If the airline would have given a realistic timetable, customers could have managed their time much easier. Instead, United Airlines kept delaying takeoff for 15-20 minutes, multiple times. When they finally get the customers into the boarding process, they act like they're doing you a favor. Poorly managed, customers manipulated."

Cons: "Recent airline corporation consolidation has greatly reduced consumer choice. The surviving major airlines, in their effort to cut costs, sacrifice quality control and assurance. Pittsburgh's status as "no longer a major hub" was on full display here. United needed to have customer service agents available on site, but they did not. The review could easily turn into an essay on United's complete failure (ask the remaining passengers who were supposed to be on the PIT-IAD), but such a review would not change the state of affairs in the airline industry. I will be contacting United reps to lodge an official complaint."

Cons: "I was traveling for the first time in crutches. As soon as I approached the check-in counter, the lady at the counter asked me rudely "Are you checking in any luggage?". I first told her that I requested assistance getting to the gate and asked if it would be by a wheelchair or a cart. She didn't answer the question, and repeated the same question. Since I had one carry-on size bag, I asked if I need to check it in, or if I can bring it with me when they help me get to the gate. To which she replied in a very irritated tone, "I'm asking you if you need to check it in! Can you bring the bag on-board and put it away in the overhead bin YOURSELF WITHOUT ANY HELP?", hinting that no one will provide any help... At this point, I went ahead and checked in my bag. Thank God the wheelchair service is provided by a separate vendor, because he was wonderful and helpful. While we waited to board, the flight was delayed a few times. I could not hear the announcement from where I was sitting, but I noticed people started to make a line by the central info counter. 4:42pm, I received the cancellation notice via email. Because of my injury, I was unable to wait in line for long, so I chose to sit and wait next to the counter, until the line got shorter. 1 hour later, the line was growing even longer. 6pm, I re-booked a new flight for the next day via iPhone app, however, it was still showing the old boarding pass that I was automatically re-booked for. I still had to talk to someone from United to confirm, also to ask for wheelchair to get back to the main building, so I continued to wait. At one point, one of the United employees moved to the side counter to make a call re: another flight that arrived. I went and stood right in front of her and said "Excuse me, I have a quick question about wheelchair service". She looked at me right in my eyes, but she started talking to the other person on the phone. After she hung up, she ignored me and went back to the center counter, leaving me confused as to what just happened... At this point, I did not even want to make another attempt to ask for help. 7:20pm, the line went down to 3 people; a gentleman with a bad knee, another gentleman with a bad leg and myself on crutches... Am I the only one to think there is something wrong with this picture? 7:40pm, I was finally on the way back to the main building with a wheelchair service, which by the way is run by a group of amazing people. I am not complaining about the delays and cancellations. I understand it happens. I am not expecting that someone like me with temporary disability automatically receives first place in line. I do, however, wish United was more aware of some people who are in need of assistance, while being fair to other passengers. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for people with disabilities to travel with United Airlines."

Cons: "Customer service would not let me take flight home from reservation and only resolution was an additional 200 fee plus the price difference in cost of ticket There is no logical reason why the airline would attempt to charge additional fees in this circumstance as my first leg I allowed an open seat for standby passengers which benefited United monetarily should this have been a non rev passenger and essentially the cost I paid for round trip I was only asking to use for one way due to emergency circumstances. I strongly suggest having a valid reason outside of taking advantage of people by overcharging because the customer is at the airlines mercy. Simply wrong!"

Also they don't participate in TSA pre check so had to wait on lines even with this."

Only taking credit cards too. There are many older people on these flights that do not even have credit cards.... so they may not have water? Cheap flight!!??? nope, add everything together and with flight attendants that don't want to be there and a captain that let us sit on the tarmac for a good 15 minutes before thinking he should tell us what's going on. That was my first and it is my last Spirit flight! And i am telling everyone that i know not to fly Spirit. Some people I have told have stories of their own and said they won't fly Spirit ever again too."

Cons: "My flight from Phl to lax was cancelled on 6/28 due to weather. I'm not holding the air line accountable for the weather however I was given two options for the next day flight. I chose of course the same as previously scheduled direct flight from Phl to LAX I was told I would receive a round trip voucher for the inconvenience and I would addition receive an email confirming the modification within 15 mins. Long story short never received the email and I called the air line Spirit and was informed I was booked the wrong flight and the flight I wanted was booked. I was really to work with the air line to fly into almost any line into Cali but after 4 1/2 hours on the phone with the air line I was unable to change my flight. So now I have to take a connecting flight the total time traveling will be over 10 1/2 hours not including arriving 2 hours early to avoid missing my plane for the busy tsa lines. Nevertheless I would be satisfied if their representative would at least take accountable for their mistake and kept telling me that I booked connecting flight vs the direct flight. I was given a lossy $50 voucher which doesn't even cover luggage round trip. I have a flight schedule on 6/14 with the same air line which I'm strongly considering canceling due to the air lines negligence and mistake; however mostly because of the poor customer service the lack of acknowledgement of taken accountability for their mistake."

