When we we asked for the third time they brushed us off with a time frame. It was extremely disappointing."

Cons: "This was an older 777 -- no wifi -- pretty surprising on such a key flight at DOH-JFK! This is not the airline's fault but I had a crazy lady next to me who was very disoriented, who could not speak English and needed assistance. No one would deal with her! She had a little pouch with her name on it -- like a UM -- so someone knew something was not right when they put her on the flight. I bought drinks inside the terminal for this 14 hour flight but they were all confiscated at the additional security at the gate!! WTF"
Cons: "carry-on did not fit on center overhead compartment unless I put it side ways (Same carry-on suitcase fit nicely on Emirates airplanes, so the carry-on overhead compartments have been made smaller on Qatar on purpose or by engineering error, and I will not fly Qatar airlines again. Less food options. I went to the Gally and they only had kitkat bars for food. Emirates offer fruit, sandwiches, and many choices at ALL TIMES of the flight for economy class passengers. Entertainment computer (Android based system) ran slow and out of memory at times. Seats were not comfortable for 12hrs flight. My butt was starting to hurt. I did not have this issues on Emirates flights."

Everyone talks about how superior Qatar is, but I found nothing special about it...the seats, the food, the entertainment were all basic and nothing fancy. The crew, while very sweet, seemed inexperienced and green to me..but they were lovely and that's all that ultimately matters."

When I retrieved the bags on the carousel, the fragile sticker was mangled, and both items from both bags were broken. Pieces of art I can not replace. I and a random group of passengers were made to wait with no explanation AFTER our electronics were already cleared to go through yet another security check. They said we were selected for screening but all the other people they took before us were screened the exact same way. It was stressful and traumatizing to stand for 45 minutes with no clear explanation. The crew were clearly new at their job or ill trained. On top of that they consistently ran out of food they were serving and was forced to take the vegetarian option when it's not what I wanted. I could not wait to leave Doha and exit Qatar airways. I hated my experience traveling with Qatar. It was stressful and traumatic. I want a full refund. I will also be advising all my friends to never fly Qatar. It was the WORST!"

You guys were late landing,and as a result I almost missed my connecting flight, was rushed thru the airport like a lunatic by one of your Reps. Then was told my luggage may not be in Abu Dhabi when I arrive, which it was not. My paid for seat wasn't available and had to sit in the back. Had to fill out a lost luggage report in Abu Dhabi. Was promised my luggage by 4:30 pm . Didn't receive it until 2:30 am next day. Missed my whole first day of vacation as I had no clothes , toiletries, etc . Very angry, and feel I should get a substantial discount on my next flight in March to Dubai. Totally unacceptable !!!!!!!"

I confirmed the wheelchair option well advance before her travel date in Qatar Airways Web site. I got the confirmation also in the Qatar Airways Web site. I usually fly with my family as I have a big family with couple of children and elderly. I will never fly Qatar again, this was the 1st and the last fly with Qatar airways."

Cons: "We sat in front of a row of children who kicked the back of my seat for 13 hrs straight. We spoke to a flight attendant about it early on in the flight, spoke to the kids and spoke to the parents. Then spoke to the kids and parents mid flight. And then spoke to them all, including a flight attendant towards the end of the flight. The issue was never resolved. We asked to change our seats but could not. We asked for the parents to trade seats with the kids and they would not. It was the worst, most uncomfortable flight I have ever taken. And I fly regularly for work and for pleasure. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I was actually in tears on the flight because I was so tired, uncomfortable and frustrated."

Emirates airlines does not inform there passengers of the required documents even at there counter in the start of the trip tell they don’t allow you to take your flight to the final destination. After that they say it’s not there Problem and you have to sort it out. Emirates is one of the worst airlines you can travel with.

Cons: "On our departure flight the entertainment system stopped working completely at my daughter's seat mid-flight (the whole screen went black, remote control and all). The flight attendant tried and was unable to fix it, so they moved a passenger in the row my husband and I were in and put my daughter there. None of the entertainment systems worked well, the touch screens were barely responsive - they definitely need updating. On our return flight the power in the whole row that my three pre-teen kids were in stopped working. Again the flight attendant tried unsuccessfully to fix. My husband and I switched rows with them so they could continue to watch movies. Each time we called the flight attendant she came, said she would try to reset the systems and that we should wait a few minutes. We waited and ultimately had to go find her again to be told the same thing again. After this happened three times she sent the manager over who said she could not fix it since that would mean that the whole area would have to be reset and they didn't want to disturb anyone else. The only solution they offered was to give my husband and I open seats (not together and not near our kids) around the cabin. We did not want to split up, so my husband and I spent the rest of the hours of the flight in the dark (lights didn't work either as they are connected to the system) reading with the light from our cell phones. None of the people who came to assist us really seemed to care at all about our comfort or situation."

