The other option was I needed to go to the airport to change it and pay supplement. Luckily it was only a 30min taxi ride from my hotel. The desk staff could see the issue and resolved the problem within 20mins - extremely helpful. A shame this could not be sorted in UK by phone and email"

Note: the A318 does not have USB ports. Also, avoid row 9, it's directly in front of the emergency exit doors and the seats don't recline."

Cons: "I'm writing this review in behalf of my mother, who had a nightmare in Lima, Peru. Avianca changed her flight without prior notice (email or phone). She is a 72 years old woman that had a stroke three years ago, can't be exposed to any stressful situation, she needed to take medication at 9:30am LIFETIME! They didn't asked if she had a health condition, they just decided to change her flight from the one at 10:00am to the one at 5:00pm. Maybe they would be able to guess it as she was so nervous, she showed worried and confused in the counter where they informed her the "news" during check-in process. She arrived 3 1/2 hours in advance to the airport in order to avoid flight stress. She doesn't have family in Lima, so they sent her to a nice hotel (but far), arrived at 10:15am so she took her medication late. Very stressful episode for me and my family after trying to contact her as the hotel didn't let her call us (Avianca said she would have an international courtesy call). My mother called a friend of mine informing her the situation, that is how I knew about this. She didn't ate correctly that day as her food has to be low sodium. They should have arranged her flight in a same group plane and avoid old persons (with conditions) wait 9 hours. There are no words to express my frustration as nobody could help me in Avianca customer service. They should have priorities and consideration for elder people as this kind of situations are harmful for them, their blood pressure and their hearts! CERO COMMON SENSE!"

It almost felt as if we were flying on a higher-end airline like LAN or United."

If you don't watch the board you'll miss your flight. Why not send a crew member to the gate you told passengers to go to , and put a sign by that gate notifying passengers of the change! So stressful!!! 2) In transit passengers catching connecting flights, Copa to Copa, have to go through their security again! What, why?? We cannot eat, drink and relax at the gate because no fluids are allowed AT YOUR GATE. We are not talking ourtside security, you are already in the security areas. Even to go to the bathroom you have to go in and out of security, again! Stupid!! We didn't leave the terminal, and you're making us miserable!"

Cons: "Terrible terrible food- no TV (really? in 10 years flying to Colombia this was a first) seats were very uncomfortable, no room to move the legs, the seats were super old no room at all. I have traveled with LATAM before and I had good experiences, with no complains. But the flight from Bogota to Miami on may 29th was mediocre and it seems longer than it was. That plane should be used for shorter flights and not a 4 hour international flight. I am not expecting first class seats and 5 course meals. But for the same price I could have used other airlines."
Cons: "I flew home on the LATAM600 Lima to LAX. My flight was suppose to leave noon on May 25. Unfortunately we were delayed until noon the following day, May 26. I understand these matters are out of attendant's control, but the changes were not communicated in English and everyone was extremely slow to get us situated. Our flight was officially canceled at 5:30 pm, and it took five more hours for the attendants to get us to a hotel. In the morning, the transportation was not communicated well that I missed the bus. During all this, they never tried to re-book anyone either. I would pass on flying LATAM in the future."

The pass was hand written and missing information but she assured me it would be fine. When I attempted to go through security they informed me this wasn't a boarding pass and was missing information. They said I would have to go back downstairs to the desk again. have a visible disability that affects the way I walk, and typically I do not require a wheelchair. I give myself enough time to get to my destination, but thanks to Brunella I was running incredibly late. I finally arrived though my flight was then rerouted to Orlando due to weather conditions at Miami and never arrived in Miami. The pilot of this flight LA2514 decided he was done and wouldn't fly there at all. The passengers were informed they would take buses to Miami."

The only issue was in Bogotá for my return flight. After struggling with the LATAM kiosk machine I was told by a LATAM ticket agent that flights from Bogotá to Miami are through American Airlines. Luckily a very nice American Airline agent accompanied me back to LATAM and convinced them my flight was with LATAM. Everything else was simple and easy!"

This is an airline that at one point it was the best and now is the worst. It is important to clarify with passenger about passing inmigration and aduana and the distance from international to national departures!!"
Cons: "One of my bags was damaged on the direct flight from Santiago to Miami. It looked like it had been dragged down the runway. I showed this to Latan representative Angel Pupulin in Miami who's first statement was, "Latan is not responsible." He was rude and initially refused to even fill out a damaged bag report. I explained that I would call my credit card company and put a non-authorization on $2500 worth of tickets. He continued to speak to me in Spanish although I told him, " No habla Espanol." He spoke English but was trying to jerk me around in every way possible. This is not going to be ignored! One employee screwed up all the positives of multiple flights with Latan. I will avoid flying Latan in the future and will not recommend Latan to others."
Pros: "Not much since not only were we screened by the airport authorities but also by Latam. I purchased some water after security but had to leave it since they would not allow it on the plane. Had they let us know about this sooner I could have saved money."

The bad part was that I saw 2 members of the search party sneeze into the gloves and touch their noses without changing gloves. How disgusting!!! Never Latam again! I would rather pay a few dollars more and not put up with this health violation."

Cons: "Because of the terminal staff, I did not make this connection and had to spend the night in Santiago, and then wait for a flight to Sao Paulo and then to JFK, which added another 18 hours to my trip. This caused much inconvenience for me as I could not get home when I was supposed to. At least some of the terminal staff should have a good command of English and supervisors should be more willing to step in and help. I will try very hard NOT to fly with LAN again."

