Cons: "One of the main reasons why I chose Jetblue its because it is an ALMOST 4-5 star experience with great affordable ticket prices. Unfortunaltelly the ALMOST it is so, due such an important role such a host/hostess at the airport representing so poorly the company, EVERY TIME I leave from fortlauderdale airport. Once the check-in kiosk fails to complete to check you in (and I am ok with machines poor work) you are directed to a crew members in the counters. A host/hostess from jetblue standing in front of the counters, instead of greet you properly or showing some sort of degree of willingness to welcome you or help you tell you "yes, what do you need... ? That never fails! It feels like you are breaking in into a zone you are not suppose to be, and annoyingly you are disturbing these people. It so confusing why they have those attitudes, specially at that position, where you really need to clear up the bad weed in choosing your personnel. I think these few"crew members" can make a smooth transition to nightclub bouncers, where I'm sure will be a great fit."

The compensation offered was a joke. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!"

Traveling with bulky blankets and pillows in order to be able to sleep on a night flight is not always possible. JB provides eyemask and ear plugs, which is ridiculous. I can bring my own eyemask and ear plugs. I even paid extra for upgrade seats! The headrests are not adjustable and the recline is barely noticeable. It was a long 6 hour flight! No entertainment. I have flown other airlines to South America and been able to enjoy full feature recent release films, TV shows and games. Why can't JB figure out how to do that on their international flights? No meals. All other airlines offer meal service on their international flights. I pay as much for JB flights as I have for other airlines going to South America. The value for JB tickets just isn't there. To fly JB, picture yourself getting on board with your own pillows, blankets, entertainment and food. That about sums it up."

Very clean flight. The attendants were very helpful and patient!
My only real issue was that when I booked this flight through Kayak, I somehow booked via BudgetAir.com (though I was on your website.) Due to this, I was unable to access boarding passes coming or going via the Kayak app, or the Allegient app. Luckily I was able to print them prior to leaving home (and the resort printed them for on the way back), but using this site is definitely something I'll have to consider for my trip. I should have been able to access boarding passes electronically via the app regardless.

The flight was delayed a total of 5 times for a total delay of about 4 hours. The original scheduled flight was for 6:35 pm and we didn't actually leave the ground until almost 10:30. We kept getting pushed back. I am not certain if it was due to weather (in another area) or required flight crew rest, both of which I would understand. There was no reason posted that I saw. I have a 10 yo son who has Autism and should be in bed no later than 10 pm, preferably 9 pm. I appreciate all that Allegiant does for the military, and therefore, will continue to fly on your airline. I will NOT, however, take any more evening flights as most of the ones I've flown on have either been delayed or altogether cancelled. Again, I truly appreciate your recognition of retired and active duty military. 8/10 is a B and can be improved upon with more clarevoyance and keeping on-time flights."

They delay flights regularly but there’s never any additional information...they just send you a text or email saying your flight is delayed, never tell you why, but they want you at the gate at the regular time...so you sit there for hours with No further communication and the gate agents never come to the gate to let you know what’s going on or what to expect because corporate has gotten stingy with regard to compensating folks even when THEY are to blame for the delay. Two trips in a row, two weeks apart, they’ve done the same thing to us. When it did come time to board, they told everyone in the line that was going to Cincinnati that we couldn't check in until 2 hours before the departure time. Apparently there were some other flights that left before us. If they had told us to keep our place in line and to let other people through, that wouldn't have been a problem. But, they didn't. Their own website says you should check baggage at least 2 hours before your flight and no more than 4 hours before. They took it upon themselves to change the rules on people who arrive early. Then, once they no longer had anyone else to check in, they changed their rules again and start checking in people for Cincinnati about 2.5 hours ahead of time. A little communication and brain power from the staff would have gone a long way. After all that mess, the flight was delayed leaving about 15 minutes without any updates from Allegiant either."