It is a relief to know that in this age of carriers that charge you a lot and treat you like you are paying a bus ticket there are airlines that still know the key to success. Boarding was fine and not dependent on local personalities. You can tell the company cares about training. The food and entertainment is excellent. Seats are still a little smaller but they try and make up with it with other perks. Flight crew was polite, smiling, and accommodating no matter the time. Pillows, blankets, snacks, etc. all given without having to ask or be charged. We were also given these little self care packs with toothbrush & paste, eye pillow, socks, and earplugs! Overall it made a long flight over night very comfortable."

The Emirates service desk offered no help in getting us on the next flight home. They were booked full the following day with the exception of business class seats and were going to charge us an additional $4000 which included $600 each for being a no show. They refused to waive any fees so it was drastically cheaper to fly home with another airline. I am most disappointed in their lack of effort to assist us in getting home and they really showed no concern. I will never fly this airline again."

Cons: "Seats are too small. Very difficult to stand up and get out of your seat. Even young people have trouble getting up and out into the aisle. The aisle is TOO NARROW! At least one seat on each row should be eliminated, as well as one row to give economy class room. I was on the aisle (seat D), and was unlucky to have a woman and her husband (seats E & F) ask me to get up several times (because passenger in seat G was asleep). I was not at all happy with the movie choices; they were mostly modern and violent. Food selection was unavailable. Menu choices were chicken & fish. Chicken was NOT AVAILABLE."
Pros: "All the Air Team Crew were really friendly. On the first connection to from Nairobi to Dubai, I sat next to a fellow passenger who was nervous about the moderate turbulance that we hit. At the end of the flight, as we waited to disembark, a lovely Attendant stood next to us and we had the most warm friendly conversation I've ever had in all my years of flying. She made us feel like friends as she gave us an insight into her 'high flying' lifestyle while being professional. Unfortunately I can't remember her name as I would have loved to give her a special mention but she was so lovely."

And they served the same food for both meals... chicken, fish, or pasta for dinner AND breakfast... the latter which was at 3am of the time zone I was coming from. Both my kids (5 and 7) REFUSED to eat any of the food except the brew& butter, despite starving. My row and row behind me lost power during the flight so we had NO entertainment, and could no longer charge our devices for the rest of the 11-hour flight. They offered us magazines, but we had no overhead lights to be able to see. The crew managed to reboot the system about 2 hours after the first meal, so we enjoyed some entertainment, but after a little while, the movie and sound stopped working. After about an hour an announcement was made that the entire entertainment system would be rebooted. It started working around the last hour of the flight. Not relaxing at all."

The flight was 5 hours late, made us miss our connector to Dallas. No more flights to Dallas until Friday. We were only offered the late flight to Istanbul, hotel overnight in Istanbul. A flight to Houston and we’re are stranded from there. Later, I found a flight to Newark, take a Connector Bus (my costs) to JFK, overnight layover 8 hours, and a flight to Dallas from there. I was refused to change to that flight unless I paid $300, my connector, and any hotel costs if I chose one. Having spent the night before in JFK, I absolutely would need the hotel, it is not safe.

Cons: "First flight (to Istanbul) delayed, and nobody cared to help with making connecting flight booked on the same Turkish Airlines (THY)! Different THY employees sent me to three (3) different places (with two suitcases in hand) at opposite ends of the huge Istanbul airport before finally pointing to the Business Lounge and causing my missing the connection. Had they directed me correctly and cared about my first delay, I would not have missed it. I lost the first-night pay at the hotel of my final destination, my friends lost their time and money on making trips to pick me up, my ailing relatives were in pieces worrying about me, and so on. In sum, a fun trip (NOT!) ... If you care for some details, here you go... They did not inform their own connecting flight about my delay. Despite issuing me a boarding pass, nobody was looking for me or announcing where I should go. I spent an hour running around the airport at THY employees' misdirections. Business Lounge revealed I was already issued a ticket for next morning's flight (without informing me via my email they had or otherwise). I then looked at their own monitor and saw a much earlier flight the same night on a partner airline. I had to point to that flight, and they issued me a ticket there. No apology, no offer of any compensation. I understand that flights may delay, and I could forgive an honest mistake in misdirection. But this was a wide-spread incompetence and utter unwillingness to help their own business class (!) customer. I can only imagine what pains the economy travelers had to endure! Just to give you a flavor, after realizing that my connecting flight was boarding (when my delayed first flight arrived in Istanbul), I asked the crew to direct me to the best route to my connection. They pointed to the gate personnel. The gate personnel who greeted us DID NOT KNOW about my connection and sent me to the opposite side of the airport without notifying the connecting flight to wait for me. No help/transport was offered. When I made my way to the connecting gate with my luggage, the flight was gone. Nobody to be found from THY around the gate. A neighboring THY gate's employee directed me to the "Care Point" desk far away. A sizable line emerged there, with only two agents working it. I asked one of them if business class was served there. They said, "Yes, get in line, please". After 30 minutes in that line, I approached a "Care Point" agent (a cruel name for no-care-whatsoever service) who told me "You need to go to the business class desk upstairs. Economy only here!" No apology, no expression of concern, yelling "Next!" when I told her that I wasted 30 minutes of valuable time in line at their direction and would appreciate her doing something to help or making sure I reach the right person. Off to the "business desk" I go... another 15-min. run in a different direction with luggage in hand. That desk could not help either...ARGHH. Do I need to continue?.."