Cons: "The only option for individual entertainment is to have another mobile device. The common screen worked but the headphone jack did not so I could not hear any of the entertainment offered."
Pros: "The flight itself was uneventful, which is what you want from a flight. Once the connection was made the next day, the flight segment went perfectly."
Cons: "Flight was over 2 hours late leaving Lima, so many people missed connections in Miami, NOBODY from LATAM was at the gate to assist with how to make new connections or how to get local accommodations for the night. This was a customer service fail. American is no better. They rescheduled the flight at no cost, but then sent you back to LATAM for help with the overnight. If we buy tickets from your website and you own the process, you should be more helpful when there are problems. The back-and-forth was frustrating. Lima airport takes a long time to go through all the checkpoints. Two hours does not give enough time. There are at least four long lines that have to be endured. This process could use some streamlining."

Pros: "I had to buy new clothes after lost bag and since bag had been lost twice during my trip, I was reluctant to check the bag. It was of size to cram into my carry on so I did that, but American staff demonstrated concern, had a sense of humor and helped me get a comfortable seat to sort of take some of the sting away. All that was great of them I was aware of being in an upgraded seat. No complaints, but it stung a little because I was deeply aware of the reinforcement of class. The small, extra comforts were wonderful and I wish everyone had them while risking their lives together over the ocean - especially the extra room At times, on the way over I felt a claustrophobic panic. But to stay positive, they were kiind, sympathetic, funny, sweet. I appreciate them."
Cons: "3 hours delay, NOT entertainment at all, this is ridiculous! The dinner was regular, but breakfast was terrible."
Pros: "On time. Was able to sleep through much of what was likely an annoying flight because there was no personal entertainment--the tiny screens overhead would have been impossible to see and they were showing a movie that was lame. It seemed anachronistic."
Cons: "At the Lima gate they made each passenger open their carryon and submit to a secondary inspection to confiscate all water we bought past security. No warning was given about this. I had paid airport prices for water to bring onto the plane and then had to surrender it at the gate. Of course in economy class they will not give you water or attention until you are at cruising altitude. More than one flight attendant did not smile and one was actually rude in spite of my attempts to be kind and smile. Except for one friendly person at check-in kiosk, bad service overall. They do not have personal entertainment systems, and it was like going back in time with the tiny screens you cannot see, playing a movie you either watch it or not."
Cons: "My flight from SFO to Miami was delayed so I missed my connection to Rio and now I’m NYC on my birthday instead of my final destination. The flight status was changed 7 times. And AA said they would get my bag off but they did not and now I have to wait at JFK and hope it got rerouted here. And if it didn’t to hope it can on another flight before I hopefully actually get on a flight for Rio. Nobody has comped me for losing a day in Rio and for my hotel room. And this has been the worst flight exeperience or my life which unfortunately landed on my birthday. One I’ll remember in a sad and bad way. American Airlines refused to compensate me because I got my tickets via Kayak and I haven’t been able to find a number to complain to a Kayak agent whom I sure would say I had to contact American Airlines and nobody would help or take responsilvitu for this disaster."

Cons: "I booked the flight with Kayak and it showed the airline as Finnair, the flight was actually with American, no complains about it. The issue was that Kayak did not update me with the Flight number for American Airlines and kept sending me information about the flight with Finnair which was not going to actually take place. I had to actually call American and spend time with a Representative providing all the data to be able to get my American Airlines flight booking code so I could check in online. American as always was great! Shame on Kayak!"

They scheduled us a new flight with Vianca and Iberia: Bogotá-Madrid + Madrid-Brussels. My partner and I could not sit together on any of these flights! 1 of 10 hours and of 2 hours! I would NOT recommend AA to anyone! This was full responsability of AA!"

Cons: "crew was more about relaxing themselves vs. worried about passengers. Wrong priorities! They ran out of food choice by the time they got to our seating area which was at half point of the plane!"
Cons: "I was made to check my carry on in a rush because there wasn't enough space supposedly. I was told my bag would be transferred all the way to bogota. When I got on the plane I saw plenty of space AND when I got to Bogota my bag wasn't there. My carry on had my most important belongings for in case other luggage was lost. It's not faire that other passengers get to carry on suitcases and a personal item and I can not being my small backpack. It's very inconvenient since my rain gear, my shoes and my Phone chargers are in that bag."

Pros: "Originally on American. They couldn't get a door to shut so moved me to British airways. Which is much nicer anyways, so no complaints there, however, American decided they would still deliver my luggage. 24 hrs after I land, nobody knows where it is."
Pros: "We were assigned seat numbers 25a and 25B. When we got to our seats the seats were taken out to be replaced but due to the lack of mid communication with the internal staffs and the ! What??? She said there wasn't any other seats to assign us on the coach level. Then talked to the supervisor and I asked her what if if we upgrade. Then she came back and said it will cost us an additional 7700 euros to seat in the first class yes I do understand her point and told her to forget it. Then another supervisor who was a Spanish lady said to me that sorry the maintenance is falling behind due to lack of comnication and promised that our seats will be fixed soon but she said in the meantime we could find any other seats that are single and sit until ours is ready. Well the two other seats that were available at that was a seat next to the kitchen and bathroom and that also had the seats were taken out. We were very stressed and felt like we were not treated professionally. Anyway we finally got our seats back and the rest was better."

Cons: "The flight landed about 30 minutes early. We spent one hour on the tarmac waiting for a gate, resulting in us being late .. compromising many with tight connections."
Cons: "The boarding is a joke. They do not tell you which group is boarding and then turn you away if you are not in the correct group. I sat back and watched as the mob tried to board asking each other which group was boarding which no one knew. When I got up to board I asked and was told, "I held up two fingers". Personally I think using the intercom would work much better. I was thinking this was just a one time deal, however they handled it the same way on the return flight. This was the first time I used American, so I do not know if this is their standard policy, but this issue and a long list of others will make me think twice before I use them again."
