Cons: "The flight wasn't full but still had some people seated next to each other. Flights should allow for social distancing right now"
Cons: "Did you know the flight was changed?? It moved from Nov 24 to Nov 25. I was never informed of this change that was supposedly made in October.. Even you (kayak) didn’t know bc you still think I took the flight that I booked on your site! I was forced to rebook with another airline and will be expecting a refund and then some and possibly dispute the charge all together."
Pros: "Efficient check in and polite crew."
Pros: "Very happy with the service and seat comfort. Thank you"
Cons: "Boarding was a disaster that took an extra 30 min"
Cons: "I was surprised by a $120 fee for luggage. I don't remember any indication from Kayak or from TAP about a luggage fee when I booked or when I got confirmation. Further, I found out that if I had indicated that I had luggage 3 days prior to checkin, I would have only been charged $92 saving me $."
Cons: "Avoid Lisbon airport and TAP Air Portugal at all costs. A 1 hour connection at the inefficient Lisbon airport resulted in a 9HOUR DELAY. MISERABLE. Air Portugal didn’t allow adequate connection time."
Cons: "Not missing our connecting flight because if flight / airport delays."
Cons: "A little too warm but not unbearable. We paid extra for seats together but did not get to pick them. We would have preferred a window but were in the middle 2 of 4."
Cons: "I arrived 13 hours late, had two extra flights. I was delayed 3 hours first flight, 1.5 hours second flight after watching two flights that I “wasn’t allowed” to be on depart right in front of me at 9 and 10 instead of the 11 that they rebooked me on. Once I landed in Lisbon after the second flight that o wasn’t supposed to take. We missed the connection by 5 minutes and there were many people flying to my same destination. I had to wait 5 hours in Lisbon when I shouldn’t have ever went to Lisbon. I bought a ticket from Newark to Zürich through Porto 10 hours in total. I think TAP overbooked everyone and seated us on purpose. The secondflight was delayed due to “bad weather” and it was perfectly nice outside. Shame on TAP. I’m sure other people are complaining."
Pros: "Excellent landing, adequate number of attendents, food served, wide aisles"
Cons: "I would not do Nee as well ll for the twwwo plus hour flight. If the center seat was occupied as there simply was no space for my knees."
Pros: "I’m taking offFlight was smooth and service was great."
Cons: "Flight was smooth and service was great. Long wait before taking off."
Pros: "Cancelled flight. Charged for bags even though we prepaid for them."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "When TAP couldn’t get me to Lisbon in time to make my connection they added a flight to Madrid where I waited until 16:00 to fly to Seville. I talked to several TAP representatives and none were helpful or apologetic and they offered me nothing for the problems they caused. I missed my only day in Seville due to this. This trip turned out to be a disaster."
Pros: "You can charge your devices (only in one plains from London to Portugal)"
Cons: "Cabin crew were far from welcoming when dealing with the African passengers (including me though I'm Spanish) the food was a disgrace On a 5 hour flight to Accra there was no entrainment, the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable and you could not even charge your devices... The food arrive way too early. I believe the airline has put less of an effort on these planes due to the nature of the passengers... I have been traveling for 20 years and I never felt so disappointed by an airline... I will not use this airline ever again"
Cons: "The plane was very small service was not good and the crew were not that friendly"
Pros: "Boarding, crew, timeliness, choice of entertainment, modern plane."
Cons: "Food could be more inspired, legroom is limited"
Pros: "Flight was only 15 minutes late"
Cons: "Food and drink (esp. non-alcoholic) is terrible. Not offering a vegetarian option - even on short haul - is ridiculous in the 21st century."
Cons: "The 2 hour delay!"
Cons: "When the flight was delayed the people at the desk did not make an announcement about the delay, what was causing it and what we could expect. People waiting had to find out through rumors. There was no good communication. We also were unable to choose our seat and were stuck in the two middle seats when there were free aisle seats still available. My controller for the tv didn't fit back into the holder easily at all and my husband got a blood blister trying to force it back in. Headrest to hold my head didn't stay put to give proper support while trying to sleep."
Pros: "Flight was delayed leaving Newark so we missed our connection in Portugal which was supposed to take us straight to Venice. Instead TAP gave us a replacement flight to Madrid and then from Madrid to Venice A FLIGHT WITH TWO STOPS IS NOT WHAT WE WANTED OR PAID FOR. Madrid was also delayed and we missed our connection to Venice. We got a new flight from Madrid to Venice and had to wait 5 hours for it. A trip from New Jersey to Venice ended up taking OVER 24 HOURS!!!! Due to the disgraceful disorganization and service of TAP PORTUGA we missed our best friends rehersal dinner a memory we would have loved to have. Extremely disorganized, terrible customer service OH AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR OUR BAGS TWICE to get reimbursed later but I don’t believe anything Tap Portugal says so we’ll see. Staff advice did not align and they were unapologetic for the experience we received."
