Pros: "I'm used to being spoiled by Hawaiian Airlines. By comparison to Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian is a lot warmer with customer service, they are more efficient, they give you a free meal for trans-pacific flights, and they give you a screen or full entertainment system (depending on what kind of airplane you get). Alaska Airlines, by contrast, is a lot more bare-bones. I hardly had any contact with the flight attendants (when I did, they were nice enough I suppose), there was no food on the flight unless you paid a good penny for it, the seats were pretty average, and there was nothing really to watch (not even a common screen for movies, and this was a trans-pacific flight). You had to order their entertainment iPads. So I pretty much slept. That said, both Alaska and Hawaiian have good prices. Alaska had better options for departure and arrival times."

And I didn’t want to pay for wireless in order to download the app to watch free entertainment. So their network team should allow their firewall opend up to whatever port that can make that happen."

When I asked if she could pour a bit of water into my water bottle, rather than say, "I'm sorry, I am not allowed" or "unfortunately, no" or really anything verbal, she made a "tsk, tsk" face and offered me a plastic cup. Besides being annoyingly wasteful as a policy (if indeed it is one - this has not been an issue on other airlines), her customer service skills left something to be desired. This strange interaction left me with a poor overall impression of the flight experience."

Cons: "Boarding was delayed, disorganized and chaotic. Flight crew seemed to be overwhelmed and scattered. Ran out of hot meal about halfway through aircraft. When I expressed my disappointment, the F.A. said that there were a lot of wrestlers on board and they got all the food. I commented that it was poor planning and the FA stated that he didn't think anything would please me. He was argumentative and rude, IMO. He could have handled it better, eg: "So sorry. Out of our control, etc." To say that the food went to the wrestlers, and attitude gave me and those around me, the impression that he really didn't give a damn. Customer service training would be a good idea."

"Selling seats to make a bit more profit for airlines has turned into a nightmare for those of us not willing to pay extra fees, this flight was packed at the back of the plane leaving full rows of seats empty and unavailable, horrible practice during a pandemic. Is it really worth it to spread such ill will? And not even one ounce of complimentary water. No thanks done with Frontier and fee based flying."

No help was offered other than rebooking on a flight that didn’t get me to my destination until the next day and included an overnight stay at a hub airport with no hotel voucher. When told that was unacceptable I was handed a piece of paper listing two “Options” from Frontier. Both options involved going to a website and filling out forms. One for cancellation and $500 in travel vouchers which, after filling out the form and submitting returned with a message that the website was closed. Option 2 was to try to rebook which led to a dead end. I finally called Frontier directly and spent over 45 minutes getting everything straightened out. Now I have vouchers that have to be used by January 1, 2019."

Ticket agent at the desk before I left MSP took my boarding pass for flight from Denver to SLC, not sure if he listed me on the wrong flight out of Denver or if the agent at the desk in Denver printed the wrong boarding pass. A SLC and Las Vegas flight were at neighboring gates when I realized something was wrong. I'd been printed a boarding pass for the flight to Las Vegas instead of SLC. Glad I noticed it before the last flight to SLC left. Was suffering at the time with a bout of diverticulitis, the straight up and down, nonreclining seats were horrific for me."

Rows have been shifted so there is less room than before! Impossible! No beverages, even water, unless you pay. No food unless you pay. After airfare we than had to pay $17 a seat per person each way to select a seat. (Wasn't that what airfare is, buying a seat?) My 56,000 saved miles have disappeared from the Frequent flyer program with no warning so now I have no reason to Fly Frontier. And won't."

The woman at check-in was very, very good as far as being able to handle a lot of cranky passengers. She kept a positive attitude and was able to book me on a flight 2 days later. Kudos to her."
Cons: "No compensation was offered. NONE. This lay over was expensive (two nights in a motel plus food). You didn't even offer me a drink of water while I stood in long lines getting to the check-in counter and then waiting to make arrangement at a motel. I know the weather is out of your control, but couldn't you at least try to make your patrons comfortable after they have been on the road in sub-zero weather, in the snow trying to make their flight??? Enuf said. I will likely not fly with you again."

Cons: "When I went to sit down in my middle seat there was two larger women on either side of me. If I was any bigger, I am a 5' 4" 110 lb woman mind you, I would not have fit in between these women. If you keep shrinking your seats, no one will fly with you. In the future, I will be booking my flights further in advance with an airline that has seats to accommodate someone who is the size of a full sized man or woman."
Cons: "The check in counter wasn't opened or staffed until 8:25am when our flight was at 10:10am. The line was incredibly long because of this. The staff was very unfriendly and they were not helpful at all."

