Overbooked flight led to a 30 minute delayed departure trying to get 3 volunteers to accept $1000 vouchers and a next day flight. This was an older configured aircraft without charging ports and with headphone plugs in the armrests. Bathrooms were tinier than most. Crew was friendly. Food was limited to a small snack bag and a mini cola.

Delay on the time

Cons: "The flight was 2 hours delayed because there was a mechanical issue on the plane. We sat and waited on the plane for 1 hour while the Maintenance crew tried fixing the problem. After sitting there for one hour, they told us the problem wasn’t fixed and we have to change aircrafts. The other aircraft was all the way in terminal D (we were in terminal A) and the boarding process took a long time. Overall it was an awful flight and experience with American Airlines. I missed my mother’s birthday party because of the 2 hour delay."

I had originally booked a flight through Miami with plenty of layover time to get a connecting flight to Dallas, but AA canceled that one and put me on a connection the following day! When I called customer service, they were helpful in regards booking and assured me there would be plenty of time to connect through Charlotte. When our plane landed 35 minutes late, there was only 15 minutes to connect, and we waited for baggage that whole time. No idea what took baggage so long, but the result is that we missed our flight. AA did put us on standby for the next one, but that meant our relative had to pick us up at midnight."

I also wouldn't have to annoy my neighbor with trying to move and get comfortable. But instead the exact opposite happened and I'm offended you guys have America anywhere near your name."

Cons: "At Heathrow -- The passengers were sent thru three security checks to get into the boarding lounge...after the TSA standard check. There were no bathrooms, no water and not enough seats for everyone. It was hot, loud and there was no exit once you entered. This is one of the worst pre-boarding situations I have ever had, ever. The security people were unnecessarily slow and difficult."

Cons: "I arrived at the airport 2 hours before my flight as suggested (especially during busy summer travel), boarded the plane, and waited on the plane for about 55 minutes for 4 people who were late to make the flight. This was announced to us as we sat down. I've only ever been late once on a flight (as a teenager) and the plane was still at the terminal but the gate was closed.... I was told there was no way they were opening the doors for me. Since then, I make it a point to be early and if necessary, have plenty of time between connections because of delays. I was shocked waiting almost the same time as the length of the flight for a few people who were late. They could have been placed on a later flight (I saw there were plenty of flights). Also, why trouble the majority of travelers for a small minority? I haven't flown American in a while because of other past experiences and spent a lot of time looking at delay history for this particular flight before giving AA another try. I am once again reminded of why I avoid traveling AA and why other people speak poorly of it. PS In the future, give travelers timely, honest updates so that people aren't siting in their seats staring at the door for an hour waiting for someone to walk in so we can take off. I don't know who these people were, how they were connected, and what kind of money they paid you guys but it was all around unprofessional. I know I wasn't the only unhappy traveler. Please get your act together American, you used to be great."

I like to check in before hand , have boarding pass in hand but my counter check in was fast and easy with no additional fees. Clean new planes"

Cons: "Well, the tray tables were about 5in x 8in and didn't slide forward, rendering it useless for basically anything. A laptop wouldn't fit anyway, but since it didn't slide out, the screen would have been tilted too far forward to properly see it as it was up against the seat and it was too unstable not to also hold my laptop while I sat there. With significantly less leg room than I've previously experienced on an economy class flight, laying down on the tray table to sleep was also impossible. When I first got on the plane, the air conditioner started and rather than feeling comfortable and less sweaty and gross, I just began to smell stale air that I was almost convinced was carbon monoxide as I was flying from Seattle and there had been smoke all around Washington due to forest fires. It was horribly uncomfortable and annoying even for sitting in coach. And I wasn't on an older or smaller airplane where I'd expect a little less concern for comfort, it seemed like it was very modern and it was a very large place. Leg room could have easily been increased by losing one to two rows of seats (seats that would most likely be empty anyway I might add). Airplanes tend not to be the most comfortable mode of travel anyway, but I would say this was the worst one."

Only received water and a small granola bar after the third hour on the tarmac began. Pilot kept saying 30 more minutes, 30 more minutes. All in all it was just over 4 hours from the time I boarded to the time I took off."

Cons: "Seating brings new low to airline comfort. At average height I still felt boxed in to rigid uncomfortable seating. In a market where check in bags and choosing seats are sadly common fees, paying an outrageous $40 for a carry on bag is a new low in customer service offered."

Cons: "Almost missed my flight because there were so few attendents at the baggage drop. I waited 38 minutes just to drop my bag (excluding wait time to lrint my boarding pass). The attendents were rude. I was charged 40 dollars for a carry on bag. The seats were horrifically uncomfortable. I was given half a cup of water only on the flight. The lights were on and bright throughout the entire overnight flight. The seats don't decline, nor do they have much cushioning. Honestly, everything was so disorganized that when it came tome to land, I was scared it might be the last breath of my life because the quality of servuce had been so bad, I wasn't sure if the pilot was even certified to be a pilot. Luckily, I did not die. I will never fly Frontier again and am far less likely to use Kayak because of this horrible flight."
Pros: "It is incredibly deceptive during the initial purchasing phase that Frontier advertises their flights as one of the lowest fares song others, but does not include a carry on, checked bag, or even a seat. Anyone would be better off simply booking with an airline that already includes those basic necessities in their initial cost. I will not be booking with Frontier again, and I will also recommend that my friends and acquaintances follow suit."

