Cons: "First flight delayed, which meant I missed the second flight. What should have been a 6 hour trip became 22 hours. After rescheduling first flight and getting to MIA at 2330, I learned my flight for 0455 was cancelled, which meant my bag that was en route was cancelled. Customer service via phone is completely useless (after a 30 minute wait time). They put me in a hotel and told me to get my bag in the morning when getting on my next flight to GUA. Got there @ 1000 and the avianca baggage office AND the ticketing counter aren’t staffed until 1130 am!!!!! Had to leave the country having no idea where my bag was, now stuck in GUA without it. I’m beyond exhausted and will NEVER AGAIN do business with avianca under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Terrible doesn’t begin to describe it."

Cons: "I was completely rerouted at the last minute to take 3 flights instead of just one and completely missed all of my other connections. Avianca forced to to travel for over 36 hours and continued to have all of my rerouted flights delayed. It was the worst travel experience of my life and i received no help or compensation for missing all of my other flights. All thy gave me was one stale muffin. I will never fly with this airline again."

In Rome, American Airlines asked me to pay 148 Euros which is about $160 to check in my two bags between my three family members. Funny thing is that I wasn’t asked to pay any money for the same luggage check in when I left the US. On the way home to San Francisco they lost the two checked in luggages. I paid extra to check in luggage that I shouldn’t have and on top of that they lost the luggage

The flight info was a mess - I could not find any itinerary confirmation anywhere (except the email I was sent) and could not lookup status on the airline websites or anywhere else. My flights did NOT show up on the American Airlines app, and looking up my flight info departure gate etc was practically impossible. Check-in didn't work through app/web and we had to manually do everything with the check-in agent which took 30minutes. ANNOYING! ALSO: in-flight entertainment would only play the same two ads and quit without playing the movie. This happened over and over again.... I must have watched the Canada Tourism and Hyatt ads at least 30 times. ANNOYING! This will be the LAST TIME that I book through KAYAK, and definitely NEVER EVER EVER use chatdeal again!

Originally when I booked this flight, expected departing time was at 14:30 and I booked an earlier flight in accordance with Iberia. We had a connecting flight from Lisbon to Barcelona with Vueling (coshare of Iberia) which was expected to arrive at 12:00. However, it was an hour late. In addition, Vueling insisted we volunteer to check in our carry on bags due to lack of overhead compartment space. Yet when we got on the flight, there was evidently enough space. Thus, while waiting for our baggage, our flight to Oakland was already on last call. We explained our situation to Iberia and their customer service would not help us. They refused to cover the cost of our flight and stated we needed to purchase another flight out of pocket, which was quoted to be $1100+/person! Save your time and money and book with another airline."

Then it came back on again but only at half the volume. Nothing was mentioned about it by the captain or crew so I spent the rest of the flight wondering if the engine was going to give out part way through the flight."

They knrw ahead of time about the turbulence, perhaps they could have quickly passed out pretzels or cookie before the flight took off."

This involved us having to remove all of our things from the overhead bin and get off the plane and re-board about an hour and half later. I was supposed to make it to Dallas at 8:45 and instead didn't make it until after 12:30. It was extremely inconvenient and unpleasant. I have not experienced such a nightmare before with any previous airlines."

