Cons: "For some reason the airplane left the gate about 40 minutes late. It was also very difficult to hear the announcements from the flight deck. The only announcement that came through loud and clear was the spiel for the Alaska Airlines credit card."

Cons: "One particular flight attendant purposely ignored me when I tried to ask for cream and sugar for my coffee which she did not offer when handing out drinks. Then she looked right at me twice as I tried to give her my garbage which she was collecting, but she ignored me again and left me holding my garbage until a different flight attendant came much later and took it without incident. It made me wonder if it was because I looked Asian- she was helpful and polite to the white women next to me. I was polite and was not being difficult in any way. I'm half white, but was often treated like this in Illinois when I was growing up. She should have been professional and if she had I would have rated the trip as excellent."

Both flights leaving Denver to Seattle and Seattle to Eugene Oregon were delayed rerouted my flight return flight was cancelled and I was put on a flight that would not get me back to Denver in time for my flight back to Boston had to call and rearrange that that made me have to fly out of Portland instead of Eugene very inconvenient then that morning's flights both delayed sitting for half an hour on the runway and then 45 minutes on the runway will not fly Alaska again"

Cons: "I was not allowed to use the restroom when we still had 20 minutes or so to land. As they were collecting final garbage, the restrooms were locked and I was not allowed to use them. I can understand cutting off the use of them once the flight crew is seated but they were still walking around and I really had to go. I don't recall a warning for this. If there was an announcement it was not audible over the hum of the engine. I'm very dissatisfied about that final part of my experience."

I thought I'd purchased on Delta but it turned out that my ticket was Utah Alaska. Luckily the Eugene airport is small and friendly and they got it all figured out."

Cons: "Barely any free snacks, aside from water. Everything either needed to be paid for or was advertised in a way that eventually got annoying and overwhelming. I felt less like I was on an airplane and more at one of those promotion things where you have to sit in an uncomfortable chair for three hours listening to a guy in a suit talk about boats before you can get a free fast pass ticket to a ride at Disneyland."

Cons: "The fact that the lack of knowledge regarding international travel visas by the counter staff and supervisor meant that two days of the vacation were lost. Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

Cons: "I purchased a basic economy ticket and upon checking in, my Delta app said my seat was unassigned and I had to get my boarding pass at the airport. I checked back later and the app had me as number 7 on the standby list. I called Delta (wait time 3+ hours... my flight was in 3), and then the Delta app support where I was able to get through to someone. She told me that the ticket I purchased over a month in advance did not guarantee me a seat on the plane (???). She said that if I was bumped from the flight they would reschedule me for the next morning. She was pretty rude and made it seem like I had a 50/50 shot of getting on this plane. I rushed to the airport in hopes that I would be the first from Standby there, and the gate agent told me that I was fine and would board right after first class and be assigned a seat then. Great. Once I got my seat assignment, I board to find out there is someone else sitting in my seat...... They eventually called the desk and had her moved, but it was the weirdest boarding experience I've had.. and I've flown Spirit. These planes that Delta fly's are SO OLD. Both times I have flown Delta the "turbulence" has been so bad and cold air was blowing right on my the whole flight with no option to turn it off (it wasn't from one of the vents, but from the side). Someone close to me works for Delta and I know for a fact that some of their engines blow mid-flight.. and they tell the passengers that it's turbulence.. so that doesn't make me feel very safe. I won't fly Delta again if there is another comparable option."

Cons: "I chose my seats when I purchased tickets thru Expedia. Then for some reason Delta wouldn't allow me to keep my seats and I had to have them assigned at boarding. Why? What causes this? I was stuck in the back of the small jet from Minneapolis to Cwa when there were a few open seats in the middle. Disappointed. I won't be choosing Delta in the future!"

Pros: "I trusted Delta to take of my clients; Delta usually did. Rather, the employees of Delta did. Now when I travel, I prefer Delta (when they aren't too much more economically). Let me change that to I used to prefer Delta, because the times, they are achanging. My home airport is Atlanta, I'm usually traveling to Seattle or Portland; Delta is king in those routes. There's more flight time options, and the entertainment available is better."
Cons: "Here's where the picky comes in. I downloaded the 'Go Go" wifi app beforehand. When I tried to connect I received a message that it wasn't available on my routes. Why couldn't they tell me that it might not work on my routes before they took my money? Further, why wasn't it available? It's not like I was going on a multi city/country trip, this was Atlanta to Portland non-stop. Then there's the 'Premier Seating". I opted for it on my outbound flight and received TSA Pre Check. I didn't buy the seating coming back; I did not receive TSA Pre Check. Coincidence? My fare was more than Alaska Airlines was offering it for, I paid for the wifi that didn't work, and in order to avoid the back of the plane, you must pay. So, I guess I'll be going to Alaska Airlines. They don't have as many flights, but I don't feel dinged for more money every time I turn around."

I was unable to take this flight so I had to wait 4 1/2 hours for the next available flight to Dallas. I will try to avoid connecting through Chicago or Charlotte since there are limited flights through those cities. American did change my flight for no charge."

Cons: "Before we boarded I listened to a couple described how they always went ahead in line at boarding because no one ever stopped them. They described how they waited until group 3 was called and then went right through. While we were waiting, we watched them do it again. If you need to cram people into tiny spaces to be profitable, then you cannot allow them to make it worse by putting back their seats. I spent 90 minutes with a seat back jammed into my chest. We were ignored when handing out snacks, probably because we were invisible behind the seats pushed in our faces. It was one of the most miserable flights I’ve experienced."