I'm not sure why there needs to be 2 security checks within a few yards of each other when transiting between flights. they don't have this problem in Doha."

Even though I was had been double vaccinated weeks prior; arrived at the airport 5 hours early; had two negative COVID tests, including a PCR test I was forced to pay $225 for at the airport (the free tests do not have the fast result turn-around required by the Sri Lankan government); proof of a ride from the airport and lodging information; I WAS DENIED ENTRY TO MY FIRST FLIGHT. I was told I needed a special email from the government? I was told to email immediately and given a bogus email address? The one man, who was a "supervisor" for Etihad and refused to identify himself, kept berating me and told me explicitly that "you Americans are used to going wherever you like whenever you like BUT IT'S NOT THAT WAY ANYMORE!!!" I was dumbfounded. I should mention that I was unfailingly polite the entire time. I would characterize this employee's behavior towards me as abuse. I did try to call KAYAK for several hours but no response. This same employee kept intercepting me on the snake line and continuously prevented me from approaching the check-in desk. I should add that I was the only person waiting who appeared to not be of SE Asian or Middle Eastern descent as well as the only unaccompanied woman. While I cannot for certain that this had anything to do with the Etihad employee's targeting, I can say. that my experience was truly horrible. After 5 hours of attempting check-in, being prevented from approaching the check-in desk, and being continuously denigrated and lied to, I left the airport in despair. That was only the beginning of my troubles. Many weeks later, I still do not have a refund, or even an exchange, for my wasted ticket. I have spent countless hours on hold with KAYAK and their enterprise is absolutely criminal. I really can not afford to lose the price of my ticket, but I don't know how many more weeks/days/hours I can spend fighting for a refund for a flight I was prevented from boarding for no apparent logical reason? AVOID ETIHAD. AVOID KAYAK!! They have stolen my money and have been absolutely horrid. And if anyone from KAYAK reads this PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY. I am so deeply tired of this. The way you have treated me is so. very. wrong.

They then were extremely rude to me when I was in the process of finding a new connection and made me buy a brand new ticket for the following morning as the penalties for rescheduling would cost more than buying a new ticket which was 1200 USD!! They insisted that this warning was on their web site and would have been on my ticket had I got it from their website. Since I purchased my ticket from Kayak.com, that was my own problem. They then showed me a warning label on the baggage claim slip that they gave me at check in but this was only in Arabic with NO ENGLISH translation provided. More importantly the representative who checked me in to my flight never told me about needing to be at the gate 1 hr before the flight. Throughout this whole process they were unapologetic, unsympathetic and rude. I met two other people that same day who had the same problem one of these passangers arrived at the gate 1.5 hrs before her flight and still could not get to her flight in time because of the inefficient customs and immigration process that the Emarati's have in place in an attempt to mimic our process in the US. This is a very bad policy which only Etihad does. If you fly through Dubai with Emirates they do not require this nonsense. The Etihad staff were rude, unhelpful, unapologetic and inefficient. Never fly from Abu-Dhabi to the US with Etihad. On the flight, as the plane came to a stop at the end of the runway but still needed to taxi in to the gate, people started getting up. Instead of calmly explaining to people what was going on, one of the stewardesses waved it off and said well when we start moving again or if something happened they will just DIE then! This was not the only occasion I was disgusted by the staff. I woke up on the flight and couldn't find my glasses and the response of one of the stewardesses was "can you ask someone else to help you, I am on my way to take a nap and if I stop to help you I want get my full rest." This airline is one of the worst in the world if not the worst. I will never fly with them again and I am considering sending these stories to a NEWS network to raise awareness on this issue. Their staff don't care. They seem to be overworked and burned out. They only get one day off when flying to New York and back when by law they are required two. This shows that they are abusive to their staff which then leads their staff to have have horrible customer service."