I had NO idea I was going to be asked to pay $60 for my carry-on bag at the gate! and THEN be required to pay again for a simple drink and snack on the airplane. I understand charging for upgraded options of more expensive drinks and larger snack items and additional baggage, but whatever happened to including the basic courtesies in the cost of the flight!? Again, I felt duped! I will not be choosing Frontier again in the future unless these things change. And, oh my gosh, sitting within 3 rows of the lavatory was extremely uncomfortable to the nose the entire flight! Surely there are better ways of de-odorizing!"

Cons: "You get what you pay for as they say. Crew was unprofessional, rude, didn't even tell me which way my gate was I had to turn back around and ask. All they were doing was BSing with each other and laughing. Pilot took forever to even take off, we literally drove around on the ground going like 10 mph for about 15-20 minutes, and because we didn't take off when we were supposed to I assume is why our flight got delayed an hour! Never have had a delayed flight until frontier. Then to make matters worse, I checked my bag and they put it on the wrong belt I literally waited for my one suitcase for about 45 minutes! Like wtf get your situation together. Not to mention the $30 1st bag fee at least sun country gives you that."
Cons: "Using Kayak, the price of the flight looked good. After booking, we found out that Frontier wants $35 per checked bag and $40 per carry on and $11 per seat to choose your seat. This made Frontier only a couple bucks cheaper than Delta that had a much better schedule. Live and learn."
Pros: "It showed on time all he time and few minutes before boarding it was canceled. It was canceled because flight coming from different city was not able to make. They knew that but kept & the customers waiting till last minute and there was no attended at the gate. So one needs to exit the security, go to the counter, wait in line for more than 30 min to know what happened and they do not have any other flight to till next day."

Cons: "They charge me $50 for a seat at check-in They charged me $40 to carry-on one bag at check in They charge for all refreshments and snacks. The only thing that was complementary was a small glass of water. One of the flight attendants asked me if I would be willing to give up my aisle seat that I paid an extra $50 for to take a center seat so a teenage boy could sit by his mother. 99 times out of 100 I would have given the boy my seat. However this was a longer flight and I just had to pay $50 to obtain my aisle seat. When I tried to nicely explain that I just paid extra money to get this I'll seat the flight attendants response was " well he had to pay $50 for that center seat also, so it's basically the same seat". I replied no actually that is a center seat and I'm sitting in an aisle seat so they are different. After I declined to change my seat the flight attendant gave me major attitude about it and went off and informed the other flight attendants that I would not change seats. All of the flight attendants gave me the stink eye the rest of the trip, treated me rudely, & and ignored me as much as possible. I've been flying for my profession for 13 years and this was the most unprofessional crew I've ever seen. This is my one and only complaint about a flight in 13 years of many many flights. I will try very hard not to fly with Frontier ever again."

Fortunately for me, I did not have a connection and the person I was meeting in Orlando was also delayed 4 hours from a different location . So I was only moderately inconvenienced. Ordinarily this would have been a very costly event. This is my 2nd trip on the same flight within one month. Non-stop and times are great. First trip was on schedule and solid. Very friendly staff. Planes seemed new, cean, and safe, but not very comfortable (seats did not recline!?)"

Cons: "Due to a winter storm, our flight was on hold for 8 hours. We were told all day to "stay with the plane", but in the end our flight was being used to fly the next day 5:30 passengers and we would not have a flight. So we waited all day, patiently, courteously and were left hanging. I was stranded 2 hours from home and wouldn't have a flight out for 4 days. Since I would have had to return the 5th day, I had no choice but to take the shuttle back home. Even the pilot and desk staff assumed we would be flown out in the morning. Frontier seriously needs to work on customer service when it comes to interrupted flights. We, who had been disrupted all day should have been placed on that morning flight. The 5:30 booking should have been delayed due to the circumstances."

And could you get any meaner flight attendants. The poor guy next to me seat didn't work and she practically bounced him off the plane cause he couldn't get his seat back in an upright position. what we thought was a great ticket price ended up being more than Delta!"