Cons: "As a handicaped disabled not able to walk and should be using a wheel chair,as I know from my many previous travels with other companies like lufthanza, klm..etc, I used to be the first traveller to go to the air craft when loading it to take off and the last one who would be leaving it after landing. Even when going through the check and security points I used to go in a special route especially for the handicaped but going with all other normal travelers lines with such amount of time waiting and crowdness is completely inconvenient. what happened through the trip was quit different , going with the travelers or after when they are boarding the craft make it very hard and time consuming , Wish you take care of it, as it's a very important handicaped service. Cons: "My flight Paris/London/Manchester?Chicago was the mos impleasant experience I ever had. On July the flight was schedule for 9...pm then delayed for two hours because of a fire, other passengers said, in London. At around 11pm, we were asked to line up for boarding. We stayed on line for an hour and fnally to be told the flight was cancelled. We were treated less than animals by British Airway. No ACCOMODATION!!!!!!!! No ACCOMODATION!!!!!!! We slept on benches at the airport. To be fair to you, I will not recommend British Airway to anyone."

Cons: "American Airlines has terrible customer service. We were unable to board our flight at the Philadelphia airport because when we arrived (almost 2 hours before our flight) the ticket counter was already closed for the evening. No one from American Airlines could help us. We were left stranded at the ticket counter until it reopened at 3:15 am. We are very disappointed and disgusted with the poor service we received from American Airlines. After hearing multiple horror stories from others, it is safe to say we will never fly that airline again."

Cons: "Checked in online on Finnair and automatically for the second connecting flight...and not the first -AA. So, had to check-in again for the first flight at the terminal. Board passes were printed 2 out of 3 by AA and both had errors - wrong gate for the first flight and no boarding info for the second connecting flight - just blank! AA did not provide connecting info until I found an unoccupied employee at the terminal and customer service lines were about 20 people in 2 locations I went to. The connecting info should be in the itinerary they said at customer service...nope, it was not there either!"

Cons: "The gate agent made us starting in boarding group 6 out of 9 to check sizes of bags in the size box and she got into a verbal fight with another passenger. One guy told her she could board but the gate agent said no it didn't fit and she couldn't board. Then the agent claimed she had to gate check her bag and claimed there were no overhead spaces left. So everyone after that had to gate check. When I boarded there were at least 8 empty bins and I had not even gotten to my seat in row 22. The gate agent lied and slowed down the entire boarding process because she want to win a fight and show dominance over a passenger."

Cons: "A passenger caused a delay in security, and as I'm rushing for the gate, the agent closed the door and told me I couldn't board. She then marked me as a no-show, while she was standing right next front of her. I had to spend the next 4 hrs on the phone, trying to get my tickets sorted out. Then, upon arriving at Heathrow,... No luggage. They told me it was still in Chicago. Upon finally receiving my bags, I find them full of sawdust and sand, and several items damaged. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again, and I will highly recommend to my friends and family to avoid them like them plague. Horrible service! Nothing but a run-around and not once did the agents apologise, even after admitting that my problems on this journey were due to a mistake made by one of their agents."

Pros: "The flight was quite emty and instead of packing everyone in the same area, we all had a row for ourselves which was very enjoyable. Flight crew was very nice"
Cons: "The interview by a British Airway agent before the flight. I have been to the USA many times and I totally understand this type of interview, but the agent was aggressive, asking questions that were totally irrelevant. She did not even care about why I was going to the USA or where I was staying. Se was rude and I was really unpleased by her attitude saying it was British Airways way off doing interviews. Again I have had many interviews before flying to the USA, never been a bad exerience before"

Pros: "Boarding and flight were on time."

Cons: "My flight was delayed 4 times from Columbus to Chicago due to an ATC issue in Chicago. On the 4th delay announcement I had to rebook my international flight for the following day because my connection was leaving Chicago while I was still in Columbus. I had to rebook and get a hotel for the night on my own expense since American Airlines won't pay if it is weather related even though the weather was not the issue, rather air traffic control. The plane we got the next day was a smaller uncomfortable plane with zero entertainment and a crew that projected they would rather be anywhere else. I don't blame them, my experiences with American Airlines had been progressively getting worse."

Tiny whiff of a tray, not big enough to hold a laptop, but wait, you can't open the laptop screen anyway, no space at all to work: elbows bent, screen facing down. Basically you take this airline if you are OK with a bus-like experience that is shorter and cheaper than riding the bus. The bus takes 1 day, 5 hours, and 20 minutes for USD $153. Frontier (door to door) takes 6 hours (2 hours in air, 2 hours each city for airport and ground transfer time) for USD $49."

Cons: "The flight attendants spent most of the flight giggling at the front of the plane, and had to stop and restart several announcements after saying the wrong thing or having to take a break to stop laughing on the intercom. They also gave me a credit card pitch over the intercom, which was really annoying. The plane was pretty dirty, my tray was really gross with white stuff all over it, and the trash in the bathroom was overflowing, so I had to stuff my paper towel in there to get it to fit. I just wanted a cheap airline, but they split up your group unless you pay extra, and you have to pay for EVERYTHING, including any drinks or snacks. Bags were expensive. I ended up paying almost $700 on a flight that was supposed to be about $450. $21 each way per person to sit with eachother, like $50 for a single checked back each way, blah blah blah. Poor experience, and it was MORE expensive than the other flights with bags and seats included. The lines were also extremely long with only a single person at each stand in each airport."

