We had previously booked and paid for Main Cabin extra seats in the second row that included extra leg room and free drinks. We ended in an airplane with two exit rows, one near the front and the other near the back. Our seats were right behind the rear exit row in the back of the plane. The seats did not recline and there was limited leg look because the exit row seats were aligned differently due to the crew seat next to the door. Also, the bathroom was right in front of the row in front of us and so it was busy, noisy and smelled. Obviously we didn't get our free drinks either. Now I'm having to fight with American trying to get a refund of the money we spent for the Main Cabin extra fees. The fun never stops. I will never fly American again."

We were all packed and booked our ride and shuttinlpg down the computer at the last minute when we noticed an mail after midnight telling us the flight was cancelled. We called and were told there was nothing they could do, due to connections and this was entirely their fault. Approximately 12 hours later we took a “red eye” thus arriving a day late for our hotel and car reservations. We were charged baggage fees and not sure if our priority boarding will be refunded."

I am VERY grateful to them and American Airlines policies which empower its employees to assist its customers."

Passengers seemed to be defying in small ways orders from the staff, standing etc. The staff responded quite severely in my opinion, repeating the safety video to everyone’s annoyance because some passengers were talking out loud."

When the flight finally left, after I had been waiting for over 5 hours, we were told that they would be flying low, so there would be no beverage service. It would be nice in these situations to simply have bottled water to pass out quickly, or make the announcement prior to boarding so people would be able to bring their own beverages."

I am very distraught that the information indicating there was an embargo restricting the transportatione of TV greater 32 inches or boxes to Montego Bay was not given during any of those calls.. I don't understand why that information was not sent in an email prior.. On top of that I placed a call to customs in Montego Bay and was adviced that the embargo is enforced by the airline not customs... If I could some how get some answers regarding this I would appreciate it..."

On departure day everything went smoothly. I paid $160 for several bags. I didn't mind because I am used to travelling US Airways and American so bags weren't free with them either and Frontier's prices are a bit less for the first 2 checked bags. I was surprised about the carry on bag charge but everything still worked out to being less than what other airlines were charging. My flight left on time, arrived early and everything was good. I'm in Jamaica!"

And in doing so, the price of the ticket goes from being impressively cheap to being more than a flight from another airline that has more included amenities, like actual refreshements and free carry-ons. You also get charged for just selecting a seat, not a special seat, but ANY SEAT AT ALL. So the price you initially see when searching for flights is quite misleading. In reality, you should ad at least 50 bucks to any frontier ticket to get a truer picture of what the price would be for a normal passenger with a single carry-on that wants a particular seat."

I understand the appeal of "pay what services you want" as there were many services that we "needed", and because of that we certainly paid for them. In addition to our airfare, we paid $32 for seats, $160 for 2 carry-ons and 1 checked bag, and then $6 for 2 ginger ales to help settle our stomachs for the flight. It was very unexpected. Spirit did reimburse us $60 as a one-time courtesy because this was our first time flying with Spirit, and we did not know what to expect, but had we not complained, we would have gotten nothing."

Cons: "Getting charged $50 for my check bag was ridiculous especially since the spirit website was down for practically an entire day. The crew at the front desk who handled this was very rude. Additionally I requested that I have the aisle seat on both flights and whoever the brainchild who did seating placed me at the window seat on both of my flights. There was even an adequate amount of empty seats that I could have been placed in. Finally, why are the tray tables the size of my wrist? Granted I was trying to use it to lay down, but even if I was trying to use it for food and drink, or to put a laptop on, it would have been next to impossible."

It was a "low price" ticket, but in the end I had to pay $90 for luggage. I did not like the noises of the plane. The crew im times were talking so loud I could not take a nap."
