Pros: "One helpful person at baggage check."
Cons: "We arrived early at recommended time. The line was so long that by the time our family of 6 reached the front, they had put us on standby for 8 hours later, then that flight was delayed. SunCountry owes me not only what I paid for tickets, but also for my PTO used, my spouse’s PTO and the expenses incurred which include food and the UBer because the car rental will be closed by the time we arrive. This may include the extra expense now of a hotel night at our destination. I could not be more disgusted."
Cons: "Long check-in line Bag was lost"
Cons: "The plane was very cold."
Cons: "Bring back your bigger seats. Please."
Cons: "The entertainment website appeared to be down"
Pros: "Flight attendants worked the plane efficiently and were very attentive."
Pros: "The seats are closer together - by my measurement 10 in between the back of the sone in front of me and my armrest. Luggage is checked luggage is $25; on my flight to Minneapolis, my luggage was lost for 30 hrs and wet on the inside when my daughter picked it up the next afternoon. It was not raining when our flight took off from NYC. The seats seem thinner on the cushion and if someone puts their seat in front of you, even slightly, it is very cramped. The flight was about 1/2 hour late taking off with what I counted as at least 10 planes ahead of us - most domestic - SW, other SunCountry and Delta. I have flown Sun Country periodically for the last 10 years. Now, I am done for all the reasons listed above. I have flown on other airlines this year and other than Alaska this was the least comfortable - actually it occured to me in an emergency it would have been very difficult to get out of my row. I understand this is a business - just not interested in buying from it."
Pros: "Even though we departed a little late, we arrived close to on time."
Pros: "Good value for the price."
Cons: "the crew did not announce where baggage pick-up was, so all of us had to race around trying to find it. The airport staff didn't know either."
Cons: "On July 7th, I was flying from JFK to MSP and then from MSP to PDX. Somewhere on the way, Sun Country Airlines lost my bag and they don't seem to have any idea where it might be. I was forced to spend my entire vacation without my bag. It's been 16 days, we called the baggage services office several times, wrote e-mails, even talked to someone in person in the MSP office and yet nobody's able to help. All we got were promises for a call back about the status of the claim, but nobody ever calls or responds to e-mails. I'm extremely disappointed and will call DOT and FAA if I don't get a response very soon."
Pros: "Desk staff member very helpful When departures was busy more staff were called immediately"
Cons: "Difficult to navigate online payment for extra baggage. Inconsistency about carry on sizes We paid for extra leg room in an exit row and we're given a very brief safety talk while 2 others asked to sit in an exit row and were given no instructions"
Pros: "I got from point A to B on a non-stop flight. Desk staff and flight attendants were polite and accommodating."
Cons: ""Lowest fairs!!" and then on check in they nickel and dime you with extra costs for even a carry on AND to choose a seat that you already bought!! I mean, you don't have to. You could always just wait until check in at the airport and get thrown into a middle seat. Saving extra money was what pushed me over the edge here, but after all the fees after booking was paid for and experience, I would have gladly paid the extra money to fly Alaska Airlines. Also, you would think on a 5.5 hr flight that occurs over/near dinner time there would be more food options than just snack packs. Even that was mediocre."
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "I paid for my ticket, but when I went to check in the day before my flight there were fees I had to pay that I was not aware of and had no choice but to do so. They do not offer and free carryon bag. If you pay online you have to pay an extra $30 for a carryon item or $20 for a checked bag. These fees apply to your destination and your flight home as well. On top of that, you have to pay for your seat. All in all I was not happy with my experience with sun country. I am normally not someone who writes poor reviews, but this was definitely the worst airline I’ve ever used."
Pros: "Like the direct flight and flying out of Terminal 2 in MSP. Very pleasant flight crew!"
Cons: "Leg room just keeps shrinking. I’m 5’2” and can’t imagine what it’s like for those > 6 feet tall! Would also love some snack for free. It can’t cost that much!"
Pros: "The crew on the ground and sky were amazing. Everyone i talked to was kind and understanding while dealing with a difficult situation."
Cons: "Ultimately, sun country could of communicated better all around. Was not informed that the flight was delayed until I checked into airport/ even though we were told that the airline knew that the plane was late “all day.” Arrived for a 3:50 flight and did not take off till after 9. Furthermore, there was limited communication regarding when we would actually take off. Checking-in I was informed boarding would start at “6:40” and then we did not board until 830-9."
Pros: "Flights were on-time, boarding process organized, flight attendants friendly, smooth flight"
Cons: "on line system wouldn't let me pay for my baggage pre-flight (entered info 5x so I had to call, wait 30" for call back, went through just fine over phone. confusion x2 in baggage claim with delays, mix-ups carousels could easily put my bag under the seat in plane #1 but it wouldn't fit under the seat in plane #2 (space size definitely smaller)"
Pros: "Just the seat that are comfortable"
Cons: "The crew is really rude, seems they hate the job working with different people. this was my first time in this particular airline and I am will make sure will be the last one. terrible service."
Pros: "The way they treat the passengers with care."
Cons: "there was no entertainer Chennel"
Cons: "We had to change our tickets from Tuesday to Friday our mother was put in hospice. But she passed away on Monday and we were able to change tickets back to Tuesday but we’re not refunded our 400.00 dollars!"
Pros: "I reallly liked the comfort. Plenty of room in overheads even though the fight was full. Crew delivered right away and provided good service. Great comfort."
Cons: "No wi-if and too expensive for the quality of the video players. No healthy food choices."
Cons: "Flight was 2:00 hours late, which felt even longer because my in-bound flight on Thursday was 1:30 hours late. They didn't really explain why it was late. They just said "traffic in the NYC area," which could mean anything. I didn't get a ticket until the gate, which I hate. And because the flight was delayed, I never got a ticket until we boarded. The only good thing was they gave me an exit row, which was comfortable and allowed me to get on the plane first. But that was just luck. Probably not flying Sun Country again."
