". Will never book with West Jet again.

This should have been indicated when booking the flight, we would have purchased a different flight. When we got on the flight, overhead bin was too small for my husbands carry on and a flight attendant whisked his bag away before we could ask where she was going. She came back without the bag and we asked where she had taken it- she had checked it without asking us if this would be ok. The bag was full of valuable breakables as well as our cash and cards. We asked if we could get the bag at the gate and she said it would come out on the carousel. So we spent 3 hours completely stressed out. Drinks were only served once the entire flight, more water should have been offered. When we got off the plane one of our bags had gone missing. We had to wait 2 days to have it delivered. It was delivered at 4am in the morning. Overall compared to the previous United flight, Air Canada has lots of room for improvement.

Cons: I am filing a complaint with regard to my recent flight on Dec 31, 2016 from Barcelona (BCN) back to San Francisco, US (SFO) on Air Canada, with a connection in Toronto, Canada (Flight # AC1915 and AC739). My wife and I were denied boarding at Barcelona because we did not have an ETA to visit Canada. However, we actually qualify for the Transit Without Visa Program, allowing us to transit through Canada to the US without an ETA. Please see below. My wife and I arrived at BCN airport in Barcelona before 11 am, more than 3 hours prior to the departure time of 2 pm for flight AC1915 to Toronto. Please see the attached bus ticket as proof, indicating we boarded the bus at 10:30 am at Barcelona city center. This is more than enough time for check-in processes. I knew about the ETA requirement prior to travel. However, I also knew that, as a Taiwanese national, we qualify for the Transit Without Visa program, allowing us to transit through Canada to the US without an ETA. The Canadian Government website states that: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas-all.asp#eta-exemptions “The following persons are exempt from the eTA requirement: • Foreign nationals seeking to transit through Canada under Transit Without Visa or China Transit Program.” Furthermore, also on the Canadian Government website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1092&top=16 “Travellers whose planes refuel in Canada going to and from the United States, as well as participants in the China Transit Program and Transit Without Visa Program, do not need to have an eTA or a visa to transit Canada.” We qualify for the Transit Without Visa Program because according to the Canadian Government website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/twov/travellers.asp • We are citizens of Taiwan • We hold valid Taiwanese passports (please see attached passport photo) • We hold valid US visas (please see attached green card photo) • We are traveling to Canada on an approved airline: Air Canada Rouge • We transit through an approved Canadian airport (Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, terminal 1, without a change of terminal between flights) • We hold a confirmed onward ticket to the US the same day (AC739 to San Francisco, departing at 6:55 pm the same day) • We arrive during operating hours for the US in-transit pre-clearance facility. During check-in, we were told that we needed an ETA and denied us boarding. I tried explaining to the supervisor on duty that day that an ETA is actually not required for us since we qualify for Transit Without Visa, using the arguments I presented above in this letter, as well as showing him the websites from the Canadian Government. However, the supervisor insisted that we needed an ETA, citing the general policy that Taiwanese citizens require ETA to visit Canada. What he did not realize was that we satisfy a very unique case that did NOT require an ETA.
Cons: This is not an Air Canada flight, is a Rouge flight, meaning there is no service, no screens, not even blankets on board. I didn't know that until after confirming my reservation, and it makes all the difference. For a low cost flight, the service is ok, but it shouldn't be advertised as Air Canada at all.
Cons: YVR airport's Air Canada staff was extremely unprofessional. First, they cancelled my original itinerary and moved me to a flight 3 hours later. Now I understand it was holidays so I was okay thus far. I got to the airport 2 hours before the departure time and even though I had check-in online, I was requested to get into "Check-in assistance" line instead of the "baggage drop". The "Check-in assistance" line had multiple people rebooking their flights when at the counter (on an average each person was being held for 15 minutes by the slow staff). By the time I reached the counter, I was told that the gate had been closed and I will have to rebook. The staff said at that point that it was "just the way it is" and their terms and conditions have this clause saying they don't guarantee people will be boarded. Well, sure, don't board them if they're late but don't delay them on purpose and then strike them off the boarding list. Very Very disappointed.

Most appreciated their sensitivity.

Pros: Entertainment worked on this flight! And once again, I had an empty seat next to me - that's always a huge plus so I can stretch a bit.

