Cons: Due to mechanical issues our 8am flight kept getting delayed in 30 minute increments until around 9:45 when the front desk attendants told us the necessary part had to be driven from Seattle and wouldn't be available until noon, and that their was no certainty the part would work, and that we should make other arrangements. So we did, but their earliest we could get us into Chicago was 9:30pm (original arrival was 2pm). We booked the arrangements only to find out that our original flight took off at 10:55 and American didn't even attempt to contact us. The cherry on top was that our flight (which was indirect through SFO) got delayed and we're now going to miss our connection in SFO. So currently looking at 10:30pm arrival in Chicago.

Pros: Nothing. Frontier is simply dismal. Don't make the mistake of ever flying with them.

Cons: I had flown with Frontier previously, and so I didn't have initial qualms about booking a flight with them again. What I discovered is that in the past few years, Frontier was sold and the new owner has turned it into the worst airline on earth (literally ranked). Frontier's new game is to deceptively price their flights low so they are selected by people who book through 3rd party websites (we booked through Kayak). Around 35% of all flights are booked through 3rd party sites as of 2016. Then, once the flights are booked and are non-refundable, Frontier tells you during the check in process that you will have to pay through the nose for things that are free of charge on nearly every other airline in the world. For instance, we were told that unless we paid at least $16 per seat, my wife and I would be assigned random seats and would be unable to sit together. We were also told that it would cost us $40 for each CARRY-ON item we wanted to take on board with us. Yes, that is for carry-on items, not checked baggage, which they also charge you for. And the $40 mark is actually the internet discount, if you wait to check in at the airport, the price actually goes up to $60 per carry-on item. As would be expected, people don't like being deliberately deceived and fleeced like this, and they call customer service to complain. When I did this, the agent that I spoke to figured out quickly that I had a problem that would be moderately difficult to solve and simply hung up on me a minute or two into our conversation. This wasn't a fluke either, because when I called back, another agent did the same thing. I tried contacting them via twitter and got something similar. The agents simply stop responding to you when the realize the problem they might need to solve is more than moderately difficult. I would imagine that with the amount of complaints Frontier gets (highest in the industry by a wide margin), their reps are simply overworked and without hope. In fact, the only reason Frontier eventually responded to me was when I began reaching out to other disgruntled Frontier customers and suggesting that they could file complaints with the FAA. After 15 minutes of that, a somewhat senior customer service rep called me from Frontier's home office in Colorado and tried to explain to me why it was my fault for not reading the fine print and not assuming that an airline would deliberately try to deceive and then extort travelers. Ultimately, Frontier decided that they would refund our non-refundable tickets and we had a very pleasant experience flying on United. Even last minute, the tickets were only about $25 more apiece and we also were not charged $112 for the unheard of luxuries of sitting together and taking our carry-ons with us. So ultimately a huge savings. In my opinion, Kayak should remove Frontier and similar airlines (there are two-Spirit and Allegiant) from their search results as they are deliberately preying upon customers.

Pros: Food quality was above average (compared to Air France, for instance). On-board entertainment system offers a lot of movies or tv series, assuming it is in working order.

Cons: A negative point for the entertainment system is the variety of movies - all US based movies. Other airlines mix in foreign movies, Delta is squarely US centric. Also, the entertainment system didn't properly work until rebooted, but flight attendants could not be contacted to get this done timely (cannot call attendants through a non-functional screen). Another concern is the noise level of the cabin, but it's mostly due to passengers.

Pros: quick fast and no nonsense, nothing to worry about on a 30 minutes. Hawaiian gets you there fast and mostly on time.

Okay 4.0

Pros: I paid for an Economy Plus seat and was three rows back from the galley and you would have thought the rows around me were prisoners. We were completely ignored by the flight crew. I had to actually go up and ask my own coffee and water. I saw one flight attendant yell at the person seating next to me, because she got up to go to the bathroom, after the "fasten seat belt" sign was off but the flight attendant was not aware of it. Basically everyone was rude.

Good 7.6

Pros: The food was remarkably good for a US airline. The wine was good as well. I found enough video material to entertain me throughout the long flight, although I would have liked a decent classical music program.

Cons: I had to ask for a pillow and when I did not take the blanket becaue it was comfortable I had made a mistake. It was VERY chilly in the last third of the flight and there was no way to locate personnel, or even a call button in the darkened plane to ask for one. Finally I climbed up on my seat (short people cannot reach the overhead bins on this plane) to get my coat out of the overhead bin and passed the last hours bundled up in that. While water was passed out frequently, collecting cups and bottles, not to mention the remnants of the snack or meals was not high on the priority list and eventually we were sitting in a trash pile. Bravo for having luggage available as soon as we got through customs!

Cons: Both my departure and arrival flight were delayed and I was not please with delay.

Okay 5.6

Pros: Cabin crew were very good. Very pleasant.

Cons: Unpacking wet clothes from one of my bags. It must have been left out in the rain for some time. I filed a separate complaint with Delta.

Excellent 10.0

Pros: Boarded and left JFK on time and arrived 15 minutes early to Seattle. Love DELTA.

Good 6.3

Pros: Food quality was above average (compared to Air France, for instance). On-board entertainment system offers a lot of movies or tv series, assuming it is in working order.

Cons: A negative point for the entertainment system is the variety of movies - all US based movies. Other airlines mix in foreign movies, Delta is squarely US centric. Also, the entertainment system didn't properly work until rebooted, but flight attendants could not be contacted to get this done timely (cannot call attendants through a non-functional screen). Another concern is the noise level of the cabin, but it's mostly due to passengers.

Pros: Excellent crew.

Cons: Could not get the delta Wi-Fi to work. Also my seat nearphone jack was broken.

Prices are per person and are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in USD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.

If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
please send us an and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.