The experience starts when boarding the aircraft and you are personally escorted to your seat and introduced to the several features around you. The space is ample and the cabin has some privacy doors making it feel very exclusive. There is a large couch across the seat which later is converted into a bed. I was offered pijamas and a small closet to hang my clothes right before take off. Once on the air our personal chef introduced himself and explained the different dishes from the menu. I was able to try the steak and the lamb biryani; both were superb. The IES provided a decent selection of western and some middle eastern films as well as a few live news channels. After I woke up our flight attendant explained the on board shower which is also a distinctive feature allowing to feel refreshed before landing. I had another meal before landing which included an appetizer, and entree and a dessert made with roses. The crew was nothing but fantastic and I would love to fly with them again."

Cons: "Horrible and disorganized service crew. Went without food for 2 of three service seasons as they forgot a whole section to service. Had to repeatedly ask and in one case finally got something to eat 40 mins later. Poor sequence of beverage and food service."

Pros: "The service was spectacular to begin with. It was consistent, frequent and ultimately satisfying. It was a very comfortable ride with enough space for a broad guy like me. What I love most is their selection of entertainment. I have to say that in the 16-17 hours I flew with them (which I just came home from) I never felt claustrophobic, uncomfortable, or bored. I was in the middle seat. I love their flight progress and flight time. Their timing was very accurate. In fact, both flights landed earlier than expected."

Cons: "If you are flying from AUH to JFK, they pre-clear you for US Customs. What they don't tell you is that the cut-off to get to the gate is one hour before departure. I took a leisurely stroll down to the gate when he signs said 'boarding soon' and was denied entry to the flight. The next one was in seven hours, so I spent the night in the terminal. The big slap in the face, aside from how rude the staff were: they won't just put you on the next flight. You have to buy a new ticket, full fare. It cost me more to get home than the original round trip ticket did to begin with. Trying to discuss this is fruitless - they are absolutely not interested in helping, but instead use phrases like "you are the one that is wrong" and "why should we pay for your mistake". Essentially, I was held hostage in Abu Dhabi and forced to pay a heavy charge to leave."

Cons: "Etihad overbooked me along with more than a dozen other passengers on a 14-hour international flight. Apparently Etihad decides on who gets left behind. Etihad's "Transit Travelers" service is one of the WORST customer service desks I've ever been to. I waited in line for 2 hours. Passengers were urging to be served so they can make it to their connecting flights not knowing they have been already selected not to board those plains. Voices were raised and demands were made to speak to the supervisor. It was chaos. I made it to the agent shortly after the gate to my flight had opened. I was shocked by how the agent lacked empathy when he informed me I won't make it to the connecting flight because it had been overbooked. Not an apology or even sir! I was forced to be rerouted which stretches my 25-hour trip to 33 hours. Then the connecting flight gets delayed more than an hour resulting in missing the second connecting flight. Now my trip has become a 41-hour trip, I missed a day of work that's worth more than double the value of the voucher Etihad gave me and lost one day of unscheduled vacation. Etihad even damages my bag that had servived more than 10 flights. I will never fly Etihad and strongly recommend against flying with Etihad."
Cons: "we had a layover for about 7 hours. The airport was cold. But the departure lounge was extremely cold, very uncomfortable. Even wearing a hooded jacket, I was very cold and my hands were numb. And we waited about 3 hours in the departure area."

Cons: "The cabin crew is not at all courteous. When you start travelling in US, you realize how different the crew's attitude is. When you want to say no to the customer, atleast make an effort to accommodate the needs of the customer first. Minor requests made by the passengers should be accommodated. You just rudely say No. Learn something from American customer service!!"
Cons: "Cabin crew was not responsive to our simple needs for glass of water or serving specific meals we had ordered(JVML). after lots of discussion they found the proper meals for us."
Cons: "Abu-Dhabi was very crowded with passengers and it took very long (actually I was amongst last few passengers who boarded my connection). Depending on time of year, etc the time to connection need to be increased."
Cons: "Your airline lost my baggage. I missed my connecting flight in Paris to Bordeaux and had to pay 200 euros to get another flight. I am very disappointed"
Cons: "Horrible food plan. We were served an entire dinner 2 hours before landing in New York and mind you it was morning in New York. Instead of serving breakfast, we were given dinner which was again horrible. Worst food plan ever!"

Seats were booked but did not get the seat because someone didn't want to move and staff said to ignore him. Families with small kids and old people did not get prioritised."
