On both flights the crew was extremely friendly, fun and accommodating. Both flights took off on time and our flight home landed 45 minutes early!
The seats are not the most comfortable. You do have to watch out for all the added fees: checked bags, carryon bags, seats (you actually have to pay separately for your seat), food, drinks, etc.. When comparing costs - you need to add everything up. In our case, Frontier was still around $150 less than Delta. But don't be fooled by the low fare when you still have to buy a seat and pay for baggage.
The ease of booking and picking seats were great. I also like checking in via the app.
don't mind paying for snacks, that's totally fine. In fact, the prices weren't extravagant, so that was totally acceptable. I don't REALLY even mind paying the baggage fee for a carry on as long as the rules are enforced, but there were people who were BLATANTLY over the size limit who hadn't paid, which seems unfair when I paid $36. The reason I know they didn't pay??? They were MY traveling companions. I can only imagine if they did it, then many other people did it as well. So the money is no big deal when the flight is so inexpensive, but the baggage policy needs to be kept fair. I could barely fit the bag I paid for to be in the overhead storage, b/c backpacks, jackets, and purses were crowding the bin.
Boarding was easy. clean plane, crew was very friendly. I was very concerned though, when we banked left and did a complete circle in the air. An explanation from the captain would have been terrific. I made sure I was the last one to leave the plane and asked him about it when I saw him at the exit. He told me what happened but I would have liked to know while it was happening. Besides that, the coke and pretzels were divine. :)
Having flown multiple times on Frontier, I find it odd that you never hear anything from the cockpit. Like: Welcome passengers. estimated time in flight, crusing altitude, estimated arrival time, weather at destination, starting decent, etc. Of course, as an ex-military and corporate aviation pilot, the more I know the more comfortable and connected I feel.
I liked that my luggage didn't get lost and nothing was broken
Flight was delayed 3 hours. Almost got delayed another hour because the captain requested an unnecessary inspection of the airplane, cancelled it after everyone threw a fit. Seats are suuuper cramped. Don't recline. No free food or drink. Charged for overhead storage
Be aware that you will spend roughly an additional $100 round trip at a minimum in order to fly Frontier, for seat fees (there are no fee-free options) and all of your bags, checked or otherwise. Given that if you don't know this ahead of time, you'll find out when you go to check in, this can feel as if they are holding your already paid tickets hostage until you pay additional fees. It also raises the ticket prices by $100+, making frontier more expensive than other options without such fees.
Also, if you have a delayed flight, do not expect any help or information from frontier. It is now a bare bones operation.
It is fine if you take the fees into account ahead of time and don't have any delays.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us, please send us an
