There is also an exception for travelers with the following visas: A-1, A-2, C-1, C-1/D, C-2, C-3, CR-1, CR-2, D, E-1 (as an employee of TECRO or TECO or the employee's immediate family members), G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, IR-1, IR-4, IH-4, NATO-1 through NATO-4, or NATO-6 visa;
Members of the US Armed Forces, spouses, and children of members of the US Armed Forces;
Travelers with invitation of the USA government for a purpose related to the containment/mitigation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19);
Travelers with documents issued by the US Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection, or US Department of State indicating that the traveler is exempt from the restriction;
B1 crew crewmembers that are engaged in lightering, Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) activity, wind farm activity, private air/sea crew and other similar crewmember activities;
Students with an F-1 or M-1 visa and their F-2 and M-2 dependents, if they arrive from or have been in Ireland, the UK or Schengen Area in the past 14 days.
All travelers, 2 years of age or older (including US citizens and transit passenger) must present a negative COVID-19 viral or antigen test result issued 72 hours prior to departure or have a proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days prior to boarding the plane.
Travelers must complete a disclosure and attestation form before departure.
Exemptions or waiver to the testing requirements may be granted by the CDC on an extremely limited basis when emergency travel (like an emergency medical evacuation) must occur to preserve someone’s life, health against a serious danger, or physical safety and testing cannot be completed before travel.
US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Travelers arriving in New York State must complete the Traveler Health Form.
Travelers arriving in Massachusetts must complete the Massachusetts Health Form.
Travelers are advised to get tested 3-5 days after travel and stay home and self-quarantine for 7 days after travel. Even if they test negative, they must still stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days. If the test is positive, isolate to protect others from getting infected.
Travelers who did not get tested, are advised to stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

Cons: "Flight was scheduled to leave early, the plane arrived, but they couldn't turn the plane around fast enough. We left the gat late, then pilot said we would still be arriving half an hour early. We arrived about 45 minutes late, and that was a problem because our connecting flight was due to depart now in 15 minutes. Lightning forced the airport to shutdown, which was great, we had a chance to catch our flight, but we were stuck in the airplane, and we couldn't get to our gate until the all-clear. I know this is not Delta's fault, but they did arrive quite late on a flight that, according to them, would be early. They also never communicated to the other flight that there were several passengers catching that connection. So by the time we had ran to catch our connection they had closed the ramp. Lightning hit again, and they shutdown the airport once again, so the airplane was still at the gate for about an hour, and they did not allow the 20+ passengers to board that plane, which was right there. So frustrating. The only thing that saved it was that our new flight was the new airbus, and although it left an hour and a half later, the comfort level was phenomenal."

Cons: "I don't think I have ever rated any service negatively, but here's my first. TAP completely ruined my birthday trip that I have saved up for a long time for. DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THEM! I had a valid Schengen tourist visa issued by the Consulate of Portugal. At the time of visa issuance, the printer of the Consulate was not functioning, so part of the visa information was hand-written, but it was properly signed and stamped. The Consulate told me it's valid and said they have been doing so for ten years. The Consulate also said that they, not the airlines, have the sole authority to determine the validity of the visa. When I went to the airport to check in with TAP, TAP staff denied me boarding because they did not believe my visa was valid. I only learned later that this action was inconsistent with TAP's own internal policies. The staff at the kiosk told me that I could either ask for a refund or rebooking of the ticket. But when I called TAP the next day, I was told I could not get a refund even though they should not have denied me boarding. I called TAP many times and got a different answer each time. They simply refuse to compensate me for their own mistake. It's the most horrible travel experience I've ever had!"

She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."

She did not even indicate where to keep the strollers. All she cared was to see d face of my toddler, in my effort to get d child up from stroller and turn her around to her, she fell and guess what, this lady did not even react! Unflinching, she just wanted to check d face of my 3 year old in case she is impersonating. That being said, some other staff were very friendly so this is not generalizing all to be same way"

Cons: "With an hour delay out of Paris due to waiting for missing aircraft flight documents to be completed and delivered to the airplane on the holding ramp, we ended up arriving in Toronto an hour late. With only an original connection time of 90 minutes, it was not possible for me to make it thru Canadian and US customs to the connection gate. I was to learn that no other connection to a Kansas City was available until much later in the afternoon / early evening. As a result, I ended up arriving in Kansas City 6 (six) hours later than originally scheduled, three quarters of the time it took to travel from Paris to Toronto. To say the least , I was not at all thrilled having lost that time."

Packed in like sardines, offered gross food, hardly anything to entertain you and they literally never stop walking up and down the aisles with carts so good luck going to the bathroom. (that could be said of almost any flight nowadays)."

I had to call Air Canada, which charged me for the call (15 centimes per minute) then put me on hold, only to finally learn that I could only check in in person because we were traveling with a pet. --- We paid extra for preferential seating, and when we got to the counter were told that we could not have those seats bcs we were traveling with a pet - the pet was acknowledged on our records and travel documents, yet the company allowed us to sign up for preferential seating, then would not let us access those seats, but our previously reserved window seats were gone and we were assigned aisle and center seats, which were then changed again to other aisle and center seats. --- Half the flights on the departure board, including ours, were delayed, alhto there were no weather problems. Both our plane and the plane in the gate next to where we were waiting had mechanical problems - a coincidence, or a repeated failing?"

You would think they would give you two seats together considering you are flying with a minor. Nope! The seats were on different side of the isle and they had a seat between. One of the flight attendants was gonna accommodate us to be seated next to each other on the side with two seats only and my daughter was happy to be next to me. Another flight attendant comes after us and moves us to the middle where are 4 seats between the isles. I would recommend to ask what seats you are getting before boarding. I had picked two seats next to each other but in the meantime they sold the window seat to somebody else and moved me one seat away from my 9 year old daughter plus an isle between us. Will NEVER fly them again. I felt very uncomfortable and honestly like criminal while waiting for them to decide about my seating arrangements after paying additional $600 on the top of the regular fare. This was a flight from Paris to Montreal."

I did know I needed a document to transit Canada but their website is absolutely not straight forward in telling you what you need to do. I read there was an exempt till September 2016 and since I was flying before it, I thought I would be fine. While I understand it was my fault for not doing my research, it's the way the airline company handled the situation that incredibly frustrated me. There is no empathy or willingness to help a traveler about to embark on their journey, when they are told they can't board. I didn't know you needed a visa just to transit!! It's just stone cold responses and haughtiness. It's a new rule, cut me some slack! They just pushed me off to a partner airline and I was asked to pay 1500$ for a one way flight. I m getting very frustrated with airlines of late! Customer service sucks. There is no genuine empathy for a person in a bind. It's all about making money and getting you out of the line. I'm just disappointed."

The double trip code was VERY inconvenient, found myself constantly having to call the other airline to book the seat, find the gate, find out about luggage limitations, etc. Not intuitive in any manner. Please don't confuse customers with your 7 point tiny type saying we're just kidding, you'll really be on an airline of our choice when the day comes!!! but you'll pay the bigger bucks!!! UGH."
