Iceland Air equipment crew & service

Hidden charges!!!! I was not advised until I checked in that I had to pay extra $90 for my ONE checked bag. Then, I was told that if I had paid in advance that I could have saved -20%. Then I was told that I would have to pay again on the return. And I could not pay at that time to get any discount on the return baggage charge. So the Kayak ‘discount fare’ wasNO DISCOUNT, only additional restrictions, like inability to select an isle seat for my long legs.

the seats on the plane were so cramped....and I am not a fat or tall person; 5'7" and 130 lbs..... for a 7 hour flight.... I'll avoid booking on this plane..... it was a United Airlines plane btw.....not Lufthansa.

Had a connecting flight, both were with Lufthansa. There was an hour between the two flights. We went straight to security and immediately to the boarding gate but they had closed the gate and would not let us board, even though there was 15 minutes before the flight was due to leave. We were refused a refund and had to move flights to another airport 2 hours away and then had a 5 hour delay. We lost our car reservation as we would arrive too late to collect, we also couldn't check in to our hotel as planned as the hotel only allow check in until 11pm; we would have got there at 1am, so then had to book another hotel for the night. Airport staff at Lufthansa told us they could not help and told us to go away!

The crew was great. I was served by a woman named Lori that was the best flight attendant I have ever encountered. Extremely polite and at tentative to every need. Always asking if everything was alright and how she could make the flight better for me. She took a genuine interest in me and my travels. We engaged in great conversation and she was extremely pleasant. Thank you Lori!

The in flight entertainment on the back seat did not work. Also, I paid over $16 for Internet to work during the flight and it constantly kept dropping signal and connection. The router went in and out all flight. It should have been reimbursed but was never taken care of.

Crew were nice, food on board was ok Given the long wait time at immigration, we did not have to wait for our bags.

Rouge seats are notoriously uncomfortable, especially on a 9 hour flight. Rouge Player entertainment sucks, very poor movie selection. Irish immigration took 45 minutes... a ridiculous amount of time in this day and age. My time with the officer took about 30 seconds, so obviously the problem is that they are understaffed...not the best way to start your trip to Ireland after a long flight!

The premium seating we paid extra for because we need leg room (my partner and I are 6'+) was the first row behind the 1st class seperation wall...so no way to extend legs by placing feet under the seat in front. Not very comfortable or worth $100 IMO.

One flight attendant in particular. Wish I knew her name to commend her. Also, had a bassinet for my grandson!! Frequent beverages offered, especially water. Allowed to move seats once in the air!! Able to help my daughter with her baby. Chicken dish was actually really good.

No movie screens at all!? Odd; especially for an International flight. Check bathroom paper supplies more frequently. Ran out of paper towels two bathrooms. No fault of yours, but the Venice airport was a nightmare. I am use to airports in the US and was shocked how long the line was to get through to our gate. We couldn’t even find the end because it wrapped around like an “S”. Surprised we had to print our boarding pass (but was never asked for it); couldn’t do a mobile boarding pass.

Virgin Atlantic offers good service at a reasonable price to/from the US to London. Good food service and unbelieveable number of movies and entertainment to choose from.

The seating and leg room in economy classic were inadequate. We felt way too confined in our seats and the leg room was a joke. I am only 6' tall and this was unacceptable. We will try to upgrade for the return trip.

Bed was incredibly uncomfortable in first class. It was like sleeping on the floor. People talking loudly in the bar late into the night, which made it even harder to sleep. Didn’t sleep a wink on this 10 hour flight.

The ground staff was on top of it and the boarding process was smooth, but the cabin crew was brilliant. I’ve never had such pleasant service on a western airline. Well done. Entertainment system is top-notch, and the food was acceptable.

The booking process and paying for luggage is disappointing. Plus, I paid a $90 upgrade and just moved up two rows in the same section. Sneaky.

Timely boarding, actual help with finding seats making boarding efficient (not just hurrying you along), updates from the cockpit that you could hear and understand, multiple choices in snacks-one even a healthy option, staff that was friendly and interested in making it a good experience not one that seemed bothered they had to work.

Food was decent and it was nice to have all drinks included (but after the first one you had to go to the galley to get a drink).