I told him I would also like to add my ktk aka pre check on to my ticket and he said he couldn’t do it. It seemed like he didn’t know what to do. I almost missed my flight due to not having pre check on my ticket. Every airline I’ve flown has never gave me this problem. I get anxiety more than most people do and this guy just made it even worse. I ensured I gave my the right numbers/letters for my pre check and he still couldn’t get on the ticket. I will never fly frontier airlines due to this"

Cons: "I got a notification that my 11:20AM flight from MIA to ORD is delayed for 5 minutes. Upon arrival in airport, I was told that there's a mechanical problem with the plane in ORD and that the plane hasn't left ORD (flight time 3:20). Thankfully, we had a place to stay for a day so we asked to be re-booked for the flight for the next day. Others took a refund and went to book a flight on a different airlines. Others had to wait until arrival of equipment and their plane didn't leave until 8:15PM that day (meaning they had to be in the airport for 9 hours!) I understand that the airline has limited amount of equipment and crews, but earlier notification would have been appreciated"

Cons: "It showed in my booking that I can carry a Carryon bag but had to oay ectra 50$ for the same as only a personal item was allowed. I found the service totally unsatisfactory. The website shouldn't make false claims if they cannot adhere to it. I will definitely avoid using this for my bookings again."

Cons: "With no first class or priority seating, it makes no sense to board the plane from front to back. It creates a jam of people just standing around waiting for those in front. The flight itself was fine, seats don't mean back at all, leg room is minimal and they don't fill in emergency row seats unless you pay $50 for them. Other airlines require they are filled before they fly. This particular flight was very, very warm and stuffy. The air that was blowing from above us was warm/hot the entire flight. Most of the passengers were sniffling and/or coughing by the end of the flight just because of the heat. Maybe it's a ploy to make people buy their overpriced beverages..."

Cons: "crowded seats, no room for my knees, since the kids behind us had little room they were constantly kicking our seats and crying, the aisles were too narrow, the seats were uncomfortable, we did not understand that we had to pay an extra chg for our seats which should be part of the original charge (that's ridiculous!), had to pay an unbelievable extra chg for something to drink, and then if that wasn't bad enough, we had to wait for over an hour for our luggage! Never again will we book Frontier!"

Cons: "Only airline in the airport with delays from a snow storm 3 days ago!! About 7 hours in the airport with multiple delays before it was canceled. No other flights available for a week. Refunds available (supposedly) but had to wait in lines over 10hours long or through their phone service with significant waits before being routed to their website which was pointless. Some people were waiting over 10 hours to pick up their checked bags from previously canceled flights. Hundreds of flights were canceled the day before as well. Again, this was the only airline in the airport with these issues. Other flights were leaving without problem. I will never fly frontier again."

Cons: "One of the single worst travel experiences of my life. There was a winter storm in Oregon that resulted in me getting to the airport at 6:13p, Three minutes after the 45 minute time limit to check in at the counter for Frontier flights. The flight was originally scheduled to leave at 6:55p. There were already other people there trying to check in and no agent to be seen, thus it seems improbable that somebody was there at 6:10, which is when they were supposed to wait to check people in. Due to the storm, the flight was ultimately delayed until 7:30p, so there was plenty of time to get at least some, and perhaps all, of the thirty plus people who showed up after 6:10, but before 6:30, onto the flight. At 7:15 THREE Frontier agents came to the counter and began working to reschedule the people who were trying to get on flight 784. If ONE of the agents had stayed behind at the gate, this could have all been obviated and we could have gotten on the flight no problem. Instead, the first available flight that they offered to reschedule us on was Saturday, 12/17, and that was not a guaranteed departure. The flight we were supposed to leave on was scheduled for 12/14. It is unconscionable for the Frontier agents to not realize that at least a third of their plane was missing and would be showing up late to check in due to adverse weather. Like I mentioned, all they had to do was leave one agent at the counter to help people out as they arrived, or have a functioning computer system so that we could print out our boarding passes from the kiosk instead of seeing messages instructing us to check in with the phantom agent at the counter. This is just my personal nightmare experience with Frontier. After talking with people after this experience this is apparently common. How they stay in business operating like this is beyond me. Never Again! Consider yourself warned..."

Got to new gate and gate was changed again. 1st flight I went to the counter and the lady there did not call out the gate had been changed. Once I inquired she laughed and then it was like someone hit her on the head and she went oh yeh... Then called it over the PA. At 2nd gate same thing except another passenger inquired and then with her loud voice announced it... Not the person at counter. Flight home oh good lord, people who took our seats were drunk and they were very loud and rude. Guy next to me was drunk and oh my very crude.... Flight attendants ignored the guy next to them and me about the behavior. I finally had to smack the guys hand off my leg and yes it was reported to the attendant who did nothing. Oh and I had tried to check a gun and the guy broke my case, my husband came to get gun and I was told I did not get my $ 35 back for the checked item??? Would like my money back for that one Worst flight and communication ever"

Cons: "I fly a lot and have taken a fair share of disappointing flights but this one certain hits the top. The boarding process was chaotic; the woman at the counter was down right rude and did not once make eye contact. The flight crew was close to useless when people were taking too long to be seated or placing bags in the overhead. I cannot rate food or entertainment because frontier is too cheap to even hand out tiny bags of mixed nuts. You certainly pay for what you get. Then we all waited 45 minutes for our bags to be unloaded at baggage claim. That is an unacceptable amount of time! Only for me to realize my bag was lost and somewhere in Mississippi. I've been traveling as a frequent flyer member on united and American for five years and I was considering joining frontier'/ program but after this experience I need to reevaluate."

Cons: "There are hidden costs (checked and carry on bags plus reserving a seat) which make frontier not as affordable as they appear. The seats are very uncomfortable and now they have no real tray tables anymore (except in the first 3 rows--which you can pay extra for). Additionally, the checked luggage has taken up to 30 mins to arrive on multiple occasions. Frontier has become a terrible airlines that cares more about their bottom line rather than sustaining the customers who are responsible for their bottom line."