Due to your incomparable incompetence my arrival was inexcusably delayed almost 12 hours. An account follows: For a company who's customer service is already hanging by a very thin thread you would think that you would be doing everything to make your flights as smooth and pleasant as possible. Shall I elaborate on the utter frustration and boredom of being trapped in the San Francisco airport facing not one, not two, but what became SEVEN delays? Delays that have been caused by runway maintenance- a condition which someone in your company would have known about well before I got to the airport and that you simply did not plan for. A almost FOUR HOUR delay that could have been easily avoided if you just had things together and scheduled your planes around the affected runways. And let's not forget the additional delay caused when your flight crew simply couldn't be found to come to the gate so we could start getting underway! But no, I think the absolutely outstanding quintessential experience that defines flying with United airlines is this: After the above delays myself and my fellow passengers were finally able to board our flight- only to be told by the captain that there would be another brief delay while we waited for ANOTHER crew member because one of the pilots was near the end of their union hours. We sit on the plane stuck for another 20 minuets or so, only to be told they can't find anyone, and can we please get off the plane because our WHOLE FLIGHT is CANCELED. The kiosk I get to try and fix this is uncrowded but understaffed and run by clearly undertrained employees. The ones I'm dealing with keep having to ask each other for help, and give advice/plans that contradict one another. One of theme even takes what seems to be a personal call while 'assisting' me. When I finally get ahold of a supervisor I have to plead to get the next flight out of this godforsaken place, which I am reluctantly given as its with one of your competitors. Talking with other customer and airport staff is sounds very much like you are delaying/canceling flights for your own personal gain or at least not correcting flights around the situation to squeeze more money from the situation) it becomes quite clear that you are not only still incapable of accepting any real measure of accountability but entirely disgracefully unorganized. Almost 12 hours later I do finally make it home- thanks to American Airlines. Only to have the utter displeasure of one last interaction with United wherein when I pick up my bag your employees insist that I was delayed due to the weather and it wasn't your fault. It was entirely absolutely your fault."

The problem is that when I looked on the confirmation email/boarding pass it said I was supposed to be leaving January 20th, so as you could tell on my account I had to purchase another 2 tickets with another airline. Cons: "Delay and then having to change gates - at O"Hare that means walking and walking some more !! After being insulted during check in. The RUDE woman (poor English) with assisted boarding then the RUDE man that changed my name and my luggage he chose to send to Dayton OH -never been there in my life and he "dug" thru my luggage - as if he was searching for MONEY or GOLD -he pulled out a protein drink and I asked him to hand that to me so I could drink it as I am a diabetic - he shouted at me "I THROW AWAY'. During the two hour delay I could have used it !! Poor service I will fly American from now on !!!!!!!!!!!"

Pros: "We volunteered to be bumped to another flight, but instead ended up on our same flight but with upgraded seats!"
Cons: "Unfortunately the stewardess was a little rude and treated my husband and I sub par compared to the other first class passengers. Yes, we were upgraded from economy but we felt she should have given us the same service as the other passengers. When she passed snacks she quickly put the basket in front and didn't even give us a chance to say no before walking off. Didn't offer refills to us but others were given refills/offered."
Pros: "I am Brenda Crooks, Zachary's mom. I am the one that actually took the trip. I went to Connecticut to see my son, Samuel, get his white coat for medical school. I will never forget my experience in Newark, New Jersey. I met a wonderful woman named Yevette who checked in my luggage. She is to be commended on going above and beyond the call of duty. I don't know her last name. She knew I was very upset because I was leaving my 22 year old baby in Connecticut. She sympathized and comforted me. She put her arms around me and assured me that everything was going to be alright. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart. She is the true meaning of a lady. I will never forget her and thank her so very much for being so gracious and kind to me."

Cons: "I would also like the breakdown of my flight combined. Having to justify paying more for an economy seat (Plus) I can move in is not fun on an expense report. I feel like it's more and more expensive (nickel and diming) and no space and all to frequent delays. I'm considering switching airlines."

Cons: "The flight was delayed by more than two hours. I had a two hour drive after which got me in bed at 4:30 AM instead of 1:00 AM. Had to work that day which made it hard to function. Usually great, but was disappointed they didn't offer anything to us for such an inconvenience."

Cons: "We booked these flights and made our seating assignments when we booked months ago, but all six of us (my spouse and 4 kids ages 15, 13, 9 and 7 and myself) were forced to all sit separately on our longer connecting flight and not in our assigned seats that we had booked and reserved months ago. My kids were scared to have to sit by strangers. No one offered to switch with us so at least the younger kids could sit by their parents. The steward, Tim was rude and snooty and annoying."
