Cons: By the time I paid for my carry on roller suitcase and my purse, any cost savings to be had from Spirit were negated. On departure, the gate changed well over an hour before boarding - a fact that I only knew because I happened to catch a single audio announcement in the airport, since Spirit's site and Google's flight tracking both showed the old gate until takeoff. When I boarded I was stunned at the (lack of) quality of the seating inside - hard plastic bus terminal chairs lined in rows sported bungee cords with safety pamphlets jammed into them on their backs in lieu of seat back pockets. Naturally no reclining. We taxied for ~25m on departure and arrival, though it only makes sense that a barebones airline would settle for suboptimal runway assignment to save a buck. Just something to keep in mind in relation to total travel time. A look at the drink menu reveals surprises even for a seasoned barfly - what's this vodka I've somehow never even heard of before? How about one of those awful premixed cocktails in a cool sphere package that you see in a bin by the checkout at a cheap liquor store? If you have no bags (seriously zero bags, no purse/tote/bindle) and the $50 you save is worth it in lost time and comfort to you, go for it. Otherwise for goodness sakes just book Southwest and wind up paying less/the same to fly on a big kid airplane.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Watch out!! A carry-on that fit going one way, suddenly did NOT fit going the other way. I had to pay an additional $55 dollars to carry-on my roll bag or I wasn't getting on the plane. Also, I felt obligated to "buy" a designated seat or maybe not have a seat. Good thing, too, as the flight was overbooked. This is the worst airline ever. All they do is nickel-and-dime you. Not worth it. Pay a little more & travel in peace & comfort.

Cons: Traveled on busy travel day, got to gate with 20 min to spare, no one there or behind counter. Finally found another airline counter that heard a changed gate announcement so sent me to that gate, which wasn't close by. Got there, plane still there but, AGAIN, no one from Spriit was around. Flight then took off 5 min early and I had to go down to baggage to tell them to hold my bag that was enroute to Dallas!! Had to buy another ticket to fly next morning but on a different airline.

Cons: I came to LGA airport as Spirit airlines suggested time wise. Security line was moving slow. Made it to the gate 10 min before departure, there were already 6 passengers standing by the counter begging to be allowed on the flight since the security line 'snail' speed was to blame. One girl was already all red in her face from crying, another gentleman was taking pictures of the Spirit plane just sitting on our gate. He was posting it to the social media to leave his comments of how ridiculous all this ordeal was. We asked , explained, begged to be allowed on our purchased flight, but employees at the gate (for 1:30pm flight to Dallas, on Sunday March 25th) would not hear any of it. They were all ' politely' saying 'would you like to be put on our next flight to Dallas this Tuesday?' ( you are freaking kidding me I thought). Our plane just sat there for at least 15 more minutes. We were all watching it and couldn't believe this. We all could have already been inside of it. I fly American Airlines all the time, I've seen them allow customers on board even after the passenger list is printed at the gate. They allowed me also one time to be let in at the flight once the gate door was closed ( I had a quick connection in ORD and it was hard to make it on the other end of that airport). I should have flown with American Airlines again instead of Spirit. Spirits' cheap prices are not worth the hassle. Even one airport security employ commented how she 'hates Spirit airlines,' which really alerted me at the time, but now I completely get it. Oh, and I had checked luggage to Dallas, I paid for it on Spirit website. I regret every single dollar I gave them for this trip. All of my family, and friends I've informed of this, are staying away from Spirit Airlines from now on. And we travel at least once a month. I'm afraid we will not do business with Spirit airlines again.

Cons: When I walked in to the Spirit Airline to check in I have my mother in wheelchair she's 80 years old I was told when I checked her in luggage that I'll be charged $10 for checking in there then they told me to go to the machines to check in I went there then the call me back and they said they can do it there but customer service guy was not nice at all then another a gentleman stepped in to do his job and take me back and forth for half hour just to check in wheelchair person service and I will never recommend Spirit Airline ever again from LaGuardia Airport PS the wheelchair gentleman who help my mother he was very nice he also waited for me for half hour I tipped him $15 just to help my mother through security this was a very service from Airline

Pros: Entertainment, crew, and service were great. Captain announced kept us updated and the flight was smoothe sailing.

Cons: No room to move at all. I had an aisle seat and almost everyone bumped into me when walking by. The guy In Front of me reclined his seat and banged into my knees for 4 hours. If the inside person wanted out, we had to grab our belongings, unbuckle, and move completely into the aisle to let him out. Then do it all over again when he returned. Rediculously tight on space.

Prices are per person and are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in USD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.

If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