By the time I finished fighting with the self check-in machine and talked to a person, it was about 45min before the flight and I was told I was too late and the plane had already boarded and was full. I asked if I could get on the next flight, but I was told the next flight from LAX to Oakland wasn't until 7AM the next morning. I wound up having to buy a last-minute, one-way ticket on American Airlines just to get where I was going. The man at the counter was very rude and dismissive about the whole thing."

Cons: "I have been flying since I was 5 years old. THIS WAS THE WORST flight (experience) thus far! Flight and boarding on time, BUT THE MOST ANNOYINGLY UNPROFESSIONAL FLIGHT CREW took over once on the aircraft. This made the uncomfortable crampped overpriced for what you're not getting flight a nightmare. There was horrible turbulence as well, which the airline is not responsible for; However our captin did'nt address the passengers at all. And the completely UNPROFESSIONAL rude chatty and hard to understand screeching non english speaking voices from two women kept coming over the speakers disrupting what little peace one would try to focus on while being jolted around like on a rollercoaster. You some people were ACTUALLY motuon sick, scared, and nervous BUT they didn't stop talking long enough to notice. I only noticed the men working with passengers to maintain some calm by displaying professionalism."

Cons: "Arrival: Both flights arrived on time, BUT the plane remained on the runway for extended periods to await a gate. I know delays happen, but to wait on two out of two fights isn't a good average... Seats: I'm very small, and was very glad in these seats. I found the seats quite uncomfortable because they don't recline at all! Food/Beverage: Nothing is provided - not even water. Baggage Check: When making reservations, $30/bag to check didn't seem too bad. However, when pre-registering my luggage, in order to receive the $30/bag rate, I would have needed to spend $50 additional for a membership. I don't fly enough to make that worthwhile."
Cons: "I've read bad reviews about Spirit airlines, but I was on a budget and decided to take my chances. It was a very small plane, which meant tight quarters during a 4.5 hour flight. I have a disability and deal with chronic pain and usually need to carefully plan out long flights so I arrive with minimal pain, but the seats were very small and moving about the back cabin was impossible. When I asked for a wheelchair I wasn't granted my request right away because I was told I didn't register online. I've always requested a wheelchair when I check in with major airlines when I arrive and have never been given a problem. Also, I didn't realize checking baggage would cost so much! No wifi available a very turbulent flight and they even charge for water. It wasn't the most horrible experience, but if we pay for a cheap ticket, expect substandard service. This will definitely will be my last time with Spirit Airlines."

Isn't that covered when a ticket is purchased?? I purchased through Kayak and find out later that we can save money by doing everything ourselves online or at kiosk. Then watch all staff sit around and socialize while we over pay. Why have a staff at all? I had to pay to sit in exit seat then asked to assist in emergency. If occupying those seats... Why do we have to pay extra? I guess not what I had in mind. I will choose different airline next time. I paid more to fly my bags than it cost to fly myself. Don't understand!"

Cons: "The airline didn't allow me to print my boarding pass until 8:30 pm on the night before my scheduled 8:38 am departure. At that time the fliglht departure time was delayed. In the morning the flight was delayed again. Fortunately I had a three hour layover in Atlanta, so the delays only meant less of a layover. The seats were uncomfortable. It was a clear day without many clouds, but somehow the pilots on both of my flights weren't able to hold the planes steady during the takeoffs, climbing to altitude, and approaches for landings. The planes were wobbling a lot---like they were no longer on smooth automatic pilot."
Cons: "Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME."

Cons: "First, they cancelled my 8am flight at 10pm the night before with no notification. I happened to see it and call to rebook on the next flight, but if I hadn't been checking the flight status I'm not sure what would have happened when I got to the airport. Then, the 10am rebooked flight was delayed for over 2 hours - with basically no communication from the gate agents and no updates to the expected departure time. Ended up getting a refund and rebooking on Southwest - which was a perfectly smooth experience, huge contrast to the clusterf*** of flying Spirit."
Cons: "When buy through kayak link it takes you to the spirit page, where there's no spot to put in get TSA Precheck. When do all through phone, the boarding pass on the screen doesn't actually scan - only airline in the world where you still need a paper copy. After 50 mins in security line, the phone bar code didn't scan (can't use phone for spirit). Had to leave to get a paper boarding pass. Missed flight. I fly at least once a week every week. Have never missed a flight in my life (probably bc I had never flown with spirit before). Missed this flight! No refund, no airline credit (even if I got the airline credit I would let it expire to avoid flying with them again). Literally worst user experience I've ever had with an airline."

Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines.This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Cons: "flight attendant did not make the person in front of me put their seatback up for takeoff or landing, and I was the row before emergency row so it was hard to get in the seat or out! The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."

I got that reveresed by corporate but the ticket counter people were AWFUL and uncaring and not just to me. Everyone in line was saying they would never use Spirit again. One woman was charged eight dollars to get a seat next to her toddler! Awful gouging airline. It costs one hundred dollars if you don't know and bring a suitcase to the plane without paying days before!"
Pros: "We showed up to the airport for a flight from Oakland to LA and the agent notified us that our flight was cancelled. This was on December 23rd, and they told us they could put us on another flight on December 25th! We were returning on the 26th so that was entirely unhelpful. They said the reason for the cancellation was weather in LA. But none of the other airlines were having any issues with their flights. We were flying at 9am and there was rain in LA at about 7pm. They offered to refund us, which we accepted. I was expecting to have to harangue them to actually get our money back, but the refund came through unprompted about a week later. We did not get reimbursed for our cabs to/from the airport, or for the cost of driving to LA."

Cons: "It was very difficult to check in on line. it took me over one hour. Wanted to get my sits and when I took the option there was no sits to select even when paying for it. I checked my carry on and I kept having the offer to be part of the club to pay less for my carry on. I did not want to use the option but I keep being sent to that side. The same experience I had when tried to check in in my flight from Oakland to Chicago on Friday. since the web site did not let me check in I had to check in at the airport. There was an accident in the freeway and I ended up losing the flight from Oakland to Chicago because the website did not let me check in the night before. We arrived 45 minutes before the flight and they have the policy to check in 45 instead of 30 minutes before the fight like other airlines. We did not even get options or credit. We just had to buy another flight. It was a nightmare."
Pros: "Our flight was delayed and then cancelled. There was one woman who was helpful in customer service when I arrived at the airport. I explained that I had to change my flight recently and am 6.5 months pregnant. Because my travel was booked within 7 days of the original flight, I was charged a $90 fee to make the change even though I made the change within 2 hours of booking. I was not reimbursed the difference of the flights. I was instead given a voucher to use within 60 days for the difference minus the $90 fee. I sent to online requests to customer service requesting contact because I am pregnant and will likely not be up for travel for several months. I got no response. The customer service rep who helped my friend and I book a replacement flight when our flight was cancelled was great and did his best with a sense of humor. It was obvious all of the staff did their best but were honest about the limits they had in being helpful: we waited in flux for an hour to find out if the cancellation was confirmed after being delayed for several hours. It was made clear that the replacement flight had to be within the range of the cost of the original ticket. Spirit ticket costs are completely misleading because of fees added for carry on bags, printing a ticket, water on the plane, etc. People tried their best but the set up including the website feel like an intentional scam."

Then there was a flight delay of a minimum 2 hours due to a bad windshield? Great keep us safe, but good luck with finding someone at the gate or a service counter to give you an explanation of why it's delayed. Instead just wander aimlessly around the terminal looking for a Spirit employee. I then went to the Spirit website and it shows the flight as "on time", really?? At least give me an app or website that's accurate so I don't have to sit in front of the gate for 2 hours. When booking through Kayak there is no mention of pre-purchasing checked baggage so I was stuck with a $50 fee at the ticket counter! This is definitely not the "low price" airline unless you truly "travel naked". Save yourself some grief and ignore Spirit as a flight option."
Pros: "I was quite surprised at check-in to find that checking a bag cost $50 and a carry-on was an additional $55. I travel frequently and usually the first checked bag is free or $25, and a carry-on is free. I booked on Kayak and didn't see any notification that your additional fees were so much higher than the industry standard. It appears that your business model is to attract clients with low prices, then hit them with hefty additional charges at th airport, when it would be difficult for them to change plans. It worked this time, but I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. I suggest that you reconsider the way you treat your clients."

