Cons: "Airplane is new but chairs are made of plastic and very thin, they don't recline and you have very small space -- very uncomfortable. I flew from Miami to Vegas (5 hours) The plane flew at low altitude the entire way and went right through all storms just to save fuel/money. People were afraid for their lives because the plane was shaking so bad. I travel 1-2 weeks out of each month by plane for work and I am not afraid, I knew it was fine, but others had no idea and were very afraid. I know it is a cheap airline, but the real problem I had with them was they are not honest. Their website says that if you chose your seat online you have to pay, but if you do at check in it is free and they will try to keep your party together as long as there's seats available. Upon arriving at the counter they wanted to charge me to keep me and my fiancée together, otherwise she was at the front of the plane and I was all the way at the back. The plane had extra seats and we got there early to get assigned seats together but even the manager would not help me even after showing their website. He said the computer will make them charge me and there was no way around it. There's always a way around it. At the end of the day, paying for seats, all bags you check in or carry on, foods/drinks in the plane, I paid just as much as flying with a good airline such as Delta. I will never fly with them again, that is for sure."
Cons: "They just boarded all groups at the same time. It was chaos and caused a mess with where people were putting their bags. Also, I paid extra to board early, so this was even more frustrating. I don't like that everything is for sale. Water, carry ons, come on! You end up being more expensive than flying another airline."

However, I didn't realize I would have to pay $45 for carry on luggage, pay extra if I did want a seat in the middle, and even pay for soft drank! After factoring in all those things, it would have been a lot cheaper to use a different airline. Plus, it was by far the most uncomfortable airplane I have ever been on. No leg room, small seats that do not recline and have no cushion. Terrible experience!"

When posting the seat fees, why not also include what the "average" cost will be, say, for two, with checking one bag, and having two carry-ons? Cons: "The flight was two hours delayed. And the pilot or staff did not have the common courtesy to let us know what was happening. Pilot explained why they were delayed in landing at LGA. And it would be a two hour flight. However we waited another hour on the runway with NO updates!!! Just sitting on a plane, on a flight that was already late, was very frustrating. Frontier staff should really work on better communication. They also had an elderly woman pay $60 for her carry on. They could have waived the fee, she was elderly and she stated she wasn't aware that she had to pay for her carry on. It would have been a nice gesture when the flight was delayed."

Unable to check in online because their website was working so they charged me extra at the airport desk. The people really have no interest in helping you out which is only reflective of the upper management. For a low fare airline, it's actually pretty expensive and very unreliable. I will get my own pilot's license before I ever have to consider flying with these people again. Anyone can handle cheap travel as long as it's cheap. This is cheap travel that ends ups costing way more than American airlines or jetblue. And try putting a price on losing an entire day waiting for them to fix the plane."

Their instructions on rebooking the flight were severely insufficient and led to much frustration. My 9 am flight had to rebooked to 5:20 pm. I spent all day at the airport and no reason whatsoever was provided. No meal vouchers were provided either. That was a terrible experience."

Last and not forgotten is a non stop flight so to me al the compliance end up within 4 to 5 hours .The flight crew was very kind with the passengers."

Have you noticed that they don't allowed comments to be posted to their facebook page (because they'd get nothing but bad comments). On top of that, when I got to the front counter, where I was told that my flight was delayed 3 hrs (thanks for not texting ir emailing me about it), I asked the guy at the counter to check and see if I was still on the flight. He confirmed that I was. But when we started boarding, my ticket no longer worked and he could not find me on the flight list! Wtf??? I almost got left out of th plane because of what???"

The the service at the Oakland airport was terrible, the people working at the Spirit gate had very bad attitude, one of them was called Lavinia, worker ID 34448, and her coworker was horrible too, unfortunately I didn't get her name. I will not book spirit anymore."

Cons: "I had a connecting flight form San Jose to Chicago in Fort Lauderdale. Both Flights were Spirit. Had around 2 yrs to get from my flight from San Jose to the chocago flight. By the time i went thru customs (huge line) then thru security (another huge line) i got the the gate at 7:38 A. M. My flight was scheduled to leave at 7:42 A.M.. I understand that you do need to close your gates a little earlier, but i was not the only one that had the same itenerary and missed the flight. Its just hard to understand that you must have a record of who is missing on that flight and since you know they are at the airport (because we came in from San Jose on your flight) not to at least wait until 7:42 to close the gates. There was no one at the gate, the gate was closed as we watched the airplane sit there without moving for at least another 10 minutes. Its beyond logic and the only way i can explain that in my mind is that your record of competing with other airlines of being on time is more important to the airline than the customers themselves. Which is very sad. Then i stood in line for one and a half hours just so i can speak to someone on what my next step should be. Do you have any idea how stressful it is to miss your flight and then have to stay in line for another hour and a half in that stress? As i stood there and watched the couple in front of me being in distress and his girlfriend crying i realized how unfriendly Spirit Airlines is ti its cutomers. Then finally i get to the representitve to be told i can get a flight out at 6:15 P.M. That is 10 and half hours later. So i inquired, can we use another airline or even an alternative airport to resolve the long wait, of course i was told no without any explanation. So, i had my office search for a flight for me and they found one for 101.00 to Midway with Southwest Airlines leaving at 10:15 A.M., but since i was in a different terminal and would have to go thru security, i would not make it. Very frustrating to think since your air line is the one that propsed the itenerary for me, would not back me up when i missed the flight with no fault of mine. Afterall, Spirit sold me that Itenerary, they should have been aware that it can take longer than two hours to make it to the next flight. But, what really has me steaming is you could not even have more than one person to help at the counter for the people that missed their flight, because if you DID then i could have had time to book the Southwest flight. Due to your lack of concern about the customers in general my company nor I will ever use your services again. I know that probably doesnt break your heart, but me being in business now for well over 30 years,i can gaurantee you eventually if you do not change your practices, it will affect your bottom line. One last note. I overheard another frustrated customer asking if they will give him any food vouchers, and he was stared down for a few seconds and then a simple "no"."
