In addition, at the counter they told us that we didn't need to do a line again for dropping bags in the morning. However, when we arrived the next morning we had to do a 40 minute line. The pain was compounded by a member of the staff yelling at me for asking him to be moved to a quicker line because I could miss my flight. I've always flown on Lan (now Latam) and I've never had this bad experience before. I'm really disappointed!!"

Food could be improved, specially offering vegetarian alternative for all of the food services. The movie selection could be improved (in variety and vintage). Music selection was very good for my taste."
Cons: "I was unable to choose my seats on line in advance, which created a stressful situation when at check-in we found that my wife and I were not seated together. Fortunately for the first leg of the trip (Santiago-Lima) there was an empty seat by her and I took it; and for the second leg (Lima-Los Angeles) the passenger next to her was upgraded on the last minute and left his seat for me. Latam has great service, but must let customers choose their seats or guarantee assigning adjacent seats to passengers traveling together, The process for servicing of the plane during the stop-over in Lima could be improved. I know it is hard to do minor cleaning, tidy-up, and replacement of pillows & blankets while many passengers remain on board, but at least there should be an announcement describing what the passengers are to expect during the stop-over."

There was no entertainment available on this trip ever through there was a screen for each seat."

Told us that there was a sick passenger on the plane and asked if my friend and I would volunteer to take a flight out the next day, that star alliance would put us up in a hotel over night, pay for our evening meal and fly us business class in the morning, that all we had to do was wait at our departure gate And someone would call our name before boarding. We accepted, waited patiently, then we were scolded for having our checked bags with us and told multiple different conflicting stories about how we were to board our flight, that volunteers were no longer needed. I checked multiple times with check-in crew to confirm that the scenario was a go. They confirmed each time, so I canceled my accommodations for the evening in Lima. The change up at the gate left for a big mess to clean up. The gate crew kept arguing hat they never told us to cancel our Lima plans. But that was besides the point. The point was, they told us one thing, there was a major breakdown in communication among check in and gate crew as well as between all crew and me and no crew member took ownership or apologized for the flub up. And I'd like to point out, this was not a language barrier issue, all flight crew spoke English fluently. One crew member said all volunteers were obtained and they no longer needed us, another said that the sick person flying (the initial issue) was no longer flying, so no volunteers were needed. crew never owned that. they suggested that it was our issue that we canceled our plans. We were able to fix, but incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience."

Forget about using the tray table, it’s just big enough to set most modern smartphones on. If you buy spirit thinking it was a d al like I did, you will be disappointed. All the fees we ended up paying put the cost above what it would have been to fly southwest."

First off, my flight to the airport where my flight with Spirit was, arrived an hour and twenty minutes before my next flight left. When I got in line to check in, I realized that I was supposed to check in at the kiosk first, before getting in line. Once I got to the kiosk, however, it wouldn't let me check in because it was 12 minutes after the "45 minutes prior to flight" deadline. After this, I went to the front desk where the woman told me I would not be able to board the flight because I was too late for check-in (which is rediculous; I was 12 minutes late for being 45 minutes early, and I was only late because I didn't know I was supposed to check in at the kiosk first. poor communication!). At this point, she sent me over to another counter to get it sorted out. At this counter, the gentlemen told me the next flight to Lima would leave the next day at the same time. He booked me a flight, but then let me know that I would have to purchase another flight out of Peru to show that I wasn't staying. This is preposterous. I've never had to do that before with any other airline. On top of this, he also let me know that my wife and I would only be able to take one bag each instead of the three we had. This was just the cherry on top of an already awful situation. So we would either have to leave a bag there (out of the question) or buy another $600 ticket just to set our bag in a chair next to us (yeah right!). I was very disappointed. You'd think that that's something the airline would tell us ahead of time since it's only on flights to Lima that they do this. Terrible communication. In the end, we were forced to book another flight with a different airline. Luckily, they did refund us for the $500 we spent on that flight. However, we spent another $500 each to book new flights. That's $500 we had to spend because of Spirit being a lousy airline that communicates very poorly and causes it's guests to suffer for it. My wife and I just got married a couple weeks ago. Spending an unnecessary $500 wasn't exactly in our budget as newlyweds. Not only did we have to spend this extra chunk of cash, but we also had to spend an extra night sleeping on the floor at the airport. Overall, it was a downright nasty experience. Aside from just being an awful experience, this is just a horrible way to treat people. We suffered as a direct result of Spirit's poor communication with it's customers. This didn't need to happen. It shouldn't have happened. It could have easily been avoided. We suffered a lot at the hands of Spirit airlines. I have every right to sue them for the damage they caused us (both financially and emotionally). Spirit caused us a great deal of harm and stress, and we deserve to be compensated for it. If we don't see some kind of gesture of goodwill from this Airline, they will not only lose one customer for life, but my friends."
Pros: "I liked the ease during boarding. During the flight the captain gave many weather and arrival time updates, which I appreciated."
Cons: "I didnt know my carry on luggage wasn't included in my ticket price. I didn't find out about the $50 luggage charge each way untill I checked in online. Seat selection is also another $7 to $18 each way when I wanted to choose where I sat. No complimentary drink was included. No headrest tv or movies. To be honest I would have gladly paid the extra $150 towards my ticket to go through less hassle during check in, not pay for seat selection, have a meal and a tv during the 5 hr flight. I will not fly with this airline again. I wish I would've been notified of the fees before I purchased my ticket."
Pros: "Flight crew was very professional despite several difficult passengers."
Cons: "There was a lot of turbulence, but that was hard to avoid. Several passengers displayed rudeness toward the flight crew."