The two options Spirit gives you is to put you on the next flight tomorrow at 6AM or refund your money. I was lucky to purchase a flight on an airline with a real schedule for later that morning. That flight was practically empty. It is a shame that Spirit doesn't have the customer service to accommodate it's passengers on to other flights. Low cost fares are appealing but more of a hassle than they are worth when the airline has little to no contingency plans. An I'm sorry and a $15 voucher can't get you back 24 hours of time or the money folks who choose low cost carriers have to waste on getting back and forth to the airport or spend on hotels in the area."

Cons: "When I called Spirit after the flight was cancelled the operator was not helpful at all. I could not understand her on the phone. She did not present me with any alternative flights. As a result I ended up cancelling my trip. It just goes to show you that you cannot rely on discount airlines that do not have consistent service to another airport. I will not fly Spirit again unless absolutely necessary. I would rather spend more money on a flight and have alternatives when something goes wrong..."
Pros: "Cheap (if you know how their bag fees work)"
Cons: "Hidden bad fees. Luckily I caught it other wise it would have been $100 each way to check a bag. Even with me checking my bags online, it was $80 RT. They don't waive the fee for military either."

Pros: "It was a really smooth and great time flying Spirit! We purchased two bags to check in ahead of time. When we got to the air port we stood in a line for bag drop off and that was cool because there was just two people ahead of us vs the regular line was pretty long! We got our bags checked in and we where in our way through security. When time came to board the staff was really good and we loaded the plain pretty fast and where on our way! No delays! Great company! Great service! Really happy!"

Cons: "They broke my suitcase's wheels off and something was stolen out of my bag. When I went to the office in ORD, they told me to put in a claim and then ignored me, not helping me to put in a claim, continuing on their conversation about what they're doing when they get out of work. They wouldn't let me put in a claim."
Cons: "No confirm numb. was sent. Disconnected 7 times in a row. Had to call back four times after they said the emailed it and still didn't get it. Fligh was canceled. No ather flight for 3 days. Not enough characters to go on."
Pros: "The only good thing about the flight was the crew everything else was horrible old plane you have to pay for everything even a carry on. The first and last time I fly spirit"

Cons: "Having to wait on the tarmac while someone looked for a key to the; having to wait another hour for someone to find a wheelchair to remove a passenger, assigning two people to the same seat."
Cons: "I've been using Kayak since the first couple yrs the site was live. I've built up a lot of trust for Kayak over time and have recommended to a lot of friends in multiple countries. Recently, I purchased a ticket on Spirit through Kayak and had something happen that have never happened to me. I arrived at the airport and was charged an additional $112 for a carry on and 1 checked bag. I realize now that this is a Spirit policy, but not only will I never fly that shitty airline again, I will be extremely hesitant to use Kayak for my travel needs. I trust that Kayak clearly states all policies that should be a concern to its users and I have always believed in the prices that you displayed. This is obviously not the case and by working with an airline like this, it ultimately discredits a once reputable site like Kayak. All those yrs of building trust and just one trip puts it all back at zero and opens up opportunity for your competition. Bad business moves and partnerships will lead to more of this. Cons: "They broke my bag very durable fiberglass suitcase, my seat was very uncomfortable, all of the lines were incredibly long, and worst of all none of the agents were even a little bit nice."
Cons: "When we stop at Atlanta there was know there to open the door of the plane. We waited over an 1/2 hour. Then when it was time to reload passengers the system was down and it took over a hour. Our arrival time was 12:30 we did not get to Los Angeles until after 2:30 west coast time. Me husband with dementia was very upset and confused. It was not a pleasant flight."
Pros: "I was stuck in security for an inordinate amount of time and was two minutes late after the gate closure. I was refused and sent back to the ticket counter to rebook a flight that would cost twice the amount of the original ticket and arrive a day later. Spirit is the worst. Got a new flight on American Airlines for much less booked that moment and have gotten so much better customer service ever since. Yes, spirit is cheap but they are terrible with customer service. Never flying again with them."

Pros: "Most uncomfortable seats, they nickel and dime you to death. I ended up having to pay 55.00 to check a bag in. 25.00 for a carry on- because it had wheels and a handle. And the weight limit is 40 lbs for luggage. So on my way home I had to pay another 25.00. Rediculous! !!!! Pay the extra money for a better airline!"

Cons: "There was a gentleman that had to throw away one of his carry on bags and empty it into a trash bag. Not only is that humiliating enough he had to do it in front of everyone and was still told to throw away some of his clothes. I was devastated by this. He was humiliated and I just felt terrible. Also, he was made to get rid of his bag and dos not receive a voucher for a new one or anything else."