Cons: "I showed up to get boarding pass and no one was at counter. I waited and when she finally showed up she wouldn't let me check my bag that I already paid for online saying I must be there 45 min prior. I was exactly 45 min prior but waited for someone to come check me in. Therefore I JD to open up my suitcase and throw away every product I had since I was carrying my bag on. Trying to rack my brain if that was everything I ran to security. They ran my suitcase through scanner and checked my suitcase 3 times which took a very long time all bc of a wine key I had and forgot about. Finally finished I ran to my gate only for them to tell me it was too late. I am a frequent flyer and am very aware of what to take and not to take on a carry on. But bc it was supposed to be a checked bag it was a nightmare. I have never missed a flight and I have always gone through every airport in the states and internationally quickly and stress free. I will not be flying with frontier again."

Cons: "-$30 (at least) for ONE carry-on. Some people had a personal item only. I then noticed that at boarding, the attendent didn't seem to be checking people's ticket and wether or not they had a carry-on. ಠ_ಠ -When you check-in online, they make it look like you have to pay for your actual seat. ($13-30) I was shocked. However, I realized later that if you scroll down all the way, there's a "skip" option. Turns out, you're paying to reserve a seat, versus them automatically picking one for you later. ಠ_ಠ I was a little upset when I realized this. -my tray table was the size of an ipad mini -they've shaved a few inches off of everything, so it was a tight fit. -everything but water costs money. Soda is 1.99 for an 8 oz can. -no tv, no headphone jack in the arm rest."

Pros: "The crew were the best flight crew I have had, funny, enthusiastic, happy to help and very friendly. If all your crews were like that it would be awesome"

Cons: "The highway to the airport in Phoenix was shut down due to a murder on the highway. I took an alternate route. Then the construction at the airport and the signage was terrible. I stood in line curbside to check my bag at what I thought was frontier but it was delta. By the time I got to the frontier desk, they closed the flight. They said they could get me on the flight but not my bag. My bag had my sales materials in it. It had to go with me. I ended up on a United Flight. Cancelled Frontier and they charged me 99.00 to cancel!!! And I had trip protection but it does not cover incidents like this! UGH! It was my first experience with Frontier. I did not know they were fee heavy. I will not fly them again."

Pros: "I sat in the first row, so the leg room was pretty good."
Cons: "Kayak quoted ticket prices in search results that were not consistent and I didn't know off the top of my head that Frontier makes you pay for all luggage, even carry ons. The woman at the ticket counter did not notice my luggage and let me know that I needed to pay extra for it, so I paid twice as much at the gate ($60) after being pulled out of the boarding line. These results should be marked differently so it's not so difficult to figure out which tickets are actually less expensive. Only water on the flight (unless you want to buy a can of soda for $5), only one chance to get water, food is also only for purchase. No entertainment options. An oil slick of grease and grime over my window. Very, very unimpressed."

Pros: "The actual flight itself was smooth and as expected."
Cons: "Everything else but the actual on air time itself was awful. At ORD the lines were short/fast but the agent was a little rude, it was my first time flying Frontier so I just had a few questions and she made me feel like I was annoying her or wasting her time. At the gate the boarding process was as expected, except I think the gate agent could have done a bit better crowd control, it was really cumbersome to get across the multitudes of people with unassigned seats or later zones that were clogging up the entrance just standing there. The flight was smooth. Upon arrival at PHX luggage took upwards of 30+ minutes to arrive and some passengers had to wait much longer. My luggage arrived damaged. I filed a report at the Frontier desk but their response was to ask me to leave my broken luggage there, take my items in clear trash bag and wait for a voucher. How am I supposed to take my items to a hotel for business meetings in a trash bag? That's not an acceptable solution to a problem I did not create, baggage handlers did it. When I got to the hotel I realized that the items I had on the front pocket of my luggage were tampered with and one item was missing. I was told I could go spend the money to replace my luggage and bring them back the receipt, and then leave them the broken luggage cause and I quote "you can't have it all". What does that even mean? I can't have MY luggage? That I brought in perfect condition and the baggage handler broke? Come on. They did not explain if they would offer a refund immediately upon receiving my receipt, it was all very rushed and vague and I was going to miss my transport so I had to leave. They did not give me a claim number or a number to call back at. Nothing. I wasn't even being rude or loud or annoyed like some customers get when these things arise. I understood perfectly that it was an accident and these things happen, but I still deserved a proper response and decent treatment, since I just paid $45 for a checked bag only to have it be broken. On the day of my departure from PHX I arrived at the airport on time, 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier from my departure. I stood in line at Frontier for an entire hour to check in my luggage even though I had checked in online and already paid my fee. I asked if there was a place for people who already were checked in and a rude airport staff member told me to just "get back in line". After waiting in line for that long suddenly the desk agent yells to all the passangers from a flight to Denver to move up to the front of the line, so about 100 or more people move ahead of me despite the vast majority of them having arrived late. I understand their flight was leaving earlier but what about our flight? How is it reasonable or fair to reward people for being late and make people who have been dutifully and calmly waiting in line FOR AN HOUR standing with heavy bags wait even longer? The whole thing was just terrible!"

Cons: "When I arrived at the airport (pdx) I was informed immediately that I would be refunded. I knew before hand, via Google, that my flight would be delayed so I checked in at the counter to make sure I would be able to make my second flight from Denver to San Antonio, when I walked up to the counter, they asked for my name and then golf me I would need to be refunded. At this time, I tried to find out if they had another flight to San Antonio only to have the woman helping me ask "do you want me to refund the money or not? I'm about to press send." I'm sure that had the flight actually existed, I would be able to give a better review and I don't really want to mark down the crew for something, I imagine, was out of their control, but I can't give them any stars as my interaction with the staff was very limited to just the ticket counter. I will most likely NEVER fly with Frontier again based off of this experience."