Pros: "The seats on this flight had just slightly more leg room than the previous plane and that inch made a huge difference. The crew was just lovely."
Cons: "Boarding the group 1 passengers was weird because they didn't give us enough time to line up and all the other passengers lined up way in advance, making boarding kind of slow, but it's not a big deal."
Pros: "This is a no nonsense airline I like to call it the bus in the sky. Ifly frequently from Las Vegas to Portland Oregon and I have never had a problem they are always on time sometimes they are even early. The flight crew is friendly and helpful they are always in a good mood."
Pros: "Cool laid back flight crew . Sometimes people aren't in the mood for overly happy go lucky individuals."
Cons: "Got to my flight early and had to wait an extra hour due to a flight delay . I can't control the weather but i did have a hard time gettting comfortable after finally getting on the plane amd frustrating that I got to LA two hours later than I had planned. Can kind of tell that the crew felt the same way..."
Pros: "The flight was direct to and from and the price was very good."
Cons: "The leg room was restricted and the seats did not recline. If you have to sit next to someone who's large or obese you'll be in for a challenge."
Pros: "Arrived on time and they boarded well. You get what you pay for. Cheap flight and nickel and dimed on everything else."
Cons: "Our initial flight was changed to a different airport due to weather, therefore we never landed at Fort Lauderdale to be able to make these flights at all. We were forced to rent a car and drive to a different airport in order to make it to Detroit."
Cons: "There was 3 1/2 delay instead of getting home by 10 pm Sunday night, it was 2 am Monday morning . The whole Spirit Airline experience was poor, paying for luggage was one thing having to pay for a seat that's unreasonable. The additional $110 expense when attempting to get a boarding pass really stinks. In addition to the above disappointment, Spirit didn't load my luggage on the Bwi to Atl leg of this trip. My luggage was delivered the next day. The experience was for going and coming back I seriously doubt I will use Spirit Airlines again."

Cons: "Cut rate should not apply to airplane maintenance. The plane used had serious issues that were not properly address, so it led to a 5 Hour delay. This is not an professional airline."

Cons: "I have flown with them in the past. I feel they are getting a bit to stingy with the carry on tools. I can't take my laptop bag and a "small" carry on with out paint a huge penaly. It is getting a little harsh. If I Factor in just one way upcharge they are no cheaper then anyone else. If I'm going somewhere for the weekend I would use them again. After a week I hate a few to many goodies to bring home."

Cons: "Didn't know tsa didn't open until 5am. Arrived at 4 because of emails noting to arrive early due to potential long lines Departing gate changed twice within two hours of the flight"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing. I reached my destination at 2am thanks to the delay."
Cons: "Our plane Our flight was 3 hours late because they changed the plane due to "tech problems" when we really know it was because the plane it's self was too large for only 51 people so they swapped them out making us all wait. Spirit flight attendants would give you a glass of water even if you were chocking. That's gotta change, at least offer your guests water and a blanket because your plans are freezing cold!"
Pros: "From the beginning of my trip at DFW there was this very polite black assistant who help me get my ticket and a wheelchair all the way through my existing DIA.. The flight crew were also a lovely set of people..."
Pros: "The base price cannot be beat! The flight was on time and very smooth. Perfect for a quick flight."
Cons: "The fare literally is for you and your purse to get on the airplane, period. You will be charged extra for EVERYTHING Including: carry on bags, choosing your seat, checked luggage, snacks, soda/water etc. also, there is extremely limited legroom which is further proven by the tray tables which are miniature. If you want a larger seat, that is available for a $40 fee."
Cons: "Again, same as first flight. I haven't flown with Spirit in a long time. I forgot the reason I don't is because ticket prices may be low but you pay for literally everything which makes the prices pretty much equal to Delta or any other better airline. It was only comfortable because I paid so much extra for seats. If I buy a ticket, seat number should be included. Kinda common sense on that one. What food? I had to pay for it if I wanted a meal. A flight this long should have included a meal. I had the extra task of making sure I already had a meal with me upon boarding. Ummm......there was no entertainment either."

Pros: "The pilot did a great job considering the conditions with the storm and the winds. We went in to land the first time and couldn't because of the winds. I thought the pilot handled it with complete professionalism and excellence considering the conditions."
