Pros: Although there were delays they kept us informed on a regular basis as to what to expect and seemed genuinely apologetic for any inconveniences. Boarding and deplaning were smooth and efficient. I really appreciated that there was no charge for checking a bag. I am certain that contributes to the ease of everyone getting on and off the plane. Our bags arrived at baggage claim about the same time we got there. I would definitely fly with Virgin Atlantic again.

Cons: Come to think of it, there was one thing that I didn't particularly like, and that was how the headphones only worked on one side only (there was only audio on one side). At first I thought that maybe I had just gotten bad headphones, but the my next flight was the same: the headphones also only played audio on one side.

After calling the helpline I was informed that it is impossible to change the seat after checking in until I am at the airport. No other airline has such an obscure, in efficient rule. Virgin takes pride in being a step above their competition - I didn't see it. I have flown international on Delta, American Airlines, British Airlines, United, and others and any difference in the experience was negligible.

Cons: I found the seats on this Virgin Atlantic A340 flight from LHR (London Heathrow) to LAX (Los Angeles), an eleven hour flight, to be unacceptable. The seats were very crowded. I am six feet tall, and was very uncomfortable all during the flight. I could not sit with my knees together. I had to spread my knees to sit comfortably. Holding that position for eleven hours was very uncomfortable. Anyone taller than me would have even more trouble. Also, every seat has a very large box underneath, I presume for the audio/video system. This is a terrible location. There is very little room to stow anything. But much worse, I couldn't straighten my right leg. All-in-all, I found the seat situation totally unacceptable. I will likely never fly Virgin Atlantic again because of this.

Cons: The flight was delayed by more than an hour. My seat's entertainment system was broken, so an 8 hour flight with not much to do other than sleep.

Cons: The flight from. JFK to Barcelona was delayed as well. Their computers were down in Atlanta. So everyone had to have their name hand typed into a computer when boarding. Then the pilot said that our bags are usually weighed and computerized for even distribution on the plane. That system was also down, so we sat on the runway waiting for that problem to be fixed. When we arrived at Barcelona, I unpacked and discovered a jacket and pants in my luggage were wet. The only place that could have happened was at JfK during their rain storm and the luggage weight issue.

Cons: Not exactly the flight but the attendant white lady in Atlanta at the gate needs to sharpen her customer service skills, a bit obvious on who she prefers to deal with, as a foreigner and over 25 years of experience in dealing with the public, I felt the indifference. I frequently fly and my choice of airline is delta, this by far has been the only dissappointnent. Please do make sure this gets to the person in charge.

We asked the flight attendants twice for blankets and each time they said no. I know they had extra blankets but for some reason they did not give us one. I thought that sitting in comfort+ they'd at least give us the comfort of a blanket but I guess not... Oh well.

Cons: Customer Service was horrid except for last attendant. At one point one rep sent us running out of a secured area to retrieve our luggage and then go to British Airways for connection. We had 45 minutes in front of BA ticket rep to get us on BA182 and they took so long we missed the boarding due to reps slow processing to issue ticket. Then we were stuck outside of secured area.

Pros: Our flight attendants were lovely people specifically the first class attendant and he was humorous and witty, polite and friendly trying to make our christmas eve late night flight to be enjoyable.
Cons: When we touched down in a blizzard we were told there was no jetway available and we had to climb down an icy ladder to walk probably 1000 feet on black ice barely seeing where we were going and at least one person fell and overall it was just very unprofessional and not the quality of service I expect from Delta.

Cons: Was in seat 16A and got bumped to 12E. If you know Delta aircraft, that's exit row window, for the EC (more legroom) but middle. The problem is that nothing can compete with the exit row for leg room and being crammed between two guys isn't an upgrade either. Plus, due to proximity, got sick. And the flight was delayed leaving - due to the late arrival from ATL (Delta HQ) which had a power outage. And no video entertainment. No meals.

