More water walk throughs during the flight. Flight back the seats were tight for my husband who is 6' tall.

No Wi-Fi .. it happens .. ok .. problem de-planeing… had to readjust plane … got us there safely and that’s what really matters to me 🤠

Pros: "I like the ability to have an upgraded seat, and also the staff is very kind and warm"
Cons: "They really need to try and put a passengers with small children or infants in one part of the plane. These parents aren’t held to any modicum of manners or basic respect for the other passengers around them. If I say something I’m the awful person, when I paid the same amount if not more than that awful child who kicked the back of seat and screamed the whole 5 hrs home. I’m not talking new parents navigating a baby and crying, that’s gonna happen. I am talking about the hideous humans who have decide to have children and check out on being a parent. It’s effing miserable."

I appreciate that because sometimes I feel like crew won't say what's really going on to a passenger for what ever reason. It's just a psychology I guess. Not the case here. The woman who waited on me was sympathetic to my diet and had empathy for me. She also gave me a little extra of something they had to ration when first doing diner service. I thought that was sweet. Happy about the blanket provided and pillow"
Cons: "Why on earth would you only offer one choice for a meal??? I don't eat chicken. I feel bad for all the vegetarians and vegans on that flight. Hawaii is a healthy place and should be represented in the meal on the plane. The food was bland and for someone to who doesn't eat a lot of meat it was very disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that there was NO movie on the way there and the in flight entertainment wouldn't work on my computer was really disappointing. Then on the way back I had to pay to watch!? I'm fuming about this. I HATE that airlines are doing this. It is greedy and gross."

The skillfullness of the pilots in avoiding several spots of potential turbulance. Bags arrived promply and without incident. (Thank you!!) HA is generally so much more pleasant than nearly every other US airline; thank you so much!"
Cons: "The very crowded plane with virtually no empty seats... The fees for head-phone sets... The slow-response entertainment system for use by passengers... The limited choice of movies involving non-juvenile topics - would have appreciated at least 4 or 5 films to select from that involved some kind of sophistocated comedy, mixed with a touch of drama or high-quality story line. (Did select "The Big Sick" which was of very high calibre, but no other choices existed that were similar to this style blending comedy with deeper and reflective themes.) The small sizes of the snacks, which were actually very tasty (chicken teriyaki warm sandwich and potato chips)."

Cons: "5.5 hour flight with no entertainment provided. $16 to $18 if you rented an Ipad for 4 hours. There was no option for lunch which was a slimy, tasteless chicken sandwich. No special diet options. 1 bag of chips with the sandwich and late in the flight a 1/2 oz.( yes .5 oz.) bag of snack mix. A 4 oz. glass of water, juice or soft drinks were offered about every hour."

Cons: "HA has older 767s that have few entertainment options for the long flights, bring your own. Honolulu airport is immense and the distance from the gate to the baggage is very long and there is only one small stretch of moving walkway and no assistance carts. If you have trouble walking a mile, get a wheelchair. Same thing at Phoenix terminal 3. Long walk from gate to baggage without any assistance whatsoever."

It was also a very bumpy flight and I would have appreciated if I received more updates from the captain, however, a lot of people were sleeping so that would have been intrusive. I suggest a way for the captain to write a message to passengers updating them on the flight that they can access on the TV so there aren't as many announcements on overhead flights"

For some reason, my seat selections did not communicate with Hawaiian Airlines. As a result, during boarding, I was assigned a random seat. The flight from HNL-PHX was completely full, and I got stuck with a seat which had no windows in the row right in front of the galley and bathrooms. I suggest that Expedia communicate better with HA on seat assignments."