By the time I got my ticket printed I had 43 minutes till my flight left. Waited in line just to have an agent tell me I was 2 mins too late. Last check in is 45 mins prior to flight and I had 43 mins left. Complete BS. I will not fly Spirit again. If you think I'm exaggerating read other reviews. Good luck!"
Cons: "The staff was rude from check-in to on the plane. The charge for my suitcase and weight of bag was ridiculous and never have I ever paid that much for a suitcase. My bag came back broken and open and I am missing few things from that pocket. I am very disatisfied with your team and my customer service and extra fees. I will never fly your airline again and could have definitely flown cheaper with a different airline. I believe you should put in bigger and bold type that people can not include purse as carry on and backpack because I had to put my purse in my bag to check it which meant my bag weighed more costing more. My flight was more than an international flight which is absurd. Your website should disclose that information more clear."

Cons: "This was a quick turn around trip for me, just taking my son home from his summer visit. My flight in was delayed as was my flight out. When I went to collect my ticket the customer service individual said I HAD to use the kiosk. It wouldn't print my ticket causing me to now be pushing it even closer to take off. She ended up having to call and get permission to allow me to have my ticket to proceed to boarding. If she would have helped me to begin with I don't think the extra time for a phone call would have been necessary. I do however thank the attendants and flight managers there that day for helping to ensure I made my flight back home without fail."
Cons: "I picked Spirit because it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Keep in mind when you choose Spirit, you will have to pay for your carry on that is not your personal item, pay if you want to pick your seat, and pay if you have the person at the counter print your ticket. Spirit also cancelled our flight. We spent about an hour on the phone with Spirit and said that they booked me on another flight. When I went to check in, they didn't have a reservation for me. It was such a cluster. I will pay the extra money to not fly Spirit."
Cons: "I called 10 days before my flight to cancel it due to a death in the family. I was told someone from management would call me within 5 day about the matter. I never heard back so I called the day before my flight and I was told once again that someone from management would call me within 5 days. They apologized that no one ever called me the first time. It's been 13 days since that last phone call and I still haven't heard back. Three tickets down the drain and no one ever called me back so I could at least pay the cancellation fee to get credit for another future flight. Horrible customer service!"
Pros: "I am Physian, I arrived at Oakland airport at 1pm for my flight at 1:47pm, I could not print my boarding pass because of a stupid policy that states 45 minutes is the cut off. After a humble plea to the staff who were really sooooo rude especially the supervisor Maria, they told me there is nothing they could do. I was so disappointed cos I was meant to be on call. I had to but a last minute one way ticket with south west that was boarding in 25 minutes. ...experience was like night and day, better and more courteous staff. Anyway,I will never fly Spirit again. It's not worth it."
Cons: "I didn't like the charge for my "carry-on", that fit in the bin that stated, "if it fits, it's free" Wasn't free, $65 on the way to Minn. and $55 on the way back to LA. I also think your flight attendants talk way too much over the intercom. I get if you are trying to push your credit card, but I didn't need to hear about it for what seemed like 15 minutes. For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again"

Cons: "At check in for our baggage it was a very long wait Michael who helped us put us on standby for an earlier flight gave us new boarding passes did not see that I had paid for a carry on bag so my boarding pass did not have a carry on. I also had a very hard time checking in for our flight and printing the boarding pass as the web page was down for almost 24 hours I wasted many hours trying to print the boarding pass and was very surprised about the charges for seats baggage and printing the boarding pass."
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."
Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."
Cons: "The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"

For some reason Spirit did not feel the need to just let passengers know the status of the aircraft so that they could make other arrangements. I had to fly into a different city, rent a car, and drive home 2 hours (after sitting in an airport with no idea what was going on with my flight for approximately 6 hours). For my troubles? A $50 voucher for an airline I will NEVER fly again. No reimbursement. No nothing. And the kicker? It was entirely on Spirit. It was a maintenance issue. Absolutely horrible."

There were extra charges for every possible thing, including reserving a seat and checking in at the airport. If I had known this I would have flown another airline because I ended up spending more money with Spirit. The seats don't recline, and I was told I could get water out of the bathroom sink if I wanted some. The airline crew was making several lewd and inappropriate comments on the return flight, including a male attendant saying he rubbed everyones pens down his pants. All around horrible."