A pleasant flight overall with my first impression being an airline with current popular music playing in the background and flight attendants cheerful. Since I was traveling alone, I opted to not purchase my seat prior to my flight date, instead I chose my aisle seat within 24 hours for free. I checked in my one bag and found out I had pre-checked so my security check went so smooth at the new terminal 2 at LAX. Looking forward to my flight back on June 15.
Cons: Had a toddler behind me crying and screaming the last 40 minutes of landing into Heathrow because she couldn't sit on her mother's lap and made it quite unbareable for all of us in the vicinity. Wondering if there was an alternative way to handle the situation.

The problem is your greedy Chinese luggage handling thieves who work for your airlines in Chinese airports. Whenever they can steal from luggage, they always try to steal from passengers, particularly American. I have had multiple experiences with theft from Chinese airports. I have been to China and back to the USA five times. Many times, items have disappeared from my suitcases in Chinese airports. That is why I decided not to move to China to live but instead move to Indonesia. However, if I fly any plane that transfers my luggage in China, I can usually expect to have my luggage robbed. Although this time, nothing was missing from my luggage, that fact that your people had to wrap my suitcase in plastic (because they did not know the secret for relatching it) and resend it a day later, that is proof that one of your airport personnel opened it to see what he could steal and then got caught because he could not close it again. I am really really really tired of you Chinese thieves. I blame all of you because you are all a product of Mao Tse Tung’s godless atheistic evil society. The Chinese have proven to me again and again that they cannot be trusted. A Kong Chinese official even stole my Ohio driver’s license when I transferred through that airport on a previous trip to Jakarta. I understand your problem. If you fire all dishonest luggage department workers, you will not have any workers remaining. That is why you will always rank as a third world backward primitive society even though you buy expensive airplanes that you don’t build and dress your people up like professionals which they aren’t. AS LONG AS Chinese airport luggage people are dishonest and cannot be trusted, your entire airline is a failure. That is not prejudice against Chinese people. I know some honest good ones. They are all Christians, the kind of good people the corrupt Chinese government hates. An atheistic country is an evil country. Do not expect to be respected by honest people. You people clearly do not deserve it. You are still in the stone age when it comes to professionalism which requires total honesty, a quality which your luggage handlers consider to be dispensable. Cons: I bought the tickets through a third party website. Therefore, our seats were not assigned until the last minute, and once they were assigned, they were published in a screen with our initials. This practice was discriminatory and violateed our rights for privacy, We even felt that it could put our security in risk. I believe that one thing is not to allow clients to choose seats in advace because they bought the ticket through a third party website, and another thing is to discriminate an treat those clients as "second class" people. When I asked the person in the counter for the reasons behind this practice, she could only say it was Delta's policy to do it that way. In that sense I was very surprised with the practice because i bought an Airfrance ticket (not a Delta one) and I had travelled before in both airlines (Airfrance and Delta) and I had never experienced a situation like the one described. I strongly believe that Delta needs to review this practice.

Cons: Initially delayed by 3hours (mechanical) which was American Eagle couldn’t get their “bucket of bolts” to Springfield, MO on time so we missed our flight out of Charlotte to Barcelona. Then we were rerouted through Chicago, but lost our first class seats and were bumped back to coach. This was after I had bought first class tickets for the entire trip only to be told 3 months before leaving that AA decided to switch planes on our domestic flight so there’s were no first class seats. THEN, in Chicago we tried to get first class seats on British Airways which would have been fine but After being sent to another terminal (after the bus to that terminal had stopped running) we were turned back because British Airways wouldn’t accept the boarding pass that AA had issued us. Now, having to go back to the first terminal to DISCUSS all this, we miss that flight and wind up stuck in Chicago for another 24 hours. Then, that flight was delayed by 3 hours, so we lost a day and a half of our vacation.

Cons: The planes are too cramped, costs are too high, staff just love pointing out a carry on isn't a carry on even though it's sold as one and fits in every other airline's definition of one. Boarding process is ridiculous.