Cons: "The middle aisle section of our plane was quite cold and blankets were expensive $10. Next time I will bring one. I was cold in my jeans and light sweater. The touch-screens at each seat were frustratingly and unpredictably unresponsive. The check-in process in Honolulu Airport for Hawaiian Airlines was hands-down the most time-consuming, confusing, and crowded one I have ever been through. Kiosk screen had too much info at once so even savvy kiosk users were very slow to go through process. We had already checked in online 24 hrs prior but that didnt save us any time as we had to stand in the kiosk lines with everyone else to print our bag tags then another line to just drop our bags. Entering this check-in area was a shock to the system as it looked like a mass of people. We were directed to a vague direction where our line should be, then after standing in that line for 10 minutes we were told by a fellow customer that we had to go to a different line amd basically start over. Then came the security check line. We made it to the front looking the whole time for a designated spot to dump our kids' water bottles out (our San Diego airport has a liquid dumping spot with a sign), to no avail. Finally at the front of the line the TSA agent is about to check our boarding pass and my husband inquires about where to dump the water bottles. The agent and front of the line line is situated less than 10 feet from the wall where a drinking fountain is, but of course in our way there is a plastic half-wall barrier (the one to guide the line toward her). She tells us we have to dump it there in the drinking fountains. However the kicker is we have to get out of line to do it--can't be let out and come back to her. Have to wait in the security check line again. No, I'm not kidding. So I decide to take all water bottles and my husband takes the kids on through the security check. When I come back to get back in the security check line the person working at the entrance of that line actually was asking every single person whether they had water--guess she forgot to ask us the first time we went through... bummer. We had arrived at the airport more than 3 hours before our Tuesday 2pm flight. With stopping to eat lunch in the terminal and going through these multiple lines, by the time we got to our gate, boarding had already begun. Boarding from gate to plane went fine."

Cons: "The airport in Honolulu is too small for the number of tourists going through!! We were TSA precheck and it still took 45 minutes to get through. We went online to choose our seats for our trip home and the site said see agent on arrival to airport so we got to the airport and no agents just the kiosk which assigned our seating ."

I'm okay paying for something like wifi or an iPad, but maybe some heads up when buying a ticket. My Japan Air flight from HI to Japan had great wifi, so don't tell me that over ocean flights don't work. I think they ought to treat the flight as an international flight when it comes to beverage and snacks..."

I asked for something minor on two of the Hawaiian Airlines flight legs on my trip and was told they would come to my seat to see me. (One was for an extra blanket as I had cold air blowing on me and the other was to take my rubbish) They never did. I have never encountered this with any Airline before."

When complaining that it was not said anywhere, the agent put my friend on stand by list and did not say anything... and finally, at the boarding gate, seats where available, no wait list! I booked a direct flight but because a restroom issue, flight stopped and 2-hour delay was added. any movie is the price a movie theater ticket $8! For an 11-hour flight, it could be free or at least few old movies should be available in the complimentary package."
Pros: "I don't have the privilege to fly all the time but this year I was blessed to fly twice. First with another airlines then with Hawaiian. I truly appreciated Hawaiian Airlines over the other airlines. Hawaiians customer service was excellent. Pleasant with lots of Aloha. They were available when we needed them Not only available but willing. The laboratory was nice and clean. The aircraft was comfortable. The food was good. I appreciate the complimentary drinks and snacks. My child enjoyed the variety of movie selections. Our whole experience was wonderful. Late gate change. Delta’s gate 37 is actually gate 24B- of course it is because it’s LAX. Delta staff acts as if 37=24B is the new math and we are stupid to not know this conversion. Delta staff acts surely and borderline hostel. Not sure if this is LAX or Delta’s culture. Either way, it stinks.

Flight was canceled by Delta at the last minute.

The plane was hot. my seatbelt was too small; of the 4 planes we were on on this trip, this was the only belt I had a problem with. The in-flight entertainment screen was not responsive so it was stuck on one movie the entire flight. This experience was very much unlike any other Delta experience.

The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

PHOG airport infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired and even lack back up electrical generators for power outage contingencies that delayed the departure of this flight more than 1.5 hrs. As the gateway to Maui they need a lot of work to meet standards

The airline finally posted that it would depart a 4 PM and we didn't even start boarding until 5PM. Then they tried to rush us on so that everyone was standing on the HOT jetway for 10 min waiting to get on the plane. Plane didn't take off til 5:35 PM. Over all on this trip I had three flights that were delayed. I'll think twice before taking American Air again."

This was all totaled 2.5 hours on the Tarmac. Finally, some 5 hours late we departed Miami in a different plane. Upon arrival in Phoenix, the captain wearily announced that there was no ground crew awaiting us, so we had to wait some time on the tarmac there to disembark. Never before had I heard a airline captain encourage the passengers to write a letter of complaint to his employer."