Cons: "I am so upset by my trip with Spirit. This was my first time flying with them and I will NEVER do it again. I rather drive my 12 hour trip. They hit me with a $52 fee at check in to take a carry-on and the first lady I spoke with said it was my fault for not booking with them and checking their policies and that's what I get for booking with a 3rd party. Also, she told me that most people don't fly with carry-on's just a bookbag or purse - which looking around was obviously not true. The whole line of people was outraged at this new policy. Since I only had cash on me for my trip I had to pay and extra $5 to get it onto a visa gift card because they don't take cash. On the plane they argued with the woman behind me that they couldn't even give her water without charging her like $4. Nothing is free. Nothing is comfortable. No entertainment - not even radio to plug your headphones into. They told me if I booked my carry-on online it would only be $25 instead of $57. So I tried to do so about 5 times while on my trip and it kept saying they would send me a confirmation to set up my account. Which never came. I followed all instructions and I tried different emails to make sure that wasn't the problem. I ended up leaving my carry-on with my parents and shoving everything I could into a large purse. in the end flying with Spirit was MORE EXPENSIVE than the other airlines I looked into. I wish I could go back and not learn that painful lesson. Thank you Kayak for the ease of booking my flight."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled, due to maintenance issue. spent all day in the airport, flight was scheduled to leave at 10am found out at. 3pm that is was cancelled, staff was very rude, gave us a card to call spirit to rebook. When called the agent couldn't help for an hr due to a system update and asked me to call back in a hr and to keep trying number. No one in the airport was willing or able to help to rebook. Conflicting information was given by the gate, check in desk and the agent on the phone. We received a $7 food voucher after waiting inline 2 hrs for it. And the only options they offered; was to fly to another airport with an 8 hr layover after being in the airport 12 hrs already and catch another flight at 7am. Or to wait two days to get a flight out of ATL. Worst part was the customer service and rude staff. I won't be flying with spirit in the future. Employees stood around instead of helping and had bad attitudes. And no clue as to flight info, or plane status to keep us updated."
Pros: "I am a disabled veteran and I was forced to wait in security twice for over an hour each time because Spirit doesn't allow you to use your emailed boarding pass like ANY OTHER AIRLINE. I have over 20 flights that I will be taking in the next 4 months and I will not be flying with this airline. I'd like to meet whoever runs this airline and have some words with them on how to run a successful business. Everyone I know knows not to fly Spirit. Now I do too. The price can be beat 9/10 times on in a better airline."
Cons: "After realizing how much extra I was going to pay for "buying" my seat, boarding pass, and my luggage, my checked bag weighed 2 pounds over. Well, there's another $25. I was pulled for a second security check which I guess I can't blame Spirit for but only after getting to my destination tonight did I realize that something fell out of the bin when the officer took my things to scan it again. Good bye cute make up bag. The flight was delayed and the gate changed several times before we actually boarded. Seats were very crowded and you had no room to move. Thank goodness it was only an hour flight."

Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."
Cons: "This trip was lousy. The ticket taker called everyone up to board 45 minutes early and the plane wasn't ready to board. The on board process was lacking in courtesy. The seats are WAY too narrow. I had an aisle seat and the stewardess knocked me in the head every time she passed which was over 30 times. The pilot announcements left me concerned for my safety. The flight attendants were required to yell annoying advertisements for 15 minutes even though the flight is only 75 minutes. And some weird teen sitting behind me kept putting his head between his knees and head butting the back of my chair. Flight crew couldn't care less. The best part of the flight was getting OFF!"
Pros: "I almost swore off Spirit a few years ago, after terrible customer service and unclean planes etc. This trip has made me reconsider. The crew was the best asset. They were entertaining, so pleasant, joking and engaging with customers all while being professional and efficient. Better service than the "premier" airlines that I have recently flown. We were more inclined to order drinks and food onboard because we were in good spirits and felt that we didn't need to wait until touchdown to allow vacation to begin. They have this carryon policy that anything bigger than basically a handbag, you are charged $55 each way!!! This added $110 to my flight!!!! I should of flown Southwest.Then on the loudspeaker in the plane, they talk about what a great airline they are and that you should apply for their credit card. I have to say not one person filled out the application even though you got frequent flyer miles."

Cons: "first flight (MSP to Fort Lauderdale) was 3 hours late which caused us to miss our connecting flight (also with Spirit) by 2 minutes because Spirit was unwilling to do what ALL major airlines have done in my experience of the last 30 years of flying. When your own airline has a delay usually the other plane is asked and willing to wait if we are just talking minutes. No options were offered for FLYING to Tampa for the same day. Waiting another 24 hours is not an option when you are booked into a resort for only 4 nights! After waiting in the airport for almost 3 hours on a promised shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa we finally left. This was supposed to be a quick break in the sun for my son who just lost his dad.