Flight attendants carried permanent grimace and you could tell they didn't enjoy their jobs, all snacks charged, no entertainment, charged $60 for a carry on bag going one way. I was not made aware of fee beforehand.I will never fly this airline again following my non-refundable return flight. I am not looking forward to flying back home through this airline."
Pros: "It's cheap. Well, the baseline ticket at least. For this flight, I wasn't bringing any luggage (it was a short flight as part of a move, and all of my things were being carried via other means), so it made sense."
Cons: "The airline nickel and dimes you for everything. Carry-on or checked bags will cost you. A drink on the plane will cost you. We were delayed about 20 minutes getting on the plane and then sat on the runway for over an hour before we left. The last 20 minutes of that was due to wind reducing available runways for all departures and arrivals, but the first runway delay was caused by not one but two maintenance issues. Frontier actually just finished replacing their old planes with newer plans that have more uncomfortable seats with tiny trays and no on-board entertainment. For a short flight, it's not horrific, but for a cross-country journey, it's highly uncomfortable. The crew are just "there." Gone are the days of a warm cookie when you sit down. I've never had happy or friendly attendants, either. They do their job at the minimum. Slow to respond to guest issues and I've seen them be a bit rude with customers as well. I've had issues in the past with Frontier and lost luggage and lacking customer service. I only went with them this time because I wasn't bringing kids or luggage and just needed a cheap one-way. Otherwise I would never fly them."

Theres was I see now why the ticket, was cheap, because you pay for EVERYTHING else... And I do mean EVERYTHING! I normally fly with United, but I found this cheap ticket and got baited in. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Ill pay the extra money for comfort on a 5 hr flight. NEVER AGAIN SPIRIT!!!"

I ended up paying more then double for my flights in the end of all the trouble they put me through. Cancelling my flights for no reason and charging me to rebook on THE SAME FLIGHT I WAS SCHEDULED TO BE ON. They also charged me twice and refused a refund, even if it's a mistake and their fault, they only do "credit" not refunds. They STOLE from me and then said too bad."

Cons: "Boarding was funny because 90% of the flight was group 4 (it seemed) so boarding 1-3 beforehand was kinda unnecessary considering no one was even in that group. I packed light (thankfully) but the thought of paying for carry on is laughable if anyone actually paid. I'd rather just check my bag if I have to pay to carry it on anyway. A little ridiculous to charge for carry on, just make people check their bag if there isn't enough space in flights."

Cons: "I tried to check in online but it was a convoluted and confusing process, especially on my phone which is all I had access to. I didn't think it would be a problem though, I would just check in upon arrival. I woke up at 5:00 AM, left the house at 5:30 and got to the airport, attempting to check in at 6:18 am for a 7:00 am flight. I was told by an extremely rude agent, that the cut off was at 6:15 am. I was floored. My plane wasn't even boarding yet and there was barely a security line at that point in the morning. Also, I was only three minuntes after the cutoff. She looked at the clock and told me, well not it's already 6:22 and we cut off the check ins on time. You can take the next available flight. At 7:00 PM, for an additional $99. It was Monday morning and I ended up missing half the day of work and spending an additional $230 to fly Southwest out of Burbank. I didn't even get a refund or credit for my flight. I've never been treated so rudely (I spared the details) and I've flown many times back and forth between LA and the Bay and never missed a flight for any reason. I will never fly spirit airlines again and I've told all my friends and family (and ineveitabke my coworkers as well given the circumstances) and many of them are also not going to be flying inn spirit any longer. The airline is not even a discount compared to southwest flights and its way less convenient, on top of the terrible service and credit card pitch once you're onboard. Tasteless, cutthroat, and intentionally confusing and punitive with charges. You might think you are getting a bargain with Spirit, when actually you are getting way more BS than you bargained for."

I had tried to check it in early online but their mobile functionality doesn't handle payments. So that was $50. When we arrived they were highly disorganized and it wasn't clear what line to get into. Let's just assume that's just part of an airport experience. We get to the gate, and see that the flight has been delayed an hour. We decide to hang out there and learn over the intercom that the flight was delayed 2 more hours. Did they update the screen? Nope. Less than 20 minutes later they were boarding. It gets better though! After partly boarding the flight, they made everyone get out. We were grounded for a long time before and after landing without adequate information from the pilot on why or for how long. Finally when it got to the point I was going to pass out they wouldn't give me water because "I had the entire flight to make a purchase." Never again!! Never!!!"

Was not given my flight info, had to call for it because the online log in said "no itineraries found" when I did have a flight so I had to call and be on hold for 20 minutes before someone would email me my itinerary. Seats do not go back. Flight pricing, I felt tricked and like I was scammed. Nothing is included. Everything is so expensive."

It felt like we were sitting in a bare plastic container. The fare for this last trip appealed to me until I went to check in and was charged an extraordinary amount for checking a bag and for bringing a carry on on the plane. And then the charge to pick a seat? Please... the fare for this flight ended up being more than my return flight on a more premium airline where I would have gotten to select my seat and fly more comfortably. Worst policies ever. I will never be flying spirit again. That being said, I arrived to my destination safely."

Cons: "CARRY-ONS cost money. They cost more money if you don't buy them ahead of time. It costs extra to CHECK IN WITH AN AGENT. The airline is not upfront about any of this. These charges supposedly keep the cost of the ticket low: You only pay for exactly what you want (ie: if you don't have carry-ons, you can get away with paying less.). This is bullshit. They charge for WATER— tap water— on the plane. It is purely a money making scheme. They don't have repeat customers because they are awful. Oh and the seats are tinier than any flight I've ever been on. Truly the worst flying experience of my life."