Definitely an older plane with very narrow seats and very little legroom compared to other long haul flights that I have been on. They only delivered drinks once and then if you wanted any more you had to climb over people and go to the galley to obtaining yourself. Plane was also very warm so it was hard to get comfortable and there was not much airflow to cool you off.

The crew was kind and patient.

British Airways issued me and several others faulty boarding passes so I could not get through security and had to wait over 6 hours for the ticket counter to open so they could print me a whole boarding pass with a new barcode (I tried calling and they just told me to wait for the ticket counter to open). The emails they sent me with my tickets were all different and confusing, sending to different web pages to retrieve my boarding pass.

The attendants on Austrian air are all very nice and helpful. You can make any request of them or ask any question and they are happy to help. Great customer service. Arrived on time. Also, very good entertainment options!

The seats are very uncomfortable on Austrian air. The only way I would fly them again would be if I had extra money for the exit rows with more leg room. Food isn't great, but no airline food is really great. Boarding was significantly delayed from what it said on the boarding pass, with no updates. But we arrived on time. Getting luggage after flight at Dulles took a really long time, but I think that is more of an airport issue as getting my luggage from another Austrian airlines flight to another airport was a breeze.

The crew and the service was excellent. Dinner was excellent. The hot breakfast never came. We were served a roll and one small cup of coffee with no refills. That was my only complaint. On a long overseas flight I think a hot breakfast would have been better than a roll.

Very kind & courteous staff. Plane was new and very clean, with awesome touch-screens in the back of every seat. The movie and music selection was also excellent. Our flight was only about half-full, so people were able to stretch out in rows of seats.

It would have been nice if IcelandAir provided a meal for this transatlantic flight (or even a little bag of pretzels!), but considering the steal we got for this flight, it wasn't a huge deal. IcelandAir was generally fine. The customs process in Cleveland was atrocious. We had to go through TSA security again even though this was our final destination. Duty free items were not allowed through this security check; fortunately, one of the agents let my husband place our larger-than-3-oz liquids in a bag that was sent to the baggage claim. Especially for travelers like us who had been up for 20+ hours and flown across oceans, this was a source of significant stress and was generally terrible.

Gate check agent went out of her way to accommodate my handicap. Ensured that I boarded early and was given an aisle seat. Flight was smooth, on time and flight attendants were attentive.

Drinks provided free of charge, but not snacks. Also had to pay for ear buds.

Crew arranged to change seats so my left leg had an aisle.

Boarding by groups was not followed, no one to control them, just a rush to gate. No discipline by Iberia. Reserved a seat on aisle of 3 seats side section so my left leg could stretch out after surgery but they changed aircraft type w/ only 2 seats on side without notification, so my right leg had the aisle.

I had a problem finding ticket number for a return ticket. It took an hour at boarding but Iberia rep. found it and saved the day. She really cared and got the job done. Can't say enough about this Argentine rep. Also this was an international flight and they did Not hassle us about the weight of our carry on. Last year Etihad weighed our purses with a bathroom scale at the door of the aircraft. Outrageous. Slowed boarding for over an hour and cost passengers an average of $150 - $320.

Food was terrible all around. Didn't pass out water during 11 hour flight and all the "good" movies didn't load.

flight was delayed two hours because they couldn't find a single American airlines employee to sign off on some log book.sat on tarmac two hours because no one could sign a piece of paper!!! so obviously we missed our connecting international flight to dublin. called american customer svc, they made us call british airways, british airways said we had to call kayak, kayak said we had to call American. thanks for all the great customer svc. this is why everyone hates flying and all airlines are garbage. then finally in chicago american customer svc desk said they rebooked us on a British airways flight the same night, we traversed (ran) the entire chicago ohare airport only to find out british airways said we were not on that flight, were completely full and we had to go back to american. literally had to leave airport to get on train to go back to american terminal. they swear we are now (the next day) on this aer lingus flight despite our inability since last night to try and check in to that flight because aer lingus website doesnt work, no one answers their customer service number and their ticket counter at airport doesnt open until noon. suffice it to say we are still not on a flight to Dublin, ive missed an entire day of a limited vacation, and i will NEVER fly american again.

