(SNA/SFO) From ease of arrival at check in by Alaska Airlines staff to the airport security at SFO providing assistance to help me guide my ride to pick me up the best description of where I was to ease pick up. At boarding time the clueless person who brought the wheel chair for us gave it to a 20 something man with a foot in a cast and crutches while my 71 year old wife had to wait until another wheelchair could be brought. The irony is that two wheelchairs were there until just. Edited boarding time and both were taken away.

Pros: First time flying from SNA/OC. Accessibility of terminals was great, close by parking and only 2$/hour. Almost no wait for check in and security, very fast and convenient. Boarding was uncomplicated and there was enough space for carry on items. Loved that they offer wifi throughout the flight and free messaging (in case you don't need full internet access). Will definitely consider flying with Alaska Airlines again!

Pros: When everything was said and done, and most other people on the flight were given free passage to SFO by Airporter bus and then put onto a flight into LAX and then arrange transportation to Orange County (which I had every reason to think was a nightmare for those trying to get to Orange County from LAX due to unclaimed packages (security uproar) and major traffic around LAX and would not work for my disabled family to drive 1.5 hours to pick me up) I paid for a bus to SFO myself and booked a flight from there to Santa Ana (John Wayne) on Southwest. I eventually arrived there around 730 PM. Alaska refunded my flight southbound and still offered me $400 credit which was nice of them. That being said, the propeller planes are really noisy so don't expect a comfortable experience. But its worth it for the convenience to travel from Santa Rosa, CA (Sonoma County Airport) to Santa Ana (John Wayne Airport) provided they don't cancel your flight. Alaska will be adding more flights on this same route by summer and they deserve some credit for that, but at the end of the day, it was my own resourcefulness that saved the day, and got me to my family December 22nd. I would have had to wait until December 24th through Alaska Airlines for the same flight, and that is when my family celebrates Christmas, so that was NOT a very appealing option.

Last time, on my return flight home from Phoenix, I was forced to pay $250 for my long sports bag, even though the tag to get there was still on it and my receipt showed that it was the standard fare and was bluntly told the other attendant 'didn't do their job.' This time, after my travel mate already checked in and payed for two bags, when we brought the bags to the counter to drop off, we asked for future reference what the procedure was for AAdvantage card holders to get their first bag checked free. Her response was that she couldn't refund our money. I told her I wasn't asking for a refund and repeated my question - how to do it in the future, to which she responded that we should have come straight to the counter without checking in but all accounts are different and she had no idea what his was. To her credit, she did warm up after that, perhaps she heard how abrupt and unhelpful she was being but it was unfortunate to start yet another airport experience with coldness at American Airlines

We ended up booking a room making sure we had a place to stay at night. It created more work for us because we were trying to cancel our room took even more time. This is the first time I can honestly say I had a good experience on United. Plane was new, seats were very comfortable ans spacious (very rare), attendants were all under 70 years old and service was spot on. Huge change from the United I know.

Cons: The A319 that was used appeared quite tired. Strange irregular banging noises were heard and felt under the wing root area as jet taxied out of Santa Ana. After landing, a very high pitch squeal started and lasted 5 minutes after engine shut-down. Finally, there was a very loud "sawing noise" coming from under the aircraft after parking in the terminal that others commented about the loud sawing noise. Canadair aircraft was much nicer and quieter that was used from SFO to Santa Ana.

The flight attendants were rude, inconsiderate, and when asked what the game plan was after our 4 hour delay, their response was, ""not sure, not my department." If they didn't have answers, that's fine, but the manner and careless tone in which they replied was inconsiderate and insincere. When we finally landed at our half way destination in Houston, the flight attendant made a comment about how she can't get home due to all of the delays without considering that half of the passengers had the same dilemma and paid hundreds of dollars for their flights! The flight attendant had no empathy or respect and I would NEVER take this airline again. We spent the night at the airport and are still trying to find a flight to our destinatiom in New York :(
Pros: Take off and landing was 15 mins ahead of schedule.
Cons: Legroom on the plane was cramped.
Cons: Waiting in S.F. for flight to board. Crew announces flight will be 1 hour and ten minutes late. A few minutes later, announces the pilot is on his way and may be a half an hour late. The gate number was not announced until about a half an hour before boarding. We finally boarded and was told that co-pilot was not at airport. It was a terrible experience with United.