Pros: First flight delayed once board to check a broken light. Then waisted 40 minutes taxiing on tarmac in Houston because they couldn't find a gate. Missed our connection. They put us up in a low end hotel overnight. Then we had our morning flight again delayed as we waited for planes to the take off, so further delays. Arrived in Costa Rica 1 hour late. Now with too many other flights so immigration packed and took another hour and twenty minutes (when we finished there was only a 5 minute wait). Thanks United

Pros: The boarding process is terrible, because communication breakdown is inevitable. The crew on the plane are sometimes rude, and have no patience when passing seated passengers. One air hostess constantly bumped into my arm like a bull as she passed walking down the isle. Entertainment is practically non-existent on long flights unless you pay for it. Two of my flights were cancelled last minute with little to no remorse, and I had to wait 2 days to catch the next flight. That flight was even delayed more than an hour. I was sick by time I reached my destination. Overall, United would not be my 1st choice due to bad experiences numerous times.
Pros: Since we were the last ones to arrive at the gate because of our delayed flight they had to check our carry-on baggage with the luggage we didn't have locks and nomally what we carry in that bag are fragile or valuable things. They should at least have plastic gauzes or fragile stickers to put on the bags. I don't know the reason but the flight attendants left about the last 6 rows of passengers without pretzels or drinks. There was no device to view movies. Leg space too tight.

Cons: Now when I fly united i feel like flying with spirit or jet blue o any other cheap airline, they charge for everything but sodas. They don't even carry blankets. The fact that for a long (3h- 4h and 5h) flight (took 4 overall during the holidays) united didn't offered ONE movie for free at least was very disappointing. Not one of my flights were on-time!

Cons: After three years of flying all around US, realized United is the worst of the three major legacy carriers. I'm star alliance gold and it's still a painful experience. Crew admitted in latest redesign of planes they've managed to squeeze another six seats in coach. My seat wouldn't go back but even if it did, would feel too guilty for person behind to do it - so little legroom on newer planes. They've also cut down on restrooms so for most of the flight there was a line of 5-6 people waiting in the aisle. American Airlines seems to have older planes but at least decent legroom (and I'm not tall - anybody over 5'10 would have to sit at an angle on new United planes!). Been very impressed by Delta's service lately. United feels more like Spirit

Cons: We were instructed to hand in our hand luggage before boarding the plane which meant we had to wait in a long one after the flight to get the luggage back. HOWEVER, the plane had plenty of overhead luggage room to accommodate our luggage. We were told by the cabin staff that the gate personnel don't always check what size plane it is before requiring everyone to hand in their luggage.
Cons: About two hours before my flight, it was canceled after previously making an airplane switch the night before after checking in online. The I received an email while I was on the way to the airport saying that the airplane that I was going to fly out on was canceled due to airplane maintenance. While I am happy they didn't fly the plane while needing maintenance, they should have planned ahead and known of the maintenance or had a backup ready to go. Obviously it must have been something they just found, but in the big picture of things. You have to pay an way to much for a flight as it is. They should have to solve their own issues to honor their part of the contract. We (as customers) can't cancel a flight with out penalties. Why shouldn't they have to do the same?
Pros: On the trip from Des Moines to Houston, timeliness of flight was great. The boarding went smooth and was done quickly. The crew were friendly and courteous. Overall the first half of the trip was fine.
Cons: I was extremely disappointed in the condition of my luggage when I picked it up plane side. The wheel was broke off and all the pockets had been unzipped and it appeared they had been rummaged through. I had to drag my bag through the terminal. I spoke with 3 individuals with United who referred me onto the next and each unwilling as the previous to help. I myself am in customer service and would never treat my customers the way I was treated by the employees representing your Airline. I would go above and beyond to make the sure that the customers experience was a great one in spite of the unfotunate incident so they would return. I have never flown United before, and I will not consider your airline in the future.
Cons: They delayed the flight due to "operational difficulties". I understand this happens, however, their communication towards customers was unacceptable. They first announced a 20 min delay, followed by another 30 min, then 30 more and then 30 more than then 30 more! They basically kept us at the gate for 2 1/2 hours until the found another plane. For a business like United, and flying out of their hub this is completely unacceptable. We ended up leaving at 11pm for a flight scheduled at 8. They didnt give anything in the plane to make up for it. No food, no free wifi, nothing.

Cons: Disenchanted flight attendants. For whatever reason, it is obvious that there is unhappiness. Not flat affect, just the look of disinterest, a look that tells you I don't care. In a customer based business it is so disheartening that the very person you may have to depend on to survive is not vested in the clientele that keeps her company in business, thereby insuring future paychecks. I'd like to communicate here that it wasn't all the attendants on either flight, but enough that it was obvious to anyone who paid even casual attention. I was flying home to California, so there were two additional flights a few days before the flights home. I never had any of the same flight attendants on any of the flight. As far as my observation of the attendants, as stated above, I think that speaks volumes. I will cite an example that happened on my trip from Iowa to Denver. I need wheelchair assistance, I walk with a cane, but not able to walk any distance. I pack a light carry-on, bring my purse, jacket and cane. I was being wheeled up the passageway in a regular wheelchair, and the man pushing me stated to the on-coming crew he "would be right back to get my suitcase, couldn't take both at the same time", and added " unless one of you could roll it up?". After an embarrassing pause, a female flight attendant said "Let the flight attendant do it. Add this to the list of responsibilities that aren't really my job." I actually twisted around to look at this person, I was so stunned to hear that! She grabbed my rolling carry-on handle and the look spoke columns. I was embarrased. Thank you. Debra K. Forsythe