My seat did not stay either up or down...it kept moving around and would not stay adjusted. However the crew was fantastic and our two female pilots were amazing. Captain Amy touched down in Phoenix was one of the smoothest I have ever experienced."

Cons: "This flight was actually from Denver to Kona. There was 1.5 hour delay due to mechanical issue with plane, so we had to switch gates and planes. That wasn't so bad. What made it bad was an extra 45 minute delay because apparently maintenance forgot to sign off on the new plane. Also, the space below the seat for my feet and carry-on was unacceptable. All the aisle seats like mine had only half the space of the window seats for their feet. If you're in an aisle seat on that plane, it's impossible to fit anything but the size of a small purse under the seat in front of you. And the middle seat fares only a bit better. Finally, with 7 hours of flight time plus about an hour waiting to depart from gate on plane, the crew ignorantly decided to hand out the Hawaii form to fill out within 2 minutes of preparing to land. Many people didn't have time to fill out the form before being required to put tray tables up. Fortunately, these forms aren't as serious as going thru customs, but it's stupid to pass out the forms that late into the flight expecting people to complete them."

There was gum or candy stuck to the floor right were I was supposed to stash my carry on. I pointed it out to the flight attendant and his response was "so you can't put your bag there?" I asked him if he would ruin his bag and put it there and he said "well, you don't know me." What? I had to worry the whole flight about putting my foot on that gooey mess. What did I get for my extra money? Aggravation."

The Chicago to Phoenix had entertainment offered but it there was a fee, which I didn't appreciate and did not take part in. I looked around me as much as possible and didn't see anyone else pay for entertainment. Having in flight movies and TV available for feee is a great incentive for flying with United. If these long flights in the future are pay for view, I will not be flying with you when there are alternative carriers who do provide free entertainment. Thank you."

The glare from the tablet made it impossible for me to sleep or even nap on the flight. I asked the fellow if he would mind dimming the screen but he told me that wasn't possible. If United could put dimmable screens on the tablets it would help create an environment conducive to sleep, which is what most passengers want on a redeye flight. Alternatively, privacy screens would cut down on the shared glare. As it was, the flight was a nightmare."

Finally, I arrived for my flight from San Luis Obispo an hour and 45 minutes early and stood in line to check my small bag for the first 45 minutes. At which point the desk agent made the announcement she would no longer take bags. Luckily my bag was small enough to be considered a carry on so I just went to security. I don't know what people with large bags behind me did? then it takes another 45 mins to get through security at which point they see my 5 inch knife on X-ray machine. Which I packed 3 days earlier when I planned to check my bag. Lost the knife, fine, my fault, goodbye favorite pocket knife. but now I am randomly selected for explosives LOL by TSA. I get to the gate the gate agent scans a ticket for the person infront of me. I step up and the same gate agent puts her hand over the scanner and says sorry it is late!? There were 6 other people behind me and this is a 22 person plane. So I still not upset walk back out of the security area because TSA closes the area in between flights and call United. They get me on the next flight out and rescheduled my following flight only a 3 hour wait. An hour goes by and the first desk agent, they have been holding the first flight because enough people aren't onboard. SLB is a joke."

Cons: "To start the flight was overbooked and they needed several volunteers to stay behind for an alternate flight and there were many passengers upset with this. After we finally boarded we were already 30 minutes late, then sat at the gate another 20 minutes before being pushed back. We then sat in line almost 1 1/2 hours for our turn for deicing and it looked like several other flights got to jump in front of us. After that was done there was a malfunction with some navigation equipment and we had to restart the plane. This did not solve the problem so we had to go back to the gate for a technician to come look at it. We sat there another hour until the problem was resolved. We then had to go through deicing again and finally got to take off over 3 hours late. We should have already landed in our destination by the time we finally took off. At least the captain decided to let us all have complimentary snacks and drinks (which normally don’t come with the flight) because of the long delay. While the flight was less expensive than others, the expensive checked bag fees ($52 each) almost negates the savings compared to other airlines. I’m not sure I will fly this airline again."