As I tried to explained that she was German and that the question had confused her and didn't primped reply, the crew stope us from boarding the flight, and demanded that our seats be changed for someone who could understand English! We explained that we both understood and spoke English perfectly well... But no one was going to reason with us and quickly removed us from our seats and had us put into the back sectioned which was without extralegal room and proceeded to give our seat out to another couple who volunteered... Without charging extra... It was appalling their behavior and unreasonable gestures towards their customers and at that a Gold member of the Alliance. We will no longer book flights with United no matter what comes, even if we have to fly around the world to get there pay triple etc. It felt a hint of racism and with the state of things, I do hope others take heed in consideration of flying with this airline. I did not choose seats before departure date and when we arrived at the airport we found that we were all in separate seats. Cons: "The employee was rude. We waited in line (not moving) for 1 hour and change. They cancelled every single one of their flights to Florida. Their next available flight was for Wednesday, August 7th. We asked if their were any other flights going to FLL and she said she couldn't help us with that. She said we would have to go upstairs and check for ourselves. We asked for the manager and she's said "she's on her way". A man came and told us that whatever was under Spirit Airlines was the only thing we can refund to you. My brother asked the lady "I thought you said the manager was a she". The lady goes "we have two". My brother goes "well, can we speak to her?" and the lady, in a very rude tone goes, "well do you want to hear the same thing twice?" The only reason we argued back was because that lady was extremely disgusting to us. The lady claimed we got an email sent out to us saying our flight was cancelled and it was not. We showed her our phones too. She said "how do I know that you're not lying about the email?" Anyways, we got refunded on our tickets but the reason we were going was for a game the next day (Aug 5). Those tickets are nonrefunable and Spirit Airlines is responsible for that because this was caused by them. We also rented a car for the days we were going to be there, which I also think they're responsible for. The game tickets were $65 each and it was 4 of us. The car rental was $97. All that money went down the drain because Spirit Airlines cancelled all of their flights. I emailed the car rental place and we couldn't get refunded and the guy said that it's the airlines fault for cancelling the flight and they should pay for everything. I will definitely not recommend this airline to anyone. Moral of the story, SPIRIT AIRLINES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING! Soon, this Airline will be out of business. Cons: "firstly they have given me earlier flight. Now after lot of drama they cancelled the flight. Passengers are left stranded. After that they decided to fly one flight which will be at 11 PM but seats are full. They have issued me 6 AM flight for next day. No one was at customer center to entertain us. Tried reaching spirit people luckily I got stand by in 11 PM flight and I got cleared the stand by list. But I have a very horrible experience with Spirit. They don't entertain people properly"

Pros: "Flight going from FLL to EWR( Newark) on Saturday morning was ok. However, return flight from EWR to FLL the next day was a complete disaster. Would never fly spirit EVER!! I had to buy a new ticket with another airline ( united) for a one-way ticket($370). No reimbursement. NEVER SPIRIT( the hit or miss airlines!!!!!!!"

Cons: "When I got to my seat there were peanuts all over it. Also they cut off the lock from my boyfriend's suitcase which I dont get. It was a TSA approved lock so they just needed to unlock it. They also cut off a lock from a side pocket of my bag. I don't get why. Need to buy new locks now."

Cons: "Both flights on vacation were 2.5 hours late. No one inform me that the greatest discount on bags could be gotten if you book your bags during the session where you booked your flight. I view this as Kayaks fault not Spirits, although I don't think highly of Spirit right now."

Cons: "On my roundtrip from Newark To Ft. Lauderdale I experienced 2 delays on each flight. The delays down were understandable because of weather conditions. The delays back were not sufficiently explained."