Pros: "The independent (contracted, non-fronteir employees) wheelchair assist personnel were excellent."
Cons: "Everything. The young lady who checked us in at the ticket counter should be fired. Rude, uninterested, snotty and unhelpful. Employees at the gate, did not help us at all, and I was in a wheelchair, with a cast on my leg, carrying a crutch and a small bag. No assistance getting on or off the plane. And, the stewardess did not assist me to store my crutch for the flight. Simply pointed at the overhead bin. Using the overhead bin annoyed everyone around me it took up so much space, and it was a full flight. The seats were terrible,no padding, I sore after an hour and had to stand on and off for the duration of the flight."

Cons: "The discount terminal at LAX was a zoo. The flight was pushed back multiple times, with gate changes, and I think we left almost three hours after the scheduled departure. There was little acknowledgment of the delay -- something like a free beverage would have been nice to make up for the scheduling inconveniences. The flight itself was very spartan and the lack of cushioning or reclining made it a pretty uncomfortable few hours. After touchdown, we were on the tarmac for at least forty minutes waiting for a gate to open up. This was not a good experience -- I felt like a fifth-class (or lower!) traveler and I will probably pay a little more to avoid flying with this airline in the future."

Pros: "Nothing. Frontier is simply dismal. Don't make the mistake of ever flying with them."
Cons: "I had flown with Frontier previously, and so I didn't have initial qualms about booking a flight with them again. What I discovered is that in the past few years, Frontier was sold and the new owner has turned it into the worst airline on earth (literally ranked). Frontier's new game is to deceptively price their flights low so they are selected by people who book through 3rd party websites (we booked through Kayak). Around 35% of all flights are booked through 3rd party sites as of 2016. Then, once the flights are booked and are non-refundable, Frontier tells you during the check in process that you will have to pay through the nose for things that are free of charge on nearly every other airline in the world. For instance, we were told that unless we paid at least $16 per seat, my wife and I would be assigned random seats and would be unable to sit together. We were also told that it would cost us $40 for each CARRY-ON item we wanted to take on board with us. Yes, that is for carry-on items, not checked baggage, which they also charge you for. And the $40 mark is actually the internet discount, if you wait to check in at the airport, the price actually goes up to $60 per carry-on item. As would be expected, people don't like being deliberately deceived and fleeced like this, and they call customer service to complain. When I did this, the agent that I spoke to figured out quickly that I had a problem that would be moderately difficult to solve and simply hung up on me a minute or two into our conversation. This wasn't a fluke either, because when I called back, another agent did the same thing. I tried contacting them via twitter and got something similar. The agents simply stop responding to you when the realize the problem they might need to solve is more than moderately difficult. I would imagine that with the amount of complaints Frontier gets (highest in the industry by a wide margin), their reps are simply overworked and without hope. In fact, the only reason Frontier eventually responded to me was when I began reaching out to other disgruntled Frontier customers and suggesting that they could file complaints with the FAA. After 15 minutes of that, a somewhat senior customer service rep called me from Frontier's home office in Colorado and tried to explain to me why it was my fault for not reading the fine print and not assuming that an airline would deliberately try to deceive and then extort travelers. Ultimately, Frontier decided that they would refund our non-refundable tickets and we had a very pleasant experience flying on United. Even last minute, the tickets were only about $25 more apiece and we also were not charged $112 for the unheard of luxuries of sitting together and taking our carry-ons with us. So ultimately a huge savings. In my opinion, Kayak should remove Frontier and similar airlines (there are two-Spirit and Allegiant) from their search results as they are deliberately preying upon customers."

Pros: "Safely from point A to B. Didn't have a POS terminal at the lavatory, which will likely be next."
Cons: "Loss leader fare, $35 per checked bag, $40 per carry on, but mostly having paid apparently only for the privilege of standing in the aisle, to have to pay extra (anywhere from $13 to $50 per seat assignment) to sit with my loved ones rather than just random seating. Seats so tight, that don't even lean back, felt like one of those chickens in the trucks on the freeway. Doing the math, this fare was actually more expensive than choosing an airline that actually serves human beings. As stated above, at least we didn't die, but at such levels of "economy" I was not confident that we would even survive the trip, thinking that the the pilots must be of the same quality. Please use a more honest business model, until then, we will not use you again."

Cons: "Flight was delayed. I got 6 different emails with 6 different times. I called the frontier phone number to change to a different later flight. While they were willing to do so , I was told if ours did get cancelled we would be put on that flight probably anyway. I was told that staying with that flight I would be compensated with a voucher. I told him the gate agents said they didn't do vouchers. He insisted that they were going to die to the great inconvenience. We finally departed after a 3+ hour delay. Sure enough, NO vouchers, just a "sorry for the delay" as we got off the plane when our flight was done."

Pros: "Newer seats, so I guess that could be counted as a plus for this trip."
Cons: "Ticket counter person in PDX was very rude. Our seats were 'upgraded' for a red eye flight, behind one screaming baby for 75% of the flight, and another next to us that constantly was kicking us. The male air flight attendant enjoyed to hear himself talk so much, that between him and the amplified screaming baby, sleep was not possible. I asked for water, but since that was the only free thing, they were out of it and the male flight attendant sound get me some of their was time before we landed....that was 25 minutes into a 3 and a half hour flight. In his defense, I did get my water just before the plane started its descent. And the last point, girlfriend's brand new suitcase was covered in him when we picked it from baggage claim. Instead of just refunding us the baggage fee, no, we now have a claim open for Up to $50 to get it cleaned. Spend the extra $100 for ease of mind and fly a real airline."