Cons: "$100 to check my bag each way (it was just over the weigh limit of 50 or else it would have been $75. My bag was heavy so I get charging extra-prices just seemed a little high. Once we got to gate, the whole vibe and staff changed. Everyone just seemed stressed and grumpy and rushed. We didn't get one smile from any staff member. The positive is that when we got to gate, another flight was arriving and i figured it would take awhile but they had us back on quickly. Downside, I went to get a book and charge my phone and I heard "last call for Phoenix, doors closing" so my daughter and I grabbed our stuff and ran. When we got there, the door was open and they were letting last passenger in. We ran to door and he said "the door is closed, you can't get on. Next flight is tomorrow. I missed it." I answered, "I'm looking at the door and there is someone standing there and going in. It isn't closed." And we argued for a minute or two while someone was holding the door open that I was told was closed. I apologized for missing announcement and said "it was a very quick turnaround. I had no idea you were that fast and it is my fault...but the door is clearly not closed as I am looking at it." The gentlemen standing there holding the door open with the other passenger then closed the door and went In. He did shortly after that let us on but there wasn't one smile anywhere from gate through people we encountered on walkway to the 3 flight attendants we saw as we boarded. We ended up sitting on the ground for 45 minutes before taking off and then I never saw a flight attendant again until we got off flight. They weren't walking aisles. We didn't get a beverage for our two hour flight. They did at one point in the intercom brag about the fastest turnaround time and least in ground time of any airline. I think that goal, though, is being reached at the expense of the customer experience. And what difference does it make if we had plane back out to runway in 15 minutes if everyone was mad and stressed and then we sat for 45 minutes (maybe I'm exaggerating because I'm mad but it was at least 30). I'd prefer an extra 5 to 15 minutes if everyone seemed to be enjoying their jobs and were more concerned about the full experience and not just the record turnaround times!! I like the idea but the implementation seemed too tress ful to make it worth it."

I had to go back to the main terminal to pick up my bags and had to go to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter to rebook and get a refund. The line was so long and slow it would have taken hours to talk to someone from Spirit. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 50 minutes before I could finally get refunded. This made me miss the last Spring Training game in AZ! I've been flying for 35 years and this was the worst flying experience in my life!"

Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse."
Cons: "I don't fly Spirit that much but what I saw looked good, on time at both stops and I especially liked getting on board early as opposed to waiting until 15 minutes before the plane takes off. What I didn't care for, but what I now understand is all the extra specific charges they continue to bombard you with are really charges you don't need. Bottom line for me is that I think I spent more money because I purchased other things and the final price that I paid was MORE then my the conventional favored airline! I will fly Spirit in the future."
Pros: "2 of the flight attendants had a good sense of humor."
Cons: "Flying from Denver to Phoenix, our flight was delayed by 2 hours due to problems with the sanitation system. Flying back home, our flight was delayed 3 hours due to electrical problems! It appears to me they do not keep up with regular mtce. on their planes, as that seems extremely poor. This was the first and LAST time I will fly on Spirit."
Cons: "Having to figure out on my own to check bags days before so I wouldn't get charged a ridiculous amount when I arrived. Wasn't allowed a carry on for free. Be sure to print your boarding pass a day ahead of time or they will even charge you for that! Fly name brand airlines, it will cost the same on the end if not less."
Cons: "Flight delay of three hours was not quick about letting passengers know. Checked bags and carry on bags cost over 50 each. The weight limit was 40 lbs not 50 which was an additional 25 dollars at minimum. Flew with spirit for a discounted flight rate will not fly again because after all the money for bags it cost more than delta which has free bags and complimentary snacks and drinks"
Cons: "We paid $50 to check my wife's bag and they lost it! They also charge you $55 for a carry-on bag. We are only in Arizona for four days and it had everything important in it for us and our baby. The sad thing is that my smaller checked bag was shipped properly but we had nothing important in it. If they hadn't lost our luggage I think my review would be a lot different or our experience would be much better."

Cons: "I did not like the extremely high bag prices and seat prices - outrageous. I have always assumed that when you buy a ticket it entitles you to a seat on the plane. I guess not any more. I had to pay $14 each way. That is just wrong!!! There were a few free seats, but very few and they were taken.. This airline brags about their low ticket prices. They are much higher when you add all the other charges in. I will not travel on this airline again. It is sad how everything is all about gouging the customer for as much money as they can."

Cons: "Tickets are cheap but airline doesn't tell you of all the hidden fees like luggage fee seats etc. Plane had several empty seats yet flight attended didn't let people switch seats."