Cons: "I tried to pre select a seat online. The seating chart indicated that the flight was full and only few middle seats and aisle seats were available. The middle seats were free but the aisle seats cost $15. I'm a big guy so I paid the $15. When I got on the flight I learned the flight wasn't full and there were plenty of seats available. I thought there must be a mistake so I tested it on the way back to L.A. from Minneapolis. I got the same email encouraging me to get my seat early and check in online. The seating chart indicated that the flight was full and only a few middle seats and aisle seats were available. So instead of checking in online I waited to do it at the counter. Sure enough the lady at checkin told me there was plenty of seats and even offered me and my travel companions a whole row so we could sit together. I feel like Sun Country is misleading their customers in order to make a few extra bucks. Lame!"
Cons: "My flight was canceled for unknown reasons."
Pros: "They tried to separate me from my son in order to accommodate a passenger using a wheel chair. I accidently found out just before boarding. My son was NOT having it!! They changed our seats, putting us together again, without a problem or negative attitude. Total professionalism in an awkward situation!"
Pros: "Never had a bad experience on Sun Country. Had plenty of horrible experiences on the majors (talking about you, Delta and United). Pleasant flight, nothing fancy. Unlike Spirit, there's reasonable leg room, and your seats actually recline."
Pros: "Flight there&home had a very nice young man/lady get me set up with ticket and boarding pass"
Cons: "Getting searched like a criminal on the way there. Young lady gave me the fast lane home. They treated me like a human being"
Pros: "I went from Minneapolis to Vegas in 3 hours which is way better than a 24 hour drive."
Cons: "No snacks."
Pros: "The boarding method went the quickest of all flights I've been on for both flights. Check-in in MSP was quick and some of the attendants were friendly based on what I overheard. Staff in SAN was friendly."
Cons: "A new mom was in the aisle walking to keep her baby quiet and to stretch her legs (after the drink, snack, and trash carts had gone by) and had her back to a flight attendant also coming down the aisle. She was talking to another parent on the flight when the attendant came behind her and told the woman, "Excuse me. Some of us are still working." Her tone was suuuuper rude and uncalled for. A friendly "excuse me, please" would have been just fine and would have gotten the job done. I went to the bathroom a couple minutes later and the attendant was on her break and eating, so maybe she was hangry, but still! Seats were uncomfortable on both flights, but not as bad as Spirit Airlines. I had bad low back pain afterwards, even after getting up to walk partway through the flight. This is something I've experienced on a couple other airlines too, but the legroom on planes has gotten worse. For those of us with long legs, it's a huge pain. I'm 5'9", so I can't imagine how it is for someone taller. The legroom on Sun Country was just as bad as other flights. Probably a strange complaint, but the seat back pocket had a bar running in the hem, so when I put my water bottle inside, the entire pocket stuck out as far as my water bottle. This meant I had to choose between having the pocket rub against my knees or hold my water bottle between my thighs. Neither were ideal. The check-in in San Diego was painfully slow. There were three people standing there, but only one person seemed to be checking people in. The staff was friendly here. A Sun Country employee at MSP told a man he had to check his carry-on suitcase because the wheels stuck out of Sun Country's tiny metal carry-on test box a CENTIMETER. I kid you not. Absolutely ridiculous. I saw much larger luggage come onto the flight. The woman who checked me in was quick but I wasn't able to ask any questions before being sent away. No free snacks or entertainment which seem to be included on most other similarly priced airlines. The food for purchase (burgers and Jimmy Johns or something) made the plane smell bad. I asked for coffee with cream and sugar as my complimentary drink and was given the powdered creamer packets. Fine, okay, I understand if that's all they have, but then I saw them walking through the aisle later offering coffee and they had creamer cups in their aprons! No one asked me which kind I wanted. :("
Pros: "Boarding was fast and easy"
Cons: "The flight attendants were very attentive"
Cons: "Check in 55 min befor flight was told to late bought ticket on southwest person was rude snobby arrogant and enjoyed telling me book another flight"
Pros: "Not using sun country"
Cons: "Having to deal with the ridiculously uneducated employees at the check in desk to get a new flight."
Pros: "It was a direct flight."
Cons: "We were late departing and arriving, which created a problem for a meeting I had to attend. On top of already being late the exiting of the aircraft was poor. No announcement was made for wheel chair people to wait until the end, and naturally held up the exiting of the aircraft. This was my first experience on Sun Country and the flight attendants allowed people to use the bathroom in the front of the aircraft, but at hour 3.00 when i walked up to use it - i was then told to go to the back. After I watched many people for HOURS freely use it. Not just when the cart was in the aisle either. Just not consistent in their directions and follow through making it confusing for passengers. There was no wifi, so I couldn't work and there was no entertainment on board. I won't be flying Sun country again."
Cons: "getting onto bus, riding around tax I ways and run ways to het to terminal without escalator , old people had to climb stairs, added an hour to flight time."
Cons: "When checking in our luggage the woman asked several times how many bags and we responded several times 2.my self and my wife. My wife even held up her hand indicating she was checking her bag. The woman charged me the initial bag fee of 25.00 then charged me again for an additional bag at 35.00. That was wrong since there was 3of us flying."
Pros: "Staff were very accommodating, seats are comfortable, handheld entertainment device with movies and tv shows available for $8"
Cons: "Following boarding there was an issue with flight deck, and entire plane had to deplane and board (using same multi-tiered boarding system) another plane"
Pros: "Plane arrived on time."
Cons: "The seats were bit hard."
Pros: "Sun Country air is great. I'd take them again. Our flight got delayed at our start point and when we got to Minneapolis for our connecting flight, they held all the applicable connecting flights for us. That's something that no other airline will so. I haven't had that happen since the 80's! The staff was pleasant too. An all over great airline"
Cons: "Had a rehearsal dinner for a wedding to attend I missed because of a delayed flight"
Pros: "It was a smooth check in and the flight times were accurate. This flight had less passengers so we had more room in between passengers."