Cons: "We spent 15 minutes taxi-ing off and on the runway. Baggage was sent out 27 minutes after passengers left the aircraft. My seat was at the end of the aircraft, and I had to pay extra for that, and had sticky gum all over it. When I told the flight attendant, she said, oh no, really? The flight attendant did nothing to help me be reaseated or clean my seat. After a passenger vomited, the flight attendant did not help the passenger by providing anything to cleanup. The aircraft stank of vomit as we sat in the runway for 15 minutes. The flight attendants woke me up to sell their credit card, but not to provide refreshments/water. The announcements went on for over 10 munutes. My seat was surrounded by screaming and crying infants and nothing was done to help those mothers calm their children down. The seats had very little leg room for anyone my height and taller (5'9"), despite having to pay for the seat. I will not fly Frontier ever again. The upfront low price doesn't reflect the baggage, carry-on, and seat add-on fees, so it's very deceiving."

Cons: "This is as much against kayak as Frontier. If you display a price that includes all fees and taxes then that's what you expect a particular airfare will cost. When shopping on Kayak most people are looking for the best deal. If upon the day I fly I effectively have to pay the equivalent of the original fare AGAIN just to carry on my bag then I feel deceived. If I had known the actual cost to fly Frontier the day I selected this fare I would never have chosen Frontier. And I never will again. The ticket counter employees are obviously tired of hearing such complaints as well. They are a surly bunch."

I got these tickets because it look like an affordable way to visit family, but every step of the journey had surprise fees, from selecting your seat, to checking luggage, and even having a carry-on bag. Literally every other airlines I've ever been on offers at least one complimentary drink and a bag of bad pretzels, but Frontier charges three dollars for a bag of bad pretzels and and two more dollars for a drink. When it turned out that I had to pay for the seat I just went and paid for one of the better ones and even those are massively uncomfortable-- there's slightly more legroom but even the "premium" seats have almost no padding, don't recline, and are uncomfortably narrow. Overall I won't be flying Frontier again."

Cons: "They have new pre-reclined seats that basically hit curve in the middle. These are either made for a specific height or weren't tested. They make it so you have to sit hunched back the whole flight (I'm 5 10). If you have good posture, this airline is not for you."

Cons: "I didn't like that as a disabled young person the airline did not accomodate my injury. The previous 7 times I've flown since my injury each and every airline has given me priority boarding AS WELL as priority seating with more leg room. I cannot bend my right knee enough to sit in a regular airline seat. The entire 4 hour plane ride I was in pain and had to consume more then normal pain medication to make it through the flight. It's absolutely unacceptable in 2016 to comepletely disregard persons with disabilities when it comes to flying. I plan on writing a letter to Frontier airlines, as well as any affiliated companies they work with. I will not rest until it's assured this does not happen to anyone else."

Cons: "Seriously, it was a horrible experience. Everyone complains that they're misleading with the cost, but it really just adds up to what you pay on other lines, maybe slightly less still. BUT, so not worth it. Spend the extra money elsewhere. Terrible customer service. Seriously, there were 3 people that were nice, everyone else was flat out rude. Both on the phone and in person. And I was nice to them even though I was really upset, which was hard to do. Our first flight was delayed 8 hours for maintenance. We got a $10 food voucher and a $100 flight voucher. Not the best compensation considering the duration of our time in the airport and the cost of food, plus the fact that our flight was more than $100. We couldn't use the flight voucher on our return flight because it was already booked (even though a supervisor prior to that said we could), so that was worthless since I have no interest in flying with them ever again. I found out later that the flight voucher can at least be used for baggage and seat selection on the return flight, which no one mentioned even when I specifically asked multiple people (including a different supervisor) what it could be used for. But that didn't help me out either since... the flight back was flat out cancelled 40 mins before it was due to leave because they didn't have a crew to fly it due to weather issues elsewhere. The next flight they could get us on was two days later or 2 weeks later... We got a refund, but of course since it was such short notice then booking on another airline was far more expensive and they don't make up the difference. It seemed like Frontier runs things so tight that they don't have any backup plans for what I would assume are not wholly uncommon things, like maintenance and weather issues. And, as other people have pointed out, they were the tiniest seats I have ever seen. All I could think once we got on the plane was, "Thank God I'm not fatter or taller and thank God we weren't stuck on the plane itself!""

Cons: "I arrived at the airport 2 and 1/2 hours early for my flight... When I get there the line to just check a bag is swirling around the airport. I was disappointed I'd have to wait in said line but I went to the end to start the process of getting it done. About 30 mins into this line one of your employees starts calling off flights ones I'm assuming wee leaving soon so those people got to cut to the front of the line. A respectable thing but also very frustrating for the people actually waiting in line because it stopped movement completely. After they get those people out the line starts moving again but the one person controlling the line leaves and the people in the back feel untitled to bumrush forward and open up one of the crowd control polls and get to the front at which point everyone else is stuck to wait for the back of the line to go first. No one stopped them just let them go right ahead and make me wait. So at this point I've been at the airport for about an 1 hour and 15 mins. Not even through the line. As I approach the front finally an employee comes out and closes the crowd control line that made it possible for everyone to cut when I pointed that out they gave me excuses and were very rude. My flight was boarding in the next 45 mins and closing gates in the next hour or so. Next they start calling flights again ones that need to get through because they won't make their flight if they won't. My flight home is one of those. I'm at the front of the line so I figured I'd just be allowed to check my bag and get going but instead she lets people that I watched walk in less then 15 minutes ago go in front of me. I was furious I had been waiting 1 and 1/2 hours and people who showed up 15 mins ago are probably going to make MY flight while I wont.. I point this out to the lady and she says I'm just trying to get everyone to their flights and I do appreciate that but they were going about it all wrong. I finally checked my bag with probably 40 mins to spare before doors open to board and 1 hour before doors close. I turn the corner to look at security and feel defeat because I know there's no way I'll realistically make it through I turn around to talk to a supervisor about what she can do.. Get me on another flight? At least tell me they will work on their tactics of the bag check line. But instead the supervisor tells me that I have to try to get through security and that its my problem and they will deal with me at the gate if I don't make it. I hurry into line at security and we are not moving. All of a sudden the security line starts picking up because they brought the dogs out. I get through security with about 3 mins to spare I start running I get to my gate on the dot of gate close and the only reason I made it is because of delays due to maintenance which I had asked to reseive updates on my flight that wasn't given to me."