Cons: "The fact that you have to pay for luggage and limit each bag to 40 lbs. Its very easy to overlook the weight limits for luggage since it shows pricing for overweight bags and because of it I found myself unpacking and re-packing my bags at the check in counter which is very frustrating. Also this airline charges you for little things here and there which defeats the purpose of saving money. I ended up paying more for my seats thinking I they were going to be more comfortable but they were all the same except for executive class (or so I think its executive). So in conclusion I ended up paying almost the same that I would have paid should I have chosen another airline with bags included. Also the seats are DO NOT recline which sucks big time."
Pros: "The customer service was incredible. I knew what I was getting in to regarding no entertainment, smallish seats, etc. but I did not find the seats uncomfortable and brought my own entertainment. I will travel with Spirit again."
Cons: "My 6 am flight was cancelled at 4.30 am with the excuse that the weather was bad at the destination. I don't understand how a dry 90 degree weather can be an excuse for cancellation an hour and a half before the flight"
Pros: "no issues. carry on was fine, picked my seats no issues with that. flight attendants were very friendly & professional. smooth flight, on time. Aircraft was super clean. there was food and drinks available for purchase. Seats are a bit less "chunky" than other airlines but they were fine."
Cons: "I was a bit late getting to Newark, but I only had a carry-on, so needed to grab my boarding pass and just get through security. When I finally found the Spirit Airlines counter in the basement, their electronic kiosk wouldn't work. There was a huge line, so the Spirit employees ignored me. I could not get my boarding pass, even though I would have had time to get through security and run to my gate!!! I had to buy a separate flight on United so I could make it to this wedding. Any refund would be appreciated! Spirit Airlines is horrible!!!"

Cons: "My flight 876 was delayed from 6:00pm-9:15pm.... Then the flight departure changed to 7:30pm and them to 6:50pm. So basically one has to sit at the gate for 3 hours or miss your flight which I almost did and I'm sure may people did. This situation was handled completely improperly. I went to the counter and they told me to go to jet blue??? Then I waited in line for 45 minutes at Jet Blue and they had no idea what i was even talking about. Nobody could help at me at Spirit of explain what was going on. I called spirit and was on hold for 30 minutes, then finally I go someone who said look at the monitors....they can't help me. I have never flown Spirit airlines and I never will again. The worst customer service and it just makes not sense to tell the people it's leaving at 9pm then switch the flight to 6:50, if giving an explanation that may help people understand what is going on and to stay close to the gate, them we didn't depart until 8:15 anyhow, after boarding the plane sat for an hour and 20 minutes. As a new customer this was the most horrendous airline I have ever traveled, and I travel alot. Katie Cassidy"

Flight was clearly overbooked, which seems to be their scam, and the service was rude. Tickets were cheap for a reason. Flown with other budget airlines and weren't chaotic or disorganized like this garbage airline. Rather take United and get punched in the face"

Cons: "Ridiculous delays, lack of accommodation, perceived incompetence, delayed the flight, then put it on its original schedule, only to sit on the plane for hours because Of what sounded like fake excuses (computer glitch, nationwide FAA issues (while other flights were taking off)). His on top of the already crummy service and policies (charging to select your seat is a new low). I'll never fly this airline again no matter how cheap it is."
Cons: "So terrible, me and my flying mate were booted off the plane because they "downgraded" the plane to a smaller plane. The plane essentially became over booked. They claimed we were chosen because we checked in last but we had checked in and even bought more expensive seat assignments a day earlier. Now I have these Spitit airlines flight vouchers as compensation that I don't even want to use. The small silver lining in this debcole is that they booked me a flight with a different airline."

Cons: "It was a terrible experience!!! Stinky way to end a vacation!! From the moment we entered the terminal, SPIRIT handled everything poorly. They had 5 agents working to handle 5-6hundred passengers. There was only one agent walking the floor answering questions. He was nice enough to me but in his frustration, he was very rude to other passengers. People were getting nervous that their planes were boarding and they still hadn't checked their bags. This caused people to try and cut in front of other people in line and of course those passengers became angry. After finally getting through that mess, we got to our gate in a different terminal (which was also confusing because our boarding pass said terminal 3 which we went to first only to find out that we needed to go to Terminal 4 to check in and then walk over to terminal 3 to board). Once we boarded the plane they told us that the computer system was down so they could not put in their flight planes so they let us off the plane. We re-boarded the plane and finally landed home around 2:00 in the morning. By the time we got our luggage and drove home (20 minutes) it was 3:15. Overall Stinky!!!!!"
Pros: "I had to pay $100.00 more for checking in my carry-on for the round trip which basically end up costing me why I would have had to paid for United or Delta. Thenow there is the issue of the chair those do not recline and the leg room is horrible... definitely will never ever flight spirit again"

Cons: "Turbulence was awful for much of the flight, and although that can't always be avoided, reassurance from the pilot or flight attendants would have been much appreciated. Flight attendants carried on conversations loudly and were rude to travelers who wanted to move to empty seats."