Pros: "Nice flight attendants."
Cons: "The flight was about an hour late taking off and boarding was interrupted part way through the process so there were some people sitting in the plane for all this time and some people sitting inside the airport boarding area for all this time. No explanation whatsoever was given about what was going on. The aisles on the plane were so narrow that I could just barely roll my carry-on bag down it. The head of the guy sitting in front of me was almost in my lap. I couldn't even lower my tray table all the way down to a flat position to set my beverage upon because his seat was so close to mine. When the flight was almost to its destination, we had to circle the airport for awhile because Obama was landing at this time too. We were never told of this possibility until it actually happened. Why not ? We arrived about an hour and a half later than our scheduled time. With all these inconveniences to us, absolutely nothing complimentary was given to us passengers to make up for their incompetence and how our travel plans may have been disrupted. This was a bad experience and my last with Sun Country."
Cons: "I fell asleep on the flight and the flight attendant woke me up in a relatively impolite way , took my drink without letting me finish ( was parched!) and did not act apologetic at all . I understand the need to prepare for landing quickly, but tact in waking up passengers and in communication is always appreciated ."
Pros: "I liked the time and direct flight from MSP to Boston."
Cons: "From the time we were waiting for the plane, the attendants at the airport gate came across rude / and threatening when asking for people to check their carry-ons. While we had no carry-ons it was very striking as I have never heard this kind of communication in decades of traveling with different airlines. While on the plane, we sat in the absolute back seat, and also caught "attitude" of attendants when they communicated to one another about the carry-ons they were holding for the agent. Eye-rolling and tone. These frustrations should not be aired to customers."
Pros: "it was great experience , i was offered a first class upgrade at a very reasonable price,,"
Pros: "With no additional charge Sun Country gave me a free upgrade to first class, an amazing experience that really brightened my day! On top of perks like a tasty breakfast consisting of a chicken feta and mushroom omelette, pastry and fresh fruit, the staff was absolutely amazing and all of my needs were taken care of before I knew I even needed anything. Really, it was such a fantastic experience!"
Cons: "I have no complaints"
Pros: "Never flown Sun Country before and was impressed by the crew's efficiency and demeanor."
Cons: "Seats don't go back and you have to pay for the use of a movie entertainment center."
Pros: "food was good"
Cons: "the seat was very uncomfortable"
Pros: "I couldn't connect to the server to book our seats and prepay our luggage for 3 of us going. I emailed Sun Country, and someone really did call me back and took care of everything for me, I was very happy!! Thank you."
Pros: "Crew was fine, and the flight was on time."
Cons: "Their site was down and I called to check in and to get a reserved seat, I was told that because the website was down I needed to be there 2 hours prior to my flight and there was no exceptions. I was not able to check in and had to risk not being there on time because of their lack of planning."
Pros: "I liked getting to board first because I volunteered to have my carry on taken as a checked bag."
Cons: "I didn't like the amount of space I had. But that can be expected, so not a big deal."
Pros: "The boarding order was good. I liked that those who voluntarily gate checked their bag were boarded first. Even though I did not do this this time. It seemed fair and a nice thank you."
Cons: "My seat was broken; it would not remain upright. In addition the seats were rather uncomfortable."
Cons: "The flight was delayed."
Pros: "Speedy boarding. Helpful crew."
Cons: "In-flight entertainment"
Pros: "nothing. Plane never left."
Cons: "Airlines that actually fly. We ended up renting a car and driving the 3.5 hours from Charlotte to Savannah and actually beat the flight that finally left after 11 pm and landed 1 am. We should have gotten the car much sooner and driven instead of sitting at the airport for 8 hours."
Cons: "I've flown American airlines twice this year. The service and flights have been very good. One thing I'd like to see is a variety of snack options."
Cons: "Because of 12 hr between original flight and this flight, we drive"
Pros: "Crew was great. Made sure I made my connection. Even tried to get me a better placement so I could quickly exit and head to my next flight."
Cons: "It wa super cold on my second flight. Small plane, rather loud."
Cons: "Overall terrible experience, flight attendant was extremely rude when i asked if they were offering sparkiling wine. Flight was delayed due to overbooking on american. Turbulence was horrible the entire flight. The in flight entertainment was unavailable for some reason."
Cons: "My original flight was delayed then we had to spend the night in Dallas."
Cons: "No legroom in 17 E"
Cons: "The security check line was about a mile long at the Terminal 1, but that's not the airline's fault."
Pros: "Everyone was super friendly. The plane was clean and comfortable and the food was great for airplane food."
Pros: "Once aboard, LATAM is actually quite impressive. The logistical part of the company is horrendous, but the service onboard is exemplar."
Cons: "LATAM changed my itinerary without my authorization and despite my clear verbal directions to NOT change it. The airline took directions from a corrupt official with the Colombian immigration office and cancelled my return flights. I was forced to purchase an additional ticket, travel on and separate flight from my wife and children. I then had to spend several hours waiting to resolve the case in person. The customer service at LATAM is a joke. If I'd received this treatment in the United States, I would have filed a lawsuit for their infringement on my rights and collaboration with the discriminatory practices of the Colombian immigration office in Bogota."
Pros: "Flight was smooth"
Pros: "The crew on the plane was lovely."
Cons: "Waiting for maintenance, leaving late, running through the airport. No help from airport staff. They really seemed like that they didn’t care a bit if people made there flights. We barely made our connection to London. People who are 59 should NOT have to run through a huge airport! We spent a lot of money and planned this trip for nearly a year. There were no updates from Kayak. I will use Expedia from now on."