I took two connecting flights on American Airlines between Los Angeles and Lisbon period on the website American claims to have charging and or electrical ports in every row. There were none on either flight. To make matters worse, when my tablet and phone batteries both died before the end of the first flight, there was no inflight entertainment, other than 1 ridiculous thing available, on either flight. American has switched to BYOD for entertainment, but forgot to provide a way to charge our own devices. Incredibly stupid.

On top of that, one of the flight attendants on the Philadelphia to Lisbon run was a hella snarky guy with a bad attitude all the way through. I would be surprised if I am the first person to complain about him.

The flight crew was phenomenal, especially Daniella. Somehow we wound up with seats right next to the bathroom door, which would have been a pretty uncomfortable situation for a variety of reasons, but the flight wasn't full, and she helped us find a suitable place to sit. Also, my wife and I usually take our tea with honey vs. milk and sugar. Even though honey is usually one of the options for tea, she found a way to accommodate our request. The lunch meals were the best I can remember in a long time on an airline flight. They might have been the best I've ever had. The chicken curry was authentic, flavorful and spicy. Frankly my outbound flight had problems. My luggage got damaged. The transfer experience in Manchester left a LOT to be desired. I wasn't planning to use Virgin Atlantic again, but this flight crew (Daniella especially) redeemed Virgin Atlantic. They were attentive, pleasant, diligent.

Only thing I didn't like about this flight was the boarding area. Once you get into that the area, you don't really have access to appetizing food (only vending machines) or even restrooms. That's one thing that could be improved.

Virgin Atlantic offers good service at a reasonable price to/from the US to London. Good food service and unbelieveable number of movies and entertainment to choose from.

The seating and leg room in economy classic were inadequate. We felt way too confined in our seats and the leg room was a joke. I am only 6' tall and this was unacceptable. We will try to upgrade for the return trip.

Very kind & courteous staff. Plane was new and very clean, with awesome touch-screens in the back of every seat. The movie and music selection was also excellent. Our flight was only about half-full, so people were able to stretch out in rows of seats.

It would have been nice if IcelandAir provided a meal for this transatlantic flight (or even a little bag of pretzels!), but considering the steal we got for this flight, it wasn't a huge deal. IcelandAir was generally fine. The customs process in Cleveland was atrocious. We had to go through TSA security again even though this was our final destination. Duty free items were not allowed through this security check; fortunately, one of the agents let my husband place our larger-than-3-oz liquids in a bag that was sent to the baggage claim. Especially for travelers like us who had been up for 20+ hours and flown across oceans, this was a source of significant stress and was generally terrible.

Gate check agent went out of her way to accommodate my handicap. Ensured that I boarded early and was given an aisle seat. Flight was smooth, on time and flight attendants were attentive.

Drinks provided free of charge, but not snacks. Also had to pay for ear buds.

Had a connecting flight, both were with Lufthansa. There was an hour between the two flights. We went straight to security and immediately to the boarding gate but they had closed the gate and would not let us board, even though there was 15 minutes before the flight was due to leave. We were refused a refund and had to move flights to another airport 2 hours away and then had a 5 hour delay. We lost our car reservation as we would arrive too late to collect, we also couldn't check in to our hotel as planned as the hotel only allow check in until 11pm; we would have got there at 1am, so then had to book another hotel for the night. Airport staff at Lufthansa told us they could not help and told us to go away!

The crew was great. I was served by a woman named Lori that was the best flight attendant I have ever encountered. Extremely polite and at tentative to every need. Always asking if everything was alright and how she could make the flight better for me. She took a genuine interest in me and my travels. We engaged in great conversation and she was extremely pleasant. Thank you Lori!

The in flight entertainment on the back seat did not work. Also, I paid over $16 for Internet to work during the flight and it constantly kept dropping signal and connection. The router went in and out all flight. It should have been reimbursed but was never taken care of.

the seats on the plane were so cramped....and I am not a fat or tall person; 5'7" and 130 lbs..... for a 7 hour flight.... I'll avoid booking on this plane..... it was a United Airlines plane btw.....not Lufthansa.

Prior flight from Zagreb to Munich was delayed 1 hour due to inclement weather - not the airline's fault. However although I made my connecting flight, my suitcase didn't. I'm writing this the next day & waiting for my suitcase to be delivered.

There was no announcement about the delay & the reason why. We found out by reading the board. The passengers found out from each other what caused the delay. Passengers would experience less anxiety if they were informed what's going on.