Pros: "Flight attendants and gate personnel were very gracious. Nice flight (weather cooperated) and no delays."
Cons: "Desk personnel at ORD were horrible, very abrupt, and just plain angry. Everyone has a bad day, but I'm easy to deal with and the only thing I did was step one foot over the "wait" line to the counter. I apologized after you snapped at me and continued to smile... while you continued to frown and be condescending. That alone means I don't fly your airline again. I can afford the extra for Delta and I should have stayed there. Seats were really uncomfortable and though we paid extra for the better seats, leg room was at a minimum. Again, about what I expected. All told, for 1 bag and a little more legroom, we paid an extra $115 per tick. Not really any savings over a more full-service airline."

Cons: "This is probably a common statement, but I will never fly Frontier again. Kayak costumers should be especially wary since Frontier's main strategy is extracting fees for things everyone expects to be free. You will pay $30-40 for either checked OR carry on bags You will pay $15+ just to have the seats you bought next to eachother. You will pay $20 more for any of those seats to recline at all This would be ok, but the bag fees alone more than erased any savings I got on the tickets."

Cons: "The crew wasn't terribly helpful and it was freezing on the plane. They did find time to chit chat with fellow staff that were flying as passengers. There was no entertainment. I wouldn't fly Spirit again"

Pros: "It got me to my destination is the only positive thing I can think of to write."
Cons: "I disliked that if I didn't prebook my suitcases online ahead of time I'm charged a larger fee at the desk even when I'm a club member with the airline. Then I was told to pay my overage weight fee online and that isn't an option on the website. So when the person at the desk went to charge me she said it was $50 when if I'd have just paid for 2 suitcases online it would have been $10 cheaper. I also think it's crazy to charge customers for a cup of water on the flight especially one that's 3.5hours long. I get the airline is cheap and offers cheap flights but to nickel and dime customers for even water is crazy. The seats were also very very close tofether so that your knees are almost crammed into the person's seat in front of you. My husband use to be in the airborne unit in the military and said those flights with all his gear and no frils was more comfortable than this flight. I highly doubt we'll ever use spirit airlines again unless it's the only option or if it's under 1.5hrs to fly to my destination. I'm not sure I could endure must longer of a flight on their planes."

Cons: "Had to cancel the flight because I was admitted to the hospital emergency on the day of flight with possible colon cancer. I am still in the hospital today, tests said no cancer but a virus infection that is being treated with antibiotics. Should be released in a couple days. Can I reschedule the flight??"

Cons: "Our flight was cancelled and I was not refunded. The monitors gave no indication that the flight was cancelled or even delayed. I received over 45 emails from Spirit within 45 minutes, and none of them gave accurate or helpful information. This was an awful experience."

Cons: "I will never fly with Spirit again. Their tickets are cheap but they make up for that by charging the highest bagging fees I've every paid. If I checked my bag it would be cheaper than carrying it on! Even though I AM THE ONE DOING THE WORK. Every time I fly with Spirit they increase the carry on price. I flew with Alaska last week and there was NO carry on price and $25 for a checked bag. Not to mention the leg room of their seats is minimal, especially for a tall person and their planes just seem old and run down. Their staff obviously HATES working for them. I've witnessed numerous bad attitudes from their flight attendants towards other passengers. I've had someone be overserved alcohol on a Spirt flight and they puked all over me! The flight attendants that overserved the guy barely gave me any towels or anything to clean the vomit off of my purse and legs. The icing on the cake this time for me is that now on top of exorbitant carry on baggage fees they NOW CHARGE $3 FOR A WATER BOTTLE. This airline is a complete joke and they have taken my money for the very last time. Stay away from them if you possibly can."

Pros: "I enjoyed nothing"
Cons: "After being told there was a mechanical issue with the plane (already nerve-wracking) we waited an hour to receive any additional updates. The flight crew then told us that the flight was "99% canceled." After that, everyone in the area got up to wait in line, but instead of helping people rebook their flights immediately, the flight crew just disappeared and never came back. I ended up re-booking with a different airline and had to call customer service in order to have my money refunded for that flight. I did receive two travel vouchers, but I'd rather just have the $100 because I'll never book with Spirit Airlines again. Not to mention the literal 280 emails I received the exact same email update over and over and over again telling me that my flight was delayed until the next day. That's right, they never canceled (as they should have) and just delayed it further and further. If I had just waited around for updates from the delay, I would have had to spend the night in the airport and miss work the next day (which I already had to do because I had to rebook with another airline). Thank GOD I didn't have any checked luggage or I really would have been screwed."

Pros: "Spirit Airlines is the worst airline company I've come across. Canceled my flight TWICE. No warning or reasoning, just cancelled. They offered no hotel voucher, food voucher, or anything else for immediate reimbursement due to the flight cancellation. The insurance I bought for the flight was even worthless!"
Cons: "Everything. Horrible customer service. Cheap company."