Cons: "AA lost put my checked baggage onto a different flight during my layover in Philly to my final destination. After losing my baggage, it took them over 24 hours to return it to me, telling me that it would only be "another hour" till they would deliver it to my house. No airline is perfect, but I don't like being lied to about my baggage not being transferred properly to my final flight, nor do appreciate how they kept giving me vague estimates and round-a-bout answers about my checked bag which they lost in the first place. If I can help it, I will never fly with American Airlines again; they have lost my business!"
Pros: "Being able to check flight progress while in the air."
Cons: "We did not appreciate the game of needing to pay for seat selection after having already paid for tickets. We were not provided with TSA-PRE despite providing our known traveler numbers in advance. Boarding selection protocol seemed opaque, complex, and geared towards inviting us to pay extra for priority boarding. Before boarding the plane, we were not able to find out whether any food would be served and the extent of what might be provided. After getting on board, we were offered the chance to buy food. The complementary food was a cookie and a few ounces of soda or juice. Movies were available, but not headphones for listening to them. Leg space under the seat in front of us was reduced to make room for life vests."
Cons: "Bathrooms didn't work delaying initial departure an hour. Ran to connecting flight and made it prior to door being closed. 12 passengers in total were told that we would be boarded and then were abrubly told none would be boarding our final leg to the Caymans even though our seats were available. Horrible company culture not focused on customers."
Cons: "Delayed, old aircraft, no food, no entertainment"
Cons: "was seated between 2 to very overweight persons, the person in the aile side, extrememly heavy needed extension belt, plus removing the arm rest next to me and using great part of my seat. not a very comfortable situation and the plane was FULL, no empty seats"
Pros: "Wider seats."
Cons: "The flight was delayed and my luggage is coming in the later flight. I need some form of consolation for this pathetic service."
Cons: "I left an expensive Bose head set in my seat that could not be found....or did smobody decide it was better in their possession.?"
Pros: "Timely and comfortable flight!"
Cons: "Arrived 1 hr before my flight and they wouldn't check me in. I believe they overbook the flight and turn customer down. They even gave me hard time during rebooking us. Never again."
Pros: "Flight was delayed. No food offered."
Pros: "straight through flight no connection. Crew was friendly and smiled."
Cons: "I do not like that you have to pay to choose a decent seat. Our flight was slightly delayed in boarding, and was not communicated."
Cons: "Boarding was delayed 30 minutes, with no explanation. Upon arrival, another airplane was in our gate, resulting in an additional 30 minute wait, buckled in my seat on the tarmac."
Pros: "It was a small plane so I didn't expect much. The attendants were a little disconnected for it being a three hour flight."
Pros: "Boarding was easy and flights were on time."
Cons: "Crew could have been a little more friendly and the planes were a bit dated...although I know AA is in the process of replacing their fleet."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled we were re-routed and didn't get there until 24hours later."
Pros: "Quick board and exit, fast check-in"
Cons: "Wi-Fi onboard free for all T Mobile customers, cramped seat room for a smaller adult even"
Pros: "Staff was friendly"
Cons: "Cabin was cold and no blankets available."
Pros: "Nothing exceptional"
Cons: "Change fees are ludicrous. Also flight was late."
Pros: "No much"
Cons: "What poor services all round. The check in staff where on the phone or talk to themselves. No one even spoke to me at checkin. Then the boarding staff were so rude, they act like they own the plane and they are god. They would not answer anyone questions and just pointed at the screen. The airplane staff hello at least. But the food very so bad, even easyjet has better food. Also their understanding for the english was so poor but the air stewardess told me " we speak American" !!!!"
Pros: "I was traveling with a pet and they were very kind and helpful to me."
Pros: "The seats in this flight were quite roomy."
Cons: "Delayed and canceled flights with no apologies or explanations, rude crews who scoffed at complaints or requests of other passengers, lost baggage that took hours to recover, again without apology....I would rather pay a bit more than fly with American again, at least until these memories fade a bit."
Cons: "When I booked my flight, I used Kayac like I always have in the past. To begin with, I selected several flights that were listed, only to have it tell me that this flight is no longer offered, which I assume is engineered to get me to select a more expensive flight. Once I finally found a flight that was still available, I selected it and began the process of providing information and selecting seat assignments. On 2 of the 4 legs of the round trip, there were no more seats available except for upgrade seats, which resulted in an extra $100.00+ in charges. Then when I finished the transaction, I noticed an extra $200.00 charge added. End result was that I ended up paying over double what I would normally pay for this same round trip that I have made many many times. I feel, no I know, that some customer relations person will look at this comment and reply with a pre-generated response apologizing and hoping I have a better experience in the future and thank me for using Kayac. Big companies like yours look at one customer as no big deal. I'm a Physician and have the ability to reach out to multitudes. I'm going to make it my mission in life to reach out to as many people as I can through word of mouth, signs in my office, Internet and social media to let them know about the deplorable practices of your company."
Pros: "Pretzels and drinks."
Cons: "The group's for boarding are ridiculous. The back of the plane should board first and so on... the new plane we flew on had the smallest seats we've ever seen. When we tried to board, the crew would rudely say, it's not your turn. We were flying for a funeral and paid a lot for our tickets. We should be treated with respect. One lady said to put our luggage in the first available compartment, then when we tried, another lady rudely said, if that's not where you're sitting, you can't put your bag there. We were embarrassed and when we tried to explain what we'd been told she told us to keep moving."
Cons: "Paying extra for seating"
Pros: "boarding was well organized and flowed well crew was nice and courteous"
Cons: "Seats seem quite narrow standard fare of biscuits to go with drink"
Pros: "Crew was nice, drinks"
Cons: "Ended up landing in Oklahoma, no hotel available even with the voucher, no food in airport,"
Pros: "Other passengers trying to make light of hectic situation."
Cons: "Delayed because crew was not able to get to the gate in time. Once they arrived they got things moving but passengers were already flustered and the airline stewards also seemed flustered, their attempts and multiple announcements to move people faster did not help and actually made things move slower..."