Pros: The crew was friendly, the seats were comfortable, the lav was large enough to turn around in, and we arrived in plenty of time to catch our train out of Frankfurt.

Cons: The cabin crew on the flight to Barcelona acted like they really didn't want to be there. From telling me that they'd serve everyone when they had the chance when I asked for water to shouting down the aisles to each other while passengers tried to sleep and having an overall feeling of being incredibly stressed out by basic requests (a bottle of water, help operating the entertainment screen, etc), they made the flight decidedly less enjoyable than an intercontinental flight in economy class already is. They were not rude to me personally, more just disinterested and apathetic, but I did witness one of the flight attendants being downright rude to another passenger. This was not a British Airways crew, but an American Airlines crew, and they treated us like they were doing us a favor by paying us any attention rather than treating us like it is their job to serve passengers courteously.

Apparently, this flight had been dropped and completely changed to 5 hours later on February 2nd. Kayak didn't care to tell us until the day before. We ended up having to book a new connecting flight which cost us $250. Ive always booked with kayak and now I fear I will never again. I would like a refund for the $250 or a flight stipend. Cons: Kiosks that worked were rare. Crowds trying to get boarding passes and finally getting their luggage checked were huge. Not enough staff to help confused passengers. Overall, the situation was something I have never experienced with any other airline.

Pros: This was British Airways operated by American Airlines. I'm usually not a fan of American Airlines but this was a pleasant surprise. Plane was on time and pleasant. Seating was not roomy but what we expected. We were served dinner with option for and simple breakfast. Entertainment system was up to date with personal screens and choice of movies and games.
Cons: There were six of us flying and we choice this flight because it was the lowest cost we could get per seat. When we try to check in for seating, we ended up having to pay significant fees to get seats together. I feel like this wasn't upfront and we may have used other Airlines/ flying times if we realized this wasn't the cheapest way to go. (I'll have to read the fine print better next time)

The seat my husband was sitting in (30A window seat), the touch screen seemed to have some technical issues, for it did not recognize when you touch the screen. It was a bit frustrating trying to select entertainment. Also, when checking in from our original departure location, MCO, we were not provided our boarding pass or luggage tags for our final destination, Barcelona, only to our connecting flight, Philadelphia. The connecting flight was delayed in MCO for an 1 hour and a half, after we have boarded the plane, therefore almost cost us to be late for our final flight to Barcelona. Since we were not given our boarding passes for PHL to BCL it caused confusion when trying to board our plane in PHL to Barcelona, and also caused for our baggage to not arrive with the flight. After landing, we spent an additional 2 hours at the Airport going through customs, and waiting on line for the lost and found desk for baggage in Barcelona. The lost and found desk had three agents available to assist, however we can only talk to one which was designated specifically for American Airlines. This caused a very long wait time of 1 hour. We were advised the bags stayed in Phildelaphia since they did not have the additional luggage tags, and will not arrive till the next day. Overall the experience within the Airport service desks and baggage check in' s was not a pleasant experience. I believe many of these issues could have been avoided if the American Airlines agents were more knowledgeable and attentive.

Pros: An agent found me a window seat for the Chicago-Barcelona leg of the trip with extra leg room. That was amazing. Also, the lost luggage assistant for American Airlines was super helpful and nice. Also, the 787 (I think that was the Chicago-Barcelona craft) was a very enjoyable airplane. It was super smooth. It had high tech windows that adjusted the amount or type of light that could filter through the windows depending on the settings.

Cons: On any international flight I've been on in the past one checked bag has always been complimentary. This is the first time I was surprised by a checked luggage fee of $85. Considering my wife and I were already at the airport, we had no choice but to pay for our checked bags – resulting in almost $380 in luggage fees for our round trip flights. This restriction was buried on the ticket purchase information – a very sneaky move that cost us significantly. Won't be flying TAP Air Portugal again!