Cons: "The flight was cancelled and no clear reason was given. I tried to call for help but it would be over 20 min before I could speak to anyone and I was supposed to leave for the airport in a couple hours on my previous schedule. Told to make own changes on line which I did with a little struggle. 3 hours later Spirit called me saying they would put me on another airline, and tried to tell me my changed reservation did not exist. I told them I recieved confirmation of the change and they then said it should be good to go then, but I felt unsure everything would go smoothly. The delay also changed my rental car rate to be more even though I would now have the car a day less"

Cons: "I was surprised to find out that the bag weight limit was only 40 lbs rather than the usual 50 lbs. I had to open up my back pack my carry on and my checked bag and reload everything at the check in counter. What a circus. The ridiculous part of this whole thing is that I still took the same amount of weight with me and all that was accomplished was to make me uncomfortable and make those behind me wait for the show to end. When I printed my boarding pass it said TSA PreCheck on it. I'm thinking, at least I get to take the short line and dont have to get the full TSA "treatment". Well the TSA lady tells me that Spirit doesn't do PreCheck. I pointed out to her that the boarding pass said I in fact did have a PreCheck pass. No go, had to leave that line and go get in the long line after discussing this with the TSA lady. Spirit, really? What a mess!!"

Pros: "It's cheap. The crew is polite and a little bit silly (in a good way)."
Cons: "Our plane was delayed for over four hours while they inspected it for bird strike damage before finally being cancelled. No hotel accommodations were made. Under duress a $21 meal accommodation was made for the three of us, which covered maybe half of one airport meal."

Cons: "I am only 5'5 and I was cramped for the whole flight. No leg room!"

Cons: "Well let's start at the check in, so I got to an airport about 40 minutes before my boarding(usually what I do when I fly with Southwest), went on to check in my bag, once I got there the receptionist was extremely rude, as well as uneducated on the layout of the gates, as soon as my bag got checked in she threw it off the scale and told me to move on as soon as I asked her why she is being so aggressive with my baggage. Then when I was boarding there were no smiles by the crew, the seats were extremely uncomfortable, and I was waiting for a water for about 15 minutes asked a crew member again and she responded with "You are not the only passenger here, I will bring you your water once I'm done with other passengers" and for the 15 minutes I did not see her help a single customer. I am so disappointed in this flight that I am not flying with them back, instead I spent just a bit more and will fly out of Chicago with a different airline. Avoid spirit airlines at all costs!"

I could not get a real person on the line through Spirit Airlines automated customer service. I did end up getting a refund but had to purchase a flight through another airline to be able to leave as planned and not ruin my vacation."

Then they informed me that they would not be covering any type of reimbursement for the inconvenience. The people at the spirit counter were little to no help in resolving the issue."

Cons: "This airline is inceridibly disorganized and will find every way to make sure you are hit with some sort of fee unless you read the fine print. Not only that, our flight got delayed in Portland. Our friends also got their gate changed at the last minute in Chicago. My other friend got delayed in Orlando so he missed his connection flight."

Pros: "They refuse customers water unless they have medical needs or buy $3 14oz water bottles. Is this legal? It's at least inhumane."

Cons: "In the Portland airport, it was hard to find check-in kiosks. While the airport had signs pointing to where Spirit was located, Spirit didn't have signs easily visible. I walked up and down thinking they had possibly moved when I finally saw the small sign. So, maybe it would be wise to have the same size signage as all the other airlines."

Pros: "I read everything you shared about Spirit Airlines. I was prepared for it all, or so I thought! Despite seats being quite close, they were not uncomfortable, just tight quarters. There is a way to add to your comfort level though: Upgrade! I appreciate the low faire, and the honesty shared in the bare facts. ;-) No secrets here, but read and watch the videos so you are completely aware!"

Pros: "Not very much I'm afraid. I like your whimsical advertising, but the experience was completely different. A good number of your employees seem to hate their jobs, and I sympathize."
Cons: "Having to pay for my cramped seat and my one bag the day before, when it was too late to go with someone else, really teed me off. My most uncomfortable flight ever. I suppose if I were shakled and handcuffed, it would have been worse, but I don't think I even saved any money!"

Cons: "Sat at the gate fully boarded on a packed flight and sweated while the air conditioner was serviced. Should have at least opened the doors for some air flow or deplaned during the servicing. The seatbacks not reclining was terrible, as it was an overnight flight."

Cons: "This airline charges for everything, the seats are uncomfortable, the tray tables were tiny and dirty, the flight attendants have no idea what is going on, they push the spirit credit card (about a 15 minute pitch over the intercom), we had a five hour layover when other flights were available, and it was only a few dollars cheaper than other airlines. I will never fly with Spirit again."

Pros: "Easy to board, flight was good. Simple."
Cons: "There has to be something that can be done about screaming kids. This was not an infant, but a 2-3 year old and a 4-5 year old. For 1.5 hours, the children screamed wanting apple sauce and to go play outside. I can understand an infant that is crying, but when the kids are old enough to talk with the parents, the crew needs to ask them to take their child to the bathroom or something. I had a splitting headache."

Pros: "The price was great, and I am ok with having to purchase baggage and other stuff in advance, though charging $50 for a carry-on is a bit excessive. I would definitely consider using them again for very short flights (2 hours or less). Staff on the red eye was kinda cranky, but the return flight staff was friendly. Departure and Arrivals were right on for both flights and the pilot made sure to warn us of turbulence in advance."
Cons: "While I understand the concept of the "ala carte" method of traveling, it really was not clear that none of the seats actually recline at all! I will NEVER use Spirit for a "red eye" flight ever again (or any flight over 3 hours)! The amount of money saved wasn't worth what I have ended up spending in chiropractic care afterwards from having my back seize up on me from the uncomfortableness of those seats and trying to sleep sitting straight up! We decided to upgrade to an exit row for the flight home just to have some extra leg room, but still with no reclining of seats (the only 4 seats that recline were already taken)..... the comfort level was not there at all, other than at least our knees weren't bumping against the seat in front of us, like on the red-eye."

Pros: "Crew was great- friendly, easy. Loading and unloading was smooth. We were moved to the front of the plane at check-in, which was nice. No lines, good communication. Price was great for us!"
Cons: "Seats didn't recline, which was hard for a red eye flight. Delayed an hour. No food/bev svc or entertainment."