Pros: "I was in group 2"
Pros: "I was in a regular seat, but had more leg room than other airlines I've flown recently. I always put my bacpack and purse under the seat in front of me. On JetBlue and Frontier, I have to pull out the back pack during the flight to stretch my legs out, but not on either of these flights. This survey rates entertainment, but there was none. For me that's a great thing (I bring my own), so None gets the 5-star rating for my purposes. Uneventful flights--on time even with a short delay taking off out of MSP."
Pros: "Clean plane very spacious"
Cons: "Flight attendance was been rude he offer food everyone except me when I ask if I could get a drink he was making all this face like not wanting to give me anything"
Pros: "I arrived at the airport and the guy wouldn't let me board my flight so I lost my money. Im a new person that just started flying. I did like this Carrier but as of yesterday I'd rather use Delta for now on. So im still at home and didnt get a chance to make it to work."
Pros: "FLIGHT WAS QUICKER"
Cons: "FLIGHT GATE CHANGED FROM TICKET, COUNTER BOARDING WAS "UN-ACCOMODATING"."
Cons: "Seats are VERY uncomfortable. Staff is not really friendly. First time on Frontier, I will try to avoid it if I can"
Pros: "Everything was great except the long delays. We were suppose to leave at 206 but the flight kept getting delayed. I understand delays but it would have been nice if someone would have told us why. There was no one at the desk for a long time. But once we were on the plane and in the air everything was great."
Pros: "Flight was shorter than planned, that’s always a treat. No delays or hiccups."
Cons: "Two of the crew in the back were very unprofessional. Sarcastic, immature and I heard way too much of their personal conversation and I had head phones on"
Pros: "I paid 270$ extra for the carry on bags for the three tickets. If I knew that I would have chosen United tickets because they would be cheaper."
Cons: "Kayak you guys fooled me and I’ll not trust you again."
Pros: "I flew for 3 hours and landed safely"
Cons: "Everything else, paying $40 each way for carry on, paying additional amount for selecting a seat, no one even offered a cup of water for three hours, can of soda 2.99. Complete rip off. Worst travel thus far for me."
Cons: "I was sitting near the front, (row 5) and wanted a cup of coffee. The stewardess served the seats in front of me total of 3 cups of coffee. When she got to me, she said there was not any more coffee available!!! So... why do you make less than one pot of coffee on each of your flights? This was really weird!"
Pros: "The crew on my flight from Minneapolis to Denevr was funny and warm and friendly and really amusing. I believe their names were Chris and Tate (I might have his name wrong) . Thank you, Tate, for being such a funny and entertaining person on what would otherwise have been a very boring flight. I hope he's on my next flight with Frontier."
Cons: "The seats are uncomfortable."
Pros: "They cancelled last minute and I was forced to buy a last minute ticket on a different airline"
Pros: "Yes, on Frontier you have to pay for any extras - more cushy seats, baggage beyond carryons you can fit under the seat, beverages, food, etc. However, the price of the flight is worth it, even if you add on baggage charges. And a direct flight is priceless."
Cons: "We were a little late boarding, but still made it to Houston on time, so not a big deal, and often unavoidable."
Pros: "Left on time"
Cons: "We arrived and had to wait 20 minutes for a gate. After making to the gate we went to baggage claim and waited 45 minutes because they did not know where our bags went. I missed my scheduled shuttle to Fort Collins due to the wait for my bags, it has ruined my whole day."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Charging for the carry on and shipped bag was a very unpleasant surprise at check-in. The non-reclining seats were terribly uncomfortable. All of my flights were delayed for one reason or another. Charging for sodas was unexpected. I was very disappointed in this flight and I will never book a flight with Frontier again due to these negative experiences. There are many choices for airlines and Frontier really let me down."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled. No one was notified until after we arrived at the airport. The ticket agent informed all the passengers. Wasn't until later that we received emails. Frontier provided us with phone number to assist in re-booking. Call center was not open or manned and were told to call back later."
Cons: "The check in counter wasn't opened or staffed until 8:25am when our flight was at 10:10am. The line was incredibly long because of this. The staff was very unfriendly and they were not helpful at all."
Pros: "low price"
Cons: "seats did not recline"
Pros: "The flight was too noisy and took too long for us to get off"
Cons: "Seats didn't lay back and had to pay for carry on luggage"
Cons: "Long wait on tarmac at Denver - Frontier Airlines really down hill with fees for carry on and being able to pick your seat. Flying on Frontier is like riding on an old greyhound bus."
Cons: "I ended up paying over 180% of my ticket price for this trip because of extra fees. No thanks, Frontier. I'll fly other airlines where the cost of the trip is clear from the start."
Cons: "Delayed both in Mpls and Denver!"
Cons: "Be careful flying budget airlines. Their gate options are few if something goes wrong."
Cons: "i did not receive the option of a beverage. I sat in the rear of the plane, and by the time the crew was near me, there was not any more time to allow the option of a beverage."
Pros: "The airfare was reasonable, and boarding was fairly quick."
Cons: "Paying $40 dollars for a checked bag is ridiculous and $45 for a carry-on is high way robbery. They need to revamp their baggage policies. The baggage prices will prevent me from flying with this airline in the future."
Pros: "slightly less expensive than normal airlines, but not more that $30 less. I arrived at my destination in one piece."
Cons: "By the time I had paid for the flight and baggage, I almost had paid for the American Airlines flight that was also available. The flight was delayed for multiple hours due to mechanical issues. I think it was the worst landing I've ever experienced. For the inconvenience of our long delay, Frontier gave us vouchers, but there is a long list of restrictions: must be used within 90 days, cannot be used to pay for the entire fare, etc. I find the voucher to be an insult."