Cons: The attendant who checked me in at the Porto airport was very rude and sarcastic. At the gate they said the flight would be delayed half an hour, however they just called us to start boarding a half an hour after the flight was expected to leave. At that time the passengers of the previous flight were just starting to leave the plane so everyone that was about to board then had to stand in the freezing cold tunnel way with all of our bags for another 20 minutes while the previous passengers got off. There was no food or any beverage other than water offered on the flight.

Cons: We had to pay for a check in luggage fee. Then flight was delayed for about an hour. The gate number change so we had to keep on checking to see what gate it was to be. They keeping on changing the delayed time so it end up being nearly two hours before we got on the plane. I was very disappointed that we didn't get where we needed to be on time. Our hour and 45 minute flight end up just wasting time waiting for the plane. They could of at least refund our check in bag fee for the inconvenient.

Pros: Stay away from TAP. I wish the people at the counter were just rude - they were tormenting us and lying to me about my luggage. When they found out I insisted on not checking my bag, they told me they would "keep it" in the meantime. Turned out they went ahead and threw the bag onto the plane. We ended up having to go find it at lost and found. They initially told me it was going to only take 5-10 mins to retrieve my luggage, but then 40 mins passed and still nothing. My poor mom had to wait by the empty belt - and boarding started and the luggage still wasn't there. They forced us to pay 35 euros (it's principle, not the money) when their policy said nothing about it when I booked it on the website. My mom was in tears and I had the worst few hours of my life. TAP - you are disgusting. It takes a lot for me to be upset but you really did everything out of your way to make us suffer. Even told us we might have to miss our flight. You put a huge dent on my trip.

Cons: Please read previous comments (copied and pasted below) I should never have been sold the flight. The connecting time was too short - even under normal circumstances without delay I was told that I had a solid chance of missing the flight. Furthermore, once I finally made it into Montreal for my connecting flight, no one did anything to expedite my experience. They tried to get me to my final destination 24 hours after I was supposed to be there - they had a packet of accommodations for hotel and flight already prepped (mind you, I had only missing my flight by 10 minutes so clearly my seat was sold to someone else), and they didn't want to accommodate me in any other way. Explaining that I was meeting a friend who had taken another flight, I was told that the problem was not his and there was nothing I could do. Even though I found flights on Kayak and on Air Canada site for an alternate flight getting me out to Europe a few hours later, I was told "no can do." I asked him to speak to a manager and suddenly he was on the phone and (successfully) accomodating me. BUT. The flight was a connecting flight (connection in Rome to final destination Barcelona) - and he hadn't booked me the Rome to Barcelona portion. i was told - "go see the stand in Rome and they will have your ticket ready to go." They didn't have anything on their record but did tell me that this flight should not have been booked for me without having a ticket for my final destination. This was a hellish experience and I will be writing reviews and contacting Air Canada further to discuss this whole process.

The seats on the seemingly very old 767 were painfully uncomfortable. The 320 had better seating. And what entertainment?????

It wasn't just one narrow event: even after the delayed flight, and 6 hour phone call to get rebooked, we had to use international roaming charges at the Shanghai airport to call and get them to correct an error they made with our flight out of Shanghai. The flights themselves were alright, but I want to use every opportunity I have to complain about the booking and customer service process.

Cons: Not being able to complete my original itinerary as planned (see above).

Pros: There was nothing to like because I did not fly on Air Canada to Barcelona.
Cons: For an unexplained reason, our first flight was delayed 45 plus minutes in Phoenix while cargo was moved from the forward cargo bay to the aft cargo bay. This caused us to miss our connection in Toronto. Air Canada then proceeded to rebook us on a flight leaving 2 days later. After an extended period of time, they finally rescheduled us for a flight to a different city in Europe and we had to catch another flight from there our final destination, Barcelona. The total additional travel time was extended by approximately 8 hours, causing us to lose the better part of our first day.