Cons: "Everything. The travel experience was a literal nightmare and not what we paid for. It’s criminal actually."
Pros: "They solved the problem of my sit. But i almost have a hurt attack"
Cons: "When I get to check my tickets they told me that I was in stand by. I have to fight to get my sit."
Cons: "bad experience- The personnal was not that good! Lack of manners! Bording was evryone for himself; people with children left behind, evryone got in, all at once. The food was very bad, usual it is good..I dont know if i would fly again with TAP"
Pros: "Anything I liked feels inconsequential."
Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."
Pros: "Cabinstaff were friendly and professional"
Pros: "Meal was OK."
Cons: "TAP changed our seats even though we had paid extra. They were narrow and uncomfortable."
Cons: "Friendliness flight attendees Service on board Equipment/ tv Food beverage service Language skills of flight attendants"
Cons: "Poor entertainment"
Pros: "I liked being able to exit the plane at the end of the flight"
Cons: "The seats were cramped and it’s upsetting how you can’t select your own. Flying overseas for 7 plus hours it’s best not to be sandwiched in between two strangers, some of which were vomiting the entire flight due to turbulence that the pilot announced would only be minor."
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "Had to wait forever to find out Gate Number."
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "No VOD No food available in between meals"
Pros: "I got to London"
Cons: "9 hour delay"
Cons: "My round trip ticket was purchased and in the confirmation it stated that it included one free checked bag. i also went online to reserve a window seat which cost 12.95. When I got to the airport I was told I had to pay 110 for my one checked bag as well as they had moved me to an aisle seat. Basically scammed me out of 122.95. I have complained with ygthe airline and if it is not resolved I will not be flying with them again."
Cons: "There were no power outlets"
Pros: "If your traveling with a child they are the best! Legroom was good, seats were confortable, and entertainment system was great."
Cons: "Breakfast was terrible but I guess I'm lucky the served it. Didnt like that they changed the baggage policy after I purchased my ticket and wouldnt honor the old."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable with plenty of room between you and the seat in front of you. Huge plane. Very nice."
Cons: "My video screen did not have English available"
Cons: "The monitors did not work."
Pros: "Friendly crew. Good info on delay"
Cons: "No offer of coffee in businesss when woke up. Still 35-40 before landing"
Pros: "Some staff were helpful"
Cons: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."
Pros: "Friendly staff, decent food, complimentary wine!"
Cons: "Missed that flight because of previous delay"
Cons: "Paid for a seat with extra legroom because I'm 6'4". Was given a different seat and still charged."
Cons: "Entertainment system wasn't working and will restart itself during 10 minutes EVERY 10 minutes. Very inconvenient. The flight attendants were impolite too."
Pros: "Had all the wine I could drink."
Cons: "The flight was too late for our connections."
Pros: "The on-board crew was pleasant and professional unlike the check-in staff. Food was ok, landing was smooth."
Cons: "The airline makes money by having very low weight allowances on carry-on and checked luggages. The staff at the check in desk act like they are surprised and symphatetic about the overages meanwhile they enforce the weight limits to the gram. Most deplorable of all is the fact that they have one person on staff at a special desk where one can go to pay for the newly discovered overages. This desk and the person assigned to it full time is the proof that the company expects this kind of result before hand. Where on most continental flights the weight limit is usually set at 31 kilograms for checked-in baggages TAP Portugal has a limit of 23kg. Where most companies have no weight limit or around 20kg on carry-on baggage they have 8kg. The overages in weight result in a flat fee of $100 per luggage, even if the luggage is just one kilogram over the allowed limit. The low ticket purchase price is in my opinion a deplorable marketing scheme aimed at getting people to buy their tickets and then be faced with extra charges when it turns out weight alloweances are set at domestic standards."
Pros: "Everything was perfect. More than I expected and would certainly fly with them again."
Cons: "Really bad service from flight staff, they seemed totally disinterested. Menu distributed in business class was impressive, but once it was my turn to choose only one option remained. Odd it seems they had a lot of the cheaper ones, plenty of pasta, but very few servings of the other options."
Cons: "Rude staff."
Pros: "The wine"
Cons: "The entertainment platform was on the fritz the entire flight. Almost all the headphone jacks didn't work or were shorting out. This plane had the two prong headphone connectors so you are forced to use their terrible plastic ones. The legroom for an international flight was terrible, almost the same as Spirit Airlines in their economy class. The food was very bad (dried beef with noodle) and cold by the time I was served."