Pros: "clean plane"
Cons: "I haven't flown Frontier in a while. I didn't realize I have to buy my seat too? What the heck is that? Sure it's only another $13 min. But here's the catch, you get a seat They've replaced the pull down table with a small flip down "table" that is about 1/3 the size of a standard table. While this does offer more legroom, it makes eating difficult and uncomfortable. I could not rest a standard square salad container on it during the flight. Luckily, I had a plastic bag from the vendor that I could put over my slacks to act as a big placemat. I didn't want to spill dressing on my pants. No WIFI onboard In short, I will be avoiding Frontier in the future. I do fly budget airlines like SW, but at least the attitude there is better. And what you get is clear."
Pros: "The price was cheap."
Cons: "It was unclear that you needed to pay a fee for a carry on bag with this airline."
Pros: "Horrible never again use frontier airline"
Pros: "I liked having a seat between me and the other passenger"
Cons: "Seats don't rcline, extra fees for seat selectin, carryon, food or drink, dirty plane, bored and slobby cabin personnel, late."
Cons: "Probably one of the worst airlines as far as customer service. The flight got cancelled on Wednesday and the next available flight option was on Sunday night with over night layover!!! Then after 4 hrs of delay and 3 hrs of waiting in line I got a refund for my going away flight, but in two days I realized that they were still charging my for my flight back!!!!"
Pros: "I liked the lady pilot but she was almost too nice...shouldn't sound so apologetic about weather or mechanical delays which are out of her control or for the passengers' safety. Comfort was as expected. Boarding was pretty smooth. (But de-boarding and re-boarding was a pretty disruptive fiasco.)"
Cons: "What entertainment? What food? Or do you mean 'snack and drink choices for purchase'? (Didn't purchase anything b/c not to my liking but...l think probably for most, okay.) The crew, for the most part, with what they have to work with (mostly information, no real service except to sell snacks, etc), they were fine and kept mainly to themselves."
Pros: "Someone on the flight had the Flu and my wife some friends end up with it."
Cons: "The a/c was not cool enough."
Cons: "I felt like I was so cramped I could barely move, and because the seats didn't recline at all, not even a little, I couldn't try to sleep. Im not a very tall or fat person, so im not being unreasonable. The crew were very nice and highly professional, though."
Cons: "I didn't find out about their charge for seats until I checked in to get seat assignments, and also their carry-on charge, plus charging for the normal complimentary drinks. I will more than likely not use Frontier again. Very misleading"
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "The fact that you have to pay for a carry-on needs to be made more clear. Other reviews state the same thing. Not happy about paying an additional $30 for a carry-on."
Pros: "I arrived early to destination."
Cons: "All of the additional fees. Basically, I will have paid the same price as I would have with a direct flight through another airline. so I probably won't use again."
Cons: "We had to wait an hour and a half waiting for a gait ot open for us. It was not very nice with an infant who was ready to get off the plane."
Pros: "Flight was delayed about 3 hours. First was a delay of 1 and half hours for maintenance, then they brought a different plane. Then we were delayed an hour on the tarmack for an hour due to weather. Not their fault But all we were offered was water. Brew was very nice. Just really felt that due to "double whammy". Should have at least got a coke. They also charge $40 for carry on bag. Really."
Pros: "I thoroughly enjoyed how cheap my round trip flight was from Minneapolis to Denver. Crew was friendly, considering it was a late night flight as well, I rate them a 9/10."
Cons: "Not much room for the cheap seats, as to be expected, with no option to recline. No entertainment and food/drinks were a little spendy."
Pros: "The crew was nice. Never have I been so delayed with little to no information, but they were doing the best they could.."
Cons: "Horrible delays, no information, tons of hidden costs, and did I mention horrible delays?!"
Pros: "The crew was friendly."
Cons: "Brand new Airbus had computer problems that required us to return to the gate after 45 minutes on the tarmac. Cold restart was required. That required another 45 minutes. Then we had to wait for 1/2 an hour for a maintenance crew to arrive so they could sign off on the problem??? Seriously? Why wasn't the maintenance crew already waiting for the plane once the decision was made to return to the gate? One would have thought after such an inconvenience that Frontier could afford to let go of some of its $5 sodas or pretzels for free to the passengers, are you kidding...NOT! We were offered about 4 ounces of warm water. Yup, they would not even let go of their ice. I guess the lesson is that you live and learn, I will never fly Frontier again."
Cons: "I was quite shocked when checking in our seats were located in a different spot from what I reserved, I would have liked to have been notified about this change."
Pros: "I think this airline should be a little more open about what's going on. Upon booking, no mention of baggage fees. There was a delay that we knew nothing about as we sat there. The crew wasn't very welcoming. Probably wouldn't book Frontier again."
Pros: "The flight crew and gate agent were fine."
Cons: "The flight was 5 1/2 hours late arriving at 4 am. Missed a prepaid day of the vacation. The 800 number in the the email about the flight delay was wrong. The seats were terrible. Total cost of travel was double the ticket price. Frontier offered a $100 voucher for future travel which is useless because I will never fly them again."
Cons: "The carry-on luggage fees put me over the top. I paid an extra $170 for my family of three, each way, for two check-ins and two carry-ons, which left the flight more expensive than the main airlines, so what's the point of flying on a discount airline? There were no employees at the check-in counter in Minneapolis when we arrived, and we waited in line their for an hour and ten minutes, and then waited 20 minutes at the other end to get our luggage back. If they're making more money on the fees, they sure aren't spending it on the employees!"
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "Flying from Denver to Houston I didn't need to pay for a carry on bag because I was told my bag would fit under my seat (and it did). On my return flight was told by the (unfriendly) staff member that I needed to place my bag in this VERY small contraption and if it fit I would not need to pay for my bag. Unfortunately, my bag did not fit however; I was able to place my bag under the seat in front of me for the entire flight. Previously in November I had to pay an additional $75 for my checked bag being 4 lbs overweight. That is highway robbery, I could have checked in another bag for less than that. I will no longer fly Frontier because I am extremely dissatisfied with their service."