Cons: I purchased my tickets on 10/30/2015 for an aisle seat. I check in the day before and no seat assignment, get to the kiosk and no seat assignment. I see the agent at the gate and she gives me a middle seat, I complained and she gave me an aisle seat. I get to my seat and someone is sitting in that seat, I go back to the front of the plane and wait to be assigned to another seat. The agent said they changed the plane that's why everyone lost seat assignments, 6 out of the 8 people that all booked together sat in their assigned seats. Never fly with them again.

Cons: Not sure the point of flying the "no frills" airlines. It certainly wasn't cheap and no carry on and plastic seats makes we wished I booked Delta.

Cons: This was my first time flying Frontier. The flight was 2 and 1/2 hours delayed. While the boarding process was quick, the delay really put a damper on the flight. Seats were very uncomfortabe and seemed smaller than other airlines I have traveled more frequently. The carpet had gum all over it.

Oh yea, coffee was great, not that awful strong Starbucks stuff.

Cons: That the price to take a small carryon was just as expensive as taking a large suitcase, ended up having to pay and extra $80 r/t for a small bag and I just that's standard for them. There were no barf bags in any seats, believe me everyone around us was looking as the person next to me was getting sick on the landing because it was crazy rough. When we finally were able to get an attendant over she was as rude as could be, I'm sure this sick person next to me was sorry she "inconvenienced" the crew member, if they just put bags in the seats pockets like every other airline this wouldn't have been an issue. The seats were very uncomfortable with no padding and not able to tilt. The tray tables were nonfunctional, too small and did not extend to get anywhere close enough to reach you. The plane ride itself felt like we were on a old school bus on a gravel road. I had a round trip ticket with frontier and both trips were equally as bad. I will never travel with them again, Most of us weren't even sure if we were going to survive take off with out the plan breaking or something.

Cons: The plane was definitely older and there was trash and something sticky all in and around my seat. The flight attendants were very stuck up and played on their tablets and phones for the duration of the flight, ate pizza, and looked to be drinking too. Not much customer help, but that's also because no complimentary items are given through frontier, no even a half cup of soda. There are no bonus features on board like wi-fi or tv's on seat backs to order tv or movies. The price of flight was offset by the cost of bags and seat, so I ended up paying the same as I would have via United. I will not be flyin Frontier again.

They close their gate 40 minutes before the plane leaves; you will be stranded if you are late (My son missed his flight in the past when we arrived 50 minutes before the plane left). They charge for everything; checked bags, carry-ons, even drinks. There is no room to store anything. The seats don't recline. There is no entertainment. The staff is surly. They are supposed to be a low-cost airline, but, after all of the mark-ups, it's about the same. They have the worst on-time performance of any domestic airline. Do not fall for it. If you have ANY alternative choice, take it!!!

Cons: Though a sign was posted with a time when the counter agent would arrive, we (there were MANY of us waiting who had checked in electronically) had to wait over 20 minutes for her to show up to tag and take our checked bags. She was unkempt and unfriendly, and oddly insisted on looking at everyone's identification, even those who weren't checking bags. The flight crew was wonderful, and the rest of the flight was generally good. It's not effective for a travel business to begin a journey on a bad note.
Pros: I liked being able to have priority getting off my first flight to make my connection in Denver. I had to sprint but I made it.
Cons: I didn't like having to pay extra for my seat on both flights, pay for my carry on that didn't fit in your overhead compartment, and pay for my only carry on, a backpack. I paid for my flight, that should be the price of my seat and the things I need to travel. I pack light and I still had to pay an extra $100 on the day of my flight. VERY dissatisfied.

The flight boarded and then we sat for over 2 hours because of a malfunction with the auto-pilot. The captain said they could fly the plane without the auto-pilot but there was an extreme amount of paperwork that had to be completed. Are you kidding me? Two hours to fill out paperwork--that is a complete waste of your employees time, let alone the 200 passengers that are stuck and delayed!!!! At least I now know that "cheaper" is a relative term when flying Frontier airlines. I have lifetime gold status on United...what was I thinking when I booked this flight?
Cons: Had to deplane, then get back on the plane, staff didn't communicate what was happening. We still didn't fly out for 45 minutes M. We had a sleepy, cranky baby because we were already flying out 2 hrs later than scheduled. No one checked in on is once. Very frustrating experience and I don't think we will fly frontier again if we can help it.