I couldnt even get a cup of water, in fact the a staff member made a joke and said she could turn up the air for me and laughed. not funny. The crew was so loud and talky, Everyone on th eplane was trying to rest but it was very hard. The gate was so very far away where Spirit check in was!!!"

Cons: "Shortcut security was not honored flying to fll. Was unaware of the so calley "bare fare". I paid almost $300 for my flight just to find out the night before that I had to pay an additional $142 for my seats and bags. Water wasn't even free! Flight was late departing but arrived On time. On the way home I got to the airport 2.5hrs early even though I checked in the night before just to be put in a long line because spirit appeared under staffed. The Spirit agent took our long coiled line and put us outside in a straight line...in the cold and rain! While in line, a Spirit passenger was visibly and audibly crying. A few other passengers including myself tried to help her. We informed a near by agent who also saw the crying woman and told us "it's not my job. She's not my concern." The lack of care and customer service was ridiculous. Not only will I never fly spirit again but I will encourage friends and family to boycott them as well."
Cons: "Our flight was cancelled last minute. I waited an hour on the phone to reschedule our flight. The online Spirit website was even worse. My flight status was never updated with my flight cancellation and I was unable to reschedule my flight online thru the Spirit website."

Cons: "didn't realize we had to pay for each checked bag AND a carry on (they counted my purse as one carry on) until we got to the airport. Ended up paying almost as much for the bags as we did for two round trip tickets! They offer cheap flights and then charge you big bucks for every thing else...classic bait and switch!"

Cons: "First of all, the flight was delayed by more than 4 hours. Had I been notified of this, I wouldn't have had to get up at 3:30 AM to get to the airport in time. I signed up for the email notifications and am a Free Spirit member- none came. Second of all, the airport was in complete chaos. In fairness, there had been a shooting in terminal 2 the day before, but there was no organization, no one to ask about which line to stand in, etc.. A couple of employees with megaphones would have gone a long way. Third of all, the gate agent boarding the plane was the definition of rudeness and snarkiness. Fourth of all, while boarding the plane, and elderly man became unresponsive and had to be wheeled off the plane. Again, total chaos, no announcements. The man fell out of the wheelchair and expired on the jet bridge- ok, beyond Spirit's control, but the way the gate agent and flight attendants handled this was disgraceful. Fifth of all, we all had to disembark, then line up to board again, then they cancelled out flight. 6th- we were instructed to exit the terminal and rebook at the front desk. People ran like the starting gun had shot at the olympics. When I exited the terminal, we were met with a wall of people- total chaos- no one directing traffic- agents yelling at us- we were finally directed to line up outside in the hot sun (wearing black winter clothes) and proceeded to wait for over 4 hours. I didn't even get close to the desk- I booked a return flight on American for $430 out of Miami because people who were able to reach Spirit via phone (I was on hold for over 2 hours before my phone died) were saying they couldn't get us back to NYC until next week. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach Spirit to refund the money for my carry on bag."

Cons: "Planes were dirty and were charged for carry on which I found to be a bit ridiculous. The money you save on the ticket ended up going to pay towards luggage so it would have been better going through a nicer airline. Planes really had nothing to offer as far as comfort. On the way home the plane had a 2 hour delay and no real customer service was given to a accommodate for the inconvincoence. Also had an issue with the luggage keeping us in the airport way longer than needed. Would not fly with spirit again"
Cons: "It's terrible when you pay extra for better seats, yet when there are emergency seats available, they are given to other people for free. There should be a system where people who have paid for upgrades get preference or this system makes no sense."