Cons: "I feel that Frontier baited me with competitive fares when booking the ticket. When it was time to print my boarding pass, there were extra and excessive fees that other airlines don't charge and weren't disclosed at booking. Frontier charges a "seat fee" just for selecting a seat for the flight. They charge a "carry on" fee for a carry on bag. When added to the booking fare, the total cost exceeded what I would have paid on another airline. I feel tricked and deceived. I would not use Frontier again unless they were the only provider."
Cons: "Charged extra $60 for check-in baggage for the round trip. The baggage was 25lbs and there was a carry-on option, but charges showed $70 for that during on-line check-in. The boarding crew in Philadelphia were excellent, but the same things cannot be said about the ones in Houston. They were rude in their reply to questions. The return flight was delayed by 45 mins. The baggage claim was horrible. The baggage carousel was jammed and it took another 45 mins to collect the baggage. Overall mediocre experience!"
Cons: "more than 90 minutes of delay.."
Pros: "It was an easy process and no hiccups at all. Crew was friendly."
Cons: "Spirit needs more room with seats."
Pros: "The flight attendant was thoughtful, kind enough to offer to move me from cramped middle seat near back of plane to an empty exit row. Since I’m nearly 6’5” tall, that was greatly appreciated."
Cons: "There were no “dislikes”. I didn’t buy any drink or food onboard."
Pros: "I love to travel. I was unable to do so as often until Spirit. I travel light so fees don't apply. I've only been delayed once and was reimbursed for my flight and luggage. My flights leave and arrive on time. I tell anyone who listens about Spirit. I've had so many positive experiences with Spirit that it would take some real serious acts of incompetence to keep me away. My preferred airline."
Cons: "I was very cold but it was much better than being hot."
Cons: "I'm not sure how it's legal that spirit doesn't include the exit tax for a country when every single other airline does include it in their KAYAK posted price. There is literally a tax window in San Pedro Sulu, Honduras that says for "spirit airlines passengers" charging $47 per person that my family of 5 had to pay to get out of honduras. Continental would have been cheaper. The exit tax for a country is a required tax. Why is the tax included in the KAYAK posted continental price but not spirit? Only spirit airlines passengers had to pay it. That's messed up. Kayak should be more aware that prices they list aren't truly accurate as all the required taxes were not included. I'm not talking about baggage fees or meal fees or seat selection fees which aren't required if you don't want to pay it, I'm talking about a required tax to get back on the plane."
Pros: "Great staff, very friendly."
Cons: "Expensive food and drink, but understandable."
Pros: "What did I like? That we landed, intact. Thank you Mr. Pilot, you were the only solid investment in this wretched saga."
Cons: "Where to begin. I suppose we wittingly pay (or rather don't pay) for the space, so I'll focus on the crew. The attendants were rude, not just to me, but to an older lady who didn't speak much English. It all started when The woman had gone to the restroom and was trying to get back to her seat. But the beverage service had already started, so the woman stepped up to the cart, about three steps behind, and politely waited for it to move up the plane, thus freeing her to get to her seat. Instead, the flight attendant yelled at her at the top of her lungs to "get back "! As if that wasn't enough, the attendant proceeded to push the cart backward into the woman so that she would step back, and did not relent until the woman was back at the end of the plane, standing at the bathroom. What a disgrace."
Pros: "Good crew , newer plane"
Cons: "Pay for every ala carte , even water. Seats have very little padding and no reclining During night flights , the xrew tends to leave lights on throughout the whole cabin . Our flight landed at midnight , let us rest ."
Pros: "The staff was super funny and made everyone laugh! A++ to the staff. Outstanding"
Cons: "Charging for refreshments like water..."
Pros: "The boarding process was fine, the ticket price was fine."
Cons: "Delayed flight, distracted flight attendants at times who seemed to be unenthusiastic unless talking to each other, very cheap backseat pocket holders."
Cons: "Being charged for baggage"
Pros: "Almost 30 minutes early and on time departure"
Cons: "It was cold.. glad I had a jacket!!"
Cons: "Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME."
Cons: "The bathroom doors slam shut every time someone leaves the bathroom. Very hard to sleep on a red eye in the back row."
Pros: "Nothing. If this airline lasts a year I will be surprised."
Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines. This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Cons: "flight attendant did not make the person in front of me put their seatback up for takeoff or landing, and I was the row before emergency row so it was hard to get in the seat or out! The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."
Pros: "I could tell the plane was relatively new because of the details. The crew members were always available and helpful."
Cons: "No room for the legs, no recliners, small restroom. When boarding, 3 people had the same seat, one of the crew members solved the problem because luckily the flight was not a 100% full. 0 entertainment for the 6 hours flight (it was the same plane from FLL to Houston and San Diego) so I had to try and sleep (which was impossible). When I felt thirsty and wanted a cup of water, they told me it was a $3 dollar charge per bottle, I've never been denied water in my whole life, I found it nonsence. Overall, I would never fly Spirit again."
Pros: "i like the assigned seating, i makes not rush to get on the plane first because ur seat is ur seat."
Cons: "seemingly all the rows of seating are too short. i'm only 5-11 tall and my knees were constantly against the seat in front of me. i sat in the middle seat on row 22. the lade next to me sat on the isle and even her knees were hitting and was uncomfortable. at one point the person in front of her leaned his seat back and it was all completely in her space, make her extremely uncomfortable. we had to ask flight attendant to ask the man to put his seat up some to give her some more room and comfort."
Pros: "I like that the weather was nice"
Cons: "I didn't like that I paid a lot more for my bags, almost $150 for 2 bags to check inn, just to get to Minneapolis and another $150 to get back and plus they was rude when I got in the airplane cause my seat belt wasn't on right, well I'm not a small guy, they was gonna charge me $5 to rent me an seatbelt adapter made me very uncomfortable in front of all people in the plane, so on my way back home I bought another ticket for south west one way trip, but I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND SPIRIT AIRLINES TO NO ONE,"
Pros: "Clean and friendly staff"
Pros: "Cheap travel! Made it so I can visit family. I know there are a lot of rules & you can get nickel & dimed to death, but I followed the rules & appreciate that Spirit enforces them."
Cons: "Flight was late arriving & late taking off so we arrived at our destination 45 mins late, which put us in after midnight. Sat on the tarmac awhile before taking off. Given the tight seating conditions it made for a long flight."
Pros: "Flight crew was pleasant."
Cons: "Dirty plane. Uncomfortable seats. Zero entertainment technology."
Cons: "$100 extra for luggage"
Pros: "The crew were speedy and efficient"
Pros: "Good flight"
Cons: "$55 each way froundtrip or a bag negates the bargain of the ticket"
Pros: "On time, polite crew, and can be cheap if you travel light."
Cons: "Most items were out of stock, food and drink wise. You think being so over priced they'd keep a better stock. Water was $4."
Pros: "Ease of boarding. Seats were comfortable. In flight snacks were well priced, but it would have been nice to have a greater selection."
Cons: "Leg room and second carry on price, just prohibitively expensive. This will be a definite factor in deciding to take Spirit in the future."
Pros: "Spirit has a reputation for being late or delayed due to something. We were delayed one hour. Did not get home until after midnight."
Cons: "Couldn't go on the flight. Developed kidney stone the night before."
Pros: "The staff was friendly!"
Cons: "There was problems with the scheduling and when I went to change it, I was told that I would be charged $200 extra. Very disappointing"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 2 hours and they did not communicate this information very well. I was told to go to gate L7 and waited and waited without any information. Then they told us to go to gate L1 and then to go to gate L11 - it was very disorganized . The employees were not helpful and they seemed annoyed at all the questions. It was very crowded in the terminal and they kept telling us to move back to let other passengers off the plane but there was no where to go. All in all it was not a good experience to fly with Spirit."
Cons: "For starters, the attendant was very unprofessional. He did not even have the courtesy to make us feel like our patronage is appreciated. I think Spirit is a ghetto airline and they operate like con artist. I will never fly their airline again or recommend it to anyone. Charging up to a hundred dollars for a carry on is utter nonsense."
Cons: "I didn't like the charge for my "carry-on", that fit in the bin that stated, "if it fits, it's free" Wasn't free, $65 on the way to Minn. and $55 on the way back to LA. I also think your flight attendants talk way too much over the intercom. I get if you are trying to push your credit card, but I didn't need to hear about it for what seemed like 15 minutes. For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again"
Pros: "Flight itself was good and I felt safe. Carry on luggage is also a fee so not the excessive rolling luggage on flight."
Cons: "Website--hard to navigate! NOT user friendly; aircraft a bit uncomfortable."
Pros: "On time and clean plane"
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."
Cons: "We didn't even get on the plane. I missed my cousins wedding because they kept delaying us and after hours pf waiting cancelled the flight. I will never fly with them again."
Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."
Pros: "The lady working at the gate 17 checkin for the flight from TPA to IAH was excellent!"
Cons: "I arrived to checkin in my bag early so I could relax in the airport only to be created with a sign stating that no one would be available to assist me until 4 PM which was two hours later? I then proceeded to pay by the kiosk to check my bag to be safe but then was unable to leave it. I then had to still carry the bag around only to return and be at the back of an extremely long line of people waiting. I finally get through then proceeded to my gate 17 to checkin. Once one the plane I noticed several people with bags the size of mine as carry on which meant I just wasted $52. I was extremely disgusted because I could have possibly had this issue resolved and saved my hard earned money if someone was at the baggage checkin desk."
Pros: "The best part of the trip was that I didn't have to pay $10 like I thought because I wasn't able to print my boarding pass ahead of time."
Cons: "Several things. Spirit doesn't allow you to electronically use a boarding pass. Spirit's website is terrible; I tried for two days to reset my password to be able to manage my details--such as pay for my baggage early to save $13. I finally received a response two days after my flight with the reset password directions, as well as a note from Spirit telling me that my flight will be delayed. Nice. Regarding pricing, I feel manipulated. After the nickle and diming, it was as expensive as a flight on a real airline. This "budget" airline is to be avoided."
Cons: "The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"
Pros: "I had the big comfy seat in the front, always a great value. However if you are reading this and thinking about trying the big seat then I say, the seats suck. You should save your money and stay in the back. Wouldn't want everybody trying to set in the big seats so next time I fly they would already be talen. If I can keep it a secret there is a better chance of my getting one on my next flight."
Pros: "It was a smooth and fast flight"
Cons: "The delay and the seats were kinda uncomfortable"
Pros: "- This flight's crew was unusually terrible, nothing more to mention here than we arrived safe."
Cons: "- The flight could be defined as late: the airplane arrived late, we boarded late and the process was slow, and took off late. - Service on the flight was really bad, even the crew was not polite. - Food options were limited considering the menu offered. - I was disappointed, my worst experience with Spirit Airlines. I didn't arrive on time, lost my car reservation, had to spend money on hotel, had very simple snacks on board, and inefficient service."
Pros: "Nothing what so ever"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable"
Cons: "Delay for 2 hrs. Then baggage doesn't show up."
Pros: "I disliked everything except how helpful the staff was when I almost puked because of the extreme discomfort of the seats."
Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."
Pros: "Flight was great!"
Cons: "Check in at Atlanta airport was a mess - there were several lines and it was not clear which line i should take to check in for my flight. Despite i arrived 2 hours before take off, I almost missed the flight."
Cons: "On my return flight with no checked bags, I was not allowed to check in for my flight. I was 3 minutes past the check in time. There was plenty of time for me to physically get on the flight. The ticketing agent made no attempt to help."
